June - Aw! You know me by now. I try not to complain about things. I just wanted to share this latest thing with everyone. I was floored when the pain specialist told me I had 4 herniated discs. I could not settle for just one - NOOOOO! had to be multiples. I don't go back until the middle of March but will keep everyone posted.
As for WW, I can't help you there. I hate diets and when I lost 20 lbs and managed to keep it off for 5 years I just changed the amount of food I was eating. Also, would eat 5 small meals a day. I wish you loads of luck - I know you can committ to this.
1openheart - You can get Biotin at any drugstore or Walmart. It is not expensive and even if it was, it would be worth every penny of it. Please keep us posted on how it works for you.

Peg I am so sorry too hear the news. Hugs for you!

Deb - I will be in your pocket tomorrow as well. Will bring the coffee & donuts...
Jo - 4 herniated discs? Go big or go home, eh? Really glad the cortisone shot is working for you.
June - Congrats on the weight loss and may it continue to fall off.
1openheart - My nails are also disentrigrating and seem to be falling off in pieces at the slightest touch. Started my Biotin two days ago and really hope it works.
Peg - I am so sorry for your loss. My heart aches for you...... ((Hugs))....
Sending love & hugs to my all my sistas today. Hope everyone has a good Sunday...

Hi Ladies! Havent been here in a while..wanted to pop in and say hello and I have a quick question,
I have been on T since Aug 2010 and lately (the last month and a half) I have had terrible headaches/migraines and vertigo. At the moment my doc thinks the migraines are caused by the T and the vertigo caused by the migraines. I am trying some medication for the next two weeks to see if the migraines go away. I am worried that when I see my onc next month he may take me off T and since I am prememnopausal I dont have any other options. Have anyone else been experiencing migraines or vertigo while on T??
Peg so sorry about the loss of your friend. Cherish the love and memories you shared to carry you through this difficult time.
Diane

Thanks to all who helped with the Biotin info.
JO ~~ I even had my hair colored...held my breath....and my fuzzies survived !!!!! Also, my nails weren't that bad but I do have even less breaking now.
Different brands of the Big T must make a big difference to some of us. I've always had Teva so don't really know for sure. But I think I'll leave well enough alone. LOL

I looked at my bottle and it is Teva. Don't know if it has always been that though. I order a 90 day supply from Medco.
I'm going to get some Biotin when I run errands tomorrow. I have read from other posts that it can take up to 6 mos. to see any benefit....I wonder if I'll have any nails left by then

1openheart~~
Let's hope you have fast results like we did here. Maybe it's because of the high dosage of 5000 mcg's. I did read where you need a high dose especially for hair.
It seems like it's not so much who manufactured the Big T but the particular person's body reacting to the "fillers" used to make the pill.
Wishing you the best of luck. Let us know.

Bonnie

I have been on Tammi since Jan 2011 and I know mine is made by TEVA. I have had to change pharmacies and I did ask the new one before I turned in a script.
1openheart - If I remember correctly, I started noticing a difference in as little as 3 months with my hair and mnails. I know each person is different and I hope it works quickly for you.

Peg: So sorry on the loss of your friend.
June: Congratulations on the weight loss! My weight is still stuck at the same. My only hope is that this polyp they are removing tomorrow weighs 5 pounds, then maybe I'll be a little lighter by tomorrow night...but I sincerely doubt it

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday!

Welcome Dee - If you are taking the whole pill at once, you may want to consider splitting the dose and taking half in the morning and the other half at night. Some have reported this has helped. I'm sure someone will come along and chime in. As for me, I guess I am one of the lucky ones, the only SE I have is my cholesterol is elevated.
Welcome windlass - You both have found a great group of women - so supportive and full of good information. This is the best place to be.

I just got home from running errands and got a bottle of sub-lingual 5000 mcg Biotin. I'm starting it tomorrow! Also bought a jar of pure, organic cocoa butter to use along with the coconut oil I have been using on my skin for a couple of weeks. I'm going to smell like a candy shop! I hope it does not make me hungry for something sweet.

Deb I didnt forget your man candy for the tomorrow. Here he is, enjoy!! BTW jumping in your pockets as well!

Peg so sorry to hear about your friend. BC sucks
I have been on tammi for about a year and get it from Caremarek mail order and it has always been from TEVA. I do have SE's though.
Deb I'll be in your pocket tomorrow.
Jo don't you have a PS appt this week? I'll be in your pocket as well.
Paula love the eye candy, Deb should love her pocket party.
For those on biotin I have been taking 5000mcg for quiet awhile it has done wonders for my hair but I have not noticed anything on my nails. Maybe I need more?

Didel Glad to see that I am not the only one with the headaches. I dont have migraines but have a constant headache every day from the minute I wake up. The docs and I have been exploring several reasons...the plan was to take me off the tami for 3 weeks to see if they got better, but after a week they did not go away, so I put myself back on it, really scared to not take it. I also get the vertigo with nausea for no apparent reason, really random. My BP was borderline so we are trying a med for that, still headaches after 2 weeks. Maybe just my "new norm" after all the treatment. YECK

I'm home and everything went OK. Now I just have to wait about a week for the pathology report, so I will be on pins and needles about that. But the procedure itself was real quick and I feel good. And the hospital gown had a nice big pocket, so you all were with me and I thank you for that!
Jo: There is still a half hour left, so I can run quick and jump in your pocket before your appointment!
