I was answering somebodys question, but i can.t find now where her last post was. so if you read it, if aches and pains were a build up.to what i was asuming from tamoxcifen..

momx3 I took ambien for several months and man oh man was it a wild ride sometimes. I was a bad girl and would try to stay awake as long as I could. I wouldn't go to bed, no I had to try n stay awake on the couch. All I can say is Im glad my family didn't find me pasted out in some of the ways I found myself in. One time I woke up with my head bangling over the popcorn bowl with a trail of kernels all over my shirt. I was a hot mess for sure, lol.
As for the IV part, they would put it in your foot. The BS told me that my left side was off limits for anything. They can do my right side, but if thats where they are doing a procedure then they will have to use my feet. Not to crazy about that spot. I've had IVs put there before and its uncomfortable.

Well, for the record, I should report that good old Tamox is causing two major issues. First is joint and lower back pain, confirmed as nothing serious (like mets) by MRI. Only a cancer patient would say "yay" when her doc says it's "just degenerative disc disease" : 0 )
I am following up a pelvic ultrasound I had back in December of 2010. The doctor said everything was "perfect", but it was for ovarian screening, so they may not have checked for fibroids.
I now have fibroids throughout and what we hope is an ovarian cyst, to be confirmed by...you guessed it! Another pelvic ultrasound. Because the fun never ends!
I am pretty confident the Tamox is what is making my poor uterus do backflips.

Boy, they better KNOCK me out before they do the IV!!! I absolutely HATE needles!!!!
As for the Ambien, YEP, I get crosseyed and then I'm gone
LtotheK, the best thing I did id have the hysterectomy!!!! No issues with that!!!!! But it did give me a FALSE opinion that I wouldn't have anymore bladder issues
6mos or so after, back to normal<<<< SNEEZE<<<<opps 0 -

all the aches and pains go after the five yrs when we stop taking that little white pill

Had a endo biopsy yesterday.After moving the cervex and snipping the endo I was in alot of pain.No drfugs were recomended or given.They will not be doing that to me again without meds.Now i have to wait another 7 days for the results.Ive been on Tamox for 4 years and had slight spotting so my gyno wanted to rule out endo cancer.Cancer the gift that just keeps on giving.Sorry I needed to vent.

Mumito... vent away! Im so sorry that on top of everything else it was painful for you. I would of hoped they would at least try to make you as comfortable as possible!!! Hoping and praying for B9 results! gentle hugs!

I am so tried of feeling like Im in my 80's. My freakin joints have been on fire the last 3 days. I just want to hit someone (office manager) really really hard just so they can see what it feels like. OMG I have worked for this company for over 10 years and he is bithching about my attendence, grrrrr. If he looked at my personal file he would see that I had perfect attendence for 3 flippn years in a row, this was working 60 hr work weeks physical labor!!! I am so pissed right~!!! I am so ready to ask him if he wants to have his balls cut off, followed by treatments then Tammo and see how he feels.

Mumito so sorry they were so inconsiderate to have not given you anything for the discomfort.......this must have been a man as I feel a woman is a little more sensitive.
Paula honey so sorry you want to beat the crap out of someone and go figure it is work where we spend most of our days. I hate that people have no idea what us women have gone through and continue to go through daily. I have been off Tamox for 7 weeks now and I have a very clear head but I still feel like an old lady and I am only 46. Every time I go up and down the stairs I am like the the heck, as I hold onto the railing and seriously notice the aches and pains of going up or down. Years ago before this BS I used to fly up and down, now this.....come on! So i feel your pain and I am willing to come to your place of employment and give your job a piece of my mind. Just tell me when and where and I will be there and when I am done we will have cocktails for sure.
Ok, this whole time I typed this I transposed so many freakin words. Maybe I am just getting older....ha ha

Mumito - Vent away - this is the place to do it.
Paula - We all get sick of this whole BC crap pretty quickly. It just never seems to stop. We have to deal with the daily reminders - especially the little white pill.
I do believe I will get one of my 2 drains out on Friday. The other one just won't cooperate - GRR!!! It is literally a pain in my left side. So tired of the constant pain, having to be super careful not to pull on the tubes and sleeping on my loveseat - which reclines. I really miss my comfy bed. This must be a vent/whine day because I sure am whining.

Jo - I know the drains are testing your patience, but it will be so worth it in the end. Hang in there! Mumito....we're all here for you.

HI BC Family!!!
What is it with today??? Aches, pains and ----- . I had very little sleep last night and know brain can't see straight. I had my PTO yesterday. We didn't work on LE but scar tissue. ALL night long I though I was going to cry because my hand (right side, good side??) hurt SOOOOO bad. I'm going to my GP today. I thought I could tell how good I felt, BUT today just doesn't agree!!! Anyways, I'm going to ask her about getting my hand fixed so it doesn't hurt, or go numb.
June, I understand the stairs. I have to go up & down several times at school and I just wonder sometimes if my legs will make it!!!
Mumito, I'm surprised they didn't tell you to take 800mg of IB before you came. I had it done, and it was pretty painless. Maybe it's the dr too. Mine was awesome and dealt great with me!!! (#1 sissy). I am hoping for good results for you!!!!

Sorry everyone is having such joint pains. Mine went away while on tamox and now that I am back on it just friday night and then it was gone. Hopefully the aches will stay away. I feel for you ladies that have stairs to go up and down during the day.
Jo so bumbed about your drains. I sure hope you can get them out soon. They are a pain in the A$$

ok ladies.. it must be soemthing in the air... havent slept well in weeks and my knees are hurting! I am just kinda done and frustrated with everything. Cant get answrs for my DD cant seem to feel " good" anymore... just puttin on a happy face and going through the motions is all!!!! Had to make my annual breast surgeon appt early. I am almost positive it isjuts dead fat tissue but I have this little " knot" above my left breast which was the cancer side I did not feel before. I told themand they said better to check it out, although im not too worried at this point, just kinda done with all the appts.

Jo I think that is the worst part of any type of surgery, them pesky drains. I sure do hope that they come out friday fo you.
Thanks my SISTAS!!!! I say we get him im the parking lot after work. I will gladly not go home in the shape I was yesterday. I'm still not where I am pain controlwise that is. But I do still have my tools here at work and maybe we can give him a make over, hee hee! I know all of you can relate to the fact that we would all like things to be the way they were before BC, but they cant. We all have had to learn how to adjust to certain things. Sometimes kicking and screaming. But why is it people dont get that we are still in a battle and that its going to be this way for awhile.

So let me join in on the frustrating aspect of all this BS. Heard from my Doctor that I am completely fine other than the minor stuff that I knew like kidney stones and a cyst on my kidneys along with a tilted uterus. Other than that he prescribed something for me to take to relax my Colon and said it was like a antidepressant.....WTF He also asked why I have been on prilosec for almost a year. These freaking idiotic Doctors kill me. For this past year all I did was complain to one Doc or another and they all told me to stay on the prilosec and now your questioning why I was on it for that long. SOOOOOOOO, I guess the big question for me is do I stay off Tamox and take the increased risk? Is the constant pain I have been in from the Tamox or too much freakin prilosec. I just wish I could have a magic Genie so he could give me the answers that the Doctors are not giving me. So now I have to live in constant discomfort.......argh! I think we need a pillow fight as I need to whack someone. Anyone us for a whack? Paula Paula where r u?

What happens if you don't take the Tamox??? What will it do to the cancer??? I would be afraid to stop it!!!!
I've taking Pepcid OC (Walmart brand of course) because my insurance wouldn't cover the little purple pill
The tilted uterus... I wonder if they all are and no one says anything unless the have to. LOL, I don't have one anymore, so it' no longer tilted and now I need a different excuse!!! A good idea for kidney stones is lemon water!!!!! The lemon is SUPPOSE to stop the crystals from forming. IDK, luckily my bladder is the only screwed up thing in that filtering system.So, I saw my GP, she's great just in case I forget that part!! Anyone who can put up with me, has to be!!! She refilled all my "good" pills, gave med Vic for my hand and is getting me to a surgeon to get that taken care of (surgery this summer). She also confirmed that my new nipple was probably a leftover stitch from Dec recontruction that is incapsulated. I told her that the PS aid he haNO clue,maybe a fold in the implant????? NOPE, he forgot something!!!!! LOL She said not to worry, if it doesn't come out, she can fix it. Bye Bye nipple!

I have been on tamoxifen for 6 months and I absolutely hate it! Not only am I feeling muscle aches and no energy (do not feel like getting dressed some days) but days before and during my periods, I get to feeling lightheaded, sick, no appetite, crying jags, and a little depression and anxiety. Does anyone know why it would happen during that time? When I explain it to my oncologist/radiation doc/ and surgeon, they just smile knowingly and say a lot of women hate tamoxifen but do not explain anything and said "4 1/2 years to go". I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Sometimes it helps to know that I am not the only one and it's not me being crazy. When it happens, it scare me, so much that I do not want to be alone for the fear of something happening to me (but I believe this fear is from the med, too). It has made me clingy to my husband..............
I have considered coming off of the med because of this.

jmland, you have discribed several issuse alot of women have with this. It sounds like your ONC needs a talking to by several of us Tammo gals. I don't have a cycle anymore, but still have some of the very issues you are talking about. It is a huge mental hotbutton sometimes. I still have my days where I question taking this. I sometimes tell myself, hey you've had the BMX and chemo, so why put yourself thru this. Then after abit the part of me takes over and says that the thought of going through this all over again scare the crap out of me. Hang in there. Come here anytime you need to vent or just chat.

Hi, all - I've been on Tamoxifen for about three months now. For the past three weeks, I have had a lot of gas. I'm tooting like a train engine at times. Mostly it's just a low-lying sort of bloated "I might toot" feeling, though. Anyone else experiencing an increase in gas/bloating on this thing?

Melmes man o man the gas I have had. Sometimes it just came out all on its own. Oh and lets not forget the times that I just wanted to have the crack in the floor swallow me up because I dtarted a motor boat sound at the most unlikely times. That is on SE I am so greatful that has tapered in the last few months. I have been on it for about 11 months.

Paula - thank you so much! I thought I might just be going insane, because it's not listed as a side effect anywhere, and I did a search online but only found a few mentions of it by people taking Tamoxifen. It's not unbearable - a bit embarrassing on occasion, though! lol

Melmes we have had that discussion here before I also have had that SE. I took a 6 week break for sugery. I have been back on for 11 days now and so far no gas. I hope I can skip that SE this time around

Melmes- who would have thought that would be one of the Se we women get. As Sherry said we have had that conversation many many times and yes it is a doozy. Funny how your kids get out the gas mask when Mommy toots, but heck they can drop bombs any ole time and its all good! ha ha
