Jas, what happened to this proposal was really much more exotic than my typical exploits with technology, as would be solved by your suggestion.

somehow I was filling out forms that I thought were 'downloaded' but apparently they were only visable on the web -- so when i saved them they were saved in some bizarre world that could not be accessed thru Word when I opened it back up again.

anyhow, my DH was able to reconstruct what i'd done and he assured me that he'd never seen any such nonsense before and that it would have happened to anyone.

just when i think i'm making progress technologically, i run up against something completely new that undermines my fledgling confidence.

in some strange way i was comforted that he couldn't reconstruct the documents -- even tho they were very visable on my desktop??????

in a perfect world, i'll hire someone to chase all the papers and i'll just be the creative muscle.

    LOL

WINGERS: we're all missing you and sending out a search party soon..... pop in with a quick flyby, just as soon as you get a chance!!

Spar.  You are cracking me up.  Makes me happy to see how eager you are

    to know the answer.

Reminds me of when my parents made us wait in the hall in the morning of

Christmas before we could go through that abominable hallway door and see the

Christmas delights under. around. and through the tree.

    The waiting was torture.

Your Angel above is breath taking.  It looks like it's made of glass.

    Beautiful Spar!

Okay.  If everyone hasn't gone off to bed on the east coast do you all want the

answer to the best bar on Waikiki?

    You are adorable Spar.

It's just that it's so late on the east coast and midwest and it's still light here in California.

    Not for long though.

I promise.  Just for YOU.  First thing tomorrow.  K.   XOXO

Dear Spar and Friends,  I  went to help my friend whose husband fell. I cleaned while she went to get him out of the hospital and now I am weak. I went to have breakfast at Dennys and needed to drive there(no wheelchair holder) and got weak and they helped me to my seat. I notice I don't have that trouble when I use the chair. I am drained,  But thanks for caring!  Sahalie I need some lemonade and sunset. Alwayshope, You are an special lady.  Faith, I need a kid nap, Is that more than an hour.  I love the picture of the footprints in the sand, It reminds me we are never alone.   Angel hugs to all, Debbie

Faith, sure hope the dr. can help you with your back. In 2006 I had a ruptured disc and bone fragments that had to be removed and it was awful.  So hope it is just a sprained something that will heal nicely.

Jaz, it is a jungle and I am so thankful for my little farm and the peace of retirement, and so glad to get to retire young(56) That is a beautiful have a good day picture.

Foots, do you live anywhere near me (oklahoma) My husband is good at fixing anything.  I know he could fix your ramp better.  You have to be a VERY good friend to help another friend when you are not doing great yourself.  That is so unselfish and loving.

Lisa, you are a busy girl.

All have a beachy day.Go to fullsize image

And the Answer to # 4 is:

    *

    4.  Favorite bar on Waikiki

    *

    *

Duke's On Waikiki Beach is a landmark restaurant and bar that is named after an unbelievable man.

During the first half of the 20th century, Duke Paoa Kahinu Mokoe Hulikohola Kahanamoku ... known to most as Duke or The Duke, and as Paoa to Hawaiian and long time island friends ... "emerged as the world's consummate waterman, its fastest swimmer and foremost surfer, the first truly famous beach boy."

He's the most famous name in surfing .... an Olympic champion, Hollywood actor and Hawaiian folk hero.

He's also remembered for his grace in the water, his good humor, and his sportsmanship.

Duke Kahanamoku is best known to surfers as, "the father of modern surfing.

As a sign of Duke's importance to the sport, one of his early surfboards, with his name across the bow, is preserved in the Bishop Museum in Honolulu.

The view of Diamond Head from Duke's deck is excellent.  So are the drinks!

"Duke's Waikiki, named in honor of surfing legend Duke Kahanamoku, is a seafood restaurant and bar where great tasting food and the aura of old Hawaii are the fashion."

    *

Deck at Duke's with Diamond Head in view.  Waikiki Beach.

Edited to add great view of Diamond Head

    Visit Dukes Waikiki at:

    Aloha*

    Good Morning All.

Jaz.  Great day with minimal work wished upon you.

Faith.  I sure hope your doc can fix your back.  Ouch.

Spar.  Duke's is a fun place right on the beach and we've enjoyed many meals

and even many more drinks sitting right out there on the deck.

Waikiki is a busy place but I still like it lots anyway.  People watching is frickenfantastic.

It's a change alrighty from my South Pacific Island to the south that I love more than anything.

But Hawaii is still fun.   Just got to be in the mood for a bit more commercialism.

I prefer Kauai of any of the Hawaiian Islands.

Shaved Ice.  The best.  Any island.  Shaved Ice.

The Kaneohe side of Oahu is less populated and Kailua Beach on the

    Kaneohe side is my favorite.

Beautiful beach and my favorite little market is there.

Notice the mountains in the background.  That is the Marine Corps base.

    *

And the North Shore.  Nothing like it.  Big wave Beaches.

    *

Foots.  Take it easy when traveling about.  You are a dear heart to care for your friends.

    Busy day today.

    Aloha

I would love to visit Duke's one day.  I'll add that to my list.  Well, the heat is intense here now and I'm hoping we get rain soon.   I'm going to head to the community center at lunch today and sign up for another month.  I've lost 5 pounds but I think I could use an extra boost so need to get moving again.  Thank goodness its air conditioned.   How is everyone's day going to far?

Okay, Beach Angels.  I just put a huge batch of country style bbq ribs in the slow cooker.  Not to worry, this fits in perfectly with our diets since a study has now found that a low carb diet is the best for weight loss and cholesterol lowering.  Can you say 'hallelujah'!

HALLELUJAH!  Went to the dr. today and of course they weigh you and Jas, I gained your 5 pounds, I am so mad.  I am bringing coleslaw and cold sweet ice tea. Its a veg and tea is an antioxidant. right? My husband had an appointment also so they saw us at the same time, NEVER AGAIN!! Trys to tell my secrets.  I tried to hide from him how much I weighed but he was right there and now he quipping at me, no ice cream, no cookies, no cokes, no cake, get healthy, stick around.

Sahalie, I am so glad to finally know its Dukes and I bet that I never forget it either.

Faith, let us know about your back soon as you can.

Am going to try to post a wind chime my husband made me out of old shells and pieces of old bamboo.

Holler Holler I am back from the Hills. Great to be back on the straight beach road. No drop offs, hairpin curves or mountains to climb up and down that make me dizzy on the motorcycle.

Love the mountain views and all but after 1500 miles of riding the motorcycle through them I am happy to be on flat land.

    Will catch up later.

    Hugs
