LOVE Poppies!!!
Lisa, please post your 'rose-in-the-parking lot' for everyone to appreciate.... some may not have seen it over on Facebook. It's gotta be one of my top-10 Lisa favorites.
Happy Weekend everyone!!!

will do Faith..this rose bush was in the middle of a horrid old parking place
and next to a dumpster..no one took care of it that I could see, but the flowers
were beautiful to me yesterday...

Oh Lisa -- that photo made me gasp. Beautiful is an understatement. And found in such an ugly spot. Serendipity at its best.

The yellow looks like an inner glow. Something we pink sisters have and just need time to bloom.

SoCal your pictures fantastic! What a beautiful rose with all the glow in the center. I seems so soft yet very strong... meese you're right just like the pink sisters!

I think this one shows the inner "glow a little better"
0 -
That's beautiful, Lisa, we all need to look a little closer to find our glow sometimes.

inner glow is such a good way of putting that Lisa what would we do without your pics? not this site necessarily, but obviously we all either see them on FB or on the Middies site or here and they are just to gorgeous. we're lucky that you share them with us. hugs sweetie

My gosh Coonie. #32 is two years old. It was about this time of year you launched her for the first time so we could get to Kuai to visit with Toyful. I sure wouldn't mind hauling her out again and heading to some tropical beach.

Awhhhhhh I miss Toy
I'm so glad she got to take her trip to Hawaii with her family!
Man oh man time sure does fly.

(((((((((((((((((Toyful)))))))))))))))))
(((((((((((((((((Saint))))))))))))))))))
(((((((((((((AlaskaDeb))))))))))))))
(((((((((((((lv2cmp))))))))))))))))))))
For our newest beach-combers, these are four of our 'regular' beach walkers who are now watching over our beach from their perch on heaven's shore.
Each fine woman's life was brought to an abrupt halt by BC and we treasure each of them for their differing contributions here.
Toyful 'found' our thread because she had an immediate trip to Hawaii planned and came here to get all excited about her trip. Her bucket list trip. Her health was already greatly impacted at the time, but her enthusiasm over the trip got us ALL involved in wanting to accompany her. She was able to make it safely to Hawaii with her family and left those amazing memories together as part of her legacy.
Saint was the outspoken poet here and never short on an opinion or amazement. We became friends in real life and our families were able to spend some delightful time together -- making memories by the truckload -- over moments great & small. Her bucket list trip included an RV and our little summer get-away called Sister Bay. She was notorious from the ol' chatroom days here at BCO and had a friend in every chatter ever signed in.
AlaskaDeb was beloved of these boards. Her sense of hilarity & jocularity was notorious as she told tales of her great & beloved adopted homeland of Alaska and it's wildlife. She was always on an adventure of some sort or other..... loved her daughters and their activities with total abandon, regaling us with their sporting trips. Many had the opportunity to spend time with her IRL at Pinkstock.
lv2camp, the very first poster to this thread following the header, was a beloved goat-keeper and shared stories of her four legged friends and we were always involved in which animal was about to give birth. We followed the story of each one's arrival thru her enthusiastic tales, as farm mid-wife and mother of a young son.
RIP fellow beach-combers.
You were loved here and you are remembered.
++++++++++++++++++++++
Today marks the first year anniversary of my BMX and so I find myself somewhat whistful.... all that has changed as a result of this second go-round of surgery, cellulitis, frozen shoulder, seroma, Lymphedema. My life has been impacted this year, in much more dramatic fashion than the first couple of years after my first dx, surgery, and rads.
It just seems appropriate for me to keep everything in perspective today. There are other amazing women of this thread who we have had to say good-bye to, so much sooner than we would wish. There are other women whose children long to hear their voices. There are other beach combers spouses grieving in ways that can only be imagined.
It's helpful to have Toyful's name being recalled today.
I bring all of this up, not to detract from the happy-go-lucky nature of our beach, but to pause long enough in the sun-drenched vistas to acknowledge the truth of our beach.
I must admit, I don't know that my list of four angels is the all inclusive list, here at the beach. These are four that overlapped significantly during my own beach-filled-days.
xx00xx00xx00xx00xx
It's good to know that we make a difference to one another. It's good to salute the contributions we bring to each other's day's and nights.
You, the collective, beachie you, are the reason I can carry on in the face of compromises -- to my body, to my spirit. You have collectively lifted me up and carried me and for that I am grateful.
To our beachie angels with halos I say thank you, to our beachie angel-the-founder, who reads from afar...... I say thank you. To you beachie angels sitting at your screens I say thank you. To you beachie angels I have had the grace to hug in real life, I say thank you.
I guess all in all, today is a day to say,
"THANK YOU!!!!"
Strength and courage.
Strength and courage.
Strength and courage.

Faith, you know what? You really should give some thought to writing for a living, or inspirational speaking or something ... you're pretty good at it! Oh wait ... my brain is trying to tell me something .... OH ... that's right, you DO those things You captured those angels so well with your words. I'm a late bloomer on the boards - I was more of a chatter for 5 yrs and only started boarding in the last several months. I still chat, but find I like the boards better at this stage in my life. So far I'm only here and the Middies - where do you find the time?? Ha! I'll piggyback on your thanks and offer mine both to all of those you mentioned, and to those I never even met who might have had me on a prayer list or sent some good karma my way just because a friend of theirs may have asked on my behalf. Hugs ladies, filled with love0

Faithie---I didn't realize it has already been a year since your surgery. May each year get easier and easier for you. Your eloquent words for our angel sistahs brought me to tears. They were SURELY special!

Faith, thank you for taking the time to share with us the wonderful lives and hearts of our sister angels. Your beautiful commemoration of them made me cry and smile through the tears. I discovered the legacy of Saint weeks ago, and her incredible, kind spirit has drawn me to read her poetry, read the posts her family members have shared, and am so absolutely blown away by her incredible strength, bravery, and grace.
How did I get to be so blessed to have found all of you?

I held it together until reading missbiancas post. why do some things just get to us? faith, you know it was the saint reference that got me ... missbianca, i was one of the lucky ones to meet saint and as faith said, to know her was to be her friend. unfortunately, to be her friend was to feel a heart wrenching loss at her death. but COONIE'S picture is soooooo what this thread is about. COONIE my love, thank you so much for bring me out of my doldrums with your post. hugs and love sistahs

Oh my goodness so much action on the beach thread while I was away.Had computer problems at the resort so lost touch with everyone for a week.Give me the day to down load and get organized.
Welcome to the two newcommers.Elizabeth when are you leaving for your beach adventure I think it is very soon.I hope you have a relaxing trip with lots of snorkling time.Maybe you will even meet a new snorkling buddy to share the ocean with.Pls becareful with the stingrays.
Our week in cuba was chilly. First time we actually had to wear a jacket in the early mornings but that did not stop my son and I from snorkling on a daily schedule. My underwater camera somehow opened up while I was in the ocean.I was very upset. Can't figure out how that happened but I am sure the camera is ruined now.Saw alot of fish, crabs and even found a conch but heve no pictures except the ones I took on the beach.
I will be back with photos later.
Faith your writing skill is amazing you brought me to tears this morning while I was catching up.Thankyou.

Mum -- Oh no, re. the camera! When I was in Cuba over New Years a few years ago the ocean felt as cool as a Canadian lake! I'm thinking of going to the resort in Holguin you mentioned -- maybe in the spring if all goes well. In about 7 days, 6 hours my toes will be in the ocean at Seven Mile Beach!

a house right on the beach at Mission Beach here for boys weekend...they are all
over forty and have been friends since they were 18 although he is the only one who
lives down here..It is a perfect beach weekend here...sunny and high seventies..they
are having a ball. My DH stopped by yesterday to say hi to everyone..
