Two hours and seventeen minutes to go before I'm on the biggest stage of my life.
I came in here to be among friends & calm myself down.
The bouquet of flowers would have me in tears, but I took a happy pill.
LOL.
But THE MOST AMAZING thing of all, is Sharon's post to our Dream-girl above.
The subject of my keynote is "DREAM."
Seriously.
It's the coda of my first book, and the moral of the story.
Jumpin' Jambalaya!!!!!!
Sending love up & down the beach -- to each.
xx00xx00xx00xx
You may not grasp this significance, but last year their keynote was Ella Jenkins. This year it's little ol' me.
Give me another Jumpin' Jambalaya.
(She was 82 and is the grande dame of all things, children's music.)

Lisa, I love your daisy photos. Thanks so much for sharing your download program. That looks like a lot of fun, with really cool effects.
Faith, I hope your presentation went well. We send you our collective sweet dreams!

That's gorgeous, Lisa! I love sea birds. The ripples with the bird's reflection are lovely.

We're back in pitch-dark Florida. I can tell because there are palm trees.
The luggage all made it.
We have another hour to home.
Beachie kids...... I'm likely to be "high" for the next couple 'o weeks. This was such an awesome experience on so very many levels.
I was at this conference 48 hours before my BILAT, last January..... so returning and presenting the keynote, was such the cherry. Such a full circle. Such a full heart.
Everything went brilliantly. It was in a big theatre/auditorium. I had a crew of 4 tech/sound/light guys to my disposal for the entire morning.
The funniest thing happened during the sound check. A fellow was delivering the drinking water for the podium for me and he was listening to the first of my songs of my keynote. He quite innocently said, "Hey, I could dance to that!"
To make a short story long, LOL, he came back in time for the kickoff and danced with me...... I then asked if anyone in the audience wanted to audition for "So ya Think ya can dance" with us. In a heart beat, another 10 women were on the stage.
Anyhow, the water guy, Keith, proceeded to wow them with his moon walk, worm, popping moves. It was soooooooooooo cool & so much fun to start off with such a big bang. The others got a prize for coming up to help.
Then the very next song I used was my one where I use a lot of sign language...... Yesterday I met a group of three teachers who are deaf and their interpreter..... I asked them if they would be willing to join me on stage..... they assured me that they didn't want to, but after a LOT of coaxing they relented.
Their participation was brilliant. I wish I could have 'seen' them from the audience perspective. Stellar and amazing and heart-warming and and and and and and and and flat out awesome.
We ran out of product and will be shipping a lot of orders.
I'm still pinching myself.
A million contacts. My favorite is the curator of the local Art Museum who wants to create a display, where she would create work with students/children in response to my first book/quilts and culminate in my visit for public launch. I was able to show her the amazing photos from my NY residency last month and she was off to the races.
The only down side in all of this, is that I have like zippo pictures. I asked my friend to take them and somehow she garbled up the setting..... I have about 4 dozen pictures of what looks like frozen petrie dishes from a science experiment gone hay-wire. ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
My biggest deal to date and no documentation: ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH
Oh well, you'll have to believe me. it was awesome!!!!!
I could go on and on and on.................
Golly, it's fun to do what ya love, isn't it???
Thanks for holding my hand when I need it.
xx00xx00xx00xx00xx
LOVE to all the beachie-kids!! Will I fall asleep tonight???

Wow, sounds like a wonderful experience, Faithie.
My grandfather was deaf and I rememebr the enthusiam he had when he was in front of an audience, be it us grandchildren or a whole group. I was going through some of my videos and found one of my paternal grandparents. Both were deaf and it was beautiful to be able to know what they were "saying" in their silent home movies. (your story just spurred a memory, sorry for going off topic)

Faith, you might be the only one of us who is surprised to hear how wonderfully things went! I love the water guy story, and the sign language part. Good things follow good people, so it only follows that these things would follow you. Hope all the contacts turn into positive leads.
Meece, don't you just love it when something comes up out of the blue and brings up a memory that makes us feel good? I had that recently with a food item ... took me back to my childhood dining room table with mom, dad, four brothers and one sister. Started an email chain among us recalling various memories from our youth. Fun stuff
Lisa, Picasa was pre-loaded on my computer when I bought it and was the first program of choice that would open after I downloaded my pictures from any camera. I love it too, although I haven't experimented nearly enough with the available settings. I just tried the darken feature (is that shadows?) Didn't seem to change it as much as yours, but still pretty cool - thanks for sharing that tip!
Here's before changing the shadowing
and here's after....can't wait to play more! this was at Longwood Gardens in PA last Mother's Day by the way ...
