We are officially back in the United States. We cleared customs hours ago & retrieved our luggage and rechecked it.
Our last leg of the journey is now officially "delayed"............
We've now been up for 22 hours so staying patient is the challenge.
It's nice to be able to plug my laptop into the outlet & hear English being spoken. AND my cell phone works again!! Such luxuries are not to be taken for granted!
Thanks for all the well wishes for travel mercies. We're nearly back to squre one.
I have 24 hours 'off' and then our BIG state event starts in earnest on Thurs. I get to give the 'warm-up' to the first day's keynote and have one joint presentation Thurs and my own workshop to present on Fri..... then there's an official book-signing on Sat.
Then I can officially exhale.

Wow-you know I never have thought that I'd need to travel to the Netherlands-just didn't really seem to appeal, but after Lisa's photos I'm thinking I need to change my thought process

Hi Beachies!
Faithie, I can't wait to see pics. I think Italy is on the top of my dream list for Europe. Welcome back!
Marlegal, thanks for reminding me about the bio. I'll get around to filling it in again. I was diagnosed March 2009, but had gone for a mammogram August 2008 because I found a lump, and they told me all was well. Not sure how to actually count my anniversary date, but just as well. The March date passed this year one day before arriving here in Florida, and I was so busy, I totally forgot all about it!
This is kind of a long post, but I thought you guys might get a kick out of my latest REM adventures.
Lisa, your beautiful pics of the Netherlands have infilitrated my subconscious mind! A few days ago, I had a dream that I had moved to this beautiful house, with a lot of woodwork. The backyard had a lot of gorgeous magnolia trees, and there was a lot of grey stone masonry. Then I went back into the house, and it morphed into a cruise ship. I was confused and delighted, and found out we were headed to the Netherlands! I looked in my suitcase, and it was a mess of shrunken sweaters that didn't fit and tank tops. I didn't know what season it was, so I looked out the ship's window, and could see the Netherlands. It was so cool! There were people riding around on bicycles with huge wheels around grassy knolls, and they were wearing tank tops.
This morning's dream I have to share with you all, as only BC sisters could fully appreciate. My DH was driving, and it may as well have been a roller coaster. He was like a maniac, and trying to race another car, but didn't know all the turns as it was new territory. The next thing I know, I am in a hospital, I think from fried nerves, laying down with Nurse Ratched tending me. She gave me all kinds of pills, but I dropped one. She insisted I didn't. I couldn't get up, but I started picking up dropped pills with my toes. I was incredibly adept at this, and my leg was so flexible as I gave her the dropped pills from my toes, some from previous patients that had layed there. I finally found the one I dropped, and she didn't believe it. She said if she gave me a double dose, at 400 mg, it could prove dangerous. She went to ask about this, and came back with a tiny bunny rabbit. The rabbit had swallowed my pill, and I was instructed to eat the bunny. Alive! This bunny was gulping like a fish out of water, and I needed to find some water to save its life, so at this point, it was some kind of aquatic bunny. As much as I wanted my med that the bunny had consumed, I rebelled against the medical establishment and refused. I was concocting a plan to sneak the bunny past the manager into my new complex when I woke up.
What does it all mean??? LOL I hope you ladies are having a great day!

Before I read back posts and forget, for any of you who knew Lana Jean Healey (Lady Jean on chat/boards), she passed away the week before Easter and we're having a memorial in the chat room (the Staying Connected room) Sunday evening at 7:30 EDST if anyone would like to come share a memory, light a candle, etc.

3jays, love the picture!
Had an awesome weekend with my daughters, took in a show (Lion King) stopped at two different places for a drink at each, delicious dinner (Ruby Foos, highly recommend to anyone going to Broadway area), and then we stayed overnight with the one dd. Great way to kickoff the week leading into Mother's Day
Have a good week kids.

Hi, Beachies!
Lisa, can't wait to see more of your travel pics! What gorgeous photos of Spain. My great grandfather was from Spain, but don't know much else. It looks like a romantic country rich in history.
Samsue, the bunny has not made a reappearance, so I think he got away!
3Jays, LOL! I read this article saying that we as Americans should celebrate this victory "tastefully", although I know we are singing "Ding Dong, the Witch is Dead" in our hearts! What a great day for true justice and the defeat of evil. I loved our president's speech that night. Thank you, Navy Seals!
Marlegal, the Lion King must have been awesome! It is one of my son's first and favorite movies. I love the Elton John / Tim Rice collaboration on the songs from it.
Here is some of the wildlife that has been visiting the pond in front of my patio. The pond is starting to dry up, so whatever critters are left in it are concentrated at one end, and we have seen more birds feeding.

Love the birds MissB.

MissB where in FL are you? Looks a lot like the ponds around here.

Thanks, Chabba! I love to watch them.
Barbara, I am in the Orlando area. There is so much water around here, with many ponds, marshes, and lakes. I was told the gaters like to migrate from pond to pond. They caught a 6 ft. gater one pond over last week. I do study the surface of the one in front of me, looking for ripples and bumps, and feel like I'm waiting for the Loch Ness to show up! I love it, though.

MissB, we have a lot of ponds around here also but I am on the beach so I have more salt water around than fresh water. Gators are fun to watch especially during mating season (now)....from a good distance with binoculars. I do love watching birds. We have so many here. I need to get a better camera to take pix of them. On my list.
