LIFES A BEACH!

Hi Barbe, that is what Jersey Shore people who own their own vacation homes, or who live theire year round call the people who come just to stay for a week or more...............Not being mean, that is just how they refer to people who don't live there.................Sometimes you might here them referrred to as "the tourists" too.
Its a Shore thing. Not to be confused with the series "Jersey Shore", heavens knows we're not like those people............
Kind of like Italian people who refer to anyone who isn't Italian as Medigan, which means American (not Italian).........Endearing words...............I'm not Italian, but my husband was, and they use to call me Medigan
My grandmother use to refer to herself as "Lace Curtain Irish", as opposed to "Shanty Irish"...Crazy huh.

Duck, where is your place? Me, you and Blondie have to arrange a get-together this summer!!
Barbe, Shoebees are the same for the New Jersey shore as snowbirds are for Florida ... people who only go for a season and act like they own the place!!

Hi Beachies! All kinds of exciting stuff going on. Faithie and SoCalLisa in Europe....wow, can't wait to see pics.
Mum, tiny fishy's pics are stunning. He must be an expert on knowing where to find these birds, as well as capturing them. It makes me marvel at the gift of flight birds have been given. I wanna fly! lol My childhood was filled with flying dreams. I still have them on occasion.
Hope you all are having a great weekend!

Oh Blondie is she a piss or what..............Lord you could never been like her........your too nice to be obnoxius................She even makes South Philly girls not admit to being Italian..............And Blondie, come on, we're classy broads......hah, we would never think of being like Snookie, haha.................and imagine Rutgers paid that one $32,000 to speak at their commencement...........What could she possibly say that is worth that kind of money..
Marlegal............I am between North Cape May, and the Villas, they call it Cape May Beach......Its a small little spot only about 5 streets........It is off Ba'y Drive.........You come down Bayshore Rd.............Make a right at the light on Village Rd...........Continue till you hit Bay Drive.......go any further your in the Delaware Bay)............continue for 7 streets, I am a left off of Bay Dr. onto Tahoe Drive.........
Not sure if your familiar with Ponderlodge Golf Course.........it is on Ba'yshore Rd.......it was owned by Pflaummer who owed Schmidt's Brewery in Philly, but owned a beautiful house in Drexel Hill...........The golf course is now a santuary for wildlife.........He sold it to the Township for a song. Was gorgeous, but now it is a protected area for birds, so they have let it over grow.....Still nice, but not what it was. Yes we will have to get together.

Ducky thanks for the directions! Of course, I'll forget all about them in 10 minutes, so if we are going to try for a get together with me, you and Blondie, we'll just find a central'ish spot! With three inches of rain last night we always had a waterfront home here in Collingdale!0

Marlegal, no way in hell I would remember them either..........At almost 76 (next Sunday), I forgot what I ate for breakfast this morning........I was just giving you an idea about where I was located....When it comes to directions I'm the worst. When I lived in Springfield even after I was there for years, I would get lost. Especially at night. I thought it was my cataracts cause I couldn't read the street signs.........Had them fixed, and all that did was allow me to see the signs clearer, but still got lost cause I didn't know where the hell I was.
One night we got home from my grandsons football game in Pittsburgh after a ride up and back in the same day......I parked at my daughters also in Springfield, and the got into my own car about 1am................I was only 5 minutes from her house. ........I took the wrong street on the way to my house, and didn't get home till 1:30am.........I friggin got lost in my own town......How dumb is that...........
Well looking forward to this summer................Hugs.

Carmelattia, if they were made out of sand, it was probably on the beach she was on at the time. Try googling it.
Great pictures as usual. I love the houses right ON the water....can you imagine living there? Wouldn't everything be kind of damp? When we had a lot of rain at the cottage, it was like anything made of cloth felt kind of dampish.

We are safely in Tirrenia, Italy.
Arrived this evening -- just before sundown.
It's been an AMAZING week -- beyond my wildest imagination.
Tomorrow, is my 'final' official day of my USO style tour...... and by comparison it is a 'smaller' sort of day (only from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.) as opposed to my 'longer' days. LOL.
This is the smallest post of any that we have visited.
Carmel..... I am so mush-headed, I can't even remember posting a 'nude' sort of sand picture. LOL. Of course tonight I can't remember my middle name. All of this travel (changing locations every night, of 2 nights in a row at most) has been mentally exhausting.
Today we were lost in the utmost of wack-doodle stories that would require a book. We were to follow our host-driver crossing country. To make a goofy story short, they lost us in a 'circle' when semis interrupted our following. They hadn't even told us where we were going -- as all we had to do was follow........ much nonsense followed during today's adventure, but all is well in the end!!!
With the sunset above upon arrival!!!

Awesome, Faithie! LOL I thought those goofy adventures only happened to my DH and me. As he likes to say, "like a fart lost in a windstorm!" Now with my lifetime excuse of scrambled eggs for brains, I can get lost going to the grocery store, let alone finding my own car in the parking lot. I can only imagine the goofiness that would ensue traveling abroad with him. LOL
You are living a dream! I hope you can cherish and remember your experiences amid the whirlwind of travel. Love your sunset picture!

Faith awesome pic, and glad you arrived safe - eventually!!!
Wanted to share a little something with all of you ... went for my regular 6-month visit with med onc today and since I'll be going off hormonal therapy next month (it being 5 yrs since I started), I don't see her again for one year!!! It felt so nice to check-out and get an appt card for a whole year from now. I still see surgeon every 6 for an area where rads did damage, so the cord isn't being cut totally on the follow-ups, but it felt real good. And I swear to God, one of the first things I thought of was - I can't wait to tell all my BCO buds, like each time one of us passes some milestone, we all do, ya know?

CONGRATS!!!!! Let me be the first to say you done good Marlegal!!0
-
Congrats Marlegal. I have almost the same path as you and yet I'm scared to be released from my med. onc. He seems to want me on Arimidex more than 5 years which will be this fall. I wonder why some say 5, some say more? I want to be off of it. (Edit to add~it's my decision but still, a difficult one to make.)
