No more diarrhea!!!
I'm a week past my 3rd of 4 T/C treatments and think I found a solution to the horrible diarrhea I got following tx 1 and 2. This time I started eating a daily probiotic chocolate bar called Attune about the time of the 3rd infusion. I've had an occasional stomach cramp and slightly softer stools, but not the 5-6 days of diarrhea I had with tx 1 & 2. They taste great but are not cheap...but it's definately worth it to avoid the GI issues.

Awesome Likeachickadee! Thanks for the good tip. I'll look for the Attune bar.

Hi all - This might not be the right place for my question but there are so many threads on chemo! I'm hoping some one here can answer a quick one: I'm having BMX surgery on May 30, and I will most likely need chemo. I keep hearing from women (and from one meeting with an onco) that chemo needs to start within "12 weeks". But is this 12 weeks from diagnosis or 12 weeks from surgery? Thanks, chemo sisters!

Wish I knew the answer, so here's a bump to keep this up.

It must be 12 weeks from surgery Esmeralda. You need time to recover from surgery before starting chemo! Hope all goes well for you!!

My chemo started 5 weeks after surgery.

I just spoke to my oncology nurse earlier today and she said they like to begin chemo 4-6 weeks after surgery.

Ah, that sounds like a more resonable timeline! Hope it goes well. It's going to be hard, but you can do it!!

Thank you, NWartlady. I have surgery in 6 days, and am trying to take this one day at a time but it's hard to not look down the road at what's next!

I hear you, Esmeralda. Remember, we're here for you and if you have any questions, there's a world of experienced men and women here happy to help! We're also good at listening to complaints, etc. Sometimes you just need to get it off your chest.
I'll be thinking about you and hoping for a smooth surgery.
