Thank-you for this post. I start chemo on the 9th and this has really helped me prepare mentally and physically.I appreciate all the support-hope I can pay back at some point

Bcbarbie ...good question. I was wondering that as well but haven't asked. My appts seem so involved with blood work and results that I get sidetracked! I hope someone comes along to offer advise!

Palmettomom, it seems it's not advisable to have it on the week immediately after chemo since our counts are down and we might get uti. Even more should we abstain is the first two days after chemo bec we might irritate our partner bec some of the chemo agents do stay in our mucous membranes, etc, vaginal wall, mouth mucosa. Same way Rock advised us to flush twice, we leave behind traces/fumes of the chemo agents risking exposure to the next user. The few days before the chemo are best, though, when our counts are expected to be higher.
Hope anyone else can chime in and elighten us further.
