Hair Hair Hair - Another question

Hi All!
My hair is starting to curl too - it's almost 2 inches long - but the curl is more like a wave at this point because it's still quite short.
I'm using Morocan oil on it now and just letting it air dry. The oil keeps it soft and shiny - grey hair tends to be dry and dull - so the oil really helps.
I used to have long hair with lots of body and curl. I would blow dry it straight and I used a product by Frizz Ease called Weather Works which is a style sealer cream. You put it on wet hair and then blow it out and it leaves your hair smooth.
I'm hoping to use that again when my top grows out a bit more and I can get my "Jamie Curtis" on!
Happy hair growing to you all!
Marie

Hair envy is a terrible thing. I check my hair growth every day. Now that my young grandchildren know that Grandma has been wearing a wig, they love for me to take off my wig so they can touch my chick fuzz hair!!

Hi Brenda, I too had mine done in another country, and the japanese method is used here. It took a few hours, but not all day.
Hope this helps, have a good day all, Judy x

Hello Everybody:
Yesterday some time I posted up a message about eyebrow powder application,
and also posted a picture of the eyebrow powder I purchased and now I am looking at the messages in the forum here and cannot find the message that I posted.. hmmm

Charmaine, you wouldn't be the first that lost a message. I just hate it when it happens.
leah58, hair envy is OK. We all have it or have had it. I have finally gotten past it and have my own hair now. I need to get a trim, it will be my second. Just like all this mess, it just takes time. Good luck on the hair growing.
Marie, my hair is still softer than it was before. I am very happy with the short style, but have to get hair trimmed more often than I like. It just takes so much time. But certainly is easy to take care of. I don't blow dry or anything, just mousse and go.
Hope everyone is having a great week.

Hi All,
I have a question for anyone that can answer this. My top lashes are coming in and they are all at different lengths and growing every which way. I tried curling them...which didn't do anything. I purchased a clear mascara for $20.00 to try and train them...which isn't helping much either. Has anyone dealt with this problem.....any advice?

Charmaine actually posted the message about the eyebrow powder on the "Calling all Canadian Women" thread. I replied to her post on that thread.
My hair is overgrown and I'm going in to get my roots done and get a trim this week. It's been six weeks since I had it colored and cut. I'm definately getting a wave at the back. Not sure how it's going to turn out but I like it so far. Just wish my bangs were longer.
Have a great evening ladies!

Sherri - I hear you on the bangs! Today I picked up a small round blow dryer brush. I tried pulling down my bangs and it looks a bit better. I also used the brush to smooth out my curly top and back. It works pretty well!
I need to have my neck and ear area trimmed again too!

Hello everyone:
I thought that I had posted my message here about my eyebrows, and in fact did not realize that I posted it in the forum 'Calling All Canadian Women'.
The message was in reference to applying eyebrow powder as good as I did with the eyebrow pencil and applying it so the eyebrows appear thin. It was also in reference to whether I feel the 'beautician' chose the right eyebrow powder color for me 'soft brown' - I will show here the color of the eyebrow powder that the Beautician chose for me (cannot return it now as have used it 7 times and cannot find the bill.
Here is the 'smashbox' eyebrow powder - color the beautician chose for me :-
and here is a picture of me with the eyebrow powder applied - I am going to have to get a eyebrow pencil that is harder so as to apply it better. The softer brush does not do so good of a job for me, as you will see from the picture. You can see how dark the eyebrow powder is on me from the picture too (might appear slightly lighter as I put the wax on top).
With the powder I am also not very good at applying the same on each brow.

Over the past weekend I went with my husband to the hairstylist as he needed a haircut.
The hairstylist looked at my hair growing in and said in a couple of months, maybe by August I could come in for a trim and she said also I would like nice with highlights. She called the highlights 'pegasus blue' highlights in with my gray hair.
Hair is growing in nicely at the top and very slowly at the sides, and growing in some at the back. The hair at the back is coming in very, very wavy.
Charmaine
PS Just a reminder that I shave my hair off 9 weeks post chemo as it was coming in fuzz hair. So it is regrowing from April 9th.

I forgot to add that I am 5 months PFC!

Marie - your hair looks great! I might try a small brush myself. I've been just blow drying forward and over to the side with a comb. Or, sometimes I put mousse so it sticks up. I go tomorrow for another clean up trim. I don't think I can maintain this cut around my ears for long going forward. It's too much maintenance.

MarieK: Nice growth...
I have had better looking days. Face is on the red side as there is allot of humidity in my apartment at the moment as they will not be turning on the air conditioning until towards the end of June, beginning of August as they are upgrading the air conditioning. Yes I have fans running, but not helping much, still feeling on the hot side...
I wish that I would get more hair growth on the side as you have... looks nice

hi girls, all this hair growth is great. Here is my new avatar with hair (short but mine). I am 16 weeks PFC. It came in very grey and I decided it had to go. I used one of the root touch up kits from the store. I had my first little trim yesterday to get rid of the fuzz!!
For those in the growing phase, enjoy....for those in the beginnings of hair loss, keep the thought it will come back. It is a long rocky road but you will get there!!

ps.....I agree with the bangs concern...I wish they were longer!!

Maybe cut it real short and just start wearing the wig would help you. It will all come back someday.

Girls, the hair looks great. I am going to try and get a trim tomorrow. It is lots of maintenance to keep it trimmed about the ears and neck.

Hi there girls
Have been on the site this morning and am interested to know what the word "bangs" mean. I live in the UK and just need it clarified hope you dont mind !
My hair has grown back really curly finished chemo end of December 09 - would love to colour it now as it so dark but have to admit i dont have to wash it every day like i iused to before - I used to have very fine hair !
See oncologist today as it is exactly a year since diagnosis of the beast ! Am nervous but am keeping fingers crossed !!

Hi Debs, congratulations on being a year from diagnosis! Hope all goes well with your onc appointment.
I am from the UK too. I have family and friends in the USA and I believe I am correct in saying that bangs are what we would call a fringe.
0 -
Debs - Jayne's correct....bangs are what we call the hair that lies over the forehead. Fringe does sound like it's the same thing. I usually like my bangs (...."fringe") to my eyebrows. Right now they are about 1/3 of the way down!

I can't wait for bangs! I am 11 weeks PFC and have good, even coverage of about 1/2 ", and it's my normal color and texture! I'm encouraged and trying to be patient. I'm not sure I can go out topless w/o bangs, it looks a little severe still.

Wow Everett - Love your hair. I am 8 weeks PFC and there is no way I will look like that in 2 weeks. I have a mix of white super soft fuzz and hair. I am trying to be patient. At least the coverage I have is pretty consistent.

Hi ladies, Wonderful to see such great photos!
Im 24 weeks post-chemo. Had second trim last week. My fringe/bangs is growing rapidly in recent weeks and appears to have finally caught up with the rest of the hair on my head! Today, I spent 30 euros on hair-bands and clips, and put on a really cute hair-band with a little bow once I left the shop...Wonderful to be able to use hair accessories again!
I must say Im really enjoying this hair-growth phase. My hair finally looks like a proper hairstyle. People who have met me (and not known anything about my illness etc) have comented how wonderful my hair looks and how short hair really suits me! Pre-chemo, I had hair half-way down my back, but dont think I will EVER let it grow that long again!

Everett, great picture of your hair. It looks really good.
TreadSoftly, I was just getting my hair grown out. It had finally reached my shoulders and I could pull it up and do all sorts of things with it, but I will probably never let it get that long again. My hair is now about 3 inches long and I am really liking it short. So eash to take care of. No blow drying, curling irons, flat irons, just mousse and go. I am loving it.
Issymom, I know it is hard to be patient, but you will get there. I happens faster than you think.
Wishing everyone a great and beautiful weekend. Take hubby out for dinner to celebrate.

I love to hear all the hair tales. I've been photographing my hair growth since a few weeks PFC. I so regret that I never took photos of my bald head. Anyway, here are some pics of my hair regrowth story. I finished chemo on Feb 1, the last picture in the series was taken yesterday (at four and a half months PFC).

Wonderful series of photos Mary - you look superb! Your hair is doing brilliantly for only finishing chemo in Feb! I love the curls!
