Not only good for preventing nueropathy but great for reducing memory mush too:

Is that what keeps you so smart, Lago?? I think I will definitely look into it, I swear my brain and memory is MUSH.0
-
I have some and have not been taking it - rebelling against yet another pill. However, since the onset of jellyfish brain I may have to reconsider.

My brain maybe mush, but my hair is colored! Went to salon today and had my hair colored (Aveda salon, they used a nonpermanent color, it will last about 4-5 weeks and gradually fade). Granted I only have 1/2 inch, but I think it looks great, gray is gone. Also had neck and around the ears trimmed. So great to be spending money on my hair again.

christine47 - Yay! Although I think maybe we should be charged less because we have small hair!

Marjie you mean smartass? Seriously I do feel it helps my memory. Doesn't make me any smarter. I recommended it to another BC.org woman for neuropathy and a few days later she said "I swear my memory got better." I felt it too so that's why I kept taking it.
It's the most expensive suppliment I take but I think it's worth it. Last time I bought it it was 2 for 1.

They only charged for a single color and no charge for the "cut". I usually pay about 3 times as much, even with my prior short hair. Love it! Occasionally the cancer card does pay off.

christine47 - oh, that is so nice! My hairdresser has been very good to me throughout. She cut my hair recently and didn't charge me, also gave me part of the Bosley system for free. She texts me periodically just to see how I am doing. Very sweet.

My hair dresser had been charging me 1/3. He doesn't have to dry/style my hair for more than 5 minutes and he uses much less product. It used to be $30 just to blow dry and style.

My stylist charged me $55 for the color but no charge for the "cut" which she upkeeps whenever I pop in... I went to her with my son, and she was having me sit and get a trim...

Right now I would pay big bucks just to have enough hair to cut!

I did pay big bucks and still have gray hairs and fuzz. The color is better but not great. She trimmed a little around by ears and neck and charged me $80.00 How does she sleep at night???

Hello, I am new...
I am PFC 7 weeks today. I have peach fuzz and some hair hair growing in. The top is not as covered as around the back. I feel like a chia pet. I am taking biotin and prenatal vitamins to help. Tell me I wont always be bald.

Wow Kymn!! 9 weeks PFC and you're sporting a fauxhawk??? Sounds like you are one of those lucky ladies whose hair is going to grow back fast. Carrol2 is the same - I can't believe her hair.
Congrats on going topless....it's such a great feeling.

Okay, I looked up images of "fauxhawk".....that's a new term for me......and I see this is how my hair is growing in.....(have seen it countless times on lots of guys but didn't know it had a name)......I smooth it over so it looks like it's parted on the side.......

Hey there, i am almost 5.5 months PFC - it took FOREVER to get full coverage, due to a number of factors. But you know what? I finally have full coverage. It grew back.
I went topless at 4.5 months. So don't despair if your hair is taking its sweet time. I'm going to color it tonight with L'oreal Beautiful in Medium Warm Brown. In a few weeks, I will probably go for a little trim. My hairstylist is BC survivor herself, so hopefully, she won't charge me an arm and a leg.

Christine47 and PSU222, congratulations on getting your hair done. PSU, I hope you are feeling a bit more optimistic.
MamaV, I agree. I would pay big bucks too. I am 19 weeks pfc and still have barely an inch, though good coverage.
EmmaC, I predict you will not be bald. Unfortunately, we all just have to be patient.0 -
I am 11 weeks PFC and I took the plunge and colored medium brown. I just could not stand the "little old man" gray mess I had any longer. It is ok, but I think next time I will pick a darker brown. My hair is still too short for me to be comfortable going out of the house with out the wig. My hair is growing semi-fast...but I can still see scalp. I am excited that I may need to pluck my eyebrows for the first time since March! I have eyelashes growing back in too...happy dance!
Marjie ~ When you say paddle...Are you kayaking? Racing? I love to kayak, my BS told me not to while I had the port in. I got it out at the same time as surgery 2 weeks ago. Can't wait to be healed enought to get back on the water!

I am now 17 weeks PFC, have been topless for the past 7 weeks... my hair is so curly and I naturally have wavy hair, but this is super curly... I colored it at about 13 weeks and it mostly stayed but am thinking of adding highlights... I am a natural blond and had my stylist color it ash blond, but I miss my highlights... I have run into so many people, but for some reason the idea of popping in at work and being seen with this short hair makes me uptight. I think its cause I work at a school.. why else would it make me feel that way... I did run into one of my old students the other day (he is a 9th grader) and he just normally said hello to me, as if he didn't even see my drastic hair difference... kind of reassuring.

Along my hair line it is hardly growing in, my husband says it is because my scarves are rubbing at it. I only wear them in public. Anyone else have the same problem or is it just that those are the slower areas.
As you can tell I am not being very patient with this. I spent it all on the tram flap recovery and the chemo.

EmmaC, I totally had slower areas right behind my hairline. It has nothing to do with your scarves unless you are wearing them super, super tight, which I doubt you are. My hair filled in slower than others, but, at 5.5 months PFC, I finally have full coverage. I could actually use a trim.

Finally took the plunge and went topless yesterday. 14 weeks PFC and about 1/4" long. My hubby told me not to wear the wig. I never wear it at home so he is used to seeing me with out it. We went to the zoo then out to dinner. Funny reactions from people. I was expecting the white but was really surprised at how much dark came in =:0)

EmmaC that was my slow spot too. If you look at my transition linky you can see that issue on the photo dated 3.4.2010. It does eventually fill in.0
-
lago, That is exactly what I look like, but maybe less hair!
Sewingnut, Good for you going topless! My husband says I am going to look weird with hair! I love him!!!!
Today was the first time I went w/o something covering my noggin around my friends. It was just too hot between the hot flashes and the sun.

Emma,
It felt really strange to go out without a covering. I decided to take the leap. Filled in my eyebrows, drew on my eyeliner, slapped on some lipstick and put on some nice earings. I have to say it was a very freeing feeling.
