I used to get irritated with my mom last year when every time I talked with her she'd always  ask if I still had cancer and how I got it..we live in different States...then she got sick earllier this year and couldn't talk at all. When she went into Hospice and I showed up at her bed she took one look at me and cried, and since she couldn't talk or communicate I'll never know if she was crying because she knew this was the end for her and because I was there, or because of how I looked, she passed a few days later. My brother told me she was probably upset because I looked sick (duh!) and he was an Ahole about it like I had a choice! You can pick your friends, but you can't pick your family.

Lady M what are you doing to get your hair so straight and shiny. My hair used to look like that pre-chemo. You look awesome.

I've updated my hair transition linky but to be  honest there's not much new to see since I keep cutting it. I did include my DMV photo from Tuesday. It's been 8 years since I had a new photo. I also removed the donor status from my license. Not eligible to do that anymore.

Thank you so much everyone....so sweet...I'm just so happy to have a hair style again...just takes some patience.

can't remember who was asking what, but coloring- yes I color it now, but it did come back pretty dark, but with a little more grey than I had before.

It did NOT come back straight, it is SO curly, I'll have to put up one when it's curly, thing is I don't have any pics because I get it straightened and it takes about an hour and a half, it's SO thick, not that I'm complaining, but  I love it straight.

The lip color is by MAC (A90) it's a pink pro long wear. I love it and wear it all the time.

    Thanks for all the comments

lago and ladym you both look beautiful!

My hair is so curly in the back and I cannot get them stupid curls to lay down.  I have always had semi curly hair, but not like this.  I guess maybe cause it is short.  I cannot get a flat iron on it yet, may go purchase a mini flat iron.

I just wish it would grow a couple of more inches so I can do something with it, I love it short though and dont know if I will grow it long again.

Just want to say I hope each of you have a great 2012 full of blessings and lots of hair!

ladym13, I ran to the MAC counter today, they said A90 is the lot #, there is a descriptive word above it, do you mind sharing?  If I can't have your hair, I can share the look of your lips.

For all those with rude comments from the elders, I wanted to share that my step-dad is 84, my mom is 67. I adore him. He is a very interesting person to talk to and has never been afraid to speak his mind. I went to visit them recently for a weekend and he asked me why I where the scarf on my head all the time. He said, "You look so much better without it." My mom tried to shush him, but it definitely got me thinking that I need to accept this short hair. When I look at pictures, the scarf does look odd. My hair is about a 1/2" all over now. Last chemo was 10/07/11.

SpecialK: Where can we go to learn more about the parabens? I am using Nioxin. I had some thinning right in front above my bangs and I so wanted it to grow back in thicker. But, it's not worth my life or health! Tell me more.

Jbug parabens is the last ingredient in Nioxen so that means there is very little of it, I used it.

I think I will try Nioxen. I am 13 weeks PFC and the hair is coming in but it is not even. I have a lot more hair at the back, sides, and very front. I have thin patches on either side of my forehead. I look like a guy. I sure hope it evens out.

Wavewhisper, I am just going to tell myself that when my hair starts growing I will be as pretty as she is. Won't happen, obviously, but it is a pleasant fantasy :)

Lago and Ladym-all I can say is gorgeous! Both of you! My hair is finally starting to make progress, but I have male pattern baldness, bald or thin on the top front! What is that all about? I am 9/10 weeks pfc. Finally more dark in there instead of grey.

Bak94, I'm 13 weeks PFC and I have the male pattern baldness thing going on also and my hair is dishwater grey (used to be light auburn). I have no idea if I'm going to get a "proper" head of hair or not. I'd post a pic but I have no clue how to do that.

    cdairth and Bak94

I also have male pattern baldness and have had to use minoxidil ever since I went through menopause; I have a bald brother as well as a balding son so I guess I passed the gene on.  I did not go through chemo however within months of being on tamoxifen I began to loose huge amounts of hair.  I would say I have lost 50% of my hair with it being the most thin and noticeable just where I have male pattern baldness issues.  I have continued to use the minoxidil and slowly I have new hair coming in on the top.........don't know if you have tried it or even want to but I wanted to let you know I do think it has helped me.

I had male pattern baldness too. Don't worry…  it will fill in. I have no idea why the sides and back grow in faster than the top/front.

Thanks for all the compliments. Just smile and you will look great too.

YaYa I think you're my biggest fan. Can I use you as a reference? I'm job hunting. Tongue out

The Skin Deep Cosmetics Database has good information on all kinds of products, cosmetics, lotions, soaps, etc.  www.ewg.org/skindeep  You can search by the item name like Maybelline Great Lash Mascara, or look under the header makeup, find mascara and they are rated from best to worst with a number rating.  Nioxin products are rated with a "moderate hazard" rating - which is in the middle.

YAY christine...so glad you found it....also not sure who was asking me but the mascara I use is 'kiss me mascara' it is the ONLY mascara I use... it is magic...I swear, my eyelashes NEVER look that good without it.

Ladym, I think you need to contact MAC, they need to use you as a spokesperson!  I'll be stopping by my MAC tomorrow to pick up that lipstick.  Makeup is definitely a weakness for me.

Took grandad and a friend to Ruby Tuesdays yesterday and all he did was look at my head and laugh.  Seriously, I'm just disgusted with him, I don't care if I'm supposed to get over it because he's lost his filter or whatever.  I don't need to put up with that, forget asking him to keep his comments to himself, he just thinks I'm over sensitive.  At one point he laughed at me and I gave him a good glare, he laughed again and said ooohhh someone's mad.

We'll see how much he's laughing when no one is visiting him anymore.  I just so damn tired of having my feelings hurt and I need a break.

Actually I used a semi permanent color on my hair and I have to say I think I really like my new look, of course I'm letting it grow but I think this is doable untill then.  Can't wait to go with a funkier color next time.

Ladym, you do look gorgeous! My DD, she just turned 14, asked for all kinds of MAC makeup for Christmas. She does a great job with makeup. Now with your rec as well, I am going to get some for myself.

I just had to share...I went topless right before Christmas and everyone has been really complimentary at work but my husband and I went to the Mall and a woman stopped me to compliment me on my haircut. That felt really good.

On the other hand, I am losing my eyelashes and eyebrows again. I wasnt surprised as I have read that it happens and I know they will grow back quickly, it is just a bummer. Chemo, the gift that just keeps giving.

Oh well, I am happy and healthly and look forward to a healthly 2012!
