    ChickaD,

I finished chemo in march, still have herceptin and my hair is growing in well, so don't worry!

Rockym and Jen, I know exactly what you mean! I'm nowhere near the pony length yet (unfortunately!) but the wig I wore all through was a shorter style than my own much longer hair and the style got me loads of compliments! I'd really love to get back to the 'real' me, but wonder if keeping it shorter might not be a better idea. I only have about 2 1/2 inches of hair at the moment, so I have a bit of time to think about it - I'll be watching to see what you do!

I admire you guys for considering keeping your hair short. I don't think I'll get to that point until my hair is all the way back to normal. I got a lot of compliments, too...but I haven't felt like myself so it doesn't really register with me. Fingers are crossed that when I get my trim today it'll allow for some sort of normal style! I'm headed to Maui next week and plan on making it very clear that I can't lose my ponytail when she cuts it, lol!

I am now 17 months PFC and have had 10 haircuts. I am keeping it short and it's still super curly, especially in the back.

Lizzy in MI: Once your hair takes off, it will take off...I was 8 weeks PFC when I gave up my wig completely! My head was covered with hair and it was good enough for me. Here's a pic of me and my husband at my son's wedding.

Thank you. My DIL had it framed and gave it to us for x-mas. My nephew took the pic. I cried! It's my favorite picture of the two of us.

I had Herceptin for a year in total too. It slowed the growth a little, but it still grew. I finished H last February and have had my hair trimmed a couple times to even things up as the top catches up to the sides and back. At the back its now its almost to my shoulder. I can't wait until its all the same length again.

    Great video!

I am not sure where to put this, so if this should be put somewhere else, just let me know. So, here it goes. lol I am so tired of waiting on my hair to grow back that I want to get extensions. My hair is long enough to get them, I just don't know what kind to get. I have had a few consultations and each hair stylist recommends a different kind. I want to get them before next weekend when we go on vacation. Any ideas or suggestions or information period?!? TIA!

    Hi,

I had to laugh yesterday. This cashier said that she liked my hair. She liked the way the grey on the sides blended into the dark hair.I thanked her. I am trying to let my hair grow for the winter.

    Karen - great picture!

I would LOVE to have my hair even that length. I've always been a short haired girl so if I just had more coverage on my head at this point, I'd be happy!

Carroll you should see some of Karen's wedding photos. OMG Kjiberty you better not let it grow long!

I was talking to my cab driver a few days ago. We were discussing our favorite Pakistani restaurant on Devon. (We have the same fav.) I mentioned the food isn't the healthiest he replied "Hey you gotta live. If you don't, god won't let you into heaven. He will throw you back to earth and tell you to finish your life."

At least is was very funny when he said it. Really a fun cab ride.

Am I the only person that has hair with a mind of its own? no matter what product I put on it, no matter how I try to brush it, it just sticks up wherever it wants!! The back is fine - sorta waves around, looks nice but the top - that is still about 1 1//2 inches but it sticks up but not really stylish-not spiky- just crazy like.. LOL It sure isn't anything like the hair I use to have..

that would be me. Mine goes in more directions than the wind. And if that's not goofy enough, only one side is curly, the rest straight.

There are probably lots of answers to this question earlier in this thread, but maybe some of you can help me out without my having to search through all 635 pages! I am 5 months post chemo and hate to complain, because I am thankful that my hair has grown back enough to completely cover my scalp, but I hate this puffy, wooly, curly hair. (My avatar pic was taken today.) My hair has always been thick, but straight, and I made peace with the gray long ago.

I don't want to spend money on straightening processes / treatments, but what about good, affordable "sculpting products" for curly hair. I've never needed to use anything like that. Any recommendations?

Annie - I love the look of your hair - I am at 6 months post chemo and I don't have as much hair as you do yet.. anyway, my daughter told me to get Paul Mitchell sculpting foam. . she said it'll help but still keep hair soft.. maybe others have different suggestions..

AnnieLane you might want to keep trimming it a lot you may find the curls kind of grow out as the new healthy hair grows in. My ends still kind of look like I grew out a perm.

IamNancy, thanks, I'll look for the Paul Mitchell Sculpting Foam. Carrol, yes I think I will be keeping it pretty short for awhile. I have my next trim scheduled.

Carrol: My hair is still very, very curly in the back (I love it). How long was it before you lost your curl. I am 17 months PFC
