Please pray for me.  I have a blood level of alkaline phosphatase which could suggest mets to bone or liver.  I'm frightened and need to feel the Lord's presence.  Please pray that the bone scan that I'll be having this week would not show cancer.  Thanks!

Thank you Ladies.  I believe that God does hear our cries for mercy.  Please continue to pray.  I will have a bone scan and more labwork done this week.  The waiting is very difficult as I'm sure each of you has experienced.

"Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for You are the One I praise."

"If I may but touch His garment, I shall be whole"

"take heart daughter. Your faith has healed you".

O Lord, Your promises never wax old. Please send healing to Rocket, and to all those we have in our minds and hearts. Please comfort her as she waits for her results. Our lives are in Your hands, Lord, and to Whom more loving, more compassionate, more merciful, more faithful, could we entrust them?

Hi Ladies, I so admire your faith and prayers.  I am guessing my faith is very weak.  I have cried out to the Lord many times since my diagnosis and have sensed nothing.  What is wrong with me ?  Why can't I find spiritual peace ?

JFV...(((hugs))) nothing is wrong with you. You don't have to be strong...our strength is in Him not in ourselves. Jesus said he came to those who need a physican, for those who are sick. Those who don't need help do not rely on God as much as those who know that they need help.

Jesus Words give peace. I find His Words comforting. Read Psalms 103 As...When I am down, I read His Word until His love breaks through...But, you also need the body of Christ to embrace you on your bc journey. The body of Christ (not a building) has arms...His arms are all of us who believe. We are here for you.  I'll be praying that God gives you peace... JfV.

    JFV,

The BC journey is long, with many peaks and valleys.  There were times when I asked Jesus why I could not hear His voice.  In due time, He answered me.  I considered myself a good Christian before dx, but in reality I was merely going through the motions, with no real depth behind my beliefs. When I got sick, I began to really see, hear, and feel God's presence and His love, that made me wonder in amazement.  I read the Psalms, which were immensely helpful, I read Isaiah (I had a Mammogram technician quoting me verses from this book when she saw me crying during my follow-up mammogram - I felt this to be God's voice - I had read so little of the OT before, and it is incredibly beautiful, filled with God's promises.) I read Judges and Kings, and learned why God loved Abraham and David so.

So many friends offered words of comfort - particularly helpful was one friend who told me that God must really love me to share His cross with me.  I drew great comfort from that thought.  I also asked Him to help me carry this cross.  I pray every day that I will survive this disease and see my children grow up.  Sometimes it gets too hard to think about what could happen.  I try to put a stop to those thoughts when they come and remind myself that my life is in His hands, always was and always will be, and that there is no one more faithful to Whom I could entrust it. I remember, too, that Jesus always provides the healing, but that we must provide the faith, for all those whom He healed believed that He could do what they asked.

I pray that you will find peace, comfort, and healing from His words and His promises, for He is the Source of life and the Giver of all good things, to Whom be glory forever. "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words will never pass away."

I just wanted to share some of my own insights, which quite a few were inspired from the movie Soul Surfer, the movie about the young girl who lost her arm in a shark attack ... it's a very inspirational movie ...

Jeremiah 29:11 is quoted in the movie and states "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."   Often what you think is one of your greatest defeats or challenges is something God is using to give you more blessing and influence than you ever imagined.  Often we don't understand why we face the struggles in our life.  We only understand them with perspective that comes with time.

Compassion can drive us to do amazing things and give us perspective.  If you are feeling down or hopeless, the best remedy is often helping someone less fortunate than yourself.  It can also allow you to give of yourself to others, especially those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.   We can all help each other by sharing our stories and being there for each other.

    Namaste!

    Trinity

God has been huge in helping me get through this rough journey. The power of prayer and His word, is the best physical and emotional healing we can get. Before my second lumpectomy, God gave me this scripture Isaiah 58:8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning. Your healing shall spring forth speedily. , also Psalm 30:2 O Lord , my God, I cryed out to you, and you have healed me. We need to hold on to His promises Smile

Genia, thank you for starting this thread!

I had a very similar experience as yours, and just wanted to share it ...

I was at a shopping center with my mother when I received "the call" from my doctor, telling me that I had breast cancer.  I was on my cell phone, and I just knelt to the floor on my knees and started crying.  A woman came up to my mother and asked if I was OK.  My mother proceeded to tell her that I just received some bad news from my doctor that I had cancer.  The woman then started talking to me, and hugged me and said a healing prayer with her arms around me.  She then told me that her son had a church and he was a minister.  She asked my name, and told me that she would have the church members say a prayer for me the following Sunday.  She even invited my mother and I to attend the church services when I was feeling better.

The woman's name was Jewel, and I believe she was truly a precious gem.   God works in mysterious ways, and when I was at my lowest of lows, she appeared when I needed someone to comfort me.  I do believe that we have God and angels watching over us.  And, Jewel was a Godsend and truly heaven sent.  I'll never forget her.

    Trinity927,

That's a beautiful story.  Thanks for sharing it.  I do believe that God puts angels where and when they're most needed...and I hope to offer someone some encouragement when they most need it, just as it happened for me.

It is so true that God makes His presence known when we need Him most.  I too have shed many a tear on the bc journey, and at times have felt like God wasn't listening.  I would pick up my Bible and begin to read and sure enough, He would speak to me from the pages of His word.  I am not afraid so much of dying as I am of saying goodbye to those that I love.  I also don't like suffering, but God uses this suffering for my good.  He draws me to Himself when I am at my weakest.  I will have my bone scan on Wednesday.  I am afraid of the results, but I always remind myself that the proof of His love is the cross and not my circumstance.  I pray for healing and hope for each of us.
