Father in Heaven, Help us to have hope by surrounding us
with hopeful people. Help us not to receive bad news as though
it the last edition, but rather as one piece of information afloat
on the river of facts flowing into a hopeful future. Heal us, We
pray, not for our sake or anyone else's, but for Your sake. And
ground our hope in the reality of Your profound and enduring

When a seed is planted in soil, what does it need in order to
grow? Water, nutrients, ansd light. All things being equal, the seed
should sprout and the plant should grow to maturity. What if you
planted a seed and then placed a brick near it? It would get less
direct sunlight. Place another brick near it, and even less sunshine
would be available. As a result, the plant would be stunted.
If what we need is the sunlight of God's love to shine fully
upon us in prayer, we must be sure nothing interferes with His
direct sunlight, Unfortunately, we often place bricks around
ourselves, such as: The brick of fear
The brick of worry
The brick of anger
The brick of hatred
The brick of doubt
The brick of skepticism
The Brick of self-sufficiency( trusting ourselves instead of the
sufficiency of God's will for us.)
Like a seed planted on in soil, imagine God's light
shining on you. Realize that you may have inadvertently
placed those bricks around yourself that inhibit the warmth and full-
ness of God's sunlight from reaching you. Ask Him to reveal and
remove anything that might shade You from His love.

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the life You have given me,
and the enternal life promised through Your Son, Jesus Christ.
Take my disease away, O God, and draw it to Yourself along
with my sins, my worries, and my fears, Lord if You want me
to live, help me learn what I can do to help You bring healing in
my body. Bless and make wise my doctors and all that tend to
