Karina, I've before gone back to smoking before. However, as our lisamarie says...just for today, I will not smoke. Don't be so hard on yourself....it works to break it down into doable sections of time! Welcome btw!

Hi Sistas! I am finally home. What started out to be an overnight adventure turned out to be something totally different. I so did not want to be close to the hospital on my birthday - must have jinxed myself on that one. Anyway, I am home and resting. So much to catch up on - I will try and to back and read later. Never thought of having a cig once while I was in. Hope everyone is doing well.

Welcome Barbara - Don't remember if we have met already. Congrats on 4 days. Weekends were also the hardest for me. I live with a smoker so double the tough time but have made it through. This is the best bunch of ladies on the planet. They all have such good advice, tips and are a great source of encouragement and support.
Hi lisamarie - Really missed you girlfriend.
Heading to bed - I'm really tired and just took a pain pill so sleep is calling me.

Jo.... Hope you had a great birthday yesterday (29th, right ) and are resting comfortably today! Sending healing thoughts your way!

Dear Jo, hope you slept well last night, you need good restorative sleep to help you heal. Don't be trying to do things quickly, just rest. It must feel grand to be home again, and a Happy Belated Birthday to you!!! love and hugs, Karen

Seaside - My birthday is the 21st which was yesterday.
I did not sleep well last night. I do have an adjustable bed but don't think I got it set right. Besides, I had to keep from turning over on my left side which is the surgery side. I think I am going to use the recliner tonight and then I have to stay on my back. Haven't done a whole lot today. Took 2 naps. DH helped me cook dinner. I sat and told him what to do when - that sure felt good to do that - LOL! Had to take a pain pill - the drain sites are bothering me - no real pain just a constant ache. Just paid a few bills on line and now headed to my chair for the rest of the night.
Karen - It feels wonderful to be home. The shower this morning was super.
Hope everyone had a great weekend.
Hugs

Jo: I haven't checked in for a couple of days. I was so sorry to hear you had problems. Glad you are home. Definitely try a recliner. That's what I did, I slept in it for ages! Get your pillow and a soft, warm blanket and just snuggle down into it. I actually liked sleeping in the recliner.
I've changed my avatar picture. The ladies on my OvCa board wanted us to light a candle and pray each Sunday night at 7pm for all our cancer sisters having recurrences or other problems. I bought a teal candle, then thought, I can't leave out my BC sisters, so I got a pink candle too and will be praying for all of you!

Jo, after my friend had hip surgery she slept in a recliner for months, as Bama said it keeps you from going to your side and is quite comfy. How long are you going to play the operation card to get DH up and doing your bidding, bet you could get 3 - 4 weeks out of it, LOL. Could also play the non-smoking card, since it makes you cough and that really hurts the operation site!!!! Hope this night's sleep is better, so glad you are taking naps too! hugs, Karen

Bama, Love, love, love the candle and prayer idea, I may adopt that idea at my house, have a 20% discount card for Michaels, it is a huge craft, candle, jewelry...store, don't know if you have them down there.I have checked this past 2 Sat.'s for spring football, don't have it up here, getting so I like golf! hugs, Karen

Karen - The operation card will last until I get the drains out. DH is already fussing because he has to do more around the house. I am just ignoring him - he does stuff anyway - fussing or not. And I do know what Michaels is. I prefer Hobby Lobby - they have fabric and I am a quilter but that is just me.
Bama - Love the candle and prayer idea. More of us should adapt that in our homes.
