    hi ladies...

I was just talking to my friend Debbie, she the one that went to my same 1st PS which get this gave her style 45 which you'd think is good but it was only 280cc.  They are only 10 by 4.6.  At 1st we thought she had mentor high profile 275 but these are even smaller diameter.  I shared with her to go for 375 or 400 high profile mentor which they are 12 by 4.8 and 12.2 by 5.0.  She has a 30 inch rib cage if I remember right.  So from that I think her implant should be at least 12cm why our 1st PS gave her one at only 10 cm is beyond me.  Our new pS had mentioned the mod plus but I'm afraid they will be flat on her.  375 would be 12.8 by 4.  She shared she wants to keep her projection so to do that she'll have to go with high profile.  I'm excited to see how things go for her...

Sandy, Deb and any other implant sizing guru-- How do you determine the size implant you feel is appropriate?  I see the web sites where the specs are listed, but do not know how you decide which size is appropriate.  I am just wondering if my implant size is incorrect.  I am just not happy with the look of the implants (after two revisions). for me my TE were 12.7 wide and I liked that on me

    I have a 29 inch rib cage

my 1st PS gave me a implant that was only 11.4 wide

my TE had 430cc my implant had 450...we only looked at CC you can't do that

so I knew for my 2nd exchange I needed a implant to be at least 12.7cm

for anyone that has a 29-31 inch rib cage I would suggest a 12cm - 13cm diameter implant at least

1stmate if you want share your info and we'll see if you have what we would of picked

tell us what style TE you had...how many CC it would hold...how many CC you were filled too

from that we can look up and find out the dim of your TE... if you know that please share...

size of your rib cage below your breast where your bra band would be?

OK, so where are the FULL figured women on here?  A 29 rib cage? I don't think I've been that since i was like 12!  I don't have any idea what size implant my PS is going to use. He knows that I want to be a D and I definately want my Ta-ta's to be noticeable and porportionate. I'm not a teenie weenie sort of gal.

    Cookymkr,

I have a 28 inch rib cage and am in fact well over 12!  No offense, everyone is looking for information from someone who is similar to their size.  In fact my 47th birthday is tomorrow.

Attention Sizing Experts or Someone of a Similar Size

My PS is going to use Natrelle Style 20 (high profile) 400 ml silicone implants which according to the chart are 11.9 cm in diameter with a 5.0 cm projection.  I am 5' 3" and 108 lbs..  I want to be a C cup and my PS was going to use 375 ml implants but changed his mind when he was able to put more into my TEs than he anticipated at my final fill.  My TEs are currently at 270 mls.

Great news!  Today I finally found out my exchange was scheduled (for 7/2) when DH has a big project going on at work and my stepdaughter needs to be taken to and picked up from volleyball camp.  I don't care!  We will make it work!  I am not waiting an extra day with these awful TEs!  DH is already working to find people to cover for him.  DH is so wonderful!

I am soooooooooo happy the TEs are going away!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cookymkr, I'm with you!  I have been very intimidated by posting pics and posts of my size mostly because everybody here seems to be so petite and small.  I'm hoping everybody feels comfortable here sharing sizes and whatnot, so please those of use who are more full figured come out of the woodworks!  I had my exchange March 10th and my ps had put in 2 different size implants...I really wanted bigger only because I was use to bigger and wanted something similar to what I was before bc.  I kept having tearing on the bottom half of my breasts...ever since my te's were put in.  I had lots of scaring and my dear ps kept sewing me up...so the last time sewing me up he saw how sad I was and said the only thing to fix this would be a lat flap.  This way I would have new skin with muscle and tissue to support it and he could put in new implants.  SO he fit me in to surgery and I just had the lat flap done May 26th.  My ribcage is 33 and he put in natrelle 20-700.  There is a bit of a flat part of both of them but for the most part I like the shape and size.  He said as time goes by they will fil out...as the girls here say it "fluff", plus there is room for nips.  (I had originally had a nipple sparing bilateral mast. and my nips didn't recover too well and as much as I was attached to them being my own, I'm happy to be getting nicer looking ones.)

Good luck this Thursday!  I will be thinking of you and saying prayers for a great outcome and quick healing!  The exchange for me was a sinch (sp).  Healing very quick and smooth, I hope the same for you!  This lat flap has been a bigger surgery and recovery has been a bit more dificult.

Anyway, I hope for all of you gals wonderful outcomes!  There are so many gals here that know their implants and have been very helpful to all, thanks so much!!

    HUGS! JazzyJ

June 22 is my exchange...I am scared and excited..I hear the difference that the exchange is making for others and am looking forward to the difference...I am not wanting to have any more surgery and I am not sure if I fully trust my ps...I don't care for his bed side ways and he does not give me the encouragement that I would like..however he does do a good job..I am tired of being uncomfortable..sometimes it wears on me. I have been back to work and working 12 hours and moving patients and lifting is still very uncomfortable... sleeping is uncomfortable too. My Nursing assistants do a lot to help me out so I don't have to move as many but it still bits the big butt sometimes.. I am so proud when I come on here of all the ladies that go through all of this and are so stronge... It seems that you ladies let nothing get you down and move forward...I am thankful that you are all hear...I know I don't write much but I know you are here if I need you....I am looking for what I should expect after the exchange...How much pain? How long will it last? do I see a difference right away? How long does it usually take to get back on your feet??? when can I plan on going to be able to go back to work? When can I lift patients?? Is it still norm. to have chest pressure and feel like I broke ribs ? will this pain go away with the exchange?

    Hi Trudy,

I still had the pressure and rib pain up to the day of my exchange.  I just had mine June 2, and these new implants are SO much softer.  As for the pain now, I haven't had much in that area.  I guess because I still don't have any feeling there, and I had a lift underneath wih nip recon, too.  I had a hysterectomy too so I'm a little sore in that area.  I went back to work yesterday, taking it easy through the day, but the PS says NO lifting!  Also, that weird pec muscle feeling is still there, so I guess that's due to the implant placement under the muscle.  What can you do?Undecided

Jazzy, my prayers are with you to get your drains out Thurs.

cookymkr, Hope your exchange goes well.

    Sending healing vibes out today!

Robin:  Describe what you are not liking about your implants.  Could you post photos on the picture's forum?

Deb and Sandy -- My rib cage is 31.5 inches.  I was expanded to 650cc,  Implants are Mentor Smooth Round High Gel - 700 cc.   I wanted to be a C cup.  Now the right breast is a full C, but the left is a D.  I have an indent at the top of the left (after 2 revisions), and I think it looks kind-of square, instead of rounded.  I don't have good cleavage, and it is worse in a push-up bra.    I also don't have a good inframammary fold on either breast, but left is worse than the right.   I am wondering if I would do better with a smaller implant.  Believe it or not, I do not have a digital camera to post pics.  Can you use the camera on a cell phone?

Robin:  You can use a camera on a cell-phone but you will need to download it to Microsoft to your pictures folder.  I'll PM you.  I am amazed you have that ribcage dimension with 700 cc's in a HP and you have a C/D cup.  I would think DD or DDD perhaps.....Are you sure you have HP's and not a moderate profile?  Do you have the specific style number and dimensions of your implants?  Just the style number would work and I can look it up.

Hi Everyone,  WOW a lot happens fast around here.  I've been off for a while except a couple of posts here and there.  I had a stitch from the Alloderm that has been poking at my skin for a while, my PS has been watching it, doesn't want it to poke through and risk infection with chemo still going on.  Last week she took 30 cc out of that side to relieve some of the stress on my skin. She said she will put it back in later, but my fills are on hold for now and not sure if we can keep going much more.  I had planned to get about 50 more so we'll wait and see - BOOHOO!  Made it through my 5 of 8 treatments, I think that I had geared myself up so much to just make it through the first 4 AC (the worse stuff) that after I made it that far it was kind of depressing that I still had 4 more.  Spent a lot of down days and crying that this will never end, but trying to get back up now and looking to the end on July 16.  You all have had so much done in the last couple of weeks and have been so strong through it all, I'm trying to gather some strength from you.  Your trip to Vegas sounds great - how wonderful that you will all be able to meet each other after going through so much together!  HUGS from me, Dawn

    Ladies,

I hope everyone is well. All of you REMAIN in my daily prayers. God is taking are of us. Although this journey has been a challenge, your willingness to share and be so candid and helpful on this site has been AMAZING for me. Thanks to all of you.

I have a general concern and question for whomever may have some insight.

I have been waiting for my exchange (scheduled 6/26), with things going well.  BUT, in the past 2 days, on my left breast at the very end of my stiches, I've developed a red, sore, swollen spot. It seems to be isolated to 1-2 stiches at the end nearest to the cleavage.  What could this be? Should I be in contact with the PS?  Note, I just opened my swimming pool. The water is chemically balanced / clean, ... I don't want to mess up now. ANY Ideas / thoughts?  Georganne

Georganne - I would let your PS know right now, since you are so close to your exchange date.  Maybe you could take a picture and email it to your doctor's office. It is probably something you could treat with topical antibiotics and watch and wait, but you have an important date coming up and you do want to get it cleared up.

Georganne - I would contact your PS to make sure, but just before my exchange I got a red sore spot along my incision (over the weekend, so the PS did not see it) and was on antibiotics for it. Then just after my exchange it happened again and this time was able to see my PS who said it was a stitch that needed to absorb on its own. I hope that's what you have. Best wishes!

    Deborah + Mykidsmom,

Thank you for your help.  I will contact PS tomorrow morning.  Deb, I am praying especially for you to get great results.

Yvonne - I am so gald you're okay. I'd not logged on for a week, ... God was certainly watching over you. Congrats on Ella!!!!

Each of you ladies - Hugs and prayers continue to go out for you. God loves us + will help us - even through the tears.  BTW - I've been "weepy" for some reason too????

    Love to all, Georganne

    Ladies, I have a question.

For those of you who had Chemo and other Port drugs like Herceptin...etc...

Did you have your exchange and leave your port in for awhile?

I am having my exchange July 20th and will still need 6 more treatments of Herceptin..

TRACEY... if you are around... when did you take your port out?

    Thank you!

firstmate... this was my reply I gave on the pix forum...

firstmate from what you said you have 700cc high profile implants
if that's right they would be 14.8 by 5.7
to me I think the implants look too wide
from the front view they look a little flat
I think this might be because they are wider than your TE and makeing the skin that wants to go out go flat from the width
do you know what style and size of TE you had
did you like the width of those better?
the 550cc high profile would be 13.6 by 5.5
or the new ultra high profile
one choice could be 640cc... 13.1 by 6.8
my 2nd exchange was a super easy surgery
    you deserve to be happy
if that means finding a new PS I would do that
    thanks for posting your pix
I hope we can help you out

Jean I almost hate to ask...

but could you add this mentor web site so we can have the ultra high profile implants also

it took me a few minutes to find it back again...

I don't car if you want to delete one of the other ones and add this one or have all three

Laura I didn't have a chemo port but I had a port with my expandable implant that I had put in when I had my 2nd exchange

I had it removed when I had my nipple surgery

if your hoping for that (nipples) could you have it removed than...

Sandy/Sunshine - Thanks for your advice.  The expanders were Mentor Siltex Low Height Contour Profile expanders with fill volume of 650cc.  Reference number 354-6115.  It was hard to tell whether they were the right size or not, because I had folds in each one that distorted the shape.  Looks like I am back to square 1.  It is so depressing!

Firstmate...keep the faith that everything will turn out fine

from the charts I got that your TE were 15.7 wide by 11.2 hight by 7.9 projection

so the hight of your TE was 11.2 I think the current 14.8 hight is too tall ( & wide) and is what might be giving that drop off indent look maybe

just a total guess from a gal that's trying to help

if there are other gals here from Phoenix AZ please share some good PS for her to check out and get a 2nd opinion froom someone that also has a degree but I really think Deb and I know what were talking about lol

    Julie,

Happy that you've gotten a date for exchange, you'll love getting rid of those turtle shells.

I just had mine done last Thursday, I feel great, it's 5 days out.  I also had 400cc style 20 put in.  I'm 5'1" and 109lbs.  They look perfect, and feel soft.  I still have the surgery bra on, don't know yet what cup size, whatever it is, I think I will like it.  When I still had the TE's, they were filled to 300cc (on left) and 350cc (on right), the right one gave me a 5cm projection and 12cm base, so my PS went with those dimensions.  I'm glad she did.

Good luck to your special day!

    Laura,

I had my exchange 5 days ago, and still have 10 more Herceptin to go (until Christmas).  I am keeping my port until next year.  Maybe I'll have it taken out when I do the nipples part and all the tests showed good news.

Hey Laura, I went through chemo still have my port and have had 2 exchanges.  :-)  I have herceptin treatments until Nov. and there is NO WAY I will have treatments without it!  My veins suck!  My ps didn't have any problems working around it.
