imkopy - I don't know where you are, but VInnie does make trips to other parts of the country and one of the ladies on BCO has found another guru in Southern Ca.

It's the LA Ink guy, if I'm not mistaken. Someone on BC.org used him. Great work.

imkopy2, I met a woman on this site who had nip recon in Chicago. She says that she's had nurses tell her how lucky she was to have been able to save her nipples--they couldn't tell the difference! I can ask her who her PS was. I'm pretty sure she also had radiation.

Thank you so much Lesli...I saw your message, I'm going to call tomorrow and make an appointment.

East Coast, I don't think I was thinking about the LA Ink artist, I may be thinking of the one who was on Botched. I swear we need a folder to keep all of our info straight on BCO...such a wonderful resource!

Imkopy, I had Cory Miller, from LA Ink do mine! They are amazing! He is in Upland CA. His shop is Six Feet Under. We had a retreat this last weekend with my cancer support group from my church and showed 2 ladies my tats and one said " Don't tell me those are flat!" She said they look so real,

Imkopy2. . .implants were 300cc for both original exchange and revision. UHP just meant more projection up front and less in circumference size. I had the 3D tats done at PS's office because insurance covered it completely.

    Tara:

My PS and nurse pulled out samples of brands based on the discussion of textured vs smooth (going smooth), cohesive gel and round vs anatomical (going round). I believe most PSs probably have favorite brands they use. Or multiple brands.

PugsMama. . .thanks for posting the link. I'm glad to see a Vinnie trained artist who works at MUSC in Charleston. We have family there.

Tara - in addition to the samples & discussion with your PS, we have a wonderful resource here at BCO. Take a look at this "breast implant sizing 101". Read the entire header and then you can post the specs requested along with your questions for Whippetmom. She is amazing.

Tara- It seems to me each PS has their preferred brand. My new PS told me he prefers Mentir because sizing is in a simple number format, I'm sure it also deoends on the perks the sales rep offers them. As for the style I would say your PS should be able to guide you, if not find a new one.

Pugsmom- Thank you for the link I'm going to check that out.

Scottiesmom- Im going to look him up for sure.

Robin, I definitely wasn't thinking of Corey, I was thinking of Jason Lewis. Did insurance cover or did you pay out of pocket? If so may I ask how much?

Thank you everyone for your guidance...muah

Tara17 - I had my exchange June 6, my PS only uses Mentor, I would have liked to feel other brands, but in the end they seem fine, my implants are round and smooth.

Imkopy, I had tattoos at PS office 2 years ago and they were covered. But shortly after they lost the 3D appearance and looked like the Target 🎯 sign at the mall. I found Corey Miller and paid $600, worth every penny! The ink used at PS is medical/cosmetic ink. The tattoo parlor uses permanent ink. I am very happy now.

Hi Ladies! I've been away from the board because of family things:

My son with autism (age 21) graduated from High School on June 13.

My daughter (with major depression, anxiety, and panic attacks) graduated from High School on June 20.

My CC surgery is coming up this Friday, June 30. Been on the phone all week with last minute details. My PS group works both out of the hospital, and in their own outpatient surgery center. Due to some scheduling changes, they've changed my location twice. It's a little nerve-wracking. Also, I had to track down my anesthesia records from previous surgeries b/c I don't want a repeat of the horrible nausea I've had on two previous surgeries.

Hubby finally decided to take PTO to be available for drop off and pick up. He's just getting back this evening from a 5-day business trip.

Mominator. . .congrats to bother you're ASD kiddos. Best wishes for your surgery. I too get horrible nausea if they do not follow my "works for me" protocol - anesthesiologist screwed that up for BMX because he did not listen to me.

Mominator- Congrats to the graduates! I will keep you in my prayers for a successful surgery, hope to see you on the board soon.

Robin- I love target just like any woman but I certainly don't want their logo on my chest 😉 I have heard about the medical grade ink not being a very permanent solution. Im glad you were lucky enough to be able to cocker up the previous job without affecting your final result. I decided long ago I'll pay whatever the cost if need be, $600 isn't too bad. I do however feel for our warrior sisters who aren't as fortunate financially.

Wishing all of you a safe holiday weekend, Mominator get your rest sweetie and get some R&R.

It has just now been six weeks since my exchange surgery I have 800 CC natrelle smooth round silicone and today I noticed that all of a sudden it's softening up and towards the bottom of the Inframamary fold it's gotten very soft and now I have on my right breast which had a lumpectomy in 2008 where that scar is it kind of has a rather large indentation does anybody know is it normal for them to soften up like this it's a lot more comfortable because they were so swollen that they were up under my collar bones but I'm just curious before I call the doctor??

new_me: I'm a DES baby too...I had my ovaries removed when I found out I was BRCA2+ (& uterus bc it was such a mess) & was scheduled for prophylactic mastectomies after that. 4 days before my surgery Myriad decided my mutation didn't cause an increase in BC risk (even though my mom, who had BC, has the same mutation) so the insurance co. wouldn't pay for it. Fast forward & here I am today. You're so fortunate (& smart) to have the prophylactic mastectomies!

Pugsmama, comforting to hear from someone else who is a DES baby. When i had my hysterectomy the surgeon removed ovaries, tubes, uterus, cervix because of abnormalities and the mutation . My uterus was the classic DES shape (tiny and T shaped)

Both of my sisters are BRCA2+ and each developed breast cancer (one died). I am the only brca2+with DES. My mother is 91 and BRCA2+. Her mother died of ovarian cancer. Mom had ovaries removed years ago and so far no bc.

I am all done with pre-op. Previous general surgery case is running late. They are estimating about an hour wait.

They allowed hubby in to wait with me, and my phone.

Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers. I couldn't have my index card (with your names) with me in the OR, but I did have it in my locker and in my mind.

It was a long day, and the previous surgery ran quite late.

Good news, while waiting for previous case, I received an entire liter of IV fluids, plus I drank 7 whole 16.9 bottles yesterday. I was well-hydrated.

I wasn't nauseous after surgery. Yeah!

    I'm home and resting.

The hard lump on Lefty is gone. I've taken 1/2 pill of Percocet, and left is very achy right now, and much worse if I move my arm. Trying to keep my left arm still.

Some funny stories, but I'm to tired to post.
