((Lisa)) Dear God, you have summed it up so well! I too wish I could have read this before my exchange, you are right on about the time leading up to the exchange. It is a roller coaster ride that you just can't get off of. Here is praying that when you wake up the worst part of the ride is over and you get that feeling of exilleration for reward for endurance. I can't wait to hear from you, your wit and honesty are very refreshing.
Off to see the PS this morning, I sure have some questions about big fipples now. If there is no way around a ginormous lump, I think I will opt for a tattooed 3-D fipple. Yikes, what a pain in the tit. I still would like to make a trip to NC to see Earlene for the tattoo's. I have looked at local websites for tattoo's and none of them compare to Earlene's site. One of the more renoun artist here in So Cal had deep raspberry colored looking areola's on her website. I have never seen flesh that color. maybe the color fades? Jan

Although I dont know who's work you saw, the color fades. Also, you must remember- Some people want raspberry, others want beige, etc. But the realism needs to be there. There are other sites that show nipple realism. See mine, www.facecrafter.com and Melany Whitney, and a site called www.cosmetictattoo.com just to give you an idea.
This work can be very beautiful, and natural when done by someone with talent. Take care

Jan and Georganne - Had my nipples done on 6/17. At first I thought mine were HUGE but they did shrink in the healing process. They are now just small bumps. Once I get my tattoos I will be very please with them.
I did not watch the process but there was a lot of skin twisting and suturing. LOL

Lisa - Great pictures! I love the T-shirt! Your husband is a hoot. You should be through your exchange by now. I hope you are feeling okay and I bet you are beautiful! Take care!
Dani - I am so glad you are through surgery and have little pain! Congratulations!
I see my PS next week to discuss the nip procedure, but it sounds like the same as some of you have been describing. I understand that they reduce in size over time.
Have a great weekend ladies!

Laura,
Darn I will miss Vegas. I will be there for a trade show from Sept 14-18th. Y'all have a great time!!!

Laura-Thanks for your concern. I had a very long visit with the PS discussing my issues, options, and the nipple procedure. I got upset, the PS got upset, but we got through it. He thinks I should just do the nipples next, and then decide whether to change to narrower, smaller implants and a fat graft after the nipple. I just don't know; but, anyway I can't do anything for a month. I am on steroids now for a stupid injury. I ran into a sea urchin when I was snorkeling and have a deep penetrating injury to my knee. So stupid!! I have to take the steroids for at least a week and the PS won't do surgery until 3 weeks after the steroids are stopped. So, I am in the wait mode.

Robin: Why get a nipple if you might get another style/size of implant? It would likely be off kilter....
So where do you snorkel in Phoenix? Tee, hee, hee.
But I am so sorry about your knee injury. I just injured my knee last weekend also, but mine was due to being dragged through my sister's rock/cactus garden by my dog. I'll have a nasty scar by the time we go to Vegas.
Anyway Robin....I am in the same place you are. I am not sure what I am going to do - more fat grafts - or maybe a larger implant. So I am not doing nipples until I decide what to do. Heck, with Georganne talking about going to Google Earth to see her friend's nipples, I think I can hold off on WALNUT [Jan ] sized nipples. I have to make sure my sister reads Georganne's post.....she is FOREVER using Google Earth...

((Judy)) Thanks for your help I went to both sites, but I couldn't get in to see any pictures of your work or Liza's. I clicked on the pigmentation icon and nothing would come up, so I am not using the site correctly. Thanks for letting me know that the color fades, I didn't want a glow in the dark arreola that would work as a night light. I won't be doing anything for awhile, but will have fipples done before the end of the year so that I don't have to pay another big deductible.
I did see my PS today and he is very happy with his work. I have to admit it has been a month and the breasts are beginning to settle. I am getting to where I can hold a pencil underneath albeit a very small pencil, at least the breasts aren't riding as high now. The PS says get rid of the bra as often as I can. I have always worn one and feel naked without a bra. I don't go back until the end of October, he doesn't want to do fipples until the tissue is fully relaxed and I have a mammogram on the remaining breast and I get an all clear. He is just being careful. Jan

Dani, thanks for sharing your experience. I am coming up soon for exchange and am needed back at work in less than a week post-op...so I find your words encouraging! Glad you bounced back so well!
Laura and PMellon, GOOD LUCK with Monday's surgeries!! It is another huge mountain you have both climbed and conquered! (And you'll get two mini mountain souveniers to take home from this trip!) We will all be think about you both!
Jan, your walnut image is just really staying with me..thanks for the laugh.
Geena and others struggling with complications, I am so sorry for what you are going through. Your strength is being pushed to new limits with this, and I pray for fast healing for you!

Jan1 I have some bras that are called bralets....they are like t-shirt material and pretty cheap. I got mine at Kohls.. by Barely There style 0213.......I wore these with my expanders.....and still wear them when I need something light.....not at all like wearing a bra because they have no support but they cover you up....I am like you, I like to be covered. Don't like to bend over thinking someone can see down my shirt.....so these little things work great...
have a great weekend

oncrn
Within a week may be a push. While I feel great, the digestive system finally woke today - what a relief! You won't be able to do heavy lifting. I would think that you would want to rest for about 3 days at least.

oncrn - I know my doc really "preached" at me to not overdo after my exchange ... On Thursday, I did a few errands with the kids, went with them to the community pool and sat / watched while they swam, then went out to a patio for outdoor music that evenign ... certainly nothing strenuous, but I noticed that my left breast seemed a bit 'sloshy' and mushy ... the next morning, when I woke up, it was gone ... so I wonder if it was fluid that had collected during the day?? My doc told me that if I did too much, fluid would collect in the pockets and that's what I need to avoid. So ... just be careful!!! Yesterday I went to the grocery store (I have my mom to chauffer me around) and then laid low the rest of the day ... today I hope to take a walk ... but I learned that I do need to take it easy. sue

Hi ladies,
Congrats to all of you who had their exchanges this week. I hope you get the best results!
OncRN, I went back to work a week after my exchange/oopher, and the only problem I had was a little soreness when driving. I really rested a lot before that, and worked that first week at 6 hour days. Listen to your body and rest when you need to.
Geena, I'm so sorry for your problems, just a speed bump hopefully.
Robin, that sounds scary! Get well soon. Where were you?
Judy, know anyone good in Texas? My PS doesn't tattoo, and I'd probably rather someone who does it for a living anyway. Maybe I'll have to take a roadtrip to Florida!
Hope everyone has a nice day,
Deen

((Judy)) Thank you for the directions to the web-site. Your pictures are FANTASTIC, not like the ones that I had seen on another So Cal site. If I can find that website again, I will send you the link and you will understand the concern I had about the neon raspberry color. My question is on one of the pictures with the nipple, was that a nipple that was made or tattoo'd? I think it is the second picture down? Is it possible to get a tattoo that looks like a nipple? I may forgo the whole walnut thing if that is possible. How far is Sarasota from Orlando or Port Canavral? Thanks Jan

Judy - I live in the Houston area. If you have any information I'd love to have it.
Thanks!

a big hug to (((jan))) for remembering me on my exchange date (july 8th). i apologize for not keeping up with this thread. you all seem so supportive and wonderful and close ... i guess i just felt a little ... daunted trying to keep up with y'all.
i couldn't be happier with my new foobies!!! i left it all up to my PS - who i trust implicitly - and he chose natrelle silicone implants, style 45/550cc. he knew EXACTLY what i wanted/needed. i was a 36DDD before, and now i'm a 36D. i really do look like the old me, cuz i always wore minimizers. i have more of a round look than a natural teardrop look, but it's fine with me if that's the way they stay.
my only issue was that i had ALOT of extra fat under my arms after the mastectomies, which he lipo-ed ... so i woke up with TWO DRAINS. i couldn't died, i HATE those things with the passion of a thousand firey suns!!!!!!! but luckily he took them out two days later and i didn't have to suffer thru the weekend with them. i'm amazed that he did such a neat and tidy job with my scars. i sort of have two big S's going across my chest - you could use a matchbox car and play roadtrip, lol! and he didn't go near the middle incisions at all, so they'll fade even faster. I have excellent cleavage. Nips to come in 2-3 months.
The surgery took 2 hours, but again that was because of the extra lipo (and he removed my port, too, thank god!). I went into the ambulatory surgery center at 8 am and I was home by 12:45 pm. I took a week + one day off of work, but I could've really gone in Monday. I stopped taking the lortabs on Saturday (for some reason, they were interfering with my sleep at night). i could sleep on my sides (with pillows for support) by night #3.
I'm not saying it was a breeze. But it sort of ... was. Even with The Dreaded Drains. I couldn't be happier!
Hugs and happy exchange vibes to (((everyone)))!

Lisa: Wow....would you be able to post photos on the picture's forum? We need more Style 45's represented - especially in the 500 cc range.0

((Lisa)) Yippee!!!! I am so glad for you and that this big leap was made and you can move on. I am glad that you think your new girls are fabulous! Your message made my day and I am glad that you came through safe and sound. Nips in two to 3 months? That should be about the time I should be ready. I am hoping to get mine in November or there abouts. May make a trip to NC or Florida, make a vacation, get the tattoo souvenier and meet a sister! I just don't want to go to someone that doesn't know how to do areola tattoo's.
BTW, here is a funny, my DH with a serious tone states that he loved me so much that he would donate a nipple to me, Then he got a silly grin and stated that of course the donor nip would sprout hair, but it would be a nipple! Now the visual that went through my head. . . . . well, use your own imagination. Jan

JAN:
I am an hour and a half from Sarasota. If you look at the before pics you can see the nipple, although it was once out there...has gone flat. The nipple you see is tattooed on.
I am about 1 1/2 - 2 hours from Orlando. I have a lot of clients that come to me from Orlando. I am closer to Tampa however. If you look on the map, Sarasota is on the Gulf Coast, south of Tampa (about 45 minutes).
Swest: If you go to my website, www.facecrafter.com click on CLIENTS (top of the page) then
click on Scar Cancealment - you'll see some pics of 3D tattoos I did. I guess its OK to post here, because I don't charge for this work,. I can also help you find someone who does it well, hopefully in your area. Earleen does it in North Carolina I know. Here's to soft foobies for all !!! JUDY

Hello Ladies!
I'm very happy to report that things are looking good and I'm feeling surprisingly well for being 1 Day Post Exchange! I've put up a couple of new photos on Fumi's board. My husband & I were both very pleasantly surprised by how 'non implant' looking my new breasts are!!
I was pretty much out of it yesterday but today I'm just experiencing moderate pain and haven't quite regained my 'land legs'
I really hope that all of you that are heading toward your exchange dates (and those already done) are fortunate enough to feel as good as I do today
Lisa

((Judy)) I was very impressed with your work. I will PM you, I have some other questions.
Has anyone heard from DV8Q? I have been concerned about her and haven't seen any posts. Keeping her in good thoughts. Jan

Jan: Thanks. I guess I'll keep doing it !!! JUDY

Jan, That is a funny story, I think I'll ask my DH if he loves me enough to donate his nipples. I know what you mean about getting things done this year since the big deductable has finally been met. It's my goal as well.
SaraJane- Glad you are feeling well and are happy with your results so far.
Laura and Pmellon- Good luck on Monday. My prayers are with you.
