((Dianne-Dani42)) Ahhh, the dancing boobies! ((Deborah)) aptly described This little trick on page 156 of this forum in response to (lisa810. I have this too, I think because the implant is under the muscle and the implant is not connected to any tissue, when we flex the muscle it contracts the implant. ((Deborah)) called it a scooping thing, then the dancing boobie term. It is weird, but apparently it is one of the "tricks" we can do with our boob (s).
Good thoughts for all of the ladies undergoing exchanges the week, Angel10, lifegoeson, kookeismom, simoneJ, Alo123 and Vision4utoo, write back and let us know how it went. A cyber toast to an easy recovery and boob greed to help compensate for the trouble that will hopefully will be a diminishing memory, CHEERS!

Yes, I am meeting Lorraine and Kathie tonight for dinner. I am going to look for the largest boobies in the restaurant and head for that table! My 34 D's are going to look like skittles next to these two gals...
Angel: Well, sounds good to me. I like the way he thinks....as long as this does not mean that what you see is what you get and he will not perform revisions if necessary after surgery. I think he is stressing how confident he is that he is going to get it right the first time around and if he can do this, wow...more power to him! And, referable to the time frame from final fill to exchange: Agreed, just as long as you are expanded sufficiently for the size you want...and Style 20's - well - many of us have this style and I think you will be happy with them!
Cheri: Ha! My sentiments about Michael Vick match yours to a "T" for Travesty...which I would have posted on your blog but I cannot figure out how to leave a comment...
lifegoeson: Well, this sounds like great improvement to me! I would be there - right along with you - wanting to spend the night at the vet with my baby....I am praying for your Kenya!

Well, Brigham and Woman's is on there Candi.......
Another maneuver which causes this annoying animation of my implants is opening my front door! We have a very heavy entrance set on the door and it takes so much strength to turn the lock - I have to do this push, turn and lift up thingy and oooh that is a nasty feeling. So if I'm out somewhere and return home, if my DH is home....I just knock on the door like a visitor. It might annoy him a little to have to come downstairs to open the door for me, but whatever.

Deborah----Have fun tonight....skittles, you crack me up!

Denise- I came home from the hospital wrapped in a large ace bandage and was told to wear a sports bra 24/7 for 4 weeks. I started with my front closure ones I used last summer after my mast. They ended up causing big indentations after many hours. I went and got champion sports bras at Target that go over my head, no snaps. They are supportive but more comfortable at night. I find i just switch off. It has been 9 days out for me and I see the PS Thurs. All still looks good and I'm feeling good! What a relief!!

Kathie, thanks for the invite but I just don't think my size C foobs would fit in with the likes of all the D's sitting at the table.....lol
can't wait to see the pictures.....

Kathie, Lorraine and Deborah- You guys are going to have a blast and probably laugh your butts off. I wish I was there to join you. We'd all love to see pics!
0 -
Oh you ladies will have such fun, wish I could join you!
I told my husband it was my new party trick...jumping boob. I put a heart shaped pasty on it due to lack of nippleosity and it worked nicely. I think I freaked the poor guy out a bit tho.

You guys are cracking me up!!!!
Deborah- thanks for going to my blog- I think it was my issue- I changed some things- maybe now folks can comment?! I am still just learning it. I am making Julia Child Boeuf Bourguignon Monday and blogging about that...should be interesting...haha! Interesting...as in...yikes! There is one blog about cancer called "a different kind of race", it's in April. But mostly, it is a goofy random blog.
So ladies who have already had your exchanges. You think the bra's I bought (open front) during the mastectomy portion of this ride will be OK for the post op? That's what I had planned to bring.
0 -
Thanks for all of your good wishes and prayers for tomorrow! I will let you all know how me & my new girls are doing as soon as I can.

Kathie, If I could be there, I would. Poor Sam being exposed to all that boob, foob talk and boob dancing. Linda, I don't think my faux "C"'s would fit in too well either.
Good luck to everyone facing surgery this week.
Cheri2, I have purchased more bras during this process then I have in my whole life! Once I could stop using my surgical bra after the exchange, I was told a soft bra would be ok, no underwire and if I was to exercise, then a good sports bra that prevented bouncing.
I have the front closure bras that you have I believe, Walmart BestForms? They are nice because they do keep them from going east and west, which was my fear. I think they will be fine. The only problem I had with them was that my boobs were flat and they seemed to flatten them more. I wore them home from my post-op and it sent me into tears all the way home. I switched to the Warner Satin Elegance, which are lightly padded, and that took care of the crying. If you are getting nice size implants with projection then you should be ok with what you have.

Got together with Kathie and Deborah this evening, I have to say, that was the funnest (thats not a word!!!!) that I have had in a while!! I wished we could have video taped the 3 of us!!! Deb! skittles my ass! You foobies are quite amazingly awesome!!
So.........all three of us go off to the bathroom, keeping in mind that this place only has one bathroom, we proceed to all get naked from the waist up HA! I took forever because I had my work clothes on, long story short we ended up being in their ages and when we finally came out there was quite the line waiting, they must have wondered what all the commotion was in the bathroom! Then Kathie's poor son having to listen to foobie talk and then Kathie made him take pictures of our foobs! What a great young man he is! Kathie! your foobs, with the new additions of nipples, wow! you would never know, they look completely real! amazing job! I had a good ole feel LOL!!!
For me, its such an incredible experience to spend time with fellow sisters, this journey is so surreal and to be able to share it on these boards, AND then to actually get together, its so special, there are no other people who totally understand what we have been through, and to actually laugh and have fun and share our lives and stories it means the world.
I hope Kathie figures out how to post the photos Sam took!

Celine I had my mastectomy Feb 27th and exchange Oct 1st but that was my choise to wait untill some events were over with. They usually say wait 2 - 4 months after last fill
Karen I hope your having a fun weekend and hear good news Monday
Diane I don't notice it with cloths on but with clothes off and I use my arm it does something funny to my implant also
ok 1 more page left to read... but will submit this so I don't loose it0 -
Cheri what u got should be just fine. If it's easy for your husband to get off work for 2 weeks to be home with you that's great but you might be fine after about 3 days. But let him be there to spoil you if his boss is fine with him being gone.
I hope everyone had a great weekend. I went to a dragon boat race this weekend and had a lot of fun meeting fellow BC survivors. 4 teams were BC survivors. I added pix to my facebook account...0 -
ok girls...i WILL figure this picture thing out...what a blast spending an evening with these lovely ladies.... I agree Lorraine...skittles my ass. We looked better than anyone there who had original equipment!!! Even if they were 20...lol. My son said we all....I know he meant boobs...ewwwww that I made him admit it......looked awesome. In his words....take away the "mom" factor and we would definitely turn heads....I think we looked better than Charlie's Angels....Guess we can be Sam's Angels!!!!
xxoo Kathie....promise to post the pics or pass it off to my techno sister Deborah to do it!!!

Dianne,
I have the same issue with my implants! I had my exchange surgery June 25th and I can flex one sid eor teh other and make them 'jump' or twitch. It's not painful, just weired. Best of all normal.
Just one more thing to get used to!
Celine,
I had my expanders in for 6 months almost exactlly... after my last fill was the 10th of march and my exchange wasn't untill June! If you look at the pictures on my journal you can see that even though there was no expansion going on, my shape REALLY changed over that time.
All the best,
~Lianne

Hi Dani- Thanks for the info. Yes all mine are from walmart! I will wait to get the others to see what size I am. You are right, I have a ton of bra's now. My BIG kick in the pants is right before I was diagnosed (like a month before) I decided it had been a while since I had been fitted properly for a bra and bought 3 very expensive bra's! I spent about 200$ for those things and only wore them for a couple of months. (All underwire- all major support)!!! Then after my mastectomy I spent about 70$ ordering one online because I couldn't shop. And then I was telling my best friend about my bra dilemma and she came back with 3 she bought at walmart for about 10 bucks a bra. yay!!
Thanks Rockwell girl. He's a pilot - so he is bidding off for those 2 weeks but after that I will be by myself. I don't have any family around me so it is just me!!! So I am hoping that I can drive my kids to all their after school activities and get home and be able to feed them?! He took 6 weeks off after my mastectomy and it really put a dent in our finances for a couple months after that. He has blown his sick leave on me and so I am really nervous that 2 weeks won't be enough but I hope so!!!!
Kathie, Deb and Fairy, I love that you all got together- what a hoot!!! Wish I lived closer to you guys. I love it!
Sandy- what on earth is a dragon boat??? Glad you met other survivors- wonderful!

Kathie, Deborah & Fairy (sorry Fairy, I'm blocking on your real name!)
You guys just crack me up...Kathie....your SON took photos! He must be an amazinig kid! I am so jealous of you guys. I wish I could get to all of you from Maine. I would love the comraderie (sp) of some foob sisters. It sometimes feels like Siberia up here as far as contact.
My DH and I just sort of shook our heads this morning as we looked at my reconstruction while we were getting dressed. It's getting so hard to believe that I will ever have a happy outcome. I still have an existing follow up with my current PS this month. I sure hope I get some sensation back by then or I may not be able to keep my sunny disposition!
I know I have to keep my eyes on the brass ring, but some days I'm just tired of being on the merry-go-round! I'm so happy about your meeting and the time you had together, it's just so neat to hear about it.Today I guess is one of those days when my emotions will be a mix of happy and sad.
Have a good day everyone...my prayers are with all who have surgery this week.

Cheri2 - I just had my exchange in late July and I was so amazed at how easy it was compared to the mastectomy. I too had been worried when I could drive and when I would be able to help myself. It was a breeze. Barely any pain. I had the surgery on Monday and was driving on Friday. It was actually easier driving with the new set, compared to driving with those overfilled tissue expanders. Wishing you luck and a quick recovery.
Candi - You are so right about the merry-go-round we are on. I hope you can find some peace and know that you will have a happy outcome at the end of all this.
Good luck to all of you today and this week with surgeries!!

Mykidsmom-When is your fipples surgery scheduled?- Mine is scheduled for 11/19-did your PS say how much tissue they're removing from your stomach? I saw a photo on another site of "fipples" made from a cartilage graft? and they looked awesome-very real looking. I'm trying to get permission to view photos on the picture forum-I've PMed Timtam-just waiting on permission.
Misty-good luck with the swelling-do you have to wear a bra?

cheri2- I had my exchange on Fri 8/7 and was able to drive by Mon afternoon. I took vicodin over the weekend but then only needed occ advil. This was sooo much easier than the mast where I had drains for 3 weeks. I agree I can move my arms much easier than after the fills I had. My husband took the weekend off to be with me but then I was fine. I was told I needed to take 2 weeks off from work but really was ok after one. I can't lift more than 10 lbs for the first month so it's nice to have help at the grocery store and with laundry but I feel great. The implants are 100% improvement over the expanders!!
0 -
Cheri- I agree with everyone else. My husband took no days off this thime. I had a completely normal day the day after, except for the lifting. I really didn't need anyone. He planned on taking the next day off, but I insisted he go to work as I literally felt perfectly fine. I might be unusual in that I never took any pain pills this time, and only took tylenol once. I was a little tired for a few days, but i drove on day 3. PS said it was ok to do so. I guess if your husband gets the time off, then let him take it. My hubby is self employed, so no work, no money for us.
Another queston for girls who've had their exchange-Sometimes when I move, I hear a sloshing sound in my chest. It's very faint, but I know it's there. I have a lot of upper pole fullness so I know the implants are high right now. I hope they drop a little. Is that normal to hear your implants? I will ask my PS on Thursday, but I know he'll just look at me with that dumb smile.
0 -
Denise:
Not a dumb question. I sloshed too, for about two weeks, I didn't even tell my PS, not saying you shouldn't, I just didn't want to hear that something was wrong. Then it stopped and I haven't sloshed in months. Another thing I've noticed though is that my girls are very buoyant. When I'm doing my water workout I'm convinced I'll never need to wear a life vest on the open ocean again!
Kathie, Lorraine, Deborah: Can't wait to see the pictures of you 3! I'm so glad you had fun!

Deborah, Lorraine and Sam1991 - Wow. What fun the three of you must have had. Thanks for sharing.
