    Hi Angel:

Just to give you my experience on the "to nipple or not to nipple question". I was seriously considering just doing tattoos, but I have admired my PS's work so much, I decided to let him go ahead and make me a new nipple and aerola.  The first time I saw them, I cried; I hadn't realized how much I had missed having a nipple.  It makes the foob look so much more real!  He made my nipple from a skin flap; it is very cute and button-like and doesn't stick out too far.  The aerola is made with skin from my inner thigh (not as bad as it sounds; pm me if you'd like details), so it is pink and looks very real.  I think my PS would have felt like yours if I hadn't let him do my nipple; he is a real artist, and I'm sure he's much happier that I let him complete his work, and so am I.  Of course, this is just my experience! Kiss

Thanks Diane...if I could get some assurance that MOST of the time I could go w/o a bra should I choose...that would clinch it!  For this post exchange week, I am trying not to obsess over how much I dislike the surgical bra! It feels as tight as the TE'S!! But when  took it off to shower and change, I still felt so heavy....chest wise!  Still weird!! DH says I will get used to it.  Oh really?  Either he is VERY smart, or this is getting old for him! :) Ha!

    God Bless!

Angel - in that photo of Lorraine, Kathie and me, you might note that Kathie is not wearing a bra.  She said she rarely wears a bra.  She had nipple/areola construction.  Also, there are those little petals you can buy that you just slap right over the nipple and it looks very smooth and seamless under clothing.  My friend has implants and wears these nipple covers all of the time.

    Angel,

I'm obcessing over my surgical bra as well. It it so uncomfortable to me. I don't think I realized that I still have two small spots on my shoulder blade area that have that burned feeling after the mastectomy. And, it's right where the bra hits. I, like you, did not wear a bra at anytime since my mastectomy, and I loved it. I also am swollen or something on the sides. My TE's used to protrude there, and now it just seems to puff out and hurt there. I hope that is swelling and will go away. My husband would have said the same thing by the way.

Angel - I think we had our exchanges the same day - last Monday.  I was reading your post about having to wear the surgical bra - I have the opposite problem in that my PS does not want me to wear a bra! Just at night I wear a sports bra.  But I actually feel better with it on.  The support feels good.  I wish that there was a standard plan for everyone - it makes me wonder if any of these PS know what the heck they are doing.   I wonder if you went bigger than me and that is why you are forced to wear the bra?    Anyway- sorry you have to wear that granny bra.  I hope we both find a nice comfortable bra to wear soon and that the foreign object feeling goes away soon.  It still is much better than TEs anyday!

4greatkids -  I also have swollen puffy thing on my left side where my tissue expander had decided to migrate.  It is still hurting me too and I thought that once the TE was out it would feel better.  It feels almost the same - which worries me.  I see my PS today and will ask.

Best of luck to all who are having their surgeries this week!

No problem Linda!  You don't look a day over 45.  I understand the memory issues.  After 4 surgeries and 4 rounds of chemo I sometimes have troubles.

    You too!  Enjoy you Monday!

Another big week! Traci26, Saintmelissa ,Believe1,  swest , Cheri2 good luck ladies!

Kookiesmom...wow...go figure! No bra except at night!  Well, I do take mine off to shower and I still feel weird...very heavy and awkward.  I am just going to count on things getting better as time goes on! I am 5'5' about 140 lbs. 33 ribcage and got the Natrelle HP 600 textured silicone implants if you want to compare your size to mine.  I was a 38D before surgery, and had a skin sparing MX. I don't think there is any consensus on any aspect of follow up care in this field.  The variations are mind boggling.  And 4greatkids I too, have the side swelling.  I know my PS actually extended my MX scars further back in order to do some more work there, so I hope to see that go down in time, too!

    God Bless!

Linda:  Aw, come on....crop that picture so we can see you and your hubby better!!!

mykidsmom:  Tell your PS that the surgical bra is very uncomfortable and ask if you can wear a nice, tight, sports bra that compresses the implants but is more comfortable.  You should not be in agony with a compression garment.

Thoughts and prayers going out to all of you having exchanges and/or revisions this week!

Angel- I am also in the surgical bra and nearly had a heart attack last week when he told me to wear it for 6 more weeks. He did finally agree to a tight sports bra, so i have been alternating. The only thing that I like about having the bra on is that it pushes in that buldge I feel on the side of my chest. He said that it's swelling and it could take 6 weeks to go away. I have learned through all this that I am not very patient. I am just about exactly your size, but my implants are 500cc.

Kookiesmom- I'll be anxious to hear what your PS says aabout the "side puffs."

Good luck to all of this weeks surgeries!! Can't wait to hear from you all.

I love Mel Gibson especially in his younger days...(kinda mad at Mel for running off with another woman)..........Simon, I love his smile.....Thanks Deborah....and I will check out those sites and make a comparison......You are so good at providing what we need in websites....you are spoiling all of us....you have such a big heart....I think everyone would agree.....

My mom always though DH looked like George Streit (the country singer) but I could never see it....

I hope Karen checks in soon.......
