    Hi Sisters,

Nothing to report, but thank you so much for your words.  I called the onc's office today and they said they had the results, but he wasn't there and their protocol states he has to give me the results...she said they would call me tomorrow. I asked her to call before 1PM, I have to travel for work the next couple of days and don't want to be in another city if it is not good news. I've been lurking...Laura, work was a little too crazy for me to be on FB, and I'm feeling kind of quiet. I know it is going to be OK, just the new normal--tests and scans.  I just ate a ton of ice cream and I'm going to bed feeling like I'm going to burst lol!

Hugs to all--Cheri--I'll be on the road on the 28th--good luck!

Karen....I'm free this weekend if you want some company. I know how scary waiting can be and how nice it is to celebrate good results with a sista...fingers and toes crossed...I'd be happy to drive to Portland.

Celine...the patch is called a scopolamine patch...works wonders!!! I have 700cc mentor moderate plus profile and I'm very pleased. You can see them on timtams site if you need some comparison.

    Good luck...Kathie

    Kathie,

I think my PS is going to exchange me for 700 instead of 650 on monday, he really wont know til he gets in there.

Hey Im just curious....what does that really mean?  Do they put one size in and sit you up and decide like that???? Im just curious. LOL

Peggio's PS did some pocket work on the sides [laterally] at the time of the exchange, and I personally think that in some cases they really have to do this, in order to keep the implants from migrating there as well.

Teresa:  That is exactly what they do.  They put in the implant and then with the assistance of nursing staff, the PS sits you up on the OR table and eyeballs the results.

Hi Ladies, Wow ... this thread is impossible for me to keep up with!  I missed a few days, and now i'm perpetually behind.  :)  I do have a question ... is it common/normal to have "tingly" sensations in my reconstructed breasts?  I don't know if it's nerve regeneration or something else ... I went on roller coasters yesterday at an amusement park and it seems the tingly sensations are worse today ... I am a bit afraid that I may have jarred something loose (it's been 6 weeks since my exchange surgery).  Just wondering if other ladies have similar feelings or if I should call my doc.... thanks for your input, everyone!  sue

Karen, are you still coughing or has that resolved? So they HAVE the results but you have to wait until tomorrow to have them read to you?  GRRRRR.  Kathie - what a sweetie you are.  I am so glad you two are in close proximity to one another now...

Sue:  I will wager that you were unknowingly tightening up your chest muscles on that roller coaster ride, because I am tightening mine up right now just PICTURING you on that roller coaster ride! [ Caveat:  But please confirm you did not have some direct impact with the restraint bar against the implants...] Tingling sensations are normal.  I still have them every now and then six months post-exchange.  If you look at a video demonstrating implant displacement techniques [Linda54 has a thread with that video featured] you will see that a roller coaster ride is a piece of cake for those puppies.  Not to worry.

Teresa...I asked my PS if he sat me up and he told me they didn't. He said they usually only do that for augmentation patients. Oh well....either way, I'm happy with my 700 moderate plus. I know I've said this before but again after reading some posts from women that have had the mod plus profile, I really feel the cc's need to be on the larger size to really make the implants doable.

Karen...I got your PM. Still going to think about you this weekend. I think I'll grab some books and memories and head up to Rainier and camp overnight. Heard the wildflowers are blooming like crazy!

Sue....I rode all the coasters at Cedar Pointe on my drive across country. My breasts were tighter the next day but I know my whole body was too!!! I ended up with a bruise on my belly from riding that darn wooden coaster. The ride that the bars came down over my breasts...and they are not little, believe me.....breasts that is...hee hee was a little anxiety provoking for me but I just held it off them during the jarring ride. Needless to say, I did not go on that one twice!!

Deborah, waiting, the office has been open for 41 minutes, I guess it is only urgent to me.  No, I'm still coughing...Big GRRRRRRR, I want to know!!!!!

Kathie--I like your plan better than how my weekend is looking--maybe we can check out the spring flowers on the eastside in the spring.

     I'll keep you posted...

    Hugs,

    Karen

It's been two weeks since my exchange surgery. My steri strips are still securely in place. Did you guys just leave them on, or did you try to gently remove them. I don't see PS for 5 more weeks.

Denise...When I had my exchange, PS told me to leave them in place until my appt. He also said if they fell off in the shower it was ok.

Sue... here is my experience. I had the tingle all the time. I also have 80% feeling now in both breasts.... My doctor said my nerves are on fire and want to connect. So that part is good,,

I also had this tingle/pain under my arm and it radiated down my torso.. and arm.. this is not good.. it hurts and feels TO WEIRD... I was told I had neropathy there do to lymph node dissection. I had all nodes out. .. So now I take a pill to stop that pain and tingle.. and POOF.. it is gone..wahooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ...

So anyway.. you might just be starting to get your feeling back. Very few of us do.

Kathie... You are a dear.. I hope you can see Karen.. so good you are close!

Karen.. (((((((((((( LOVE)))))))))))) Ned Ned Ned Ned!!!!!!!!!!!!

    What Kathie said:

."I know I've said this before but again after reading some posts from women that have had the mod plus profile, I really feel the cc's need to be on the larger size to really make the implants doable."

Very true....because you need that additional projection with the larger volume sizes of this style of implant...to compensate for the width...

KEW-((((((((((Karen)))))))))) I agree with Deb- tell them you need the results today and you don't care what the protocol is!!!!  The squeeky wheel gets the grease!

Denise- my PS has told me after my surgery not to mess with the steri stips because some women have actually peeled their skin off!!!  Resist the urge!!!  He also told me if they fell off in the shower that is fine but do not peel them off!!! :)

Teresa - my PS said that she sits me up for exchange surgery.  I guess they are all different.  Also, Denise, those steri-strips will eventually come off in the shower but like everyone else says - resist picking at them.  You don't want infection or additional scarring.

I too have tingling and sometimes a numbness around my back on the left side(cancer side) - comes and goes but I don't really feel in on the right side.  Maybe because there was more surgery on that side due to deep tumor and node removal.  My right armpit is normal but the left is slightly puffy - I hope this goes away - it's weird when I shave but I don't think noticeable to anyone but me.  The breasts still feel numb in an odd sort of way.

Karen - hope you got godd news.

    hugs, Bobbi

    Hi Sisters--

Well, I finally talked with my onc and he said I'm fine, but I have 3 nodules in my lungs all less than 5mm.  He said they could have been there forever, and doesn't see anything that could be causing my cough, so he is sending me to a Pulmonologist to do a lung function test, he said maybe I've developed asthma or something.  He said we should do a follow up CT in 1 year--does that seem like a long time?  It does to me. I don't know what to think.  I've been running about like crazy all morning getting ready to leave on this trip for work, and my kid was in the car when he called, so I didn't grill him. I have a regular appt. with him in about 3 weeks, so I ask more questions then.

I don't feel comforted.  I'm kind of stunned, under too much pressure, have too many things to do, and I don't know if I should just be happy with what he said and move on with life, or worry. I'm open to opinions, experiences, etc.

Thanks for your love and support.  I'm going to be offline the next few days except at night.

I hope everyone is please with their surgeries, and the Sisters at the end of the week have great surgeries and results.

    Hugs to everyone!

Well.. if he thought it was cancer.... he would have told you.. so I think this is GREAT news!

When you get back from your trip.... ask to have a MRI. This will give you more of an idea. Have you ever had pneumonia? I Have and I have those marks on my lung too. My Oncologist and radiologist both told me this.

I think this is a GREAT thing Karen.... they would KNOW if it were cancer.

    Love to you!

Cheri I think you'll feel like going to open house.  It's amazing how much better I feel after the exchange than after the BLM.  I felt so good yesterday that I think I over did it some and am really trying to do nothing today.  You'll do great Friday!

swest Hope you're already feeling good!

yay Traci- thanks girl- I am feeling so good about this!!  In a much better mental state about all this and I love my PS- I have total confidence in him.  Thanks for telling me how you are doing.  I really hope I do as well!!!  He says he has more pocket work to do and 2 sheets of alloderm.  I have to spend the night at the hospital.

Karen- My thought is it is very very good news.  I would ask for your medical records from this doc so you can read it yourself. (and have a record for a cancer notebook! I have a notebook with all my medical records since all this started so when I am 80 and if I get cancer again (lets hope not) I will be able to recount with clarity all my stuff!)   I am very type A.  I think for all of us, we will always think cancer is lurking- I think that will just be our thoughts after all we have been through- but we have all learned through this too that you have to be an advocate!

YEAH KAREN:)  That is wonderful news. I think your Onc. should know your medical history well enough not to mess around if he thought it was anything to worry about. I think the MRI sounds like a good idea as Laura suggested, especially if you've never had pneumonia.

I have the moderate plus profile in 500cc. I think that they are fine for me as far as size, but I was not looking for huge breasts. My rib cage is 33.5. I am 5'5' and about 140lbs. I have tried on bras and they seem to be a C cup so far. I guess I could have gone slightly bigger like maybe 550, but i don't know about 600. I feel very tight as it is.

Yes, Karen. I agree.  If it were cancer they wouldn't fool around.  This is GOOD NEWS.  I would not be concerned about it.  JUDY

    Whippetmom, FACECRAFTER, and Jan1:

Thanks for the information about what I asked.  I really wasn't kidding about getting my nose pierced.  Maybe it would help you to know that I am 36.  No, whippetmom; I'm not a stripper, too.  I'm fairly certain I wasn't polling anyone for their opinions on the procedure.

For whatever it's worth, my surgeon has agreed to do it.

Hey girls, I am back home and feel pretty good, actually great!!!  I have no pain except for under my arms where my ps did some work because it was so sunkin in.  I cant tell if I am totally happy with them, because I cant see them yet.  I will say the softness is the best ever!!!  I really did get use to the hardness of the expanders and now it like my breasts again...so excited!!!  I am still kinda foggy from the anis...... ( cant spell right now ) but am going to sit down and have a sandwich. I have eaten anything now in 24 hrs.

Man I can't believe I have been away from here for forever!  Karen I agree I think this is GREAT news!  I would suggest telling him that you are not at peace with this and ask him what you can do so you feel more comforted by these results.

    HUGS!

Kew I just wanted to share the 1st time I had a breast MRI it picked up spots on my liver...so they did a ultrasound which ruled out anything bad.  Maybe ask your doctor about doing a ulttrasound.

OMG it really is less than a month for our Vegas trip WOW : - )
