Wendy! I was wondering where you were. I am so happy for you. Good to see you again. The statement of the heart and mind being healed is so true, in many ways.
Happy St. Patrick's Day Ladies!
Still no word from pkb143...
Crusader1 - Yippee Squishy today!
Bellz - tomorrow it's you!
Ronqt1 - Friday is coming fast!
Big Hugs to every one!

Hi everyone, Colleen loved the starfish poem.
Maggie ~ Congrats on your nips and good nerves woo HOO !
I am feeling pretty good. I have resorted to an old recliner (thank god we had that laying around) as I find it difficult to get up from the laying down position. The pocketwork area inside is really SORE. OUCH ~ drains aren't too annoying. Have 1 on each side. Gave the new tata's a look and..... I am pretty darn happy. I got Natrelle Silicone Implants 475 cc's. They are shaped not round, and look pretty good. They are lined up straight right now and projection is good. Would of liked a bit more fullness up top but they look natural for my 42 year old self ! I will be sharing pictures on the forum soon I hope.
Thank you to all and wishing everyone a yippee squishy day !

Baxter, I hope it does have something to do with the lat dorsi flap. Maybe Deborah knows?
Big apple-- Good for you!! Sounds like there is a bright light at the end of that tunnel.

Alicia: Congratulations on your exchange! I'm so grateful that you're considering putting your pictures up on the forum. My exchange is scheduled for 4/12 and my ps is planning to use 475's, and I'm anxious to see how they look. I'm trying not to stress, but I really don't want to have to do this twice. Take care and heal quickly!!!
Karen: Your cellulite comment is so true. I hate mine more than my expanders. Those will go away soon, but I'm resigned to live with the cellulite forever.

Karen and Julie - wow, I'm impressed by your fearlessness in the locker room. I don't go to a gym, so I've never gotten used to being nude in public. How nice of you that you use this as a kind of public education service.
Alicia - I'm glad you are so happy with your results!!!! Isn't it a relief to have the exchange behind you?
BigApple - I love what your new doctor told you about looking good and feeling good, and that vanity has nothing to do with it. I wish you well with "getting together again." I'm realizing that I probably will go for the fipples - I don't feel completely rebuilt, esp. when looking in the mirror. Here's to feeling whole again.
Was it Julie who made the analogy between skippping rope and joining this thread? It's so true! Welcome to all newcomers - it just takes a few days before you are skipping along with the rest of us.
Deborah - that swimsuit top looks beautiful. I never have spent anything close to that on a swimsuit, but am thinking now might be a good time to start.
Kimberly - how cute that you get your PS fix as you accompany your friends to his office. Very clever of you... (and how nice that you are supporting your friends)
Best wishes to those of you having surgery soon, and happy skipping to all-
Kristen

Colleen - thanks for having a sentimental day and sharing the poem!
Bigapple - sounds like you hit the jackpot with this ps, girl! Skilled and sensitive - we can't have enough of that around here. Good luck with the next - and hopefully final - surgery!
Julie - Awesome way to not let bc rule your life! I agree with Laura, though...you're very brave....
Alicia - Great to hear from you! I had drains, too....a bit of a pain, but probably worth it. Rest up and take those pain meds!
Maggie - congrats on the nips! Sorry you felt things, but happy for regenerating nerves. I'm not so worried about nips since I'll be under, but I am worried about the tatoos. By that time I'll be over 18 months since bmx....

Deborah - Love that suit! I've worn La Blancas for years - even found one at TJ Maxx (my favorite place) - but that was bb (before boobs). Does it offer enough support for you? I'm thinking I need something with underwire....

Deborah - Perhaps the bottoms are a bit too young....translation: revealing.....must channel my inner goddess......

Laura -- I agree. Julie is so brave! (You GO Julie). The most I've done so far is let my best friend touch my foob -- to see how hard it is (not even copping a feel either... just a quick poke). I guess you PD queens are gonna have to show me the ropes in Vegas

Colleen -- love that poem! Thanks for sharing it.
Julie -- you wear your heart on your sleeve more than you know, but it's endearing!
Deborah -- wow that is a gorgeous bathing suit! Thanks for the link.
Wendy -- that is SO great about the new PS. It sounds like he is not at Sloan? You DO deserve to feel good about yourself and I am sending spiritual FU's to your ex (who sucks for saying what he said).
Kimberly -- I agree: this whole process of losing a breast (one in my case but one is one too many) has been surprisingly better than I imagined. I can remember meeting women who had had MX's over the years (in the past) and really being aghast at the thought of such a thing. God knows I also cried a ton in the beginning and prior to the actual surgery but since having it and really experiencing what it is I have to say it has not been as horrible as I thought it would be, for which I am grateful.
Re: PS Crushes -- well hmmm... my PS is a woman.... but I do rather adore her in all her coltish, cheerleader-y beauty (she's tall and slim and always seems to have a bounce when she walks into the room... and is always upbeat).
Val -- lol re: channeling the inner goddess -- don't we all need that!
Congrats to all surgery girls this week!!!!

Val, I managed to watch 1/2 of that Freya swimsuit video...forget the suits, where can I get thighs like that? and learn that sultry high healed walk?

Val - thanks for the info on properly fitting underwire bras. I guess mine fit pretty much like you described they should. That said went to the store where they fit and sell mast. bras. The lady was very nice and actually had 4 in my size that I liked and have no underwires. They are supportive and a few even have some lace (1 has a lace camisole built in). The fitting lady really took her time and was very impressed with my recon. job. I have no problem showing the girls off, when asked and have showed pictures to a few who have asked.
I am waiting for my outdoor water aerobics to start in 2 weeks. I may have to check out the Roman Holiday tankini for class.
Wishing everyone with upcoming surgeries good thoughts and easy procedures and recoveries.

Wow, you have all been busy!! Swimsuits, ugh, luckily I live in the northeast so have a bit more time to get swimsuit ready!! I did find for you uni's out there, that suits that have fabric or colors crossing in the front hides any problems with symetry. Julie, I have never let anyone see me, except for my husband and doctors!! I'll have to analyze myself to find out why!!
Bigapple, you've been thru so much, I'm glad that you've found a new ps that is going to take such great care of you! Yeah to Alicia!!! Take it easy and rest lots! Maggie, congrats on nips!!
Went to ps today, nothing serious, just internal stitches acting up. Phew! I kind of figured that, but the middle of the night scenarios had me worried!!
Paula, love the starfish poem, and Val, the whole starfish idea!! Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!

Julie,..thks for remembering me.
Well the exchange went real well today. This was my eighth breast surgery and the only one that has been pain free. I never really had bad pain but always had difficulty getting in and out of bed. Let's hope the lack of pain is a good omen for an infection free new breast. Already the implant feels much softer than the TE..rock hard ..More good news no drain..
Question..for the very knowledgibIe exchange city ladies.. . The PS put a binder on the top of the breast and drew a line below which this should not be placed. Can you tell me what is the purpose of wearing the binder and it's placement?
Thanks in advance.
Francine

Alicia, how are you doing today? Maggie

No, no, no....in that one photo Val, the model has the tankini top pulled up. The tankini as you see in other pictures completely covers and it looks like a one piece suit. The top portion is wired and holds up the girls like a shelf. It is very flattering.

I was really referring to the Freya suits.....some are a bit skimpy on the bottom....but the Roman Holiday suit would definitely help me channel my inner - and outer - goddess! Speaking of swimwear, I decided to swing by The Maxx on my way to Costco to check and see if they had any La Blancas.....found a fab one (only $29.99!), but with the graphic print on top, I looked like I could work at Hooters....not to mention it was a bandeau tankini and didn't support the girls.....they also had a darling Trina Turk one, but alas......no go.....didn't cover the scars.....might work if you have smaller implants, so check out your nearest TJMaxx, ladies!......in the meantime, I'll keep trying, though, and report in....

Francine - Welcome home - and to softness! I'm wondering if the binder you have is like what my ps had me wear for the first couple of weeks with my TEs.....is it an elastic strap with velcro, about 3" wide? If so, mine was to keep my TE's from migrating up, so I can just guess that yours is to help push the implants down into the pockets faster. Maybe someone else has an idea, too....
Well, I found one more thing today that's weird with the foobs - driving a stick shift car. Mine is in the shop, so I drove my son's today....guess I hadn't driven it since the TEs.....I could really feel the pull in my pecs when I shifted.....not unlike the feeling while scooping ice cream, which is still nearly impossible for me....KEW, I seem to remember you drive a stick - has that feeling gone away for you? Just wondering....

Thanks Val..for the quick answer. I was just wondering and now I know.
Hugs,
Francine

Val, your humor is killing me... BAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh... I just wonder.. when we meet in Vegas.... how much you might be like me...LOL.... You only have sons , right? Me too... and I think that living in a home with all men 100% of the times.... DOES something to a gal..LOL
WENDY............xxxooo........I KNOW you are going to feel as pretty and sexy as you did pre-BC because you are GOING AFTER IT! I admire that so much!
I found out today, that I am CLEAR. after being off Herceptin for 5 months.. My Brain MRI , Pet and bone scans I did Monday are CLEAR.......... and I hear those words I have been waiting for..." See you in six months"
An now... I am going after, with a vengeance I personally have never had to have, what I used to look like. I am not in pain like I was... cancer is gone forever.. and it is NOT vain to want what I had before BC. GOOD FOR YOU WENDY!
Love you gals!

I did not know that the Vegas trip was going to be in September. Bummer! That would be difficult for me because I am a teacher as well!
Bigapple: You meant to say unlike Humpty Dumpty, right?
Alica: Can’t wait to see your pics! Glad to hear they look “pretty darn good”.
Colleen: I also loved the poem.
Laura: Excellent news about your clear scans!

Does anyone know if Timtam is still approving requests for access to the reconstruction photo gallery? I'm done with my fills and waiting for my TEs to settle for my 6/18 exchange. Now that my boobs have that half coconut look, I am curious is this really normal? How different will they look at first after exchange... one month later... or one year later? I've sent two requests for access, but am wondering if I need to be a more active poster. I'm so excited to read about everyone's progress on this thread and can't wait for my swap in June! - Betty

The picture forum is protected for our privacy. You have only 5 posts. You'll need to post more and unfortunately, to be patient...Just know that the half coconut look is normal for TE's so are a series of other looks. Dont worry about the TE's they are only placeholders. The implants will look quite different and feel quite different. JUDY

LOL about everyone loving their dr's! I love mine!!! He is very real and has this way of remembering the details - I'm the patient who travels all the time for work! It doesn't matter - he keeps me grounded! Of all the BS doctors I dealt with after my dx, he was the reason I made my desision!!!

Laura - Yahoo!!! Go for it my dear!!
