Great to hear about the big reveal Texas!! It sure does put the finishing touch on!
Thank you Val and Julie for the exercise info. That worry gene is contagious, was starting to imagine all kinds of things wrong. I'm just going to keep plugging along, when I think back, I could barely walk down the street, so I've come a long way. My BS didn't mention waiting till after recon, just said see him in 6 months. I like him a lot, so I don't mind going in, know he will rid me of any fears!

Well exchange yesterday went very smooth. I don't have much pain,,just taking some Tylenol. I actually felt some jiggle walking around! Yippee Squishees!! The silicone is great, I feel like I'm real again! I am taped up now to keep left in place and to hold right down. The left is perfect, but the right is still a bit high. I hope it drops and the left doesn't. Deborah I know what you mean about looking bigger in the pics. They look small in the mirror, especially after the TEs, but in a pic they look huge! The only disappointment is that I could only get 275 not the 300 I was hoping for. Oh well, I guess 25ccs is not that much difference.
Maggie I did laugh at the Smoooth Move tea but I'm glad you mentioned it. I think I need to try some!
Kathy how did your surgery go? What size did you get?
Cindy

Cindy - Welcome home - so glad everything went well yesterday! Extra good news about having little pain - that's wonderful. I can completely relate about not having enough skin - I had the same issue (no initial fill with my TE for 9 weeks) - but it's far better to have a good result with a smaller implant than compromising the skin. Just take it easy and don't do too much too early!
Katey - yep, just keep at it, girl, and you'll get there. I'm going back to teaching my class on Monday....hopefully I won't collapse on the stage.....once I'm home it's another story.....

Cindy, glad you're doing so well! I'm filled to 330 (I think) and though they're a little smaller than most, they look fabulous! Give it some time and be good to yourself. Time for bad tv, movies and trashy magazines and comfort food! Maggie

There is nothing wrong with being smaller than most right?! We should start the 300 club...I am just a 300 cc. I was never really an A so it is better.

Cindy: glad things went well! I have 300cc, they look so small compared to the TEs but I think they will be good for me proportion wise. Also I really was very uncomfortable with the size of the TEs, very self conscious. These implants are looking close to what I used to be (but perkier of course!) So much more comfortable to have those TEs out, I keep touching them they are so soft! Bad news is I had a bleeding problem again: I wrote about the details in the nipple-sparing thread

Cindy and Kristen, yes! "Smaller than most" actually works really well for me. My husband was saying last night how my proportions look just right and I agree. I have a really thin (bony!?!) chest, so anything bigger wouldn't have looked right on me. I had the option to keep expanding (in fact, my PS suggested it), but I was so ready to move on ... the process was painful and sleeping was miserable with the TEs for me.
Kathy, glad you're happy about the softness and I hope the bleeding issue resolves. I'm sending good thoughts your way.

PS
Kristen, the 300 Club cracked me up. I'm in!

well, can I be an honorary member of the 300 club? I'm at 397 ccs, and I'm just one cup larger than I was before all the surgeries. I can "pass" as the old me, esp. in looser fitting tops. My old bras don't work only because they are all 36 and I'm really 34 - how could have I gone 30 years in the wrong size?
and oh my gosh I freaked myself out again because huge pictures of my post-surgery foobs were serving as my screen saver this morning. They gave me a fright!! Creepy how the giant foobs move across the screen in agonizing, slow motion. Of course I have a full house of kids this weekend, and my son has been using my computer for his school work for a couple of days. What an interesting education he must be getting. I thought I had deleted all of my foob/boob pictures in iPhoto, but lo and behold, I found them in lots of fun little folders. Please pray with me that the photos are now gone. I do not want to scar my kids for life.
Congrats to all the ladies who've had surgery this week - you must be relieved and happy!

bcincolorado, yes HYDRATION the day before surgery is so important! I had the worst I.V. experience last week because I wasn't well hydrated. The nurse couldn't get the I.V. in... I won't get graphic but it was ugly and I still have a bruise on my hand. You'd think I'd know better since it was my 4th surgery!

Kristen, you crack me up! I hope by the time you read this, you're laughing, too! If we ever do the sitcom about reconstruction, your screensaver's got to be in the opening credits. And I hope by the time I go back to 5th grade on Monday I remember that not everyone touches their boobs and checks on their nipples every five minutes. My normal is definitely a new kind o' normal. : )

Hi ladies,
I'm new to this thread but am cracking up at some of these posts...especially the screen saver! My exchange surgery is 3/31...this Wednesday!!! I can hardly wait to get these expanders out and see the new me! Seems like I've had these things in forever and can hardly remember the old me. I'll also be a member of the "300 club" at around 325, which is a bit larger than I was pre-BMX. I'll be happy with that since I'm thin and boney-chested, too. My DH had shoulder surgery 3 weeks ago, so we'll be recuperating at home together. Pay back time for our kids to come over and help us out!

Congrats to all those who have had their surgery!

Maggie - I know what you mean about remembering not everyone touches their boobs and checks things out every 5 minutes! I went to work yesterday and had to remember I was in public and not to push or squeeze anything! While I was at dinner Friday night I almost pulled up my sweater to show my incisions, but then remembered I was in a restaraunt! It is funny how our behaviors have changed to match our new normals!
Kristen - I sometimes wonder what people would think if they ever opened up my iPhotos! LOL - I have quite the assortment of events now. You have to scroll DOWN to see the normal picts! No slide show for my screen saver!
Cindy - So happy you are Yippee Squishy now with no complications!
Val - cute new pict!
Good Luck on surgeries this week!

Hey, can I be a member of the 300 Club at only 275? We can round up right?
I was peeking at them all day yesterday and already this morning! The left one really does look good proportion wise. The PS said no bras until my post-op on 4/5. I have big gauze pads over everything and have to change that and the tape every day. My last fill was only 25ccs, my total was 325. I just couldn't take any more. My right side was just stretching at the top outer part and the skin looked so thin. Val, I completely agree with you. Go with health over size!! I do have some bruising from the IV. She said my veins were crooked and had to try a couple before she got one to work!
Kathy, so sorry you had the bleeding again. Hope it's under control. We can't be too disappointed in the size. I tried on some of my spring/summer shirts and they weren't fitting with the TEs. Perky is wonderful!!
Thanks for all the welll wishes and tips! Good luck to everyone this week!! Welcome and good luck to you Jan! I'm picturing you and hubby sitting around while your kids fix you food and get you drinks... what a role reversal!!

I'm in the 300 club too! I wanted to go ever-so-slightly bigger than my natural size but my radiated side couldn't handle it. So I'm back to where I started, which is fine too.
A friend who travels a lot and has issues with constipation swears by Smooth Moove! I'd never heard of it before she mentioned it to me a few months ago.
Fairport, sorry to hear you're bleeding again. Hope it's something that you'll have under control quickly.

Hi Ladies
The 300 club: love it! and Im gonna laugh about that screen saver all day....
I am doing great, NO MORE BLEEDING! Just a tiny spot on the surgical bra this a.m. but the possibility of this being a BFD (as our Vice Prez would say: ha ha) its safe to say has passed.
Cindy: I know just what you mean: I tried on my spring tops when I had the TEs and nothing worked, but Im confident they are now going to look great, and wont it be fun to even go bra-less this summer once we've healed? Perhaps a nice benefit of being in the 300 club!
My surgery was prophylactic and my BS used to call me a member of the 50 50 club before the BMX...nice to be in the perky happy 300 club instead!

Cindy and Fairportlady, so glad you're on the squishy side of surgery!! I can feel your happiness at having the TE's removed!! Yes to no bleeding, ugh, know how you feel, I've had many an incision open and panicked one morning when I woke up drenched from drain incision. Luckily I was wearing a red pj top!
Jan, you'll be there so soon!! I feel for your husband, I had shoulder surgery a year ago. (tho of course I feel more for you;) Funny, the other shoulder bothered me more after these surgeries, wish I had asked the doc to be careful with both!! Remember to bring any needed items down to counter level, sounds like neither of you might be able to reach up.
Kimberly and Maggie, funny about touching in public! I'm not touching but can't walk by a mirror without checking out my chest, oh so perky!!! I think they make us look younger! Or maybe it's the chesire look on my face!!

go in for my first fill on Tuesday...any advice...I am actually looking forward to it. The PS did not get in as much as he would have liked to at the time of my surgery. He said my chest muscles were to well defined. So this should be interesting.

Hi Dublin, everyone has had different experiences with fills. Some need no help, some over the counter meds before and after fill, some pain killers, but I think most of us benefited, especially as time went on with massage. Do you have someone at home that can rub your back and shoulders? Or start asking around for a professional nearby. Hope it goes smoothly!

I have to confess to a little touching and poking of the foobs in public, and I know it has to stop. I think I'm still amazed that they feel normal after 3 months of completely not normal. Thank heaven I am not teaching this spring - 2/3 of the students at my college are guys, and that just would not work out at all. OK, today is the day that I break my poking habit.
Dublin - with fills see how it goes. Valium and Darvocet got me through, but some ladies only need tylenol or advil. Taking something 30 minutes before the fill also helps. Best wishes to you!
Congratulations to you, Texas, Cindy and Fairportlady! Hope you are feeling good this weekend.

Dublin -- take some advil before you go.... it helps with the pain (if you have any).
Kristen -- Happy Passover! I have two seders to attend tomorrow and Tuesday (but fortunately don't have to cook any
That is a riot about the i-photo screensaver. I love the comment (sorry I am too lazy to scroll back) that this would be a great image for the opening credits of EC: the sit-com.Val -- cute new pic! I admire you for all the pilates work. I am still being a slug (which is my modus operandi).
Judy and Baxter -- good luck with surgeries this week!
Janathan -- welcome

Julie -- coconut water? I've never even heard of that!
CDB -- whew on the surgery... glad you are resting comfortably.
Hugs to anyone else I missed!

Had my exchange about 2 months ago and yes, these are way better than the TEs. I hate to complain but... maybe because I am thin, I have ripples at the top, especially on one side and it looks like I have a water balloon under my skin (which of course, I do). I'm thinking this probably won't improve with time. I cut the nips out of an old bra so I could give them some support cuz it looks like they could strecth my skin which is already quite thin. I wanted the gel implants but my PS said they aren't really approved yet and he doesn't use them due to the short time they have been used by others.

Dublin: it is exciting to get going with the fills: you start to look fuller right away and of course each fill gets you closer to the exchange. I agree with what everyone said: you have to see what its like for you everybody is different. Pre medicating is really helpful. Many feel much more comfortable sleeping in a recliner upright rather than laying down in bed: I did, especially the first 72 hours after a fill. Rest and listen to your body and take the meds without hesitation if you need them:) Good luck and congrats! Its the next big step

Oh and I almost forgot: stretching after the fill (and for a few days after) also helps relieve the pain (if you have any). And massage also helps a lot. I always get my boyfriend to rub my shoulder and shoulder blade... some have also gone to a professional.

I second the advil-- it is a pain killer and a muscle relaxer...helps a lot. ONly two days to YIPPEE SQUISHY..I can't wait!! thanks for all the good thought everyone..JUDY

300 CLUB UNITE
I have started a trend and I love it! Anyone can join of course . But I think us girls who have exchanges for less than 300 or anywhere in the 300 range need to know that they are beautiful and bodacious!
Ok I need T-shirts ideas please....i was envisioning something sparkly. We have a great business here in town that will make any t-shirt you would like --it is called Holy Shirt. So I can get them made there.
OK so here are the members so far: KristenPink, Kristinka, Maggie66, Fairportlady55, Jan, Cindy, Texa357
WOW I thought I was such a minority with my smaller chest...feeling self concious about talking about it on the forums...feeling not womanly enough. And here we are girls...we are beautiful, proportioned, and busty. We are AWESOME!!
Kristinka: I have an 11 yr old son at home that has also learned way more than i ever thought about boobs. When I found out that after my exchange I was finally a B cup ( a big deal for me) I went around the house singing the BLack Eyed Peas song "Imma Be". And I told the 11 yr old why I loved it! LOL
Feeling really good after being on EC today
hugs
