Bonnie, OK, when you said fun tattoo design, here's what my brain spit out.  How about a 3D tattoo of a whole boob complete with 3D areola/nip!!  I would think that an artist (Judy??) could add the right size and drape dimension to match your current breast. I can picture it in my mind and I really think it could look very cool.  The 3 D nips look so good. What  do you think??  deekaay

That would be neat.  It is body work however, and only a tattoo artist could do it...but I too can picture it and think it would be very cool. JUDY

Bonnie:  You would be a walking piece of art, except only your nearest and dearest would see or know.  It could be a beautiful thing.

    Farrari:  Congratulations!!

I too am amazed someone has seen the tattoo I imagined!    but I LOVE the idea of tattoo'd boobs with nips!

mbj - I had a small tattoo under my old boobs to camoflouge reduction scars, and only those closest to me had seen it.  BUT - when I got bc, EVERYONE saw it and I often felt I needed to mention that stripping was not my day job.  I have another 'hidden' tattoo on my neck under my hair, thinking it would always be my choice to show or not, and guess what?  Without hair that thing is like a lighthouse beacon.  I can feel the stares burning holes in my neck.  oh well.  We're off topic....

Farrari - the day after might not be your best day, but it only gets better from there!  Take it easy and stay strong!  Gentle Hugs~

Farrari- Congratulations on your exchange.  So glad that everything went well for you.  Most women find there isn't much pain after exchange so hope that will be true for you as well.

No new boobies today- I got to the surgical center at 6:30 am this morning. We were all set to go and talked to the Dr. Was feeling excited to get this done then the nurse came in and said the center was having problems with the suction tubes for the anesthesia machine. She said they were out on the whole floor and they were trying to get it fixed. An hour later nothing was done yet and the Dr. had to go to do another surgery at a different hospital for 9:30  At that point we decided to wait until next Friday because it wasn't looking like it would be fixed for several hours at least. So back home I went, no new boobies.

Sweetie:  Sorry for the delay!  Sounds like it was for the best though.

tnbcRuth:  Well, I decided after chemo to let my freak flag fly and went platinum, so I think it's just a right of passage we all go through.  I doubt anyone thought you were a stripper LOL!  Maybe a punk rocker, though.

Sweetie..what a bummer, but at least next Friday will be here befor you know it. It just sucks getting all excited and then being let down.

I just had my exchange yesterday and I am still amazed how soft they look and feel. I honestly did not think they were going to be this good! I did wake up today with some soreness where the incisions are but nothing to complain about, that's 4 shur!

You know, I am wondering and maybe someone can chime in here, if foobs really "drop and fluff"? I know women who have had augmentation experience the dropping and fluffing but will we mastectomy people?

hurleygirl - my understanding is that yes, masectomy ladies do experience the drop and fluff, but not to the extent as the augmentation ladies.

I'm 10 weeks post-exchange and mine have dropped, not sure about the fluff, but they have definitely dropped some.

congrats on your exchange!  they change over the weeks, amazingly so.  enjoy your new softies!  Laughing

Thanks Dawne-Hope! What I notice right now is that my implants are pretty close which looks good without any clothes on...but with this halter top, looks somewhat odd. I just don't want to end up with uni-boob syndrome! (=

hurleygirly - you're still swollen from the exchange and will be for weeks.  Mine were pretty close together right after the exchange, but as the weeks have gone by, the swelling has gone down and the uni-boob threat is no more!  :)

I think they look great too!  Give them time to settle in.

Sweetie-Know you are disappointed.  Better they a have a problem Before the surgery with anesthesia instead of During surgery!!!

Hurleygirl, they will drop to where you are not so high, the fluffing is from the drop and as someone said it is not as dramatic as those have been augmented, I am now 4 months out and noted the changes @ 3 months.  Patience is something I did not have, this site really helped with all the support and experiences.

Thanks guys for responding. My icon pict is actually my expanders! I haven't posted my new picts yet, but will do so in a few weeks when swelling goes down. I guess what I am noticing right now is the closeness which looks fine standing but then when I lay down on my back, they get even closer..although I am wearing a constricting surgical halter top 24/7! I also notice that my left side is more squarish and the right side is completely round. I wonder what is making the bottom more square? I think I do just have to wait and see huh? Even that could potentially change I am guessing. Other then those two slight peeves, I am super stoked on the results!  I see my ps on Monday and she mentioned that I would be starting to wear a sports bra next week without any underwire and preferably a front closure. I don't even know what the heck size to buy! (=

Hi ladies.  I just had a setback.  When I had my exchange on the 5th of August, my PS had to take out a suspicious nodule, which turned out to be non-cancerous.  When he took it out, it left a small area of the muscle very thin and left a crater, which collected fluid and got infected.  My PS had to put me under general anesthesia to take out the implant and repair the crater.  This happened Thursday.  I found out the day before!!!  Now I am healing once again, trying not to take too many pain meds because I want to go back to school on Tuesday.

I hope everyone else is doing okay!

    Brenda

PS  I just wanted to add that if not for my radiated skin, I probably would not have had to go through this.  Another gift from radiation.

hurleygirly--if those are your TE's before your squishee's they looked great!  I had my exchange a week ago yesterday.  I'm feeling great and happy with the results so far.  But my PS put me in a sports bra type that closes in the front AND the back.  He didn't have a 34, so he put me in a 36D.  I really could have used the 34, but I was surprised it was a D!!  But I have to wear it 24/7 at least until my next appt. in 2 weeks.  Are you going to have to buy one?  I found at Walmart a fruit of the loom sports bra that fastened up the front.  2 came in the package.  A white one and a black one.  It's a medium, but you might need a large if you have to buy one.  And they weren't that expensive.

sweetie--how frustrating!  but better they didn't go through with it and you be put in jeopardy.  I know it's hard to be all psyched up and then not be able to go through with it.  Hopefully, Friday will be a really good day for you!!

ferrari--thought of you the other day.  Glad things went well.  I'm getting better every day and my exchange was just a week ago.  They do feel marvelous, don't they?

tnbcRuth--you're cracking me up.  And I did see the lawnmower, but it was on the back of a bald guys head!  haha.  Humor is always the best way to break the ice, it's a shame some just don't get it!!  Stand strong and be proud!!

adnerb--so sorry you had to go through this again, but I'm glad it was non-cancerous!!  Take the pain meds until Monday.  You'll heal faster and if you don't take anything Monday, you should be fine for Tuesday.  BUT...don't push yourself.  Better to take a day or 2 more than go back and make yourself sick!

    Take care!!

adnerb:  So sorry to hear of your complications!  I hope you heal up fast and without too much discomfort.  I agree with Dee, take a day or two if you need to--better to heal then work before you are ready.

hurlygirly:  Thos are your expanders!!!????  Your foobs must be amazing, then!  I am sure the odd shape will settle and thye will begin to look like real breasts before you know it.

Thanks to Dee and MBJ.  The first day I was sleeping most of the day.  Yesterday I stayed up to watch a full episode of Rome.  Today I am trying not to take the pain pills unless the pain is unbearable.  My mother and sister think I should be off work for 2 weeks.  The PS thinks I'll be ready to go back on Tuesday, which is a day after the F/U visit.  Of course, he will allow me to stay off work for 2 weeks if I ask for it, but there are so many things I need to do and so many deadlines!  I feel bad leaving the kids (kindergartners) so suddenly.

    Thanks again.

Well, now you are on your way to healing but don't let those little guys tug on you when you get back to work!!   Heal well, deekaay

Happymom, thanks for the tip...I am goingto run over toTarget and see if they have those sports bra that you have. Walmarts is far away from my house but maybe I will get lucky at Target! Currently, and this is what happened after my bilateral mastectomy, my ps puts a halter top on which just velcros down th front ad desn't have straps. From what she was saying to me on Thurs, she wants me in this thing 24/7 until my visit this Monday and then she said that she would want me in a sports bra from that point on..one without a wire and one that closes in the front. I don't know how long she will want me to wear that for but I will ask on monday when I see her. Today is day 3 and I feel pretty good except that I actually feel "hungover" from yesterday's percocets. I haven't even used any today but I don't think I need too because I don't feel any pain. I get to shower tonight which is very exciting!!!

MBJ, Yup those are my expanders and at that time were filled to 315ccs. I ended up getting expanded to 345ccs ad then my finals were 400. I think I am the only one on here that actually loved my expanders...other than the fact that they were indeed rock hard! My new silicone implants look pretty similar but in this halter-like top, they get squished together and they look odd at the top and then one of them looks more square. I know I just have to wait and see and be patient...but it is so dang hard to wait after waiting for so many months. I will post some picts though in a week or two.

Hurleygirl-glad your doing so good. Can't wait to see your pics. Percocet never sits right with me either.  I prefer Vicoden because it seems milder.

    Hi Ladies,

I'm having a good day today, I've mostly been sleeping for the past 2 days as I've had a mild fever off and on.  The pain has not been that bad I've been taking advil and tylenol but not any of the heavy stuff they give you after suegery.  I have noticed that my new foobs are very soft.  I thought they would be higher on my chest but they are'nt theres more fold at the bottom.  I hope I'm saying this right its hard to explain.  They seem to be wider at the bottom than on top.  I know I have to wait for them to drop and fluff, more dropping I hope not!! lol.  I have two drains that I can't wait to get rid of.My ps didnt put me in any bindings just some gauze pads and a surgical bra that doesnt fit its too big.  All in all I'm glad all of this surgery is coming to an end soon.  I'm very happy everyone is doing well, your all in my prayers.
