HurleyGurley -- well that is why you should call the PS's office.. in case he has any objection to you sleeping on your side.  You could always sleep in a bra if you are really worried :)  A LOT of the gals here do that and recommend it.

Sweetie -- yes hope it went well and that you are enjoying new, soft boobs!

Claire -- waving hello to you too :)

    Hi Ladies,

Had my exchange yesterday. Everything went well. I have some discomfort and soreness underneath and on the side of foobs. I was resting all day yesterday because I did have to take a pain pill which knocked me out. I can't really see my foobs yet because the Dr told me not to take the surgical bra off yet and he will do it Monday in the office. He ended up going with the smallest of the three sizes he took in, 450 HP. He said he used sizers and that he didn't want to cram in a size that didn't fit and this one fit and looked the best. I peeked down and they don't look as high up as the TE  but there is no step off at all, They seemed to feel soft when I touched me. I'm dying to just look at them though! Thanks for all your thoughts and well wishes to me. Your support has been so important to me through this whole journey!

Travelgirl- you can get a script for a bra? Where do we buy  one with that, does it have to be a MX specialty shop? Let me know where you get yours.

Hi Laura/sweetie:  Whippetmom or Val told me that we can get a script written for bras and then go to Nordstroms to get fitted properly, etc.  I called Ct Surgery and Andrea sent one out to me saying that I must have an underwire.  I'm gonna give it a whirl...it may be out-of-network for me but it's worth a try.  I think my message and the reply was on either Bras 101 or Exchange City where they gave me this info.  They listed the best brands too.

TwirlandCurl:  My PS said to wear underwire bra 24/7 until further notice.  I don't want to take any chances with droopage so that's what I'm doing.  I only take the bra off for showers.  I know every doctor is different but did he/she give you instructions?

Sweetie:  I cannot wait to see the outcome in photos!  Your PS also had nipple/areola placement to consider when he was evaluating implant sizes - and I think that 450 ccs sounds perfect for you!

    Hello girls!

Been on a small trip with DH.  Do you know what he asked me in the car?  "So when is this drop and flop supposed to happen?"  I nearly died laughing!!!

KITWE--PS wanted me to keep a sports bra on that he put on me during surgery to keep the girls from moving around.  The stitches are so new they need a chance to settle and heal.  The semi-reclined sleeping is also the same reason, to keep them from migrating to the sides and ending up under my arm pits.  I got Mentor HP 500cc's.  So far I'm really happy.  And as far as stretching, my left side is tighter than my right.  When I'm in the shower I usually try to push it up against the wall to help stretch the muscle.  I also bring them up over my head and try to lean them back, that seems to help.  I had bought at Walmart a sports bra that came in a pkg of 2 made by fruit of the loom.  It was only $10 and it has hook and eyes in the front.  I wear it when I'm washing the other.

HURLEYGIRLY--my PS always uses Mentor HP with his reconstruction patients.  He says unless there's an abnormality with the chest wall, he uses those since there's no tissue like in an augmentation.  As far as sleeping on your side, I'm still not and it's been 2 weeks.  But I go in for my check-up on Tuesday and you can bet I'm going to be asking him if I can stop.  It's always better to be safe than sorry.  I'd hate for these things to start migrating where I don't want them!!  But I think I'm going to have to be in this sports bra for a month.  He had told me when I asked about underwired bras, that I could wear anything I wanted. 2 weeks down, 2 more to go...hooray!

ESTEPP/travelgal/claire--going to look at your pics!  estepp, I think the fb is a great idea!

BONNIEK--so glad you feel good about your decision.  Sounds like you had a really positive experience at the MX store.  I'm going to try the acupuncture for my hot flashes and see if I can't get off the effexor.  Glad it seems to be helping you out!

SWEETIE--was thinking about you.  Glad you're doing ok and surgery went well.  Can't wait to see pics.  Just remember not to freak out, hamburger buns and drop and fluff.  2 weeks out for me and they are changing everyday!

    Hi Ladies

I went to PS office on Wednesday and everything is going well, they could'nt remove one of the drains(left side) because its producing too much fluid still (ughhh..) of course I was not pleased, so they gave me more antibiotics, and I have to come back on Monday, also they put me in a sports bra type of bra and let me tell you I was very uncomfortable for the past couple of days but I see a big difference in the foobs, they are not as low as they were, it looks like they have more projection!  I was told too keep this on for the next few weeks,I hope to get rid of this drain, I sure miss taking a good shower, we'll see what happens on Monday.

Farrari--glad you're doing well.  You can't shower?  I was able to shower even with my drains after my BMX.  I didn't have drains for my exchange, but I do have the sports bra thingy I have to wear for probably a month!  I do take it off to launder.  Hope you get the drain out on Monday!!  They are a nuisance!

Well girls, I am hopeless on FB, I just closed mine down, as I can't figure it out; so I will just have to come here to keep up with everybody.

It is a great idea, tho, wish I did FB, but I don't.

    xoxo

Farrari, I got the same instructions, but you will get a laugh at this tale....my hubby put a plastic pink little tykes chair in our shower.  No, I am not making this up.  I wish.  At any rate, then he went to the hardware store and bought an extra long shower hose.  I was able to sit on this plastic chair, (it is a VERY sturdy little chair, held up under many the household chore actually) and manuever this shower head very carefully around where I uh, needed to, without getting me  wet or surgical sites wet.  Hubby washed my hair in the sink.

I can't help you with the deodorant, but the shower trick works well.  If you don't have a plastic Little Tykes chair handy (and most don't), you can also use a lawn chair in the shower.

It's an attractive picture, let me tell you, but it gets the job done and you feel like a new woman after.

Farrari - they also sell premoistened disposeable wash cloths at Cvs and other stores.  Great for cleaning up when you can't shower.

Whippetmom-I see the Dr. tomorrow so I will post them right after that. I was thinking the same thing. I was wondering if the nipple position had anything to do with the size choice, I think if he went much bigger the nipple would have been too low.  My husband said he spent a long time explaining it all to him but doesn't remember! Men! I'll ask him tomorrow more about his reasoning.

Happymom828-thanks for the thoughts. Speaking of drop and fluff, when the Dr was marking me for surgery I asked him how long it takes to drop and fluff and he looked at me perplexed and said what is that! We all started laughing. He never heard that term before so I don't know if it's a phrase only us girls here use use. He didn't seem to worried about it. The way he did the surgery I don't have any step off at all. I'm dying to see them though, tomorrow at the visit.

Drop and flop does NOT sound appealing at all!  LOL!  May none of us EVER flop!

"Drop and fluff" is a term coined by the breast augmentation crowd.  Plastic surgeons hate the term....and you have to know they have probably heard it ad nauseum from previous patients, but they ALWAYS deny knowing what it means...possibly because THEY did not come up with the term...

Whippetmom- My Dr. did mention augment patients breasts are different after surgery and sometimes too high and have to compressed down. He said every case with a MX so different. He said no massaging for me. As far as size he started with the smallest sizer and it was already tight! He said going up in size would have been trying to cram something in and it wouldn't have looked any better. He did move them a little closer and stitched everything in place. He explained my muscle stopped and he couldn't move them too close or I could end up with uniboob.  They look really natural but I hope they aren't too swollen because I don't want them to be any smaller than they are now!
