Estepp..... shows you what I know..... wow, that would have been great to get some extras done.  I should have asked before the morning of surgery!  Im really tempted to do some botox, but my husband doesn't like the idea.  He was all for the new boobs however!

Anyone else feel more down after finishing all the surgeries and treatments than they did when they were going through them?  I tend to be a positive person, and when I was going through everything, the pain and discomfort were all-consuming, so I didn't have enough physical or emotional energy to focus on anything else.  Now that I finished my exchange surgery and recovered from my last infection (I got infections after 3 of my 5 surgeries), I feel like things should go back to normal (at least I want them to go back to normal).  Unfortunately, I'm not working now, so I'm dealing with the job search in addition to having more time to be angry and sad about all I've gone through this year.  I know there's a depression/anxiety forum, but there are so many people on this thread, that I thought I'd post here as well.

Wishing a speedy recovery to everyone who had surgeries this week and best of luck to those having surgery next week!

Bec9861--my Effexor bottle says it may cause drowsiness, but, I take it before going to bed at night, so I really don't feel the effect.  It's the generic called:  VENLAFAXINE HCL ER.

    Trying to read through.

MBJ-- I'm sure with those bullet bras Madonna wore back in the day, there's no way possible someone could fit a boob into the points of those things!  HAHAHA.  I loved the 80's!!

Pics of my nip recon after 5 days on the pic forum.  It's not pretty!  LOL

    Laura, love the new avatar!

Facecrafter--Hallelujah!!  I know you arae so happy to get rid of that thing.  Continued healing to you!

Pinkie and Diane--Hope you're feeling ok.  And everything went well, today!

Dawn--WELCOME to the club, girlfriend!!  Had to laugh at your story.  I felt all the tugging going on as well.  Course I could see what he was doing.  My foob looks worse than the hamburger bun when they were first done.  Now it looks like a mound with a plateau!  I even asked how my PS knew not to hit my implant.  My PS told me the same about my alloderm.  It's everywhere.  But he also said my muscle covers about 50% of my implant.  Very interesting and enlightening experience!

    Posting pics, now.

WOW! You don't want to stay away from this thread too long, because SO much happens. I had a lot of reading to do.

Dawn and Diane- I really enjoyed reading your descriptions of the nipple construction and exchange surgery. Thank you for sharing because I feel like I know what to expect. I hope all is continuing to go well with your healings and recoveries. Diane, loved your G.D. (google doctor)... you should get business cards : )

Bonnie- I am glad that you are continuing to feel better.

Rebecca and LG- I am lifting you both up to receive many, many, many good days. Thinking of you both. Lots of (((hugs))).

OK, I am off to check out all the new pics.

happymom - I was kind of depressed when I looked at mine tonight for the first time.  Yuck!  And they're sadly already the perfect size and they're going to shrink ... won't have much left, I'm afraid.  Your pics looked great!  :)

I am finally done with my surgeries, yay,Thank you ladies for getting me to there.

My radiated side seen to do better than the non cancer side. So my left one sits higher on my chest. My DR. says that I'll be in pain for about 3 months from the lippo and it will take about 6 months for the left one to drop down and get it's propper shape. Has anyone heard of this?

I'm so happy to be rid of those uncomfortable expanders. My skin feels pretty tight and she has me in a bra 24/7 for a couple of weeks, Then I am suppost to apply pressure on top of the one that sits high to help it drop?? Any response will be appreciated, Thanks again.  Tina

Wow, I've been 'away' for a few days and lots has happened.  I have a question for you all.  I had my exchange Nov 30 and I am now tighter than I was with the TE's!  I kept waiting for that relief everyone talks about......still waiting.  I knew my radiated side would probably still be tight but didn't expect the prophy side.  I guess the 'dropping and fluffing' isn't going to happen either.  My radiated side actually looks better than the non-radiated.  The non-radiated is very ripply and looks really weird if I use that arm.  Kind of disappointing.

Been off for a few days and skimming, skimming through the posts to catch up just a bit.

Judy, good riddance is right!!!!  Happy healing sans purse pup!!!  You so deserve it. BTW, nice job on Deborah's nips/areolas--they look great!

Hope all you ladies recovering get the Healing Fairy's visit along with the Boob Fairy's magic. It's just so much to have extended healing, pain, and infection issues on top of everything else.  (((hugs))) to All, deekaay.

mom3band:  I would PM Whippetmom and get her input.  Also, Estepp who has had radiation to one side only.  Gentle hugs.

Diane & Pinky:  Yay for yippe squishees!!

LG300:  I can sooooo relate.  I have been in an absolute funk for over a month now.  Can't seem to get in the spirit of things at all.  No energy.  Zip.  I was doing chemo this time last year and now I have a bad case of the blues.

Laura:  You have never looked old-ever!!!  We can just now see your beautiful face all lit up with a beautiful smile.

Rebetata:  Glad you are doing better.  My PS plans to do my nipple and fat grafting at the same time and yes they can go back in as many times as they need for fat grafting.  My insurance doesn't cover it but it's a teaching hospital so he can only o the fat grafting if I am having something else done.

DawnHope:  I truly hope that you don't lose too much is size.  When I asked my PS about it, he said I shouldn't lose much plus I am having fat grafting.  Not so sure about that.

Would love to hear from some Uni's who have had the nipple done on one side.  Almagetty??? When are you going to post your pictures?!

LG -- yeah I think it's a kind of postponed depression.  We go through a LOT all at once and then it's get throug the next hurdle and the next and then POOF here are your new boobs (and no matter how good they look there is a loss there) so, yeah, totally normal to feel the blues.  You too MBJ.  Just wallow in it, I say :)  Eventually it will get boring and you'll go shopping and feel better (or do something you love and feel better).  Not to mention: aren't the holidays a hard time emotionally anyway?

3rd night after exchange.  Nothing to report other than insomnia and Christmas stress!  No real pain.  I'm taking Oxycodone for pain and I think that is giving me the insomnia, but other than that I feel pretty darn good.  These new soft implants feel so much better than before.... already.  Does anyone else have an itchy back after anesthesia?  It's the funniest thing... feels so good to get my back scratched gently by DH (or even a nearby wall).  Nite .....

Well, my exchange date is fast approaching. Yea!

Have already met with PS to go over sizes, got one more fill - ugh - to make sure there is enough material for the preferred size. Pre-op testing complete.

So, one more Herceptin this Wednesday (my last one) and then exchange and Port removal. Double Yea!

I am not a heavy poster, but I do lurk alot!

Best of luck to all the exchanges this week, and those that have just completed!

The antibiotics started making me sick to my stomach yesterday and I had to stop taking them last night.  The prescription was for 10 days, but hopefully 5 days is going to be enough.  I see PS tomorrow and expect him to say that things are much better.

I'll be thinking of everyone who is either healing from surgery or awaiting exchange this next week.  Take care...

LadyinBama - I asked my PS nurse if he gives a discount if you have anything else done since you are put asleep anyway for the exchange - and the answer was yes - a disount on his fee, on the surgical center fee and on the anesthesiologists fee.  I am turning 50 so I figured I deserved to have a few things done.  Sooooo I had a chin lift and laser resurfacing on my face.  The surgery ended up being 7 1/2 hours (instead of 2 1/2 if I had just had the exchange), but I feel great, it's been 2 months.   It doesn't hurt to ask the PS!!

LG and Rebecca- You two have been on my mind since your posts about feeling a little blue. I just wanted you both to know that I admire you for posting your honest and true feelings. It takes guts to admit that you feel down and wonder if this is normal. Of course, you really DO have an explanation for feeling low, because you have been through a LOT in the past year. I think we should call it "post foobie depression" or "post traumatic exchange syndrome". I am sure that many of us will experience exactly what you shared. Your posts will help all of us get thru this. Thanks.

Lilah- Your response was so wise. Thx. O : )

LG300- The post-exchange depression was kind of a big surprise for me.  But I think that's the point where you can finally take a breath and process everything you've been through.  I'm in the midst of job hunting, too, so I can empathize.  There is a great thread on here called "Great saying about depression".  The thread is less about suffering from depression and more about dealing with the emotional aftershocks of BC.  It's been a great place to share those thoughts and feelings.

Kansasmom, MBJ, Lilah and Kate - Thank you so much for your kind, supportive words.  Kate, I saw the thread you mentioned after I posted my last comment.  I've found it very helpful to read.  I spent the weekend with my sister and two adorable nephews (my brother-in-law is out of town), and am feeling better (at least for now).  Wishing everyone a great week!
