greycruise I don't think rippling is "bad" it just really doesn't look to good. Like I said I had a lot of rippling on my first exchange and I hates it.. It just didn't look nice to me.. No I have literally no rippling and I think it looks much better...   :)

    Congrats Slinky!!

I am thinking of trying to move up my exchange surgery as I finished my fills early. My ps waits 6 weeks for exchange and now I am waiting 9 weeks. Is there any benefit to waiting an extra 3 weeks as far as stretching, or should I move the date up? My skin and muscles are pretty tight and I am in pain!

    Opinions anyone?

Slinky. Great news. Congrats on your exchange. Sounds like everything went well. Please do take it easy you don't want to destroy all the hard work

Redskyatnight. Sorry no first hand experience yet however everything I read states that the longer you can wait for exchange the better the outcome for the muscles will be stretched as far as they need and will " remember" their new position if you give them time. So I guess my opinion would be to wait the extra 3 weeks if you can. Sorry that you are in pain wishing you relief

First day out from exchange and my ribs feel like they went twelve rounds in a boxing ring. No stinging, burning or tightness in the chest area like I had with the fills and the BMX. I just have a bruised feeling in the chest and the ribs.

Redskyatnight, I fast-tracked my fills and the pain was off the charts. After 10 days the pain settled down, but it was still tight and then it was off for the next fill. PS felt that two weeks after last fill was enough time and for me, he was right. I think the more time they are in, the better the results...I am no expert, but if the skin, tissue and muscle have a chance to stretch, there will be more room to work with. I am glad this is over, but because I endured so much pain with my fills, If asked, I would advise slow and steady!

thanks Lilah for the info on Nordstroms.  I guess I wll be in a surgical bra for a week anyway from what I heard the other day from PS.

Slinky--glad it's over for you.  Your posts keep me going, thinking things will get better, things will get better...I can't imagine fast tracking the fills, I did 50cc about every week and had significant pain with each one for at least a couple of days... you must have been really miserable.

Beacher--hang in there, we're all pulling for you.

redskyatnight:  I had my TE's in for a total of 5 months from MX to exchange and they are very natural looking.  It helps prevent permanent hamburger bun look and gets the muscles to stretch and relax.  This isn't a race--slow and easy does pay off in the end.  I massaged mine daily and this really helped with the pain.

Congratulations on all of the new exchanges!!!!  Take it easy and don't over do it!!!

redsky -- I agree with MBJ.  Waiting longer gives the TEs a better chance of doing a good job of stretching you out.

Mentor or Natrelle, my ps offers both. Does anyone have any info that can help? I am 4 weeks post op with 550cc te's. They expect that by the time my insurance paperwork comes back I will be ready for exchange (4weeks). I am very excited but nervous :-) I know that whippetmom is the expert but I wanted to also get any info that you guys have. Thanks in advance!!!

MBJ--just checking, you meant you massaged your implants, not the TEs, right?

Well, gosh I hope my PS knows what he is doing then because he said he likes to wait 3 weeks!  Either standards are changing or my skin is doing really GREAT!  Im a little concerned now!  LOL

I had my exchange three weeks ago and I have an unsightly crease on the outer side of my foob, an unbalance cleavage (even though work was done on my natural), and an unbalance protrusion. Ug Ug Ug...heavy sigh:(

I wonder what can be done. I meet with my ps in 4 weeks. He did say something about fat grafting. Has anyone here had that done to reshape the "girls"? Any words of encouragement? I know this is all vanity, but ...

Chinablue:  It's not vanity and I think it's the whole point of PS-to return us to as close to "normal" as possible.  I would PM Whippetmom for help.

Suebee:  Three weeks after exchange???? That is waaaaaay too soon IMHO!!

Rowan:  I massaged my TE & the implant.  The muscle hurt and that was the only thing that helped, though the TE feels very weird: almost like when your arm falls asleep.

Oh, I see...yeah, the TEs themselves don't have much feeling, but it hurts alot to touch muscles around them. I can't imagine trying to move them much.  Sometimes heat helps--I have a rice (?) and lavendar pad that I drape across my chest after heating it in the microwave.

Hello ladies - Just a quick note. I am so pleased that this thread continues to provide support to so many of our tata sisters. It certainly did for me when I was in the midst of surgeries. I can't believe it has been two years since my exchange. I can honestly say that I don't think about my implants very often. They get cold in the winter when we do winter hikes and they tend to get tight if I jump into a cold Adirondack lake, but otherwise I can't complain. They look great in clothes and swim suits and for me they work well. I wish you all the best as you go through all this. It does work out in the end. Hugs to all. - Jean

Hi Ladies, I think it may be best to stick with my exchange surgery date, the extra time will be beneficial - actually now it's only 7 more weeks to go.  I have the TE pain under control again. I am taking a conservative approach to my exercise- only PT stretches and walking or elliptical and rest when needed. No more fun strenuous activities until I have recovered from my exchange surgery!

    Thanks for your input, everyone!

MJB, I am trying the massage and I think it is helping with the pain. Did you just rub around the perimeter?

Redsky -- if you have a friend or a significant other who is willing, get him/her to rub your shoulder blades.  I found that a good massage of the shoulder blades really helped me with TE pain (it relaxes the pectoral muscle that is being stretched).

Jean -- ditto what MBJ said!

MBJ to make myself feel a little better I am doing a lot of internet searches on the delay between expansion and exchange.  I have found several plastic surgeons who dont wait more than a few weeks so I dont feel SOOO bad.  And I found an article with the International Journal of Reconstruction that suggests that exchanging in 2 weeks or waiting 6 months showed no difference in the occurance of capsular contracture.  And the degree of ptosis was not affected by the delay either.  Ill keep searching however beause I am finding information on both sides of the coin!

My PS had me wait 3 months between end of fills and exchange. A lot of variation between PSs.  I was very tight, but TE pain disappeared completely during the wait interval.

SuebeeC, be patient, I waited 3 months before doing exchange.  I am glad I waited, it gave me time to really research what I was getting and thanks to Whippetmom I went up 25ccs from what PS was going to do.  I had exchange 2 weeks ago and my left ribs still feel like they are broken and bruised badly.  I was supposed to go to work today, but still on pain meds for this, very painful.  I am glad I waited, I like the outcome except for rippling.  I am in surgical bra, switching between it and sports bra for at least another 2 weeks.

JKZ, thank you for your response to rippling. Have friends in Jersey, I hope you are staying cool and out of the storms.

Suebee: My PS wanted to do mine right away--He had it in his head that I wanted to remain an A cup, silly man.  My results are very natural and I feel it's becuase I waited.  I think you only want it that fast if you are going with a gummy.

Suebee- I am curious to hear what you find out about waiting. I am currently awaiting exchange & I'm taking longer then the 6 weeks my ps waits. Though I am overfilled now he wants to put 60cc's more & I'm holding off a bit to let my pain ease. And he also said he likes to fill more the morning of my surgery too.

Yes, a shoulder blade massage does make you feel better...even if you have to do it yourself. Better then anything I've tried....other then pain pills. Heat was also good- hot bath/shower, those microwave bean things recommended & I personally liked the blow dryer.
