Done with my consult... He's going to fix things!!! Not only is he going to lift the side that is too low, he's going to give me the slightly larger implant I need to make things all around more symmetrical!! I have to wait another 2 months to allow the scar tissue to form a little more, but I'm soooo happy that he's willing to do the work that my now EX- plastic surgeon refused to do :-)

Jdevonm - Oh yay! I'm so happy for you! Good for you for pursuing things with your ins company. What a wonderful lift to your spirits this must be

Jdevonm,
So glad for you..saw my PS yesterday for revision date will see if I get a call back if not already made an appt. with someone else just I case ...had similular problem as you..0 -
Jdevmom,
I am SO happy for you! SOOOOO happy!!
Couch ladies:
I stayed in the recliner for about two more weeks after my exchange. Then made myself go back to bed. It took a while to gradually work my way back to "normal" (one pillow under my head, one pillow to hug or prop with). I am so happy to be able to sleep on my side again. I do have an occasional twinge of pain and then readjust and most nights find myself back in the recliner for a couple of hours at some time during the wee morning hours. Still....progress!!!0 -
Believe it I recived my revision date July 9th so surprised but I will be taking my husband for pre op appt. maybe he will be a little nicer..

thnx guys! my whole fam n friends are like U are STILL on the couch??!?? i do agree it is partly habit too..but dang its been since 12/3..so yeah i guess it is..! i will try to transition...jde-yay for u..i know u must have walked out of that appt and took a big exhale!! sherry..hope office is better this time..i give 24 hrs for rtn call..then will call back n nicely state it is my 2nd, 3rd...without a rtn call.. ok so revision ladies..what got u to that point? not looking/feeling right in clothes or not looking fellung right naked? so i am still very early post op..and am very happy so far..right side is still sore and probably swollen some, but i do think lefty is sl lower than righty..if i kinda slightly push up on lefty it matches right perfectly.. not sure if it is surgery worthy..? for thoae who have had or are going to have revision..did ps want u to wait a certain amt of time? sorry if these are repeat questions... dulci..i have been seeing misc pics, store displays of ankles crossed with heels..and i immediately think of u!!

I am home and the proud owner of two brand new Sientra 500 cc silicone gel implants! He did a lot of pocket work and removed the underarm flab, can't wait to see! I feel great, a little discomfort, but no pain. Intend to keep up with pain med schedule the first few days, just in case. Good luck to my other exchange sisters!

Congrats unowhoandwhy, sounds like it went well for you, sending healing wishes to you. I'm up next, tomorrow morning at 9:40 at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore. I'm a little anxious but so looking forward to getting rid of these terrible, horrible expanders. I didn't think this day would ever arrive, one more night sleeping on my side with the expanders. I'm not looking forward to sleeping on my back again, but if that's what it takes I can do it.
You ladies have been so wonderful with suggestions and telling how your journey has gone, I'm ready! I've been lurking and reading, I don't post often but I feel like I know a lot of you.
Be brave Romey, sending you lots of love, hugs and good wishes. Shellshine, the wait is almost over, sending you lots of love, hugs and good wishes too.
Thank you dear sisters for sharing and wishing us well.

Cathyann - the lower portion of both of my breasts had a red rash after exchange. It wasn't underneath the surgical tape, so I chalked it up to contact dermatitis. It itched some, and the skin felt rough. My nurses, PS, etc. didn't know what it was. Cortisone seemed to help, but it took a few weeks to go away. I didn't have Alloderm, but I have read that some women can have a red rash/reaction to Alloderm. Definitely call your PS if you're concerned about it.

Good morning! I'm here in the waiting room. I'm excited to get these awful expanders gone. I thought I'd be anxious but I'm ready. Hugs to those who have gone before me.
How are you feeling unowho?
Best wishes to my exchange sisters.0 -
Jdevonm Yea! Soooo happy for you! And YOU made it happen! Sooo proud of you! You are encouraging so many more women with your strength and tenacity.
To all the ladies who have just had their exchange, congrats! It reminds me that there is a light at the end of this dark TE tunnel.
Jackie. Prayers for you today.
Blessings to all !

Good luck, Jackie! I feel 1,000 times better with my squishies! Some discomfort, but no pain. I am keeping strictly to the pain med schedule the first few days, just in case. Even slept in my bed not a recliner last night, woot!
Oh and the discomfort isn't from the squishies, it is from under my arms where he took out all the extra fat & skin that was so unsightly.
I keep peeking inside the surgical bra (can't see anything!) and touching them... good thing I live alone & don't have to explain that! :-)0 -
jdev I am in kasnas city in MO and I had a gret plastic surgeon who accepted my medicaid. I was nervous he was the only doctor I could find at the time and he was amazing. I got specatacular results. His name is Dr. Mathew Hlavacek. He works out of Truman hosptial and he also has his own practice. PM me if you have any questions about him. The work he does at Truman is volounteer he really has a good heart.

unowhoandwhy,
How are you doing today.....do take it is easy
I think my surgeon is going to take extra fat off under my arm pits and sides, when I have my revision ....is it really painful?
OH BTW....even when married, after this surgery, I always catch myself feeling MYSELF up!
....think it goes with this surgery!Di

My doctor wants me massaging regularly, but they feel so nice...maybe better then my real ones ever did...so maybe I am guilty too...Di2012

Heck, I'm guilty of self-massage (breasts, that is
) even with my TE's! Not that they feel wonderful, I just feel that keeping them moving around a bit is a good thing. And since they don't feel like 'me' I sometimes don't even realize I'm doing it.....definitely not socially acceptable behavior!

ROMEY----->

So glad to know about all of us recliner and sofa sleepers - made me laugh - I'm part of the group, too. Last night I went to sleep in bed, 4 hrs later back on the sofa. Even tho the TE's don't hurt like before, I think in our dream state we realize that sleeping flat with these rocks can only be done in intervals.

Hi all, I've been living with TE's since July 2011 and finally go in for exchange surgery on May 21. This might sound kinda funny, but it's like I'm having the bi-lateral mastectomies all over again. I'm excited to finally have permanent implants in, but I've been living with expanders for so long, they have become a part of me. I have been emailing Deborah (whippetmom) to get advice on implant size and she has been a great help. I think my problem is that I have to deal once again with disappointment if I decide I don't like the decision I made. I know everyone else has the same worry, so thought maybe I'd just post my concern and find out how you all dealt with it. - Lori

TO: The sofa/recliner group...you made me laugh...
We don't have a sofa in our house, we have one recliner, other chairs with foot stools and benches.
I guess I have my own way to get by.
We have had an adjustable beds for 15+ years, (2 twin XL pushed together=KING size bed)....Replaced the mattresss a few years ago to memory foam and we have an additional memory foam toppers. I sleep head UP/foot just slightly UP and hubby sleeps flat. (had to sleep full UP position when I had my TE surgery
I also have to have my 2 micro bead body pillows and my U shaped neck pillow, and two smaller squishes micro bead pillows for arm support or extra foob support when sleeping on my sides.)
I am really impressed with my positioning strap (from my PS)....seems to be helping and I only started wearing on Sunday night.

I am part of the Recliner/sofa club and the Looky-Lou group! Been so long without a breast it looks soooo funny to have a real cleavage again! I check often, can't believe the difference! Weekend before exchange had a family gathering and didn't wear a cami underneath for the 1st time in ages; yup, caught myself looking down at the chest even then. Tomorrow is 2nd post-op, hopefully stitches and tapes come off tomorrow (almost coming off from showering). For those of you looking forward to exchange, there definitely is an immediate difference and it only gets better. Next big milestone: can't wait to spend a whole night sleeping in my OWN bed!
Ladies who have/had surgery this week: congrats!0 -
Shellshine----->
I have been trying to catch up on everyone & I saw you are having your upper eyelids done along with your exchange....oh am I jealous!
I had field of vison testing done by two different eye surgeons and qualilfied with both, even went through with the preauthorization (pre-medicare) with the first one who use to be my eye doctor, that was at least 3 yrs ago, but he became ill so practices less, not really reliable, only operates in Seattle, which the parking garage near his office very expensive.
I went to another eye surgeon, and he was more interested in who and what my insurance was before my FREE consult, that was in Sept 2012. RULED HIM, he seemed like a flake at my consult, and a definate ruled out after reading complaints on WA State licensing.
So them I go to another eye doctor in Sept 2012 and he I ask about my cataract & eyelid surgery, told me to have my cataract surgery done BEFORE eyelid surgery, (but he didn't do eyelid surgery), one of his partners in the group, did the all the eyelid surgeries .
I had my cataract surgery, between left eye & right eye surgery, I had my mamomgram schedule & suspicuos spots were found, & had one ultra sound guided biospy & then my radiologist put off (for two weeks) another breast stereotatic biospy, at which time cancer was confirmed.....so my eyelid surgery was put on hold.

Enough on me, I just want you to know I will be thinking you on Friday when you go through your 4 surgeries...2 squishy foobs and 2 eyelids....woooo hooo...JACKPOT!!!!! Take care....hugs,
Di
