Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?

A little bit worried and a little bit scared. I went for the additional labs my oncologist wanted done and asked what they were - of course I had to check out Dr. Google. Sure hope my oncologist is being overly cautious. He ran PTH, PTH peptides and ionized calcium. My poor left vein has so much scar tissue that last week and today, no blood would flow so using my right (BC side/lymph node removed) for blood draw. My blood calcium has been elevated for a couple years - at my physical in June, my PCP ran Vit D and parathyroid levels. Parathyroid was slightly elevated so referral to endocrinologist. Endocrinologist did a 24 hour urine with calcium and it was normal. Endocrinologist didn't seem too concerned. Only change was that Prolia was for life. Only real treatment for hyperparathyroid disease is surgery but based on my levels it was indicated (happy to hear). But now I'm worried. Oncology nurse called Tuesday saying oncologist was worried about calcium level being elevated and wanted to run some more labs. So now its wait and see. As the endocrinologist said to me, you have so much. going on with you!!! But at this point no treatments. No family history of any of my diagnoses and the list keeps getting longer and longer.
43 this morning but got to the high 70s. Gorgeous weather and the tree colors are beautiful. But work is freezing. I wear a fleece all day and still cold. I'm okay in sandals and bare legs, but my chest and hands freeze.
Petite - pretty lousy treatment at your appt. I consider the NP at the medical practice I use as my PCP.
It seems that an annual check is questions and more questions listen to heart and lungs and not much else. They no longer with do A1C unless pre-diabetic or diabetic. Not doing cholesterol annually either.
Mary good for you on getting to the gym 3 times this week. I don't like gyms and when I had a membership I never went. I walk and use my under the desk elliptical.
Have a great night and Friday.

Karen, how are your thyroid levels? (Not just TSH, which is only part of the story). I know you're thin, but being cold all the time still seems concerning...or maybe you need to add a little body fat. I'd be glad to be your donor for that!
Cindy, you are such a caring aunt!
Lef, welcome--and a belated Shana Tovah to you too.
MM, has your DH discussed cataract surgery? My 'racts got so bad that I couldn't drive at night except on well-lit streets & roads; and oncoming headlights were blinding. My first drive home from Madison, WI after having my cataract surgeries was an utter epiphany--barely if ever had to hit my "brights!" I am getting some capsular clouding (6 yrs. later) in the left eye, but it's not interfering with anything. Besides, all it'll take to cure it is a couple of laser-zaps in the ophthalmologist's chair. Speaking of which, on days when I have to have a dilated eye exam, I leave the bldg. wearing sunglasses--with a dark-green insert under them and a pair of wraparound cataract shades over them. Otherwise, driving would be a nightmare.
As to tinnitus? I had no idea I had it until the first time I experienced pitch distortion after an ear infection in 1989 and again in 2004. And I wasn't tested for it until 2004, when an audiologist fitting me for custom musicians' earplugs inserted a tiny mic and picked up the sounds ("otoacoustic emissions") my cochlea was making. It was only then I realized that I have no memory of what silence sounds (or "doesn't sound") like--so many were the ear infections and doses of tetracycline and antihistamines I had since early childhood. Found out that NSAIDs and even Tylenol are also "ototoxic" (they injure the cilia inside the cochlea so that their ability to "wave" in the fluid and transmit the sound impulses from the eardrums to the auditory nerve which transforms them fo electrical impulses to the brain, which transforms them back into perceptible sounds). I still hear just fine up to about 12kHz (no dog-whistles or "mosquito ringtones"), despite my years of playing bass right next to the kick-drum. I never go anywhere without my little pouch of ear filters-never know when or where I may be exposed to loud music. (I still have the custom ear-molds Sensaphonics made for those earplugs--at one point I considered having in-ear monitors made for performing; and they'll eventually come in handy if & when I'll need HAs).
My "normal" tinnitus doesn't bother me at all--as I said, I've had it all my life. Only time I turn up the TV volume is when someone is running the vacuum cleaner nearby. The type of tinnitus that sent me to the ENT in 2019-20 (and led to the MRIs that incidentally detected the tiny "mass" in my R orbital cavity that turned out to be melanoma) was "pulsatile:" I could hear my heartbeat so loud--especially when lying down--that it sounded like soldiers marching on crusty snow. At its worst, I found that a sound-generator (white or brown noise) app on my iPhone Bluetoothed to an earbud masked it just enough for me to be able to fall and stay asleep. I was also at my thinnest since 2019--after losing 70 lbs., the fat I'd lost had been "insulating" my ear canal from the congenital extra blood vessel abutting it. Gaining back 15 lbs. seems to have stopped it.
Mary, hope you lose as much weight as you want to. I have yet to set foot in a gym (other than PT clinic) since the pandemic began. I don't care that I'm triple-boosted (including the combo shot) and had Omicron last January, even though that's supposed to confer superior immunity. With the new subvariants emerging, I'm not about to spend an hour indoors with unmasked people spewing their viral loads around and sweating all over the equipment. The only indoor places (other than home) where I don't wear a hi-filtration mask are well-ventilated capacious restaurants I know & trust, my dentist's office, my facialist (and she wears a mask and tests herself weekly), and during Bar Show rehearsals (and I keep my mask on when not singing). I even wear a mask in taxis & rideshares, whether or not the driver does. I know I'm unlikely to get very sick in the event a new subvariant evades my acquired antibodies and infects me, but each bout of COVID still increases the likelihood of heart problems and long-term effects. One bout per lifetime is about all I am willing to have, even though mine was extremely mild.
I'd heard "Indian summer" defined as the first short period of warm weather after the first frost. By that definition, ours starts tomorrow (high of 70) and runs through Monday morning--with 80 possible on Sunday. (Not sure what Native Americans have to do with it, but long-ingrained cultural/social linguistic faux pas die hard). I'll be spending much of a gorgeous warm Saturday indoors rehearsing downtown, but at least it'll be a pleasant walk to & from the trains. (Not gonna drive--the river bridges will be up with boaters heading from the lake marinas to inland drydocks).
We haven't had rain since Mon. night, and won't again till at least this coming Mon., so I had to water what remains of our herbs & tomatoes (the hairy little bushy-tailed bastards managed to score a couple more today).

My niece called her sister tonight, she’s feeling better being there and has already received some counseling. Thank you all for your well wishes.
Petite you were slighted at your appointment. Mary keep up the good work! Getting to the gym 3 times is great. Cardplayer best wishes for good results on your lymph node. Jackie, Indian summer, oh do I wish we’d get it but now it would seem it’s not happening.
Eye exam was fine. It was full sun out there today. I wore my sun glasses and squinted all the way home. I kept the shades up to allow sun in to warm the house, and kept my sunglasses on inside. A crazy lady look, but I didn’t care.
Roof in FL, due to hurricane damage and not random damage from a tree or similar, you pay 2% of the dwelling insured amount. If it were a non hurricane event, I have a $1,000 deductible in FL. The roof is a “hip” roof with more coverage area than a northern peaked roof. I paid under $7,000 for a new roof in NY in November of 2020; no insurance claim, regular wear and tear. I’m learning more about roofs and insurance than I’d care to know.
Might hit 60 by 3 pm tomorrow. No mention of rain until Sunday evening so I’m good with it. New replacement glass going into my slider window tomorrow morning. One more thing checked off the “to do” list

Good morning. It was 36 degrees this morning and going to 76 this afternoon. I am planning to do the river walk today. I haven't done that for a while. (hope I have the energy for a nice walk). I am feeling better, but some reason there is a delay on getting the med the ARNP ordered. I will check on that today.
Illinois. I like the thought of the day.

petite - I remember reading an article about doctors treatment of elderly patients in the Washington Post years ago. I’ve been pretty lucky with most of my doctors, but ageism effects the quality of our care.
Karen - when do you get your test results back? My PCP said Medicare only allows A1C testing if glucose levels are high. I was use to getting it tested every year.
I get my ultrasound done later this morning and hope to get results back today or Monday.
Have a wonderful day

Shortly after filing for divorce and kicking hubby out, the roof of the house developed a leak. The roofers doing an initial assessment discovered a rock on the spot where the leak was. I got an entirely new shingling job, fully paid by insurance. Vandalism. Hmmmnnn.....
I moved my gabapentin dosage around and suddenly I am sleeping well. 8 hours last night, according to Fitbit!!
Cindy, glad your niece feels better!
I go to AF at times during the day when the people per square yard ratio is quite low. Never afraid except at the peak covid times. I get my shots and have a PT appointment around noontime today.
At one time I was phobic about ototoxins, but once I quit smoking my hearing loss rate slowed to a crawl.
Cindy, an under-desk elliptical does very little. Get on a real one, and you will quickly feel it. I had a PTSD episode this week and attacked the elliptical as if it was the enemy, and used almost every muscle of my body.

Had my ultrasound and results are fine. Phew.

I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I love. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no brief candle to me; it is a sort of splendid torch which I've got a hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations. -George Bernard Shaw

((((((cardplayer))))), I knew you could do it. Congrats. On the grateful side of your list. Happy for you.

Congrats, cardplayer!
Mary, my ortho and PT said the same thing about those seated (as opposed to recumbent) ellipticals (like the Cubii) & pedalers: they may exercise the soleus muscles (leading up from the ankles to the calves) a little, temporarily increase circulation and burn a few calories; but the calorie burn is no more than chair-aerobics, and they provide no weightbearing exercise whatsoever and therefore no load on the bones necessary to mitigate osteopenia/porosis. Even a recumbent elliptical or bike provides some loading (albeit less than an erect one which involves gravity) and much more caloric burn--especially if combined with arm-resistance poles or pulleys. Seriously considering dragging my 30-yr-old NordicTrack (with pulleys) out of storage and using it up in the attic as a treadmill-alternate. Best of all for bone-loading is "ballistic" weightbearing (running, jogging, jumping rope); but those are a no-no for my knee prostheses which could get jarred loose.
I don't start my PT till 11/17 (earliest I could get), so walking it is for now. I can't even get in to see an endocrinologist till January, or even my podiatrist (for ingrown toenails) till at least after next week's mani-pedi.

Sun is out today though it started out cool. I think it will warm again. In fact, the next few days should be quite nice. Hmmm, Indian Summer maybe. Hard to say since most of our weather patterns have not been the usual for some time now. Nothing has been actually what we knew as norms. Had rain this past winter, and only two snows. One dust and the other maybe an inch and a half. Just really wasn't much of a winter. Have to say though -- I didn't mind all that much.
It is windy outside so if the wind has any chill to it, I don't know that the sun and warm temps will make us feel summery. Leaves are gathering, but not so much that we need to mulch yet. Anyway, SIL has vehicles around here needing work. Water pump on one, brakes on the other so you can't put it off much at all. The third is for SIL's son, and he will get 2 months free rent. SIL put brakes on for a guy he works with last night -- so he has been kept busy with me and mind and family and friends. Hope it slows down so other things can be caught up.
Doing some laundry and working on my room. Was going to do it yesterday, but some other things needed attention in the living room and bathroom so that got done yesterday.
Hope you all have a great Saturday.

Light jacket weather today and finished last gardening cleanup on my list. We have an area that I refer to as my "secret garden" since it is not visible from most of the yard. I found it by accident about 2 years after we moved in when some original bushes that hid it died off and immediately went to work trying to make order of it. There is a natural stone wall that was built (? not sure when) and the bushes on the top obscured visualization of this area. It was also overgrown so I cleared it, took ferns that were growing along the edge of the road on the property next door (before it was developed) and used my children's red wagon to drag them home. I planted this area, introduced a slate walkway along the wall and slate steps down to the front lawn. I then planted the ferns in the shadiest area, hyacinth bulbs, lilies of the valley, azaleas, and crepe myrtle descend the hill and some tiger lilies at the end. It is still somewhat hidden. The bed at the bottom is daffodils that have naturalized. It was overgrown with weeds which really did quite well this summer and now is weed-free. The leaves that decomposed make nice compost which we distributed on the beds and then swept all the slate walkways. It still is a hidden gem but much more presentable now and ready for winter. Clean-up was 2 large contractor bags of weeds and debris.
Finished the last of the mulching by the stream which took a total of 25 bags. Trees to be removed on 11/1 include 2 ashes and 2 tulip poplars in back yard and 1 ash on front lawn. One poplar is rotting and the other is okay but would require a crane for removal due to size and placement so might as well take it now rather than have to hire one in a year or two. Not in our original plans or budget but never want to live through another house restoration. Now want to enjoy our new fire pit area and our newly finished yard.
Regan has been here for 6 weeks now and she is slowly warming up to DH so that is a good thing. Settling in and now able to just take naps rather than be hypervigilant as she was initially. I am pleased with her progress.

Aw Regan! I can't believe you have had him six weeks! Seems like just a couple weeks ago that you were going to pick him up! He has come a long way! Must be really scary for a dog to go to a new and unfamiliar home! One never knows what all happened in his life prior to becoming a member of your family. He certainly has a home with beautiful gardens and plenty of room to explore! With you and your DH he is one lucky dog!

Always great to hear positive news about the animal friends. Regan is a lucky dog. If she is anything like our sweet Bill (so missed) the rocky times will fade to such a degree, it will be hard to know most of the time that they were ever there. Bill never learned how to greet people un-conditionally after being abused, but he did quit hiding behind me after a few yrs. I will admit though that I had interacted with Bill a lot w/o knowing abuse was going on -- so we were partially bonded when I took him. He was just under a yr. old, so I didn't have a lot of the challenges of yrs. of issues. Back them, he took to me as quick as I took to him when I got him here.
We are still talking about another friend but have not had a lot of time to look lately. Likely something I will have to start on my own and then other family members will join in when it comes down to making a choice.

I’ve never used a desk elliptical, in fact I haven’t ever seen one. We have a large elliptical machine in the FL gym but often have to wait to use it. Great cardio workout. Funny story, the first time I ever used one it felt like I was going to fly off the thing. It was an OMG moment.
Regan must feel the love and is able to relax. Apple picking last weekend and someone brought two Dals with them. Guessing male and female by their sizes. I was in the apple cider doughnut line, fresh made and hot, so I wouldn’t get out of line to go see them.
We went to Liberty Ridge yesterday with my niece & grand niece and spent 3+ hours there. It’s a farm place for families - corn maze, animals to pet & feed, train rides, paintball, many things for all ages, but the most fun is a ‘pumpkin shooter” - you put tiny pumpkins into an air pressure machine, aim at 2 metal pumpkin designs way out in a field and try to hit them. We bought pumpkins as we left, and some apple cinnamon coffee cake. A great day to be out, weather was beautiful as were the surroundings. I think our area is past peak for leaf peeping but still beautiful. 69 yesterday.
In yesterdays mail my insurance carrier sent the update for next year. They’ve dropped Caremark for CapitalRx. So many questions for them. I loved Caremark and ability to follow me via mail deliveries to FL. At this point I’m only on 2 scripts, one is anastrazole which I want to stop soon, but I have to hope the new service will be as good as the old. I’ll get any needed refills before 2023! It’s always something.
Enjoy your Sunday ladies!

cindyny, So great to read about Liberty Ridge. BTW, I would not have gotten out of the apple cider doughnut line either! It is ALL about priorities! I try to stay away from sweets, so I am picky when it comes to them, but I love hot apple cider doughnuts! We usually visit an apple farm near New Hope PA and they also have a bakery with the same "line!" It kills me not to be able to go there this fall, thanks to"strike three" with BC! That said, no time is a good time to get cancer, so it is what it is. Still it makes me sad since fall is my favorite season. I am still holding out hope that my DD will bring me some of those goodies when they go to the farm.
Bummer about Caremark to CapitalRx. Our insurance is from my husband's retirement from a major pharmaceutical company. One of the few good benefits from his 30+ years of service. We have Caremark/CVS. I didn't like CVS at first, always went to a small private pharmacy, but then we started to get used to it and felt it was better to get all prescriptions from one place. Now we actually really like the store we go to, which is good because our former pharmacy closed for good. I am only on three prescription drugs, but my husband is on more than ten, including two types of insulin. Really hope that cap on insulin goes through. Seems like nothing that seems to benefit us ever comes to fruition.
I don't take any AI. Tried after second time with BC but stopped after 6 months due to side effects. My sister takes an AI and has seemed to have no side effects, which is good for her! I know she thinks I got BC a third time due to not taking the AI, and maybe she's right, but if I could go back in time, knowing what I know now, I would still have chosen not to take it at all. When I say this, please know I am only talking about myself, my stage and type of cancer and NO ONE ELSE! If I could go back and change one thing, it would have been walking away from the surgeon at the cancer hospital I went to the second time I was diagnosed, and going elsewhere, where I most certainly would have been allowed to have a bilateral mastectomy. But we can't go back in time, so I am fine being a "poster woman" for early detection via mammograms!
Last night was fun because both of our beloved sports teams were playing well, albeit both at the same time! PSU football, and the Phillies! We had season tickets for the Phillies many years ago when our kids were young. We won a chance to buy play off and World Series tickets via a season ticket lottery. That was back in the 1990's and they did not win the World Series that year, but the experience of being at a World Series game was amazing!. Our son ended up moving to the mid-west due to a job offer his wife received, and the following year 2008. Then in 2018 the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl. Our DS has not been a happy camper about missing all the parades since he has moved. I wish he hadn't moved so far away, but when you raise your kids to be independent, which is the goal of every parent, this happens. I am just glad he is still happily married with two beautiful, healthy children. Also very glad for FaceTime! haha
Supposed to rain for the Phillies game today, but could be worse. Crossing fingers they win! We have to get joy wherever we can!

Peace of mind just can't be bought. Trust me: Even if your conscience doesn't stop you from playing dirty to get what you want, once you get it, it will keep you from enjoying it.

It will be a gorgeous day here but a fair amt. of wind. Getting up close to 80, so short sleeve shirt day for sure. My flag on my deck is really "waving". I plan to continue on with work in my bedroom and changing closet etc. to almost all wintertime clothing. I leave a couple of summer pieces for weather just like this. Also, will likely take my tour through Goodwill. Sundays are good days. If there were a lot of yard sales around town, the items that did not sell will end up there.
Hope anyone sports minded enjoys the games today. Fall always seems the perfect time for sports to me for some odd reason. I don't indulge in sports so that is why I do see it as a strange thought for me. I loved and still do a bit, the St. Louis Cardinals since that is our local team and at one time loved ice hockey, but not so much for any of it now. If you once become dis-inclined, it is easy to lose track of all of it.
Blessings to all.

Maverick - I agree with your philosophy. I endured AIs for 3.5 years with side effect after side effect and 3 wrist surgeries. My oncologist gave me a 2 month break and I never went back. He could tell when he walked into the exam room that I was done. I finally made peace with if it comes back while on the AIs I would matter than you know what and if it comes back since stopping I know that I've done everything in my power to treat my BC. That was 2010, so I've had 12.5 with a better quality of life. Granted I have many other things to deal with, but so far not lige threatening. Doctors said not from BC/chemo/AIs but I beg to differ. Wishing you an continued recovery
Quite windy out today - cold front is moving in. Yesterday was a beautiful fall day so a couple nice long walks and reading outside. Today is an inside day. I think I'll do some work for work.
Have a great Sunday

We’ve had several days of cool mornings with highs in the 60s. Enjoying this weather. Still no freeze where we live, since we sit a little higher elevation, but there have been freeze warnings several mornings last week.
I’ve been reviewing Medicare plan options and will stay with my current medical and drug plan that I have from last year. I’ve been inundated with emails and snail mail from health care companies. Find it easier to use the Medicare site, although it’s a bit cumbersome.
Was glad the Phillies won today, although wish my NATs had a better season. I’ve always liked Dusty Baker as a manager, but don’t like the Astros ever since the cheating scandal. So I guess I’ll root for the Phillies, regardless of who they play.
Hope everyone is doing well.Enjoy the rest of your day.

Phillies won and my partner is in his glory! I’m a Yankee fan, not diehard, based on my mothers love for them. They were always on in my house growing up, even if that meant on the radio.
I met with some gf’s for lunch today and we had a good time catching up. Weather was pretty good although not as sunny as yesterday. When I got home I was able to put away the items from the deck, two chairs and a small table. I also rearranged the garage - pushing those fence panels I never got around to, to the back of the garage. And pushing the giant box with the screen house in it to the back as well. Trying to sell or give away a stationary bike and step machine, all to make room for his car to park in the garage while we’re in Florida. I could stuff them to the back of the garage if necessary but would prefer them gone. My garage is a detached 1 car, with an addition with a shed roof, it’s longer than the actual garage. Its FULL. Pool items including filter, pump and chemicals; patio, deck & screen house furniture; yard nick knacks, potting bench, ladders, you get the drift. FULL!
Yankee game is starting, it’s 90 minutes late. I’m going to shower and get my jammies on to watch.

Often think about "roads not taken" but wouldn't want to back.
MM - I'm not excusing your BS but it may be that insurance wasn't allowing profolatic bilateral. Usted to make my surgeon DH so mad. He always supported the concept but often hit a brick wall as for as the insurance companies were concerned. I don't now when that policy changed, but I sure think doing bilateral at the patient request would save lots of anxiety and disease for the patient and money for the insurance company.
I too stopped AI's at 3 years. Definitely a QOL decision that I don't regret. Still have pain in the knee three years after surgery and I have always felt the AI's contributed to it's not healing right. Orthopedic surgeon agreed but didn't check my medication list carefully enough to know that I was taking them.
Sounds as if several of you have gorgeous yards. My Dad was a Master Gardener and my sister got his green thumb. Gardening isn't in my skill set however but love hearing about all the plants and vegetables grown.
Very excited about our trip to DD in Maine although the weather looks miserable and we have definitely missed the trees. Timing of the trip was determined by when we could all get our boosters and when we could get a dog sitter.

taco, you could be right about my BS and bilateral. I have a Medicare Advantage plan via my husband's retirement benefits. If that was so, and it had to do with insurance, I wish he would have said that. It wouldn't have been the first time I was denied something by the insurance company. Oh well, water over the dam.
That said, late last night I went to walk across our living room and my slipper caught the side of our area rug and I went down, right on my stomach and chest! Worst part was I couldn't get up which made me cry, and the more upset I got, the more I tried to get up and the more I found I couldn't do that! My poor husband did what he could and even offered me his arm to which I said NO!!!! He is 81 and uses a cane, I am in my late 60's, I didn't need both of us on the ground. Somehow, with two replaced shoulders and having had a mastectomy with expander less than two weeks prior, I was able to get myself up. Our neighbor is an EMT and she came over and checked me. I think I am fine, I was just shaken up. The only sign of a fall is a tiny black and blue mark on my left wrist and a slightly black and blue mark on my left hand. I will definitely be a lot more careful walking around the house! I called my plastic surgeon's office this morning just to let him know of the fall, but I have an early morning appointment tomorrow anyway, and I am sure I will be fine until then.
On the upside, my step son came over for a visit yesterday and brought his dog, the sweetest dog ever! So I had a "puppy fix" yesterday on top of a huge Phillies WIN! Whoohoo!
Have a great day everyone!

Sorry about your fall, MM. Good that you seem basically unharmed by it.
DH and I have Medicare and BC/BS Basic Federal. Every year during this enrollment period, we question whether we should pay as much as we do or go with one of the Medicare Advantage plans. So far we stick with what we have because there is never a copay or a problem with the approval of doctors and care. I guess it's just easier to stick with the status quo.
Taco, I hope you enjoy your trip to Maine. It would have been wonderful to see the beautiful fall leaves. I love the New England states. They have a special charm. We spent a winter in Vermont the first year of our marriage and worked at a small ski lodge. It was my first experience with living with snow.
Wishing everyone a good Monday.

And today's general quotation:
Whoever you are, there is some younger person who thinks you are perfect. There is some work that will never be done if you don't do it. There is someone who would miss you if you are gone. There is a good reason for becoming better than you are. There is a place that you alone can fill. -unattributed0 -
Maverick, sure glad you seem not much worse for wear after your fall. Been there, done that likely covers this incident for a lot of us. You are right -- an event like you had, has the upside of vowing to be more in tune with where we are walking and what we are doing. Hope all stays well for you.
Going to be lovely here today. Close to 80 again. A little breeze but likely not as much today.
Last night SIL and Dh hopefully got rid of a yellowjacket nest. Was right outside our Screen room door. So, had to do something. Dh digs a bit after dark, pours some kerosene in the hole and lights it on fire. Usually enough to rid us of the pests. I was concerned about all the leaves, etc., but a trusty rake cleared the area before the liquid was put into the hole. Hope it was a success.
Having definite seasons is great. I missed the seasons (though there was milder ones) when we lived all those yrs. in California. My preference is being where they are much more definite. Have no idea what we will have this yr. since lately every yr. the prediction is for a really harsh winter. That seems to have only resulted in a rainy season at an odd time -- not really anything harsh.
Nothing special today. Pay bills mainly or get started with them. May do a health fair at our local hospital. It is free and that is always a good price. Just don't know if I want to give up the time.
Hope you all have a good day.

Great quote for today. Makes you take notice of self which is not always a bad thing.
Rainy weather for next 3 days though not steady, just showers off and on. So will focus on inside projects which tend to get neglected when I focus on garden. Somehow changes I make in garden are evident, not so much for those in house. Planting a bush versus dusting, I will opt for planting anytime.
Had small party for SIL's birthday yesterday. He was pleased with his gifts and loved his cake. Watched Phillies game which was such winning moment "Go Phillies" and then a good movie "The Best Beer Run Ever". It was nostalgic, funny and saddening all in one because it was about the Vietnam War and is a true story.
DH, DD and DSIL watched Yankee's-Astros game until 1 AM. Not me, I was long in bed because I am up with Regan by 7:30. She is crated overnight and will be until she learns there are "off limit" items in the house such as the couch. She was allowed on couch in former home so it is going to be a hard habit to break. If I don't watch, she plants herself on the couch. I'd prefer the cats not get on the couch but anyone with cats knows how that goes. She snuggled on floor with DD during the movie.
DD fixed issue with Netflix so I am back online for that to fill rainy afternoons. Hope you have an enjoyable day. Sun is now peeping out so maybe showers are over?

Sorry to hear about your fall mavericksmom. Glad you’re doing okay and that you’re seeing your PS tomorrow.
Enjoy your trip to Maine taco. I hope you see some spectacular fall colors and enjoy your visit with your DD.
Woke up to a nice warm start. We’re in the med-60s again today. A quiet day, no appointments, so I’m trying to get some cleaning done. Hope everyone is doing well and have a wonderful Monday.

I finally got the camera set up right. It had been inside, facing the window. However, all I got was the glare of the light. So I hooked it up outside, had to bring it inside still plugged in and lay it down by the router, but it finally connected and is now outside.
I think it stormed all night, because Tippy did not sleep and was barking maybe every fifteen minutes. I finally got the remote, and he barked rather quietly and short duration, but then I was all revved. I had been saving some THC/CBN/CBD caramels for such an occasion and ended up taking half of one. Fitbit says I did not sleep, but I know I slept a little bit. He needs earplugs on stormy nights. I have the dehumidifier running.
I signed up for a health program through my insurance, everyone else seems to be WW long-timers wanting to try something new. I really need to get more routine in my life. I haven't counted calories since I was eighteen but I do need to lose 20 pounds. Weighing in is easy to add to my routine.
