Chisandy, my BS told me that too when I saw him last week. I appreciate the information. I feel like I can’t even think straight sometimes and I thought it could have metastasized to the other breast. I was wrong. Three times with breast cancer definitely did not make me an expert on it! Having breast cancer a third time is like having it for the first time….three times! Each time I had it was a new cancer, and the treatment plans were very different.

Keywestfan, wishing you well going back on AI. I have such mixed feelings on AI’s. I will be having a conversation with my MO about them this week. I am actually more concerned about getting a different cancer somewhere else in my body than I am of developing metastasis from my second cancer, ILC. There is almost no chance of spread from my current Dx due to early detection! I stopped taking AIs and don’t think I will change my mind, but I will listen to my MO’s advice.

Beautiful day here! Great day for sports! Looking forward to game 2 of World Series tonight!

    Enjoy the weekend everyone!

Good to hear from everyone and very much Keywest. Even knowing you are likely busy in recovering and pt. and other associated endeavors it still is worrisome until we hear your voice, or I should say, read a personal note. Al's are sometimes the pits, but as I likely mentioned before I had no trouble in the beginning. Didn't even know I was taking anything ---- the had to switch to generic and went thru a month of weirdness trying to get used to the carrier meds on anastrozole. About three months before I stopped, early I discovered that I would get livid over almost nothing and that item alone made me put the pill so on the shelf and not take anymore. Sadly, my temper got a good hold going before I realized that it must be THOSE pills.

I wish all of you well in making decisions whether to start an AL or whether to keep going on them. If I had to make the choice today, knowing how things were for me on them I'm not at all sure what I'd do, although I would take in account my age which is 77.

I haven't heard anything as yet about my community appt. I hope maybe Monday. I was to see the colonoscopy Dr. Monday afternoon, but he has to cancel which is ok with me. I'll re-make that appt.

In the meantime, I'm elbow deep in defrosting my pantry freezer. I've decided to let SIL's son, and his wife use it, but I do have to thoroughly clean it. Also have a lot of usable goods from the pantry to send over with the clean freezer. It will be nice to have the extra pantry room. I have plans for the space and I'm hoping it all works out as well as the "idea" makes it feel without being able to totally "see" it until it is done. Hopefully there will be enough room for some adjustments if needed.

I think my sight issue was perhaps ocular migraine which I've had in the past -- likely I'm letting myself get stressed. I'll have to do count to 10 deep breathing or something and try to hang on till I get my appts. managed.

Hope you all have a fine day.

Jackie, I really hope you hear from someone about your issues, tomorrow! I am so sorry you still haven't heard from anyone about your community appointment! As for your colonoscopy appointment, that is one appointment I would never mind having to have to reschedule!

Nice of you to let your SIL's son use your freezer! It is just my husband and I, but I don't know how anyone survives without a freezer? Refrigerator freezers never have enough room! We always had an upright freezer. My husband had one when we met. It lasted over 40 years but I was getting nervous that it would "die" and I like to be on top of things, so we bought a smaller upright freezer in the fall of 2019. Thank goodness as freezers and most other appliances have been hard to come by since the pandemic started in 2020! We buy in bulk, meats, veggies, etc. As long as we rotate the inventory, it works well for us.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend! It is sunny here and feels oh so good, outside!

We're all assigned a piece of garden, a corner of the universe that is ours to transform. Our corner of the universe is our own life--our relationships, our homes, our work, our current circumstances-- exactly as they are. Every situation we find ourselves in is an opportunity, perfectly planned by the Holy Spirit, to teach love instead of fear.

I'm here late. Had a busy day. Had breakfast and then went out to see if we could find a shelf to put the pantry -- where we use to have the freezer. Started at Goodwill, tried Big Lots and found a couple that were maybe okay, but we decided to look at Walmart and if nothing yet, go to Lowe's today or tomorrow. We have built in shelves which are a nice size on two walls. We could build in another, but I wanted something easy to take out and use elsewhere in case I wanted to make more changes later on. I'm thinking Lowes is likely the best for metal shelving units.

Came home and worked in the screen room most of the afternoon, then cleaned the kitchen after having a bite to eat. Tired but happy over-all.

Hoping to pay a coule more bills and get some appts. made tomorrow. We had rain overnight and it looks to be off and on a rainy week with cooler temps.

We finally had a delightful rain on Saturday. It was wonderful to look out and see the rain falling. The first since we arrived home in early October. October and November are usually dry months in south Louisiana.

Jackie, I gave away my small chest freezer some years ago and freed up space in my laundry room. I bought it back in the days I had a large vegetable garden. I found it led to over buying meat that was on sale and also encouraged freezing cooked food that I forgot about and eventually threw away. Now I like to go to a supermarket every few days and buy for meals for several days.

Yesterday I went for a walk and enjoyed seeing the Halloween decorations in a nearby subdivision with families. I saw at least four of those gigantic skeletons that sold/sell for about $300. Amazing what people will pay for decorations. Then they have to store them.

    Happy Monday.

LOL about the Halloween Decorations! Our neighbors a few houses up the street, have two of those gigantic skeletons! I didn't know the cost, but my husband and I wondered about storage. They apparently don't have enough room, because they leave one skeleton up all year, putting a Santa hat on it for Christmas, Bunny ears for Easter, etc. I am kind of glad they are on the same side of the street as we are and we don't face them to see it directly on a daily basis. One good thing about homeowner associations, which we clearly do not have. They are very nice people, and the neighborhood kids love it, so it could be worse!

I agree about freezer waste. Since we bought a smaller upright freezer, we have rarely thrown anything away. It is just easier to categorize and rotate food. We label it all with date. Our refrigerator freezer is the one where we tend to forget about open bags of veggies. We have a bottom drawer refrigerator freezer. I don't like to waste food, but it happens sometimes.

Very foggy this morning. I bought my husband 4 pr of long underwear for the winter. When they arrived, he didn't like them, so we returned them to the UPS store this morning. Those were via Amazon, so I ordered a different style from JCPenneys. I hope these are more to his liking. If he doesn't keep his legs warm, he gets cramps, even in his thighs!

I also bought some lottery tickets, but not the Powerball. I am probably one of very few people who do NOT want to be a billionaire! I don't spend much on the lottery, nor do I play often, but there is one game that I usually win enough to at least play for a long stretch without adding additional money to it.

Illinoislady, I really liked your quote today!

A brief update before I get to work. Had horrible sleep the past couple of nights. Last night I slept more than nine hours. Tippy was regularly alerting me that someone was walking past the apartment. My neighbor texted me, very polite about it. I can't find his bark collar. But I closed the bedroom door, and he was less vigilant-- or the traffic stopped. I don't know.

Didn't get to the gym in enough time for the class. I am settling on 20 minutes on recumbent, 10 minutes on the elliptical, and 30 minutes on the recumbent for days when there is no class or I miss.

I just ordered four saris from my allocation for next month. Someone went out of the business of making wrap skirts from saris, I think they bought her stock and are they are having a big sale. Two are coming form Australia, two from Florida.

If those are the worst of my woes, I am in good shape. Sorry not taking the time to comment on your posts.

Likely to be a gray day out. It is coolish, but not cold. I got the majority of my chores done and we will go to Lowes in a bit. Likely I will stop into the Walmart there which is right across the street (same street using a different driveway in) and look for my favorite creamer which right now is Kahlua. Ran out this morning. I am weaning off the freebies (iced coffee or French vanilla latte hot coffee) from where daughter Kate works at Circle K. I'm trying to find out if they use any high fructose sweeteners in it. I don't think it is too salty, although it is possible but I've been really watchful all along about high fructose in foods and drinks.

MC, just wow !!! Sounds like a lot of exercise to me although I don't do anything much anymore that is formal. I should mind you, but I've been lazy aside of getting a lot of steps in per day. This will be another of those.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting something for the pantry as I need to un-clutter the cabinet where my cooking pans are. I have a lid caddy (big one) and I likely will move that up to the first cabinet shelf and move all the stock pots and half stock sized pans to the bottom. All the saucepans and frypans to go on the new shelf. My kitchen cabinet is a corner cabinet and has never lent itself well for the pans. It is not the kind with the revolving trays which would help although fact is I have so many it would make it too heavy any way.

Have to fill my tank before we go as well. It is almost a half. Our gas is about $3.88 a gallon here. Seems like it is trying to come down, but it is a slow process for sure.

Hope you all have a good day.

Doing 5th bowel prep (ugh) in 3 years for colonoscopy tomorrow. I am hoping that this will be the end of this cycle because they keep changing the preps and the new fluids are awful. Not a fan of Smartwater or Propel. Was in the hospital last year for Halloween recovering from bowel surgery and now this one is another GI issue. Am the first tomorrow morning so that's nice and my GI doc is retiring in December so this is the last I will be treated by her. She has been great over the past 20 years and I will miss her. DSIL gave me some candy I can eat tomorrow. This clear liquid diet is hard on my system and I want to resign from the frequent flyers club for colonoscopies tomorrow.

Regan is at the vets since she was spayed this morning and will be coming home later this afternoon. She was supposed to start obedience classes next week but the vet put the kibosh on that. So we'll miss the first class and hope we can catch up. Glad that she has been spayed because she can now be taken for walks on local paths once she has recovered. Was afraid to take her until she was UTD on vaccines and spayed.

Tree guys are coming tomorrow with a huge crane to remove the 2 ashes and 2 tulip poplars in the backyard. Think it will take more than one day based on how long it took to remove ash from lawn. These are even larger and in less accessible places in yard. Easiest will be the tulip poplars since they are closer to driveway. However, they are the tallest. The one ash has the largest girth though while the other one is the thinnest but still large. Hopefully they will be able to minimize damage to bushes and trees beneath them.

Sort of overcast today and in the 60's but damp so it doesn't feel warm. Leaves on the trees are so pretty due to the different hues. Have a good day.

Where to start. I have had 3 big dogs and 2 little ones. The big dogs were Shepherds or a mix. One had papers and he was a bit crazy. If I had hair curlers in my hair, he would try to attack. We had to rehome him to some people with a farm and a lot of land. The other two were good dogs, but one bit a kid who beat him over the head with a flashlight. The father sued even though the kid was on our property and attacked the dog. Kid good. Dog bad. The two little dogs were good and never any problems. One died young and the other at about 14 or 15. He was a rescue, so I do not know his exact age.

Colonoscopies. I am glad I am on the 10 year cycle. Last time the me the doctor said in 10 years, if ever.

I worry about the cancer showing up somewhere else. Both grandmothers died from BC. My maternal grandmother died from complications from the treatment. I think it was snake venom back then. The other grandmother died when it reached her liver.

    Keywest, good tohear from you

The weather is warm and I still need to run some errands. Hope everyone has a pleasant day.

Finally catching up on the posts. Illinois - hope you get setup for your appointment today. McBaker - sorry you’re not sleeping well. Glad you’re able to keep up with the exercise. Betrayal- best of luck with the colonoscopy tomorrow and with the prep today. I had one while I was doing my targeted treatment. Guess I’m on the 5 year cycle. We use to have a small freezer that we bought from Montgomery Wards. It conveyed with our house when we sold it. We have a refrigerator with a small freezer on top in the garage and a side by side refrigerator/freezer that seems to be enough for us.

Picked up my hearing aids yesterday. They’re comfortable and it’s nice not to have the popping sound that my old HA were making. Still lots of materials to read. I go back in two weeks for a checkin.

Busy today with making spaghetti squash and cleaning. Then DH and I took a walk. It had been raining most of the morning and looked like it stopped. Started up pretty good about halfway through our walk. Glad I had a raincoat, but my lower pant legs were soaked. We expects rain off and on the rest of today. Doubt it’ll deter the kids out for Halloween.

    Happy Halloween!

Reading posts late so I'll be back in the morning but just wanted to say this time of year always makes me a little nervous. Trick or Treaters have at times been really casual about NOT staying on a sidewalk or far edge of the road and I worry a lot this time of yr. if I have to go out for anything. Here's hoping all stay safe and well and enjoy Halloween and that they don't eat too much candy at one time.

Powerball - I had 2 tickets, one had the Powerball number and one other. I won $4, actually got my investment back and purchased 2 more tickets.

Ran around today, picked up new cushions for wood kitchen chairs. And ended up on my hands and knees scrubbing the chairs down before putting on the new cushions. Also grabbed foaming glass cleaner. We both had cleaned our car windows and they were still a mess. The foam worked great but it came with warnings of not breathing it in. I kept the windows & doors opened and survived. We now have sparkling clean car windows. It was in the mid 60’s full sun most of the day.

I’m picking up my sister for lunch tomorrow. We have a concert at 8 pm, which my Philly fan partner would prefer to skip but I only bought the tickets because he wanted to go. Might see if I can resell them if he’s wishy-washy. Tonight’s Philly game was postponed until tomorrow.

Illinois you were talking about pots & pans, I’m sick of mine. Actually 2 sets, where you only use your favorite ones again & again. So tonight I saw a sale at Macy’s and placed an order for a Calphalon set. My treat to me, even if I’m leaving in 9 days. I’ll come back in May to all new ones.

Halloween and we haven’t seen too many kids. But you know I picked at half dozen different little chocolates. And of course little pieces broke off and I ended up w chocolate melted all over my clean jeans. Hahah! Never fails. I’m obviously not a good chocolate thief

We had only about 500 trick-or-treaters this year (or at least when I went inside when the candy supply was dwindling and after 4 hrs. standing on the porch I got hungry for dinner). Went through only 10 lbs. of candy--down to the Tootsie Pops Minis, Lindor milk chocolate truffles and Ghirardelli milk chocolate "caramel apple" squares, and an unopened bag of Dove dark "pumpkins." I think I'm safe with the milk chocolates and the pops, as I don't like them--and so long as I don't cut open the bag of Doves I'll be okay. I've finally figured out that it's sugar eaten relatively late at night that is causing my right leg cramps--both shin & calf--always between 4-5 hrs. after falling asleep

Jackie, hope you get some answers soon. Mary, I'm in awe of your ability to exercise and your ingenuity with fabric. Judy, hang in there.

I gave Tippy a slice of ham last night. I forgot about salt intake, and he did not want to eat his "night snack" which contains an antihistamine. So he woke me up multiple times during the night scratching himself. He ate it this morning, so he will be a sleepy little boy today. Which is all good.

We have an appointment with the groomer, so I worked hard at the home haircut, and she will do face, feet and fanny for less. He also had a bath. My friend called yesterday to remind me.

Sandy 500!! When I first moved here, I got ready and left my porch light on, and no one showed up. So I gave up on it. We have a park on one side, Masonic Hall on the other side, and American legion on the other. There are a few homes that had fire-rings going or were otherwise sitting outside. One neighbor promised dog treats next year.

Cindy, that was quite a sequence of work you did.

I got a set of pots and pans at the parish rummage sale this year for $10. They have larger bottoms to take advantage of all the coils of the burners, no wasting heat. Tossed most of the rest, except for the very largest ones for canning and big scrubbing jobs.

I got test results back on the blood test for cancer markers. Everything was within normal limits. Will be having Zoom talk with MO later this week.

I sent my writing project to various people, the need to sew was building in me, so I had to let go of the current draft.

Sandy, 500 WOW. That is a lot of candy. My neighborhood has changed and there were kids everywhere. It was very organized with multiple hayrides and truck loads of kids going to houses on a mapped route with who was giving out candy. We went out for hamburgers and didn't get too many, plus we didn't sign up to be on the route. DH is eating the left over candy.

Ah, the great part of left-over candy is choosing something you like so you can enjoy the leftovers. I can't imagine having even a hundred kids. Since we are not only out in the country, but on a very small lane as well, we don't get trick or treaters. Really good for me this year since I would have to look for un-salted treats.

Glad all of you sound pretty well and pretty much getting highly tolerable test results. Hope it keeps on that track.

I've got one appt. made. Now have to work on two others. On the 9th. I will see the gastro doc to get my results from my colonoscopy a month ago. I'm betting it is not an issue at all as I think I would have not been given such a long wait otherwise. Still having to try and figure out what gives with Community Care. Things keep getting changed and it seems like even a minor change is enough to throw things off rather seriously. I'll keep going.

Got my shelf built, and Dh is working on the other. They will sit one atop the other. I've taken all my pans out of the kitchen corner cupboard and they are scattered all over the kitchen. Some will go to Goodwill, and I will likely keep the lid holder (a big one) on the first shelf and the big pots below with most used in front. The small pots and all the skillets will go on the new shelfs.

Any extra room will hold a couple of baskets for bulk onions, and potatoes. I'm excited to get things in place. I've cleaned a majority of the house, got the shelf emptied and cleaned, got the screen room re-cleaned, and swept all the leaves off the deck. The rest of the day will likely be almost as busy as the morning has been.

Hope you are all going to have a really good day.

Jackie: I am impressed with what you are accomplishing in your pantry. Baskets for the onions and potatoes sound good as long as they have a big separation between them. The onions exude a gas that makes potatoes go bad. I keep mine in wire baskets but on opposite sides of the pantry and separated by another wire basket. Not a fan of onions except as an accent to foods so seldom have more than one or two in the house. It's not that I don't like them, they don't like me and there is a limit to how much GI distress I am willing to experience.

Colonoscopy is over and I was the first patient so in and out quickly. Home before 9 AM. No new polyps so I am now on a 2 year cycle for repeat colonoscopies and this will be with the new GI doc since mine retires 12/1. I have been with her for over 20 years so it's like losing a friend. Glad the nasty prep is over and looking forward to a 2 year reprieve. Sleepy so I plan on taking it easy.

Regan has cone of shame so she needs to take it easy as well. She has a return visit in 10 days and has to wear it until then. I do take if off so she can eat and get a drink, while walking outside so she can sniff to her heart's content and while supervised indoors. She has pain meds so they are making her sleepy as well. She doesn't like it but doesn't fight me when I have to reapply it.

Early to be tonight since last night I only got 2 hours of sleep total. Sun finally came out after gray, drizzly morning and it is in the high 60's so pleasant. Tree guys were no show due to rain and leaves on our steep driveway being an issue for getting the crane to the top. So they will reschedule. Go Phillies!

Yea, Betrayal -- good to hear you can now go two yrs. before another colon prep. Life can be pretty good. I agree, losing your GI doctor after 20 yrs. wouldn't feel too good but everyone gets to retire. Hopefully, things will continue to go well with the new Dr. and all will work out. Glad to hear you and Regan as well will get some rest today.

Glad to announce my pantry is looking good and I hope the organization will have been enough to hold clutter down. Trouble has been not everyone using the kitchen puts things away properly so pan cupboard/cabinet continued to be rotten and that carried over to the pantry where my cleaning and organizing just didn't last long before things started being tossed haphazardly. That is what precipitated getting rid of the small up-right freezer (which needed to be defrosted once a yr.) and finding shelves for the pans I use all the time -- which were in that corner cabinet all mixed up -- sauce pans, skillets, sm. and lg. of each as well as stock pots etc. Then lids not being returned to the proper place in the lid caddy. You can imagine the mess. All looks great now.

I checked where my onions and potatoes were and had to do some re-arranging there. Hopefully all will be fine.

Tomorrow, I go to Marion and see the new Cardiologist. I will be glad to get that done. I hope I am able to feel as safe, secure and satisfied with the new Dr. as I've felt with Dr. Ruben. I'm sure I will miss her. I think we made a good team.

I was able to get my Community Care issue handled today. I have an appt. Monday the 7th. Not too bad a wait. I had visions of its been much longer and was all set in case I felt some depression over a long wait, since it seems to have taken so long in the first place. I have re-ordered all my drugs I take, and I also have my apt.. to get my colonoscopy results. The only thing left would be the pesky pulmonologist apt. Hopefully I will be able to get that soon. I also will I think see my PCP later on this month as well -- so I think I'm getting some control in finally. I was truly feeling like somehow, I wasn't managing well, but I feel like I'm getting there at last. I think as I get a bit stronger I'm feeling more positive.

Good morning. It is overcast and muggy today. Not the most pleasant for my walk, but I will suffer through it. I need to do a pedi/mani today and maybe do some purging of the junk that I don't need and haven't looked at for years. DH wants to do a local wander and maybe a late lunch.

Betrayal I am glad that is behind you.

We’ve have very nice weather for late fall. Today was sunny in the morning and 60s. We had rain most of Halloween, a slight stoppage after dinner until about 8:30. We had about 50 kids, about half the normal number. Too much leftover candy.

Busy with cleaning the last couple of days. I have some routines I do the beginning of each month in addition the my normal cleaning.

Going over to DD tomorrow. My brother and SIL haven't met my granddaughter yet, so we’re meeting at DD for lunch tomorrow.

    Go Phillies

Surprisingly Regan is not the least bit interested in her incision so while supervised she is not wearing cone of shame. She does get it reapplied when she can't be monitored and overnight when she is crated. Unlike Mary Poppins "a spoonful of cream cheese makes the medicine go down" so getting pain meds in her is easy.

So glad the Phillies had a shutout last night over the Astros and hope they can do as well tonight. Watched until the end of the game and then off to bed for the first good night of sleep this week. Tree guys made new appointment for 11/15 so hopefully weather will cooperate. Neighbor had his trees taken down and it looked to be at least 10 very large trees and for the past 3 days all you heard were chain saws and thuds as the logs were dropped into trucks. The ground shook and we are a good distance from them but could feel the ground shakes while in the house. Looks like they are taking the last of the logs today. Wondering if they were ashes as well since this entire area is being denuded by the emerald ash borer damage.

Jackie, good luck with the new cardiologist and hopefully your relationship is the same as with the doctor you trusted. While I realize everyone has a right to retire, when I first saw my GI doc I never expected to still be under her care when she did reach that age and time. However, I am thankful for the diligent care she has rendered over 20 plus years. I just dread having to work on a new physician relationship. Getting more selective as I age as to who I want caring for me since I want a collaborative relationship and not a dictatorial physician. Have that with the current GI, my PCP and my MO so now I have to start over for GI.

Worked on enclosing new azalea bed with poles and chicken wire to keep the deer out. I have never had to trim my azaleas because they do such a good job in keeping their size under control but sometimes they trim too much. We got one side done and the poles are in for the second side but getting the chicken wire to not curl on itself takes unrolling and then rerolling in opposite direction to flatten it. So it is a bit of work. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice so maybe we can finish it.

Spoke to my BFF who lost her husband 7 months ago. She took care of him for over 5 1/2 years while he declined from Lewy-Body dementia and Parkinson's. He was a large man and she took care of him at home for this duration with only minimal support. She's an angel in my eyes because it wasn't easy and it was very demanding to be on call 24/7 for that time. Her DB's wife developed early onset Alzheimer's and he took care of her at home for 12 years. He had help while he worked and as she became more bedridden, he retired to care for her. He even continued to have someone come in to do mani-pedis and then taught himself because it had been important to her. As she became less mobile her direct family cut her off and no longer offered to assist him which was sad. She is slowly making the adjustment and getting back into activities that interest her. She's the sister I never had so I try to be there for her when she needs to vent or reminisce.

Hope everyone had a good day today and an even better one tomorrow.

New doctor criteria for me is: I want them young, so they’ll outlive me. My first cardiologist was my stepson’s age, but alas he moved to Raleigh where my stepson is. Stepson is a gastroenterologist who I bounce everything off of, then tell him his copay is in the mail.

Sunny high 60’s today. Freaky warm weather I’m loving. We walked just over 3 miles this morning. Next Wednesday we start our journey and it appears we should have decent weather while we head out.

    Go Phillies!

Another long day, but productive enough for me. Slept in a bit and didn't have a lot of time to get my coffee, breakfast, washed, brushed and dressed, as well as write down my figures (wt. and blood pressure readings for a week) before jumping in the car and heading for Marion, Illinois 73 miles south of us.

First meeting with the Cardiologist went quite well. Turns out he is actually the Director of the Clinic and does all the heart caths etc. I came away with a question for him which I decided to reserve for our next meeting. Lo and behold, that will take place at my PCP's ofc. which is only 20 miles from here. Yay and double Yay. Sounds like this is something the V.A. is going to try and see if it works well. So, I will see him again in Mt. Vernon on the 30th. as that is the last Wednesday of the month. In the meantime, he did raise my Carvedilol dosage to 12.5 mg. twice a day. up from 9.5 twice a day. Sure hope I am able to do it.

My question for him concerns the amt. of time I've been a "heart" patient. He sounded like he thought it has been a long while, but before the heart valve went bad I was NEVER referenced as being a heart patient. So, I will discuss that with him later this month. So far, it feels like this could be fine, but I will need aa couple more visits yet.

I was walking on air with the viewpoint that I could stop driving to Marion every other "heart" visit. Then dh who had gone with me stopped at the eye clinic and I find out a while later -- he made an appt. for this Friday. So, in a couple of days I will have to drive there again. Bit of an irritant.

Dh has had trouble with his eyes for years now and he went to a clinic here not a part of the V.A. They gave him the same diagnosis the V.A. gave him a couple or more yrs. ago and mostly the same treatments of eyelid washes and eyedrops for allergy-based issues. He feels the need now to re-check with the V.A. He says sometimes the treatment works and sometimes not. I think about it in sort of a pragmatic way -- if you are 83 you may have a few issues that don't always get better. Dh thinks anything can be fixed. Great thought but I guess I can get all the way into that.

Betrayal, you are a good friend. I hope your BFF finds enjoyment in having much more of a life outside of being a devoted caretaker.

Cindy, so far both of my Cardiology Dr.'s have been young, but I think this one now being head of the dept. I hope means he won't decide he needs a change of scene. Dr. Ruben is going to Ohio -- not so far away, but guess she felt she had climbed all the mts. in Marion. I thought about asking if there might be another female cardiologist but thought since I didn't know ANY of the others, I'd be starting at the same place with them no matter what.

Hope you all had a great day.

I dread the results of the midterm elections but will be glad when they're over. My email box is full of pleas for donations. It takes me several minutes to delete them. The drawback of making a small donation is having your email address added to a list that apparently is available to all candidates of your party affiliation.

Nothing planned for today except some housework and laundry chores, then chair yoga at 1 pm. Also the usual challenge of deciding "What's for dinner?"

My efforts to lose weight have stalled. I need to jumpstart those efforts again or get rid of a lot of clothes.

So far my new BP med, which I'm taking in addition to a med I've been taking for years, has not done the job. It was supposed to take 3 to 5 days to kick in but now it's time for it to do some kicking.

Glad your appointment in Marion went well, Jackie. My dh is 83, too.

Hope everyone has a good Thursday.

Instead of allowing yourself to be so unhappy, just let your love grow as God wants it to grow; seek goodness in others, love more persons more; love them more personally, more unselfishly, without thought of return. The return, never fear, will take care of itself. -Henry Drummond
