Hi all.  Just back today from the Bahamas - Atlantis, Paradise Island - great place.

Meece, I know how it is with the working and the paycheck is a nice touch!  I found I wasn't getting on here much the last few weeks also.  You just get so busy at times and the last thing you want to do when home is get on the computer.  I'm just flying by right now but logging off shortly.

Ainm, I agree that we tend to carry our children.  DS had a job and also contacts, right.  DD knows people in Seattle I take it, although our young do get adventurous just to give us heart palpitations.  I guess we have to let them grow up.  How long will she be there?

    Night all.

Hey Meece - Did you hear your president O'Bama Smile while he was in Ireland - he was speaking Irish - "Is Féidir Linn" !!

I hope all the freak weather you have been having has not caused any irreparable damage to anyone here.

DD is in Seattle - she thinks it's really friendly and pretty!!  I hope someone thinks the same of her and gives her a job!!

Ainm, how long will she be there?  Does she know people or, as our youngun's like to do, is just winging it!

Patoo - She will be in Seattle until the last week in August then she comes home via NY where she will have five days.  She travelled with a friend and they have accommodation organised with some college girls that they made contact with through some girls from Seattle who were doing a semester here in Ireland - that accommodation isn't available until 17th so at the moment they are in a hostel while they job hunt.

I have a friend living about a three hour drive from Seattle and if they run into any major problems they can contact her.

I think it's great that they get to travel and  experience other countries, food, traditions etc - I'm just jealous that I can't go too!!!

Hi Joni, good to see you here.

Not sure I want to be young again, what with the state of this world, but to be brave or childlike would be magical.  Not sure how an elderly lady frolicking about would be perceived but if I'm childlike, who cares.  Wink

Only 70's here but supposed to be up in 90's by Wed/Thurs.  After the winter we just came through, I'm not complaining.  (just coming home from the pool helps with that attitude!)

Hi JO, they tell us we should always unplug all electrical items we can when going on vacation.   They can fry from a surge, even with a surge protector sometimes.  Of course we can't do that with a fridge or freezer.

It's hotter here then it was in the Bahamas where it was in the 80's every day but no humidity.  Hmmmm, maybe I should go back and just stay.  Nope, can't afford it.

Ainm, Joni, Meece, everyone - big HI!

Me. too!  Been to Nassau years and years ago.  Last time I was there it was for about 45 minutes.  Had to get fuel on our way to Guantanamo.

Bahamas (Paradise Island) is beautiful.  I wondered the whole 5 days why anyone would leave but I finally realized that I saw the "good" there.  If I had ventured into Nassau itself it may have been a lot different.
