I've been MIA for a few days - sorry. I will try and be more proactive to sign on and bump.
Ainm, so sorry about your BIL but glad his wife got clearance. Let's pray that the docs are wrong and he pulls through because she's at his bedside!
Meece, YAY!!!! Glad you got the job. Even with fewer people the stresses can still rear up and get ugly. If it happens just remember that I said - in 25 years it won't matter one whit so I won't let it get to me. Then just smile, turn around and go on your way. Humility and silence works every time.
Night Ainm. It's only early afternoon for Meece.0 -
Quick fly-by to say HI!

Yeah Meece - do you like it? Tell them we will share you with them but they must treat you well or they will have to answer to me!!
Mid morning here - so don't tuck me in just yet!!

Nighty night Ainm!
BIG bump for the rest of us!

He everyone. Quick pass through.
Meece, how's the job going?0 -
Hi all, Ainm, keeping your BIL, and all the family, in prayer. Let us know how you are doing.
Hi to everyone else.

Meece - First week down - hope it all went well.
Patoo - BIL has stabilized but has suffered severe irreversible brain damage. We have to try to source a care facility for him. The drs say that although he isn't in imminent danger it is unlikely that he will live long. They cannot rule out another stroke or seizure which could kill him. At least his wife is with him - she is incredible, she stays with him most of the day and feeds him, walks him and tries to get him to communicate - and it is so difficult. She had a meeting with the dr last Wednesday so I took her place for 90 mins - it was exhausting!! And I think I have a tough job with my mum - there's no comparison.
Night Jo & Eph!!

sad, sad, sad Ainm. My dad's Alzheimer's has progressively been getting worse - life doesn't seem to cut any breaks most of the time!

Sending strengthening HUGS to get you through these challenges. It's not easy to watch our parents go through those difficult times.

First week went well except Thursday when I felt so incompetent! Got my self confidence back Friday and look forward to tomorrow.
You are such a trooper, Ainm. (((hugs)))) as you deal with everything on your plate.

Meece, that's not unusual. Five years ago when I started my job I also felt incompetent (and it was for much longer than a day!). Didn't think I would ever remember the things I needed to know. The young lady teachimg me knew so much and I was hired at a level and salary significantly higher than her. Now, I'm the star and my team comes to me, even my manager and her boss, when they need instructions. So, it gets better.
Home today - first time I didn't make it to church and probably 15 years - because allergies are killing me. Allergy meds just not up to par today and I am miserable but still want to go take a walk.
Hope everyone is enjoying.

Made it through the day; miserable but could be worse, right!
Night all.

Sleep well everyone! That devil Osama Bin Laden is dining with Satan tonight!

True, Jo, but it definitely was a morale booster.
Yes, I have several friends with children in the service in Afghanistan as we speak so prayer is greatly needed.

Big day tomorrow - taking Mum to the care facility before I head off to hospital on Wednesday!! Feeling quite nervous about both events. Hope I sleep tonight.
Take care all!!

So surgery is on Wednesday, Ainm? I will be praying for you and peace in both situations.
DS is home from Afghanistan two days earlier than planned. I am so glad to have him back on American soil.

I missed church yesterday due to allergies, aswell. I am so tired of my throat, eyes and ears itching, and my nose running.

Well the care home seemed nice enough and Mum seemed happy enough to stay there - the staff were very welcoming and friendly and they haven't contacted me yet!!! So I hope that is a good sign.
Meece - Surgery on Thursday morning. It's good that your DS is home. My DD has an appointment at the American Embassy tomorrow for her summer visa to the US - she is going to Seattle, Washington on 1st June. There is no comparrison to the situation your DS experienced but I'll still be counting the days until she is home again even though she is just doing it for the travel experience.
B-I-L very agitated tonight - it failed us to settle him and the hospital have a staff member sitting next to his bed all the time now - to keep him from hurting himself. I can see why they want us to move him but who will take such a high dependent patient.
Hope the allergies clear up soon Patoo & Meece and Jo watch your back - literally! Be kind to yourselves - you deserve it.
I probably won't have internet access after tonight for about a week or so - dr said I'll be in hospital between 7 and 10 days so I hope all is well for you all for the next little while and hopefully I'll be reporting on a job well done next time I log on!!

Check in just before you go if you can, Ainm. I will keep you in my prayers for a speedy recovery.

Ainm, thinking about you. So happy you have peace ab out your mom being in good hands. Try not to worry about your BIL as worrying will not change anything one iota for him but may affect your recovery. Looking forward to your good report when you come back on.
Hey JO - missing you. Thought you go over running into ironing boards! Agree we can't be too complacent about terrorists. bin laden was just one of many still out there but relieved he's no longer a contender.
Meece, glad DS came home. Thank him for us for his service.

PTL your son is back here Meece. When is Baby-boo expected?

Well all settled in hospital - fasting from midnight and surgery in the morning, I've been given a shot to help prevent clotting and a pair of those oh so fashionable stockings!!. It's a really quaint hospital - I've never been here before. I wonder how differently things are done here in comparrison to the US - I know I've always had excellent care but imagine there must be differences even if only in admin. Got my broadband working here too which is a plus!!
Well here goes........
