Good morning theresa and squid and Skip---------and omelets... Ham and cheese were Gregs alltime favorite. Greg always cooked breakfast even when we went to visit someone else. Of course , the cook of the house thought it was GREAT .....what they didn't know was Greg was particular about his eggs. ...it was funny, I kept his secret until the last few years...... then we could all laugh about it, even him, but his breakfasts were great. Good luck on the taxes-----is there a prayer for refunds? Theresa remember the movie about Patton asking the chaplain for a prayer for good weather so they could have aircover for the ground troops and the chaplain trying to deal with the "What this meant".
Squid yes did night shifts, but I'm on about 3 drugs that cause insomnia. But I think The Aromasin is kicking in like Arimidex did. So, I will have to work out a plan with the pcp. I could have taken ativan ,but it's different than it was, this has moved into a different control phase. Been there before, not going there again kind of thing . You said "thanks for the props. Props? Translation? Proposals? Writing? Yes you could be an author? You have a very artistic way with words that create a visual tapistry. You have a gift of putting the two together. As Theresa has a gift of a teacher. Squid you can do this-Plus you have immense kindness which comes through in your writing--------Go girl give it a whirl.
Kay HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!! ENJOY YOUR DINNER------- You're going to dislike me for the next statement. Eat at home , avoid all freash vegetables, avoid people for this week. You have already entered the phase of low immune status. No one told me that it's really the 2nd week that things can go to a problem phase. All others here can offer chemo adjustment thoughts. AND everyones body handles chemo differently. I have the experience of both Greg and I going through chemo. We had to learn the hard way because no one was upfront withus about it. But we got real good after a certain point. I have held back details, because of the "everyone handles it differently". Kay I just don't want you to get into trouble that could have been avoided because you weren't instructed properly. I may have been a nurse since 1974, but oncology is a super subspeciality of nursing, so when I got BC , I was effectively a layperson. I depended on others to give me the need to know, it didn't happen. Until you find out how your immune system responds to chemo you should maintain the highest standards of neutropenic precautions that you can. Namaste With best intentions sheila

For those with recent implants--Whippetmom AKA Deborah is posting most often now on Breast Implant Sizing 101-------there is no one that can compare with her knowledge. The industry should hire her to teach the doc's. She will give you the in's and out's. I SO wish I had her advice prior to my implants

Bad wireless connection - that's pretty cute Janet and so accurate for my dreams too. Yep, I think your Dad was trying to be reassuring. :-)
Kay - happy anniversary!
God bless everyone tonight. Sweet dreams.
I keep forgetting to post the website for you: http://www.cptryon.org/prayer/child/stations/index.html
Jesus falls the first timeThird Station: Look at Jesus
Jesus is so tired as he walks along the road with the heavy cross on his shoulders. The cross keeps pushing into his shoulder, and the stones on the road hurt his feet. People yell and push him; the soldiers shout for him to move faster. Then Jesus falls, and the soldiers yell at him more. How tired Jesus is! Jesus prays in his heart, "God, help me remember that you are here."
Look at Your Heart
Did you ever fall when you were playing, or when you were helping with something? Falling really hurts, doesn't it? When people make mistakes, it is like falling. And when that happens, their heart sometimes feels like it is hurt. Can you remember a time when you fell, when your heart felt hurt? As you remember that time, and look at how your heart felt, show your heart to Jesus. See Jesus loving you as you show him your heart. When you are ready, you can ask Jesus to help make your heart more like his.

I've been attending the Stations of the Cross on Fridays. Yesterday, the 8th grade put on a dramatic presentation.. very well done, with music, lights, actors. Anyway, my son drew Jesus on the program... I was so proud.

Michelle,
APPLAUSE APPLAUSE!! I hope you know how important your work is. You must be so happy
Janet...what a sweet dream, and I think our dear ones talk to us in all ways. I have "parental visitation envy...." in the nicest of ways.
Apple,
Your son's drawing is very impressive and he really has captured fear, sorrow and uncertainty in Jesus' eyes. It is good to witness his trials to know of his sacrifice, and even more so...it helps my understand that He Knows our trials.
Happy Sunday To ALL

Sisters - this brought tears to my eyes this morning... I never considered it this way:
"You must be persuaded that your sinful past is in no way an obstacle to very close
union with God. God forgives, and His forgiveness is Divine. With the Angels, God
was not merciful because they had no miseries. With us, who are full of miseries,
God is infinitely merciful."
-Blessed Columba MarmionMichelle - ... thanks! :-)
Mary - what a good sketch of our Lord! His eyes say it all. I bet you're *very* proud of your son!!

Happy Sunday to you all!
Kay, a belated happy anniversary, wow 26th!!! Ours will be 23rd yr this coming October.
Janet, it's great that you have minimal discomfort, praise Lord.
Apple, your son did such a great rendering, so proud of him.
Michelle, more success on your important work.
Theresa, good luck on the job opp
Tink, I am glad that your doc is not rushing you when your body is not 100%, I would hate to see it otherwise (and there are a lot of uncaring people out there).
Sheila, Namaste - tell us more about your stories
Tori, continue to stay strong. The Lord will guide you.
Traci, continue to have smooth conditions at work
Renauses, congrats on onco score, what is the number?
All the rest, Betty, Ellie, Laura, Pat, and all others that I may have forgotten to mention, thanks for the birthday wishes!
I will be flying on the evening of March 29th, please pray for a smooth flight and other logistics for me. I will arrive at Toronto the next morning.
Theresa, did you wear the compression sleeve going through the scanner? I picked up my compression sleeve, every where fits EXCEPT the wrist that is about half an inch too big. It is their smallest size. I wonder if I should still wear it. I had to return the gaunlet because the wrist part was too big and the edge was unravelling.
Namaste!

Wow Mary - you have a little budding artist! Must get it from you! Tell him he should follow that talent not only for his own enjoyment & achievement, but also sets kids apart later when it comes to things like college applications, etc. Good for him.
Theresa - thanks for that prayer.
Me...I feel like a cat today. I do one or two things and then take another nap:) This too shall pass.
0 -
Paula - thanks! Definitely wear the sleeve. I wore the sleeve and gauntlet as my PT told me to do - an hour before the take off and an hour after I landed, so I went through security with no issues and had no swelling or problems. I flew from VA to Seattle - so it was a long flight.
Janet - you're entitled be a cat-like!! You've had surgery! I took a brief nap and didn't have surgery. The littlest things just poop me out!
We babysat yesterday and had company - you'd think I was entertaining a crowd by how tired I am today. It was just my son and his wife, and they brought over their 8 month pug ... we babysat while they ran to the mall. That little pug gave old Lucy a run for her money - Lucy was pooped today too! It's so funny to watch them play. Then we babysat the boys last night while Becky and her husband had a fire house event to attend. They were good boys.
Jesus Meets His Mother
Fourth Station: Look at Jesus
As Jesus walks slowly with the cross on his shoulders, a woman comes up to him. It's Jesus' mother, Mary. How sad for them to see each other now. Mary feels so sad because she sees how much he is suffering, and Jesus sees the sadness Mary feels. Even though they both know that God is with them, they can't even say anything to each other, because they are so sad.Look at Your Heart
Have you ever been very sad, or do you know someone who has been very sad? Being sad can really hurt someone's heart a lot, can' it? Sometimes our hearts are sad because we cannot be with someone we love.If you can remember a time when you were very sad, show Jesus what your heart looked like when you felt that way. Picture Jesus loving you when you show him your sad heart. Then, when you are ready, you can ask Jesus to help make your heart more like his.

Good Evening Ladies, My DD just gave birth to a beautifly baby girl. 7 pound even. We are very excited this is her second one. She was having her sons birthday party today, he is 3. She went into laber and had to go to the hospital just before the people came. My sister had to run the party. Praise the Lord everything is good.

What wonderful news! Congratulations Betty! I hope you'll post a picture.
Beautiful picture your son drew Apple!
Glad you're continuing to heal Janet. I think we heal better when we sleep. I think naps are good for you.
Please pray for my sister and bil. My bil is not doing well. He was very confused and was in the hospital several days last week. His brain was swollen and his sodium was low. He is having a blood test tomorrow to see if he can stay in the immuno therapy trial he was on. If he can't, there are no other treatments or things to try and the doctor recommended hospice. Please keep them and my niece (15) and nephew (17) in your prayers. It is a very hard time for them. Thanks.

Been awful quiet over here. Hope that just means everyone is having a busy week. I drove to the drug store today - yay! So good to get out of this house for a little while.
Found a Lenten calendar on americancatholic. Here is the meditation for today:
Peter asks, "...how often should I forgive? As many as seven times?" Seven, in Peter's world, was the perfect number. No one could be required to do more than that. Rather than respond with exasperation to his beloved, if grumpy, friend, Jesus uses humor to make his point. There had to be a wry smile on his face as he replied, "Not seven times, but, I tell you, seventy-seven times." Astronomical! Impossible!
But Jesus wasn't kidding....
It goes without saying that none of us will ever be able to forgive as God forgives, but Jesus' cryptic remark to Peter tells us to try, try, and try again. from Daily Reflections for Lent 2011 by Virginia Smith0 -
TInk--thanks for asking...doing okay...
Had my first boost today...I will be done with those on April 11th...can not believe treatment is almost over...I'm all weirded out about that...feeling like I'll be in this alone with nothing to fall back on is a bit disheartening...
Had to get some dressings put on my clavicle, SNB site and under my breast because it was starting to look ugly...already feeling better and the boost will not be making them any worse, so that's a good things...
Heading out of town on Thursday to check on our rental house in Colorado...praying that all will go well and the flying will not be an issue...
CONGRATS Betty! Such a blessing for you and your family!
Kay--praying for you BIL....
blessing and prayers for you all my sweet family of sisters,
Love,
Tori

Good morning ladies
Talked with my FIL this morning. He said the doc said the prostate cancer was a grdae 3 which is very good for prostate cancer...slow growing. He recommended robotic surgery at Georgetown or John hopkins, He sugessted he waited until he was done with the coumadin and he would put him on Lupron until then which would be 4 months, He is too sure how he feels about waiting and will decide after he meets with the surgeon.
Thank you for all your prayers
Thinking and praying for all my sisters today
Hugs

Hi all - yes, I've been very busy and very tired. I did get the call to come in for a face to face interview and that is tomorrow, so I'm stressing about that. I haven't been on an interview in 10 years!!! I worry about the ever present chemo fog and hope I don't sound like a dummy. I'm studying up on the company, etc. Grrr!
Maria - thanks for asking, Skip is doing just fine... except when he's behind the wheel! ;-)
Betty - congratulations!!
Kay - I'm so sorry about your BIL.
Sandy - you've been through a lot and lots of travel. Take is easy and rest and we will all be praying for you!

Theresa thats wonderful about the interview, but I understand how you feel about them. Me too!. i've fallen down on saying the rosary. But I'll get it done today. Hope Squid posts--she will come through with some words that will help.
Tink, what good news. What was he on coumadin for? Once off it , it's only a few days until clotting numbers return to normal. JH and Georgetown have such wonderful reputations. I always dreamed about working at JH. At one time in my heavy search days, I would just look first at what JH was doing.
Tori On the down hill slide. with the end in sight. Please read the wound thing . Myself and multiple others put up many good suggesstions on wound care. It was a thread started by someone asking for help. The name of it therefore is different than I would wish, but the info is solid. "Skin and capillaries look dead to surgeon". Don't forget to take extra sterile dressings and gloves on your trip. Is there any way you could make arrangements for a property manager too view the property and send pictures. You are at risk for LE. Of course , I have added to your worries, but now is the time to be realistic and straight up. Don't fly, not worth the outcome. Even with a compression sleeve you are at risk because you are at the height of inflammatory response.AND you couldn't adequately prevent breast swelling. Check out the LEthreads for advice. The "Breast lymphedema " thread has some very good people on it. Binney4 and Mira
A way to find a reputable property manager.---call the 3(or one or two) best realty companies in the town your going to, and ask for recommendations from the BROKER. Their businesses deal with property mgt.all the time. They often work directly with individual companies and will do whatever you ask--for a fee-- usually reasonable. The ulterior purpose is that if you ever go to sell the property , they hope you would then list it with them. Mortar and wood are not worth the daily struggle of LE. Sorry if I put a clinker in your plans.
