TT: Glad your picket fence was there for you. Hope you didn't injure anything.
Ruth: Have a good time at your WWW breakfast.
I went to urgent care on Sunday. Was tested for Covid and the flu as precaution - negative for both. I have a sinus infection and given an antibiotic. Started feeling better that night. Monday I was feeling weak and tired. I wanted to start walking again but didn't feel up to it. Today dd went to urgent care bc she wasn't feeling well. She's positive for Covid! I took a home Covid test this morning and the results were "you may have Covid" bc the line for a positive result was barely visible. I'm so worried about her since she's pregnant. She called her OB and they sent an approved list of medications. Right now she's only taking Tyenol.
Hope this passes soon and that dd feels better quickly. She only had a slight fever Sunday night (under 100) and her other symptoms are sore throat. I haven't had any fever and my only symptoms are congestion and being tired.
The good news is that Covid is nothing like it was 4 years ago!

Oh Geez, that is double rotten, Wonderland. Hope you both continue to have the mildest of symptoms & are back on track soon.
It looks like I will have a big crowd here tomorrow. I had to go buy more food & have 2 egg bakes ready to pop in the oven in the morning.

It is a picture perfect late summer day here. Here's the Wednesday Walking Women ready to take off from my porch & enjoying brunch in my backyard. I didn't walk, but got 6,000 steps dragging things up & down the steps etc.

Wonderful pictures Ruth…and a very large crowd of WWW knowing you would put out a spread!
Tai Chi at lunchtime.
Re my strumble on Sunday, I have road rash on my L foot and the picket fence grab bruised up my R wrist…but overall much better than actually falling on a poured aggregate patio - hard as cement, I guess because it is?
Wonderland, prayers that your daughter's covid is mild…there is a lot of covid going around but for folks who up to now have been fully vaccinated, cases have been mild.
Happy Wednesday all, TT

Wonderland, how are you & DD doing?
Two dog walks for me & a day of getting lots of things crossed off my 'to do' list.

Did a yoga class last night with a new instructor who played sound bowls the entire class instead of music. While I have taken a meditation sound bowl class before, I have not had a regular activity style class with bowls instead of music, just wow, and probably quite exhausting for the instructor.
I'll be walking walking walking from now until Sunday.
Hope your daughter is coming out of the covid symptoms.
Happy weekend all, TT

Thanks Ruth and TT. I retested this morning and I'm Negative! Unlike me, DD did not take the Covid shot bc she was trying to get pregnant. Her symptoms are improving and she thinks that tomorrow will be a turning point for her. I do hope so!
TT: I'm trying to picture your instructor leading your class and playing the sound bowls at the same time. That would be exhausting.
Ruth: Your breakfast must have been delicious. Everyone is smiling.

Wonderland, so glad you are feeling better! Hope you will soon have a good report about DD as well.
Went on a dog walk this morning, out to lunch & have been watering since I got home. We'll soon take walk #2 & stop by the nursing home to hang out with our 100 year old friend for awhile.

Hope everyone had a nice Labor Day Weekend. Mine was very low key, which is kind a nice change!

Happy Labor Day!
DD is feeling much better, thank goodness.
I've been busy yesterday and today working on dh's aunt's photos. I started creating the book online (I'm using Mixbook). I used it for my other books and find it fairly easy to use.
We've had great weather. I actually felt like walking today for a short distance. Need to get back into the routine.

Weather has been ideal lately, even a bit cool in the mornings, so just blissful.
Glad to hear DD is on the mend, so scary given she is pregnant.
Tai Chi at lunch. TT

Here's the Wednesday Women. We started & ended our walk at the Dairy Queen. As you can tell by our attire, it was chilly here this morning!

DQ = Texas truck stop
That is what a cousin who moved to TX told me…there are so many DQ's in TX.
Did you get ice cream afterward? 😀
0 -
Our DQ serves breakfast, although I was tempted to order ice cream instead! (Surprising, they also have very good coffee.) I'll do a dog walk today & go to Dance2fit tonight.

Got to the gym Thursday evening and now Friday lunch. Only 3 times this week…which isn't enough!
I did skip out on my fav Sunday night class to go to the movies with DH to see…Jaws! Back in the theaters for Labor Day Weekend 50 years later. I remember seeing it in the theater summer of 1975 with my mom and grandfather…we were living in New Hampshire then and going to the Cape that summer had a different feel to it.
Happy weekend everyone, TT

TT, a friend & I were going to California the summer JAWS came out. I did NOT see the movie because I knew I wanted to go to the beach!!! And, I have never seen it because I still want to go to the beach!! Ha1
Two dog walks today. I also need to get back to the gym!!!!

My parents moved to a lake house after I graduated from high school. I stayed up late one night to finish reading Jaws. The next day I went swimming in the lake. I was so creeped out by the book that I got out of the water as fast as I could! Even though it was a lake, I felt like Jaws was going to attack me.
My Mom and I saw it at the theater when it came out 50 years ago. We stood in the long long line to buy our tickets. My mother always fell asleep at the movies. But not Jaws! She stayed awake the whole terrifying time. It is an amazing movie with so many memorable scenes. Ruth, maybe one day you can watch it. When and if you do, follow the artistry of Spielberg. It will get you through the scary parts.
I met a friend this morning to walk. DD is feeling so much better. This evening she and sil came over for supper. She cooked half of it and my dh grilled the other half. It was a fun evening.

Zumba & dog walking. My neck is still bothering me after 2 weeks of heat/ice/stretching etc, so I finally broke down & made an appointment with my PA.
0 -
My neck is really sore after my one class; so walking only until I see my PA on Thursday. Frustrating!
0 -
Ruth: Thursday can't get here soon enough! If you need a MRI I hope you don't get the run around like dh did about his back. Please keep up posted on your appointment. I'm sorry you are in so much pain.
Walked this evening. I'm trying to get back into my routine. I did fine in July but didn't do so well in August. The cruise boat was too small for a walking trail. It had an exercise room but only had steppers which I don't like. Then my knees were too painful to walk. They are fine now and it's time to get with the program!

After a long hiatus I'm back. I needed a break. To be honest, I don't remember the last time I posted. People who see my posts on FB are probably up to date. I've skimmed a couple pages, but forgive me for not being caught up on everyone.
My youngest daughter got engaged in June and they are getting married December 31st. Her fiance is a great guy. We met him in April, then spent time in July with them. I found a mother of the bride dress - mail order. I was able to order a dress to try on at home and see how it fit. I ordered 5 dresses from 2 different companies. The I liked best in pictures did not look good on. I think my daughter found her wedding dress. It is very pretty and of course I'm biased but she will be a beautiful bride. My granddaughter will be 2 1/2 and will be the flower girl. The sisters are in the wedding (but not walk down the aisel) - 4 in all (groom has 3 younger sisters) as well as bridesmaids - not sure how many - she is hoping her BFF in America will be able to get to the wedding as well as her BFF in Israel. The mothers are wearing darker purple - my dress is grape and the sisters and bridesmaids light purple. The Dads are wearing charcoal gray suits with purple ties. Flower girl can wear whatever her mother picks.
The health challenges never seem to end. I had my DEXA scan last month and my lumber spine declined 8.8% which is considered significant. I will be staying on Prolia twice yearly. When I see my hematologist next month I will talk more with him, then my oncologist in November. I'm sure my hematologist will want me to see my endocrinologist. In June, my potassium was elevated for the second time in 6 months so now I'm supposed to be on a low potassium diet. Most fruits and veggies that I love are no-no's. Now nephrologist is doing labs every 4 months. My PTH is rising again - not sure where that will go as I had 2 parathyroid grands removed in January 2024. Nephrologist said most people do fine when glands are removed but "not you". Calcium is elevated but still under 11. I've been going to PT all summer for sciatica. It is getting better but still gives me problems. I go twice weekly then do exercises at home in the morning.
Last week was our 48th wedding anniversary. We went to the mountains and hiked Friday and Saturday. Close to 4 hours both days. It was great, but we were sore.
I've been back to school since August 11th. Keep going back and forth if this is my last year. There are days I say yes, Others I say I worked through December 2026 and other say, I'll just keep going. It's month by month. Depends how I feel in the spring and my health.
I'm going to try to do better with keeping up.

Welcome back, Karen! I have been following some of your adventures on Facebook, but that isn't the same as actually hearing from you!
The wedding sounds fantastic. I love everything about it, including the colors! You will definitely have to take a picture of you in your Mother-of-the-Bride dress for us to admire! (I love stuff like that!)
Congratulations on your 48th Anniversary. My sister & her DH celebrated their 48th in August; which hardly seems possible! (We are 'only' at 37.) Sorry about all the medical 'stuff', I am sure it is hard to even keep track of! As far as retirement goes, what I enjoy most is the flexibility, and fall. When I was teaching, I was too busy to realize what a lovely season fall is in North Dakota.
Here's the Wednesday Walking Women. Wonderland, my neck feels about 90% better since I made the medical appointment! I think I will still go tomorrow since we are going on a cruise in a couple weeks, so I want to be 100%; plus I have a couple other things I want to ask her too & it's easier in person instead of going back & forth with emails.

Karen: It's great to hear from you! Like Ruth, I see your posts on Facebook. Congratulations on 48 years of marriage. May your DD and her soon to be husband have a fantastic marriage like you and your dh have had. Weddings are so much fun! I can't believe that your granddaughter is almost 2 1/2 years old. I now have a 10 month old granddaughter. My DD is pregnant. She is having a boy and her delivery date is January 1. You and I have something to look forward to at the same time! I'm so sorry about all your medical problems. I'm amazed that you are able to keep up with all your counts from your different specialists. Please know that I think of you often and so glad that you have posted today. ❤️
Ruth: Happy your neck is feeling better. Good luck at your appointment tomorrow. Looks cold in ND!
I finished and ordered my photo book I was creating with pictures from dh's aunt who died in 2019 at the age of 98. Enjoyed looking at her pictures that start in the 1920s. I've been living through her history. This is the photo I used for the cover. It's dh's mother, aunt, and uncle at very young ages.
In keeping with my promise to myself, I walked early this afternoon. Then had a Girl Scout Gold Award zoom meeting. Glad I walked earlier.

Thanks Ruth and Wonder.
I'm totally spent and everwhelmed today. The assassination of Charlie Kirk. I never heard of him before today. So senseless.
Than the school shooting in Evergreen. A student shot two other students. The shooter has died (turned the gun on themselves). One student is doing okay and the other life threatening injuries.
Plus the terror shootings in Jerusalem on Monday.
So much senseless hatred.
Tomorrow is 9/11. I'm sure hope its a quiet day.
Congrats Wonder on you soon to be new addition to the family.

It certainly is a horrifying time in both the country & world right now. Senseless violence and hatred everywhere you look. As just an ordinary person, I sure wish that there was something I could actually do to make a difference.
Wonderland, the picture book is a great idea. Both my mom & dad's families took lots of pictures; so that is something I should think of putting together as well. What book program do you use?
I went & saw my PA this morning. She said I'm on the right track & am already doing all the exercises PT would let me to do. She told me to continue the exercises, take Aleve twice a day for a week, and prescribed a muscle relaxant for nights. I can walk but not go to my exercise classes until I feel 100%. So……I will be good! DH & I go on a cruise in two weeks & I need to be 100% by then! We'll go dog walking this afternoon.

Karen: Yes, so much senseless hatred. Hard to believe what is happening in America today.
Ruth: Good news about your neck. You need it healed before your cruise! My knees were bothering me before we went on our cruise and they just got worse walking up and down the stairs on the boat. I used Mixbook to make my book. Sutterfly is another good company. First you have to get all the pictures digitized. I used Legacybox to digitize a large amount of pictures bc they have a deal on bulk processing. I bought a Plustex ePhoto to digitize other pictures. It easy to use and I wish I had bought it before I made my first book instead of sending my photos to Legacybox. They did a good job but I would have saved money by doing it myself.
Still keeping my promise to myself - I walked in the last afternoon.

2 dog walks yesterday. I ran errands while DH & Bruno walked this morning, but will go on the afternoon walk, It's raining pretty hard right now, which is a good thing as we need some fall moisture,
