We did get a foot of snow. Fall was unusually mild then winter came all at once BAM. Lots of exercise shoveling this weekend!

    That's crazy Badger!

Strength and Core last night…with a substitute teacher who was showing off her stuff! After class I whispered to a friend…well we got our exercise tonight! This class is my peak class and it was extra, not sore today, so guess it was extra but okay.

Went to the gym at lunch for a regular class. Cold here but no snow. I go up to NYC on Thursday were the weather/snow may be dicey. TT

We are missing out on this storm. It's too cold to snow. Zumba, HIT, finished putting the decorations up & cleaned the house.

Got to the gym Sun/Mon/Tuesday, but now won't be back until Sun Dec 14th! How is that possible?

I go to NYC tomorrow through Tuesday, so lots of walking there…but very cold temps! I have a Lands End maxi-length down coat that I rarely wear, but I think it is coming out of the closet! TT

I love Lands End coats! I have several for various degrees of cold! Enjoy NYC, TT!

I went to Core & Yoga yesterday. Here's the Wednesday Walking Women checking out the new coffee shop at the local college after our indoor walk this morning.

  • Was referred here by the mods. Feeling lost since my body is not performing as it once did. Posted about it and then got up and lifted some weights. Not very much. Joints are aching terribly.

Welcome lovesbts7! None of us will judge, just encourage you to do whatever you can. It gets better with time. There were days during active treatment when it was all I could do to walk to the mailbox and back to the couch. I found a yoga for breast cancer survivors class very helpful. Breathe, stretch & relax into your body. Good teachers/ trainers will adapt the workouts for you.

I did nothing Monday after all that shoveling. Hit the gym Tuesday. Should have gone today but it’s SO cold outside and SO cozy inside.

Welcome lovesbts7! We all know how discouraging it is when you finish treatment and realize you have a long way to go to get back to normal. I once read that however long you were in treatment, expect that it will take that long again to back to where you want to be. My experience was that it took twice as long (I had a lumpectomy, chemo, rads & was on AIs for 5 years). My advice is to start where you are, set small, reachable goals & slowly work up from there. Being consistent is the key. It will take longer than you want, but you really can get back to where you want to be.

Gym today. Started on the treadmill to warm up, but stayed on it for 45 mins listening to side A of my Disco Classics mix tape. Walkman Sport still works after all these years. 🎶

Welcome lovesbts7! Please keep coming back. We are here to listen. ❤️

Badger: I can't believe how much snow you had!

TT: Safe travel and time in NYC.

Ruth: Another fabulous picture of the WWW.

I haven't been actively active (if that makes sense lol) other than normal activity. DS is having stress with a part of his life so that makes me have stress. He has gotten answers and is relieved so that means I'm relieved. DD had her appointment with morning and her BP is up. Her due date is January 1. Doctor told her to monitor it 3x/day. Pretty sure it's related to her job but it's still worrisome.

We picked out our Christmas tree today. Of course it's a NC mountain tree. It's supposed to rain/freeze/maybe snow during the night so dh got it in the house to keep it from getting wet. Tomorrow I will decorate the tree. Christmas trees and lights are relaxing and calming to me and I'm ready for it.

I heard "The Little Drummer Boy" on the radio today. I love the song, especially the line "the ox and lamb kept time" - that part is the sweetest. In 2006 I heard the song on my way to meet my oncologist for the first time. I was a nervous ball of nerves driving over for my appointment but once I heard the song, a peace came over me. I knew I would be okay. Whenever I hear it now I stop what I'm doing so I can feel the calm it creates in me.

Wonderland, when kids are stressed (no matter the age of the kid), the momma is equally stressed (if not more!). Glad DS has gotten the answers he needed. Thank goodness we live in an age when pregnancy concerns can be closely monitored! DD is far enough along that the baby should be okay even if it's a little early. My BP went way up at the end of my pregnancy & DS was born 2 weeks early. Since he grew up to be 6'2", it didn't seem to hurt him a bit! I put up my tree already. I love, love, love the lights and happy memories my decorations bring!

I survived my annual physical with no surprises this morning. I did the eye doctor in October & have a dentist appointment next week. After that, I should be good for another 100, 000 miles. 😀

A short dog walk this afternoon. Dance2fit & Yoga tonight.
