Lets Post our Daily Exercise

I walked home from work today - took a slightly longer route and walked a little slower.
It was very enjoyable being out in the sun.
Then however I took leave of my senses and ate half the fridge contents!
I don't know what came over me. A huge chunk of vegetarian lasagne, chocolate and then a bowl of cereal. Things I haven't touched for months.
O well - tomorrow is another day (hopefully to exercise and make healthy choices - not to go for the other half of the fridge!)

Body balance and pink pilates this morning with two new women joining the tribe.

Day 2 after TC #2 and I did my hour of stair climbing with the heel toe action Sweet suggested. I should be more like TwoHobbies and start carrying things with me as I go. I can multitask and get the house cleaned up at the same time. I know this will get much harder over the days to come. I have to keep moving. I am inspired by everyone who drags herself through something.

Haven't checked in for awhile, lots of great activity here and won't get the chance to catch up on everything.
It's been icy and super cold here, bundled my dog Lucy and went for a 2 mile trail hike yesterday. Today did an hour of pilates Wunda chair and 20 minutes of jump board.
I've had 3 friends recently diagnosed with BC - all have had surgery and are going through various forms of treatment. Wow - this disease is so rampant.
Hope that everybody is well. Hugs ~

Exercise (???) today involved driving an hour each way BACK to my PS to clean up Righty Nip who decided to bleed last night. Gross. I am now armed with instructions and stopped at the store on the way home and bought tons of gauze and some Neosporin. Walked in the store, parked far from the door, but used a little cart because I had to drag it through yesterday's snow dumping.
AND as I walked the store I found a weighted hula hoop with DVD on a clearance rack!!! I'm sure it's a beginner's cheapy, but I've been intrigued since reading about hooping here. So as soon as I'm cleared for takeoff I'm going to give it a try!!
Pat...stairs are a GREAT workout! I started just adding a couple of times a day and then built up to more. I don't run. I just walk a steady pace. And I keep tally on a sheet of paper so I can see improvement.
Meanwhile, it's snowing again!!!!!!!

Really stiff today but still managed to complete 30 minutes on the Elliptical plus weights. Now going to settle in with my veggie omelet and watch the Olympics.

Walked the dogs with DH today and will be doing some stairs now.
WW, walking the dogs was the only exercise I got during chemo, but it did me a world of good.
I got my second cortisone injection (well actually it's 2 injections each time) in my frozen right shoulder today. Those injections help a lot, but I have an awful dull ache in my shoulder the rest of the day and into the night each time I get them. I've been through this before with my left shoulder, but it's worse to have it in the right, since that's my BC side and I'm also right handed. Will be having my mammogram next week and I'm hope to be able to raise my right arm as high and for as long as I'll need to.

annie...I've been down the "shoulder experience" too....hope things get better soon for you.
45 minutes of dreadmill today, plus lots of laundry and grocery shopping. Sure wish winter would decide to disappear!!!!
dulcigirl....next week I "might" get an idea of when my nipple recon will be. It seems like everytime I get to where I want to be, fitness wise, another stage of recon sets me back again....can't wait for it all to be behind me! What is the reason for no exercise with the nipple recon??? Are the new nipples THAT fragile??? What in the world do ladies do who have that procedure done in the heat of summer, if you're not allowed to sweat????

You poor girls back east, really will it ever stop snowing!!!! Hope your shoulder gets some relief Annie. Good to see you Joy, we've missed you.
Spin class tonight, didn't feel like going but dragged myself to the gym.

Hooping and pushups today. Got some new walking shoes on clearance.

Ann...may need hooping advice in a couple of weeks.
Nihahi...yep, they are fragile! You would laugh if you could see the huge stacks of gauze I have encircling them right now! My PS actually doesn't like to do them around summer time, but it's more because it's hard to conceal them in these first couple of weeks. The bandaging is lumpy. Easy to hide under sweaters and sweatshirts though. (I'm getting great use of my first exchange bras...they are enough bigger that there is space for the gauze stacks!) And also because you can't swim.
Sweat? Well, it's important not to have them get soaked while healing. Many PS's don't allow showering for the first week. Also, it's very important not to have them rubbing/friction. Bouncing while exercising could do some damage!
But yes....I feel like, fitness-wise, it's always two steps forward--procedure/sleep in recliner--3 steps back. It's more irritating this time because it was such a simple procedure that I feel FINE!!! Before there was always that "hit by a large truck" feeling to keep me in line.
Grrr!!!! But this should be my last surgical procedure!!!! (SHOULD be!)

Dulci, hope you recover quickly! Annie, hope the shoulder gets better by mammogram time. Joy, great to hear from you. That Wunda chair looks really interesting!
Yesterday was Tango day.

Joy - I'm so sorry about your friends! I hope things continue to go well for them. Dulci - hope the nip issue heals fast. I just did 3D tattoo nips, so never did have that nip surgery. WW - I'm so impressed you can do anything in those first few days after chemo! Annie - ouch on the shoulder. Seems a lot of b/c people end up with frozen shoulder. I was lucky - when I was dx with LE, my LE therapist also found I had a shoulder impingement and worked on that, too. She said she sees a lot of shoulder issues with b/c patients - not just with LE, but because we get in the habit of hunching slightly to protect our chests and minimize pain after surgery. I have a feeling she may have saved me from frozen shoulder. Love Dulci's bargain on the hoop and Ann's bargain on the walking shoes! Cheryl - good for you for dragging yourself to the gym on a night when you felt like blowing it off. I think those workouts should count double!
30 minutes core/balance ball workout yesterday, plus 30 minute run - sunset is actually gotten late enough that if I dash home right from work and change instantly, I can get 30 minutes in before it gets too dark (if the sidewalks aren't ice/snow covered). Great change from the dreadmill. 30 minutes elliptical this morning.

I am feeling slightly nauseous - I think its the Tamoxifen - but I decided to ride my bike anyway - I don't feel worse for having ridden.
9km - 30 minutes.

Joy, I second NatsFan regarding your friends. I looked up Wunda chair and will add that to my someday try (still have not been on a reformer) and hugs back at ya! Dulci, hope it's forward from here on and my nipple went without a hitch, with little or no special care, Flaps are easier on nipple reconstruction than implants. Good buy on the hoop and hope you like it. Annie, your frozen shoulder has been going for some time and I hope this does the trick. Heidi, tango day, do tell. Today DH and I are celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary and grateful we have come this far. Hi Ann!
Freestyle step and body balance followed by a swim and steam room - nice way to spend a cold morning to mid-day Friday.

hi ladies, hit the track after work tonight to walk off some stress. Got in 7.62 km = 4.74 miles before pedometer fell apart LOL poor thing. It died from exhaustion. Time to buy a new one, maybe an upgrade? IDK but in the interim will use the free one I got from a walk last year.
Happy Anniversary LB, we celebrate #17 later this month.
Hope you're having fun, Ruth!
hi Joy, glad you popped in! ♥ to all

Dulcigirl, have fun with your hoop. Don't overdo it though-- heavy hoops can leave you really bruised up. If you enjoy it and want to stick with it you'll probably want to get a lighter hoop. My first one was large and pretty heavy, but not weighted. In a few weeks I was ready for a lighter one.
Did a long walk and a short walk today.

Happy Anniversary LB. Badger you probably worked that poor pedometer to death

Body Combat class tonight with my old Saturday instructor, oh my, 2 hours later and I can feel that tomorrow I'm going to have a very sore mid section and arms It was well worth the drive in horrid Friday night peak hour traffic.

Just popping in for a quick 'hi'. Sounds like everyone is keeping moving:) We are having lots of fun; walking like crazy (also eating like crazy). It has been cool here by Arizona standards, but of course, feels wonderful to us. We fly home Monday night, so I will give a full report on Tuesday. Have a great weekend

Happy anniversary, LB! I started Tango lessons with some friends to prepare for an upcoming wedding anniversary party of another friend. I may be getting hooked on it, particularly on the stilletto heels.

LOL, on the pedomether, badger! You are a trooper, Cheryl.
I didn't get any exercise yesterday. Did laundry and packed for our ski holiday. We drive off after lunch.

Hi Ruth....yep, AZ is still a vast improvement eh!! Glad to hear you're having a great time.
45min run on the dreadmill.

Lots of great exercising going on here. I'm getting ready to go out and walk because we have yet more snow and I like to walk in the snow. We should have had the winter olympics here!
Heidi what fun to learn to tango. I always wanted to learn to salsa and samba but the lessons I've seen you need a partner and i can't talk my husband into it!
Badger I am using Argus app on my cell phone. It acts as a pedometer and its free. You can track your exercise or steps or miles, however you want to do it. It also allows you to take pictures of your food to remember what you ate. I love it. Here's a picture I took a few days ago of how the screen looks.

45 minute brisk walk for me today but I really enjoyed it as it was in a park and I wasn't carrying a bag of any kind.

Jogged one mile, walked one mile with DH and dogs and walked one solo. Beautiful weather here today.
