Back from Mexico, where I did lots and lots of walking, I wish I had had a calculator because I really must have walked at least 10 miles. Tomorrow back to my regularly scheduled water aerobics.

Auroaya: Hope your trip was peaceful and fulfilling for you.
Badger: Yes, go Badgers! I know lots of people in NC pulling for Wisconsin because they don't like Duke!
Cheryl: Are you feeling better?
Ginger: May you continue to get stronger and stronger as each year passes.
LB: Please let your dh know how you described him: Relaxed darling husband. That's so sweet! I would want to know if my dh wrote that about me.
M0mmyof2: You sound like me. All that cooking wore me out!
Walked/ran this afternoon.

Anniversaries are HUGE. I look forward to celebrating the years of being NED. Congrats to you, Ginger.
I did day 1 of my C25K today - yahoo! It was 5 minutes of walking to warm up and 5 to cool down, and then 20 minutes of jogging for a minute and then walking for 1.5 minutes. I think days 2 and 3 are the same.

Last night did awesome Body Combat class, my young Vietnamese friend started teaching at the Y and he is an amazing instructor, everyone is comparing him to the wonderful Eduardo he brings the same kind of energy to the class

I had yesterday off so DH and I took DS shopping for new golf clubs for his birthday. We then enjoyed a lovely Mexican lunch at Su Casa. So nice spending time with my guys. Afterward, DH and I did some shopping at Costco and then did a 5 1/2 mile walk with our dog. Badgers loss was a sad ending to an otherwise delightful day

Had a great weekend at the cabin - lots of Garden N Sculpt as we started clearing out the meadow gardens. After that, we hiked for a few hours - first good hike of the season. Yesterday we came home for Opening Day - did a 4 mile walk back and forth to the ballpark, which was good because I thoroughly enjoyed my pretzel half smoke and beer! I love the pagentry of Opening Day.

To everyone who was pulling for Wisconsin, sorry!
DH was especially disappointed - if Wisconsin had won, he'd have won the office March Madness pool. 0 -
Cheryl, it was a Turner sky day yesterday in Margate (so fitting). Wonderland, it was day 4 of his last day off that things got relaxed and actually, not cooking on Easter helped us both to chill. Aurora, good to see you back and you too Kindergarten and of course S&S. Go Cassie Cat! Thanks Ruth for the valuable information. Super opening day photo Mary.
Body balance at the gym this morning and yoga tonight with son.

Hi ladies, Do you mind if I join you? I am the world's worst when it comes to doing regular exercise. I've been trying to do more walking/hiking and a little yoga, and it's been spotty. Of course, I am just recovering from the flu, so I have a good excuse for the moment ;-). I did walk today, however--about 30 minutes. Do you find that those Fitbit things help motivate you? I thought this thread would be a good place to start and see what others are doing and what motivates you.
Thank you, Kat

Welcome, Kat! This is a great place to get motivation
. I just got a fitbit so haven't used it very long but I like it so far. Neat picture, Mary!
Ginger, we will have to plan next year's trip later in the summer so those who plan around the school year schedule have a better chance to make it. Maybe we will have to go east!
Glad you are home, Auroaya.
I went to my cardio sculpt class this morning & am off to yoga in a few minutes. It is cold & damp here. BRRRRR!!

Wish I coud join the California dreaming getaway. Sounds like a lot of fun. I will be ready for the next one.
Cassie, yay on day 1 of the C25k. I plan on starting in a few weeks.
Kay, welcome. I love my fitbit. Helps me stay on track and motivated.
Really picking up in the exercise. 30 mins of excercise yesterday and today. Also walking 30 mins

Hi Kat: This is a great thread to get you motivated to to stay motivated. Welcome!!!
Nats: Great picture!

welcome,Kat! I love my fitbit. I set a goal of 10,000 steps daily and if I check it and am slacking it really motivates me to get moving. It vibrates when you hit your goal which is very rewarding.
Cassie, congrats on doing day 1 of C25K; I did it every other day and walked the in between days.
Ruth- I love that plan for next year. Would love to meet all you ladies!
I have hit my first roadblock since I started running last July. My hip is really bothering me. It has been building the past couple of weeks and I cannot ignore it any longer. I was only able to run a mile yesterday and today it hurts to walk and stairs are really painful. I took the day off from exercise today and am trying to stretch it out but I am concerned about losing my exercise momentum. Anybody have good stretches for the hip; please chime in.

Cheryl: Glad to hear you are feeling better.
Meljo: Congrats on the run
Badger: Sorry about Wisconsin's loss
Natsfan: Great weather for opening day! Hope you had a great time.
Welcome Kat!
Catching up after a busy weekend. Saturday was errands and the local monthly BC luncheon. Easter Sunday was full of family time and food. Thus I hit boot camp class last night and tonight to make up for all the extra calories.

Cassie - I did day 1 of a C25K yesterday too - sounds like the exact same workout I had
.Cheryl - hope you're feeling better and better each day. California Dreamin 2015 - here we come!
Cassie - congrats on 4 years of looking ahead and not back, appreciating life instead of letting it pass you buy, and
finding this thread and so many new friends
Kindergarten - you always make me smile with your enthusiasm for everything! Hope you're feeling better too!
Ruth and LB and Nats and everyone - thank you for being such steady, consistent support on this thread. You're awesome.
Kat - welcome! I've been more AWOL than present here lately but it's a great place. You'll find support and encouragement whether you're barely able to walk to the mailbox and back or run a marathon.
No workout for me today. Worked until 6pm than went to my parents to visit because they just got back from their Florida winter. Day 2 of C25K tomorrow. Went 'safari' shopping with my friend Janiece on Friday - our big trip is coming up on April 19. Can't wait to see the South African plains - one of those chances to see another corner of God's great world that I can appreciate way more now than I would have a few years ago.
G'night all!

Keeping Things Whole
In a field
I am the absence
of field.
This is
always the case.
Wherever I am
I am what is missing.When I walk
I part the air
and always
the air moves in
to fill the spaces
where my body's been.We all have reasons
for moving.
I move
to keep things whole.-Mark Strand

Auroaya, welcome back! Those must have been beautiful walks in Mexico.
Ginger I would rest whatever hurts and exercise what doesn't hurt (like the upper body) if you want to keep the momentum. In the meantime apply ice packs, take ibuprofen to reduce inflammation, maybe replace shoes, see a sports medicine specialist. I'm seeing one tomorrow as I'm tired of taking anti-inflammatories for my problem as prescribed by my onc (including steroids). There's some improvement but I want it all better before going mountainbiking for spring break.
I took a photo of me with my Zumba teacher last night, but accidentally deleted it. Anybody know how to retrieve deleted photos from a smartphone?

Thanks for the suggestions, Heidi

Heidi, do your pictures get automatically saved to a picassa (or some other) account on your computer? Does your phone have a 'gallery' app? If it does maybe it would be there. (And if any of that works, I will faint because I am not a tech person at all).
Love the poem, Lilac!
Off with the Wednesday ladies to walk indoors again...boo hoo, spring just can't stick here yet

Ruth, weather stinks in WI too. 35 degrees and raining today. Boooo!
I was sick yesterday--fever, sore throat, headache, etc. No exercise. Quite a bit better today. Heading to the gym for treamill run and some lifting.
Auroaya, I am heading to Puerto Aventuras next Friday for vacation for a week. Can't wait.

Since we walked indoors, here is a picture of our second favorite WWW group activity....eating! I will go to Zumba later today & then we are going out to dinner with some friends who are in town.....I'm skipping lunch, but don't think that will be enough to even out the calories in/calories out count for the day!

You look terrific Ruth!
Yoga class this morning

If you scrunch your eyes you can maybe see the slogan on my tee shirt, which I won when they drew my name out of a hat at my beauty salon. There's a can of hairspray in the middle with the inscription "I love to shake my can"

Welcome Kat. Like Sweet, I've been mostly missing the past few weeks but this thread is always on my radar.
Two, thanks for the tip about packing. I'm trying not to pack 'unnecessary' stuff. Going to be hard also since most of my stuff will be going into storage while I'm homeless May through Aug. I will be living out of a suitcase and carry-on during that time as, first I await retirement (mid-June I hope), then CA dreaming funtime with the gals from this thread. When I return from CA will hop into my car and take a road trip with my sister from NJ to FL stopping in MD, NC, SC, and GA to see family before landing in FL (end-July) at which time I will rent until I find a home. Of course this all depends on closing the sale of my home in a few weeks. Boy, just typing that wore me out. Night sculpted friends.
