I only take Advil when I need it.  Not even every day.  MA is abbrev. for Massachusetts.

    Well, here comes the anxiety.

Had my blood drawn today for my onc appt Aug 2. Used to have to do it 7-10 days before, now it's 10-14 days before which gives one more time to think about the results.

I was so nerved-up when I got into the Center, I had to make a bathroom run right after I checked in. And the nurse had to take it from my hand when the vein in my arm wouldn't give up any blood. LOL

Had some shopping to do after, bought some fun pencils, glue sticks & the like for my Granddaughter to do 'crafts' with. Was doing fine until on the way home. Got all teary-eyed. Had to turn up the volume on the disk I was playing to get my mind somewhere else.

Why does this happen?? And I haven't even found out the results yet, just had the friggin' blood drawn! How will I be in a couple of weeks when I actually have the doctor appointment?!?

    Oh, how I hate this.....

Oh Val....There are some things you just cant get over it. It is extremely anxiety producing those follow ups. After 5 years June appt was the first time i didnt go into crisis.

Does your DR do TM test also/ I believe you mentioned it once.

Why 10-14 days. They get the result in 48 hours. wont they give it to you on the phone the way mine does?

Hi Shelia!  Doing well, living life and trying to to think too much about BC...my last herceptin is TOMORROW and I am pretty excited about being done with that.   Now I just need to convince my onc that I NEED confirmation of NED...I am sorry but 'because I said so' just doesn't work for me.  I want some facts to back it up Undecided

I remember being told once I would get the results when I saw the onc so I have never attempted to call. I was very surprised to see on my appointment slip the last time I went that they wanted lab work done 10-14 days prior to appointment. Yes, they do the TM test.

Thank you for the hugs, Michelle & Sheila. ♥

Im so happy for you Michelle. 52 weeks Herceptin, it didnt give me any SE but still you have to be there once week.

I dont think about BC all the time and Im grateful I can get up every morning and have no pain.

But those 4 months follow ups were making me physically sick. Since I did well and stayed calm in June hoping it will continue.Wink

Val...they do the lab work in the Oncologist Office. Then they call me as soon as they get the results. Most of the time it takes 2 days. i always schedule it Monday or Tuesday, away from the weekend.

My lab work is done right down the hall from my onc's office. But, as I have sat in the outer waiting room, I have seen the blood drawer (?) walk out into the waiting room area & give a blue cooler type bag to the volunteer worker who helps people check in & answers the phone. And they have walked it out to a vehicle outside. I must ask where the blood goes to for testing at my appointment, wish I had thought of it today. They are either sending it across the parking lot to the Hospital (which I think is where it's going) or to Flint, a large city 20 miles away, not sure.

I sure HATE waiting for the results. One more thing to agonize over.... I'm happy you are able to receive your results so quickly, I wish I could. Oh, well...

    off to bed, good night

Seyla888, you got a popular thread here sister-girl!   So unfortunate that the numbers of women Dx with B/C continue to grow, but the Stage I's who are lucky enough to find this supportive thread will be in the best of company!!!
