Wheatfields, thank you for your prayers. I do pray that your friend's new pcp will be able to shed some new light on her insomnia. I am glad you will be there to support her. An extra set of ears is always helpful.
I am going to tell you all about Adair the neighbor and friend I have asked you to pray for. I have known Adair in my almost 34 yrs of living in my neighborhood. She was one of these ladies that could do anything. I would see her up on a high ladder doing something on her house. She can fix cars, install toilets etc. You get the picutre. Then she got RA and was eventually needing a walker all the time. She has a little Yorkie dog which she walks all over the neighborhood with her walker. I have only known her as a single mom who was married a long time ago. Fast forward to November 2024. She was out at 4 am with her little dog as he had to go to the bathroom. She is an early riser anyway so this may have been normal. It was very cold and she fell and it was too early for people to be up and around. She crawled to her front door and called the paramedics. She didn't break anything at the time but really badly damaged soft tissue in an already bad leg. I texted her and she was in a rehab facility but no visitors because of Covid. I am not sure when she got home but I know she was so excited to walk a couple of steps in therapy. This would have been around Feb. I think. She had a whole one day and one night at her own home and then the next thing I heard was the paramedics were at her house the next day. No one knew anything. I texted her over and over again and nothing. Finally a neighbor of mine texted me just a few days ago and told me where she was and told me she broker her neck. I visited her the next day as I had been so worried about her. The neighbor said she is doing well, you'll see when you visit. So I did see her and slowly the pieces to the puzzle started to take shape. Her house is exactly like mine so I understood when she said she had a load of laundry and she must have blacked and tumbled head over heels all the way down the stairs to the first landing. She told me she ended up on that first landing in the corner with her hind end in the air. She called out for help over and over again. Luckily she is attached to another two story house unlike mine. I talked to her neighbor a couple of days ago and got more of the story. When Adair fell the lady whose house is attached to hers heard her fall. This neighbor's dog kept barking because he could hear Adair crying out for help. The neighbor tried to get in her front door and it was locked. She called 911. If this neighbor and her dog hadn't heard her it could have been much worse. Adair lost consciouness for a month and when she woke up she didn't recognize her own children. She is in her 80's. So when I saw her I didn't know some of the pieces of the puzzle even when visiting with her. Her mind seemed fine to me but exactly where she had been all these past weeks was a little fuzzy. She was at this new rehab facility only a week. No surgery was required. She said she was in a metal device and then a soft collar. She had none of that when I saw her. The problem is she has no function in both hands and can't hold a phone let alone text. She had a pacemaker put in a couple of weeks ago and I am thinking this is why she fell both times because of her heart. She is a survivor but this roaming cardiologist who apparently had no bedside manner at all told her she might never regain the use of her hands. She cried and with her fiery personality at times she told this doctor she never wanted to see him again. Her PT therapist told her this doctor was something else. So I am not sure what is going to happen to her. She wants to get home of course but that won't happen unless she can use her hands. Her daughter came for a month and I didn't know that and was living in her house. She lives in Denver and has told her Mom that she could go live out there with her and her DH. She told me she lost all of her collection of orchids as I am a grower of orchids too. I told her I wanted to buy her one but I needed to see if her room was conducive to keeping it alive. I think it is. She said you could buy me my first of my next orchids. So I bought her one today but since I am sick now I am not sure when I will be able to see her again. Her facility with heavy traffic is quite a ways from my house. This lady is survivor in so many ways. I asked to pray for her before I left and that meant a lot to her. I prayed for her almost every day when I knew she had fallen the first time. So with my really long post this is why I am asking for prayer for her. I came home after visiting her and I had this incredible sadness and I could hardly sleep at all that night. She had Covid and pneumonia in this whole ordeal as well. So that is the whole story. If you were talking to her you would never know all that she has gone through. She is the ultimate survivor. I am asking God to completely heal her.
Have good night everyone. Thank you for your prayers. I am feeling better than I was this afternoon.
Love,
Nancy

Oh Nancy, thank you for telling us about Adair. She truly is a strong lady and a survivor. I will keep her in my prayers and now I can pray more specifically for her. I am glad you are feeling better and hope you improve more today. Have a good day. Blessings, Chris

Nancy, thank you for introducing Adair to us. She sounds like a wonderful neighbor, good friend, and strong woman. I will pray for her recovery, and I am glad that you are there to support her. You are a good friend, too.

Thank you all for your prayers. When I see Adair the next time I am going to tell her there are ladies praying for her. I want to be more forthright in my witness to her as well.
Wheatfields, I hope your friend got some encouraging news from her new pcp. I know you are a good friend to her and I am sure she appreciates your support.
Teka, one of my email friends from Syracuse said their meteorologist said their area was the worst weather in the country. I imagine there are a lot of us thinking the same thing about our area. She talked about more snow. I told her about you living in the North Country. I said you have to love snow living there………..right?
Have a good night dear sisters.
Love,
Nancy

Teka, your Easter meal sounds delicious and your flowers are lovely. I hope you had a good day.
I hope everyone had a good Easter to celebrate our most important day on the calendar… the resurrection of Jesus.
I would appreciate your prayers. I stayed home for all of the Easter weekend and watched our church services online. I only have one more day of antibiotics and I don't think they have helped. I got groceries today and came home and just slept. I ate dinner quite late and realized I was feeling awful. I am planning on going back to urgent care tomorrow. I called them tonight and I got the after hours person who said to make an apt I have to make it on the same day. If I would have had any inkling I was going feel so awful tonight I could have gone to urgent care this afternoon. I am quite discouraged as this has seemingly been going on since the end of March.
I am planning on making an apt with a new ENT and prepare to have tubes put in at least one ear.
Wheatfields, I talked to my pharmacist a couple of nights ago regarding one of my meds and I told her about my ear infection and she said you may need a stronger antibiotic. I was having a lot of issues with this one already. She mentioned a sinus infection and I said I don't think that is what I have but only an ear infection. I told her about doing the nasal rinse every morning. She asked what kind of water I was using. I said I have a Brita filter and use water from that dispenser. She said oh no, no, no. She said you need to use distilled water. Oh my. So I thought I would pass that on to you since we have discussed this before. I have been using bottle water and have not got the distilled water yet. I had planned on doing that this afternoon and didn't ever make it to my local grocery store after getting groceries at Whole Foods. I hope you are doing well with your issues.
Take take dear sisters.
Love,
Nancy

Nancy, I'm praying that you were able to get in to urgent care and find a solution to not feeling well. Also, thank you for the insight on the nasal rinse. When my BIL showed me years ago how he did the rinses he used distilled water and so I always did. When you shared that you had done it twice a day for six weeks I was envisioning carrying all those jugs of distilled water up my flight of steps. Praying that you are feeling better and able to sleep, also for Adair.
Teka, your meal sounds lovely and the flowers are as well, beautiful!
Chris, praying that you are feeling better each day. Hershey, praying also for you and your DH.
I have an appointment with my ENT tomorrow to talk about how the steroid drops are going. I think what I'll do is record the appointment like I do my nurse friend's appointments. That way I can review answers to my questions.
Love, Wheatfields

@wheatfields What a good idea to record your appointment. Between old age and chemo brain this is a good solution.
@bandwoman1234 Nancy, I have been praying for your ear infection to resolve. It is tough to miss Easter services, but I don't even try anymore…so sad. My DD tells us daily how full the ERs are still with all the respiratory illnesses that are going around, and we have all been sick enough this year.
I am feeling better on this new med but hopefully it is working so I can stay on it a long time. My DD has been having a lot of pain with an old root canal. She finally got into see the dentist at 7:00 this morning…she has been in tears with so much pain. It is 10:30 and she is not home yet, and the dentist is only 3 miles away! But my DH is with her and I know she will be okay. Our little dog has a knee that keeps popping out of place. Poor pooch. I think she may have to have surgery. We were hoping it was mild but it happens too often and has been curbing her energy. Other than that, I am beginning to enjoy Spring. My sweet sister arrives next week for a visit. I am so excited!
Take care everyone. I am here for your prayer needs.
Love, Chris

Nancy, I hope your Urgent Care appointment went well and the doctor finds the root cause of the infection. I'm so thankful that you and the pharmacist had a conversation about rinsing nasal passages. A couple of years ago an alert was issued regarding nasal irrigation systems. People who had used tap water or Brita pitcher water were developing infections (some serious) from bacteria and protozoa. Distilled, sterile, or boiled and cooled tap water were to be used instead.
Teka, lovely spring blooms!
Wheatfields, praying your ENT appointment tomorrow is productive. Recording the Q&A with your doctor is a very helpful idea.
Chris, the pain from an infected tooth can be excruciating. I do hope your daughter's dentist performed a successful root canal and relieved her discomfort. Poor Princess … I hope relief is on the way for her, too.

My DD had to go back to the dentist after only a few hours as there was no relief from the pain. They aren't doing the necessary procedure until next Monday as they need to put her under and need an anthesiologist, etc., but they did something and gave her some meds. It did nothing. So back she went after a few hours. My DH took her which means if they don't return in time, I have to go to the bus stop to pick up my DGD. Since I am unsure whether I can drive my DD's car which is a stick (it has been many years) or walk the half-mile, I will take my scooter if necessary. Ughh… Fortunately the weather is good and I feel okay.
0 -
Chris, I am praying right now as I read your post about about your DD. I hope they get home in time to pick up your granddaughter and you won't have to relearn a stick shift or use your scooter. Nothing is worse than tooth pain in my opinion. I hope her pain will be under control as she waits to have this procedure. I am glad you are getting some nice weather. I hope you have a wonderful time with your sister next week.
Wheatfields, when I went through my initial cancer apts with all of the different doctors I used a voice recorder. I know sometimes my mind is just trying to concentrate on what they are saying and I know it is not registering. I am so glad you were using distilled water. Maybe I was in a vicious cycle caused by my nasal rinsing!!! I hope everything goes well with your ENT apt tomorrow.
Hershey, I guess I never got that memo. I ordered several cases of bottled water and several jugs of distilled water and picked those up after going to urgent care. I saw another PA today and I told her more of my history of sinus issues, sinus surgery etc. She ordered a CT scan which I did today and referred me to an ENT and wanted that to happen by April 29. Well, that didn't happen but it might. I decided to change to another ENT and can't get in with him until May 28. I am on a wait list. I have what looks to be a eustachian tube disfunction ( tubes in the ears probably in my near future) and I have a chronic sinus infection as well fluid on the ear. I am on my way to pick up my prescriptions right now. I had trouble with my first course of antibiotics and this next course will be a more aggressive approach of AB and prednisone so I am bracing myself for this next treatment plan. I rarely miss by Bible study but I think I am going to have to tonight.
Take care everyone.
Love,
Nancy

Oh Chris, I'm so sorry to read that your daughter is still having pain related to the old root canal. I will continue to pray for pain relief while she waits for the procedure on Monday.
Nancy, the PA sounds very much on top of the situation. It's impressive she ordered and had the CT scheduled the same day as your appointment with her. While it's disappointing that an ENT appointment is not available until late May, patients do routinely cancel and reschedule appointments. I will pray that a convenient appointment time opens for you in the near future.
My town sponsors an Earth Day tree sale every year. We purchased a little maple tree and planted it yesterday. It's a pretty maple, but such a small skinny tree! Two years ago we purchased a Vanderwolf pine tree, and it is magnificent now. I'm hoping little maple tree follows Vanderwolf's example.

Hershey, this clinic where I go for urgent care is also my cancer clinic. It has many services right in their building which really is very helpful. It is out of town but I really like the urgent care doctors and PA's there. I guess my declining several apts that were presented to me in place of my late May ENT has dismissed me from the wait list which makes no sense to me. I will probably have to have some type of surgery so going to some other ENT miles from here makes no sense. So when I seen my pcp in a couple of weeks I will see if he could help with this. If my old ENT had not retired it would be a very different situation.
I hope your little Maple tree does well. My newly planted little Silver Linden tree from last year doesn't appear to have any growth on it and it was definitely affected by the cicadas so I am hoping it is not dead.I planted two red ember Maples when I moved in in 1991. They are very slow growing by very sturdy. I hope yours does well.
Chris, give us an update on your daughter when you can and if you had to pick up your granddaughter from the busy stop yesterday.
Take care dear sisters.
Love,
Nancy

Nancy, I am sorry you are struggling getting appointments on top of everything else. That is a problem everywhere—just not enough doctors for the population. It does sound like they are doing the best they can. I will pray God smoothes out your paths for treatment.
Wheatfields, we had our entire yard, front and back, redone last year. It looks like all of our nine new trees are doing fine, as are our shrub and new lawn. They relocated three existing small pines and one of them looks a little weak, but the installers will be here in two weeks to check. It is so nice to have a nice yard after living in a condo in San Diego and having no control. We are loving it. Our neighborhood HOA is very strict, but we went a little beyond with a patio and firepit also. We did it mainly for out daughter since she lives with us and the backyard is on her level. We want her to love the house too as she takes care of us, and she told me just today that she loves it.
By the way, my DH and DD made it back in time to pick up my granddaughter from the bus stop so I did not have to do that. My DD is doing better, and we even went this morning for pedicures. She was given steroids, antibiotics, and pain pills to tide her over until Monday. The problem is she throws up antibiotics but finally kept the last one down before our pedicures. She says she still is in pain but it is better. The other problem is her infection is under the tooth so the swelling is in a dangerous place. If it swells too much it could block her airway (not swell her cheek) so she has to be careful. Since she is a nurse, she knows what to do. Thanks for asking.

Chris, I am glad to hear that you did not have to relearn stick shifting on the fly. So glad to hear your DD is better. If I am remembering correctly she will have this dental procedure on Monday so I pray that she will be able to make it until then without incidence and is able to control her pain.
My ear pain is actually worse but I am taking things now with my new meds that are really hard on me so I did not choose to continue with the Sudafed as they elevate my bp which the PA knew ten days or so ago and we discussed that. I am supposed to otry Musinex but both Predisone and Musinex have given me acid reflux in the not so distant past so I am reluctant to add that in the mix.
I am glad to hear you are enjoying your home now after spending so much time getting all of your renovations and additions in place. I bet it looks beautiful. I lived in apartments for so many years and now I have a pretty big yard now so I am enjoying that as well.
Have good night.
Love,
Nancy

Nancy, how are you feeling?Has your ear improved? I have been praying for you.
Teka and Wheatfields, I am hoping you both have a good week and that Spring is treating you well.
My DD goes in tomorrow to have her tooth fixed—finally. Unfortunately, her appointment is late enough I have to go pick my DGD up from the bus stop. I have decided to embrace it and plan on taking my scooter. The weather should cooperate and it is only a quarter of a mile each way. When I was her age (9) I walked further than that to school every day by myself, but times have changed. I know she could do it if she had to. It is not a complicated track and it is all contained in the same neighborhood with only one street to cross. It's just that I can't walk very far and she gets distracted. I am tempted to try it with the walker, but perhaps I shall try the scooter first. I know, she needs to learn to do it by herself, but her mom says no. I'll let you know how it goes.

Hi Chris,
I have really lost track of the days. I knew my parents wedding annivesary was coming and my sister reminded me in a text yesterday (Saturday), would have been their 78th anniversary. I thought that was days away. So I say that in asking when is your sister is coming for a visit? Has it already happened or is it this week?
I know your DD will be glad to get this dental procedure behind her. I pray that she will not have a lot of pain during and afterwards.
I don't know how difficult it is for you to take your scooter but that sounds to me like a better option than your walker. I think of how in elementary school we went home for lunch and we walked. That was a different time for sure. I hope you can maneunver your scooter with your granddaughter sitting on your lap.
I thought I had strep throat or Covid a couple of days ago. I had a horrible sore throat which was something new. My ear pain is much better. Then yesterday no sore throat at all but today I am having some problems with my stomach and my antibiotics. I am on Predisone too and having some diffiulty sleeping. I only have a few more days of that. I never felt like going anywhere to be tested for covid and I realized that all of my home tests were probably expired because I had to buy my last covid tests at the pharmacy last summer when I thought I had covid again but didn't. I used up both tests then.
I will pray that tomorrow goes well for you and your DD, and DGD.
Take care,
Love,
Nancy

Thanks Nancy. I am sorry you are still struggling with your medications.
I will take my scooter tomorrow but there is no need for Bria to ride on my lap. She can walk. My DD takes the dog for a walk and picks Bria up and they walk home all the time. I will simply put the dog in the basket and the dog can walk home on the leash. My DH takes the scooter to the mailbox with the dog all the time. He has bad knees so he doesn't want to chance being away from the house if his knee gives out.
My sister arrives Tuesday so I am trying to get things ready for her. I'm not doing much—just washed her bedding and cleaned the bathroom and dusted and vacuumed the room. She understands that I am unable to keep things as sparkling as I used to. Of course, she has never known me without me having cancer so she doesn't know what I was like before my diagnosis. My BIL and SIL are coming over for tacos Wednesday night so they can meet her. It is all good.

Home from the bus stop safe and sound. It was a ten minute ride there and 10 back—easy. My DD is about to be released from the dentist so she is not home yet. I have no idea how it went.

Chris, I am glad you got your DGD home safely. I hope your DD is home by now and has good pain control.
I know you have a busy next few days with family visiting. I pray you have a wonderful time and can really feel good and enjoy your time with family.
Have a good night.
Love,
Nancy0 -
Chris, I'm glad you made the trek to the bus stop and back okay and also praying for your DD, that she is feeling much better. Praying that you have a wonderful time and feel very good with family visiting.
Nancy, praying that you are soon on top with health issues and feeling better.
We've had a couple nice rains to green things up. Praying for you Teka and Hershey that you are enjoying some spring weather too!
Love, Wheatfields

Teka, your daughter's weeping cherry tree is so pretty. Trees that do well on the East Coast have a difficult time surviving in my area. I wish more flowering trees were good options here.
Chris, how is your daughter doing? I hope the weather is cooperating in Colorado Springs and you and your half sister are enjoying quality time together.
Nancy, still praying you are on the mend and an ENT appointment soon opens up for you.
Wheatfields, spring rains are grand. I hope that more good moisture is headed your way.
My husband is meeting with a sleep specialist today. His appointment took many, many months to get insurance approval and then on the specialist's schedule. I'm hoping he leaves the appointment with an actionable plan.

Teka, love the picture of the weeping cherry tree. We drove through the Black Forest today in the rain on the way to my PT visit and everything is greening up! It is a lovely drive any time. (It is only a 12 mile drive which avoids a lot of traffic through town.) Lifted my spirits.
Candy, praying for a better outcome for your eyes. My vision is a little blurry even now after my cataract surgery 3 years ago, but it is a side effect of some of my medications. (You might ask yourMO.) But my vision has improved immensly since the surgery. I do wear bifocals if I have very small print or I am crocheting using dark yarn, but otherwise I don't need my glasses. I just notice accasional blurring which improves if I wear the glasses.
Hersheykiss, sending good vibes for your husband's sleep issue.
My DD's dental appointment went well and she is no longer in any pain. She said they were wonderful with her and it was a good experience. The prayers worked!
Tonight we are going to a special restaurant for my DD's birthday. They fix your meal at your table in the center of a cheese wheel, and you can only order it for two hours on two nights and they require a reservation. It is a small family-run restaurant and a little pricey, but should be fun. If you are interested you can google Black Forest Bistro

Hi everyone,
I could really use prayer. Cammie's monthly shot was today and I arranged with the vet clinic that I had been sick for quite a while and if I could just drive up and have someone come and pick Cammie up out of my car. They were fine with that as I have done this once before.
Cammie has been sleeping in her carrier the last few days and so I went upstairs to get her as it was time to leave. She was not in her carrier and was hiding. How in the world she knew we were going to the vet is beyond me. It is the first day I have been dressed in normal clothes for days. She was hiding under the bed. My vaccum cleaner is my way of getting her to come out but it was downstairs. I knew it was going to be difficult to get it upstairs and I am weak from not doing much. I somehow got it upstairs and was not feeling well at all after that. I have been lightheaded for the last few days. She did run out and got behind a heavy chair in my bedroom. I tried pulling the chair out and all of a sudden got extremely nauseated. I had to call the vet and cancel.
I only have two more antibiotic pills left and to be honest I don't really think it has done much. My ear pain was back today and I kept smelling this chemical smell (next door perhaps) and was giving me a furious headache.
I just don't know what to make of all of this but I feel awful. Many years ago in the 90's I had to have vocal cord surgery. I ended up getting an inner ear issue and I was dizzy for months and missed a lot of school. Even when I returned to school I continued to be dizzy for months afterwards. I am fearful that something like that is brewing.
I would appreciate your prayers.
Teka, I love the cherry tree. My crab apple trees are blooming now too.
Wheatfields, I know you are supposed to visit your sister soon. I hope that trip goes well. How are you doing with your sinus issues?
Chris, I am glad to hear your DD dental work went well and she is out of pain now. I hope you enjoy a nice birthday dinner with her. Sounds like a fun restaurant. I am guessing your family has arrived now too.
Hershey, I hope you are doing well. Is your DH enjoying his retirement? I remember when my Dad retired. My Mom was a stay at home Mom basically. It was an adjustment for her when he retired but the upside is she got as interested in the Chicago Cubs games as much as my Dad, who was a die hard fan, and they could watch the games together. She still followed the Cubs even after my Dad died.
Thanks for your prayers and concern. I definitley still need them.
Love,
Nancy

Oh Nancy, I'm so sorry that you're still feeling unwell. I've been praying that your ear pain and dizziness resolve soon.
Driving yourself to urgent care may be problematic under the circumstances. Does the clinic or your PCP's office offer virtual visits for patients?
Please take care. We are all here for you.

Hershey, thanks for your prayers and encouragement. I took my last antibiotic this afternoon. It is hard to explain but there is some improvement in my head. However the dizziness is not helping at all. I have to go pick up a prescription that has been waiting for me all week.
This place has no drive through and no delivery. I use two different pharmacys and this is not my main one who does deliver and has a drive through. This is in a grocery store and unfortuantely I am going to be hitting the rush hour.
I need to buy Mucinex which I never did get and see if that will help at all. I see my pcp on Tues for my annual wellness and I have to have blood work done on Monday. My pcp is aware that I have been on antibiotics and he wanted me to have them out of my system before I did the blood work. So I will have a lot to discuss with him at this visit. I have apts every single day this week and I just need to do a trial run and see how I do. The pharmacy is not that far from my house. I just hope I can get a little cart in the parking lot for some stability.
Thanks for your prayers. Have a great weekend.
Love,
Nancy

Nancy, I am praying that your ear and dizziness problems go away quickly with the end of the antibiotics, and that you made the drive without any problems. Daily prayers are being sent.
My sweet sister left for home today. I will miss her. We had a marvelous time together. The cheese wheel dinner experience last night was marvelous. The pasta was amazing. It was the best restaurant birthday celebration I have ever attended. The servers were the best. They sat us near the bar (It is a very small restaurant) and the bartender was funny and friendly. He even gave us a couple of sample "mocktails" that he created (we don't drink alcohol) just because it was our DDs birthday. (He created a key lime pie drink that had a bit of ginger in it—amazing!) They gave my DD a small box of chocolates and a free dessert. Apparently they send for the cheese wheel directly from Parma Italy so it is authentic parmigiano cheese. They prepare the pasta and sauce, then they pour it into the center "well" of the cheese to mix together. They scrape a little of the cheese into the pasta as they mix it. The 60 pound Parmigiano cheese wheel costs about $1000 (they are on a special list) and they can get about 500 meals from one wheel. They only do the cheese wheel four hours a week so it lasts about 3 months. So fun. You order an add-in to go with the pasta—anything from shrimp, truffles, broccolini, etc. I have included a picture. There are only a few places in the states that do this, but if you ever get the chance, I highly recommend it. Of course come visit me in Colorado Springs and we can go!

Chris, your birthday celebration for your DD sounded fantastic. I can't quite wrap my head around the cheeese wheel but it sounds interesting.
I am glad you had a good visit with your sister.
I made my first trip in the car to the pharmacy without knocking down any light poles or streets signs. I didn't run over anyone or hurt myself so it was a successful trip.
I have not felt nauseated as I did this morning and my dizziness was manageable. I asked one of the grocery cart attendants if he could give me a little cart so I was able to get through the parking lot with some stability. As I read up on the meds that I have taken the last many days they can cause dizziness. Prednisone withdrawal can also cause that and I suspect that might be the issue as it seem my dizziness started right after I took the last pill for that.
I am trying to handle my HOA duties. As I drove down to pick up my mail which had been sitting since a week ago Tues. my neighbor stopped me to say the landscaping crew didn't do any weed whacking around his house……………….and so the story goes for the next six months. Maybe if I just hide inside they won't find me to complain. LOL
I hope you have a great weekend. Thank you for your prayers. I don't think I could have made it today to the pharmacy without them from all of you who saw my post earlier.
Love,
Nancy

Dear ladies,
I just got home from the hospital yesterday and reading your posts now, I've been praying for each of you. I never did get to AZ to see my sister and BIL yet, I was to leave Saturday, but last Wednesday I was at the clinic with what they thought was sinus infection and got antibiotics and on Thursday back again for a scan of the sinuses, then on Friday my nurse friend I called at 1:30 in the morning and she took me to emergency and they gave me pain pills and sent me home, but by 7:00 I couldn't keep anything down, so we went back to the doctor in the afternoon and she admitted me to the hospital for observation. It turned out its the shingles on the left side of my face, and rash and blisters began to appear Saturday, I had iv pain meds until Monday and then we have it down to nerve pain pills now. So thankful for my own bed!
Nancy, praying for you that you begin to feel better. Also, Chris I'm so glad you had a wonderful time with your sister and your DD's birthday sounds wonderful and fun. Teka, I love that weeping cherry tree, we have a lot of flowering crab trees right now. Hershey, also many prayers for you and your DH.
Love and prayers,
Wheatfields

Wheatfields, so sorry to read about your shingles. They are terrible anytime but having them in the face must be worse. You encourage me to get my shingles vaccine!
Nancy, how are you feeling?
I have a CT scan this morning so gotta run. Blessings on your day everyone.

Wheatfields, I am so sorry to hear that you have shingles and had to be admitted to the hospital. Is your pain under control now? I have had shingles more than once but never on my face. I hope you got the meds for shingles right away. I do hope you can visit your sister once you get through this.
Chris, I hope your CT scan is good news. Yes, get your shingles vaccine. The one they have now is much more effective than the previous one from quite a few years ago.
I saw my pcp yesterday and the good news is my ear looks clear however I still have some pain and dizziness. I talked to the specialist scheduler that my doctor referred me to as far as trying to get into my ENT earlier and she called and was on hold. She said she would call if anything opened up. She did tell me that the May 28 date may be the best I can do now. I have a busy week but I am managing to get through it. I have to retake my metabolic panel due to kidney function I just found out today. I am hoping it is just a rehydrating issue which I have dealt with many times in the past.
Take care dear sisters. Cammie and I will be off to the vet again hopefully without incidence this time. My cellphone sim card either died or ??? so I have had no cell since Monday. Hard to imagine how we got by in the past. LOL I am going to the Geek Squad this evening to have them deal with the sim card and we'll see what happens.
Love
Nancy
