Chris, Cammie says thank you. I have taught her to read among other things. LOL
Did you have your MRI? If I am following the timeline it looks like you might have had it today but being a Sunday not sure about that. I am praying for you no matter what day. I know the results are of course the most important thing. I deal with fatigue so I completely understand cleaning house in intervals. I clean my house over the course of a few days. I am sure your company will be more interested in you and your family than if they see a speck of dust.
I don't know how your bc drug works but is there a possibity that it takes some time for your body to adjust and then you might feel less side effects? I sure hope that is the case.
I know your DH took a long time to get over his sickness. I have a very full week ahead with all the apts I rescheduled. I sure hope I am up to it. I have had a killer headache that seems to go and then it comes back. I just feel very washed out and hoping my energy will come back soon.
BTW I consider Cammie living to 17 as a miracle when I didn't think she would make it to 16. The marvels of veterinary medicine defintely helps too. I can't imagine life without her so I am trying to enjoy each day with her and consider it a gift.
Take care.
Love,
Nancy

Happy Birthday Cammie! Nancy praying that you are feeling better and up to appointments this week! Cammie is so beautiful ~ thank you for sharing a picture!
Chris, praying for a good MRI report and that your side effects are at a very minimum.

Thanks Teka for the pretty banner for Cammie. She thinks it is beautiful!!!
Wheatfields, thank you. Cammie and I have had a long run and I hope it keeps going. She has another skin infection due to her monthly arthritis shots so I need to talk to her vet since her shot is due on Thursday. How are you feeling and doing with your sinus issues? I am starting my usual routine so we'll see how that goes.
Chris, continued prayers for you.
Hershey, how are you doing?
Love,
Nancy

Happy Belated Birthday, Cammie! I'm sorry I missed your special day. My, what beautiful blue eyes you have. You are a pretty kitty indeed!
Chris, so thankful for your clear MRI results. What a relief to receive such great news.
Nancy, I hope your headaches subside and you make all your appointments this week. It can get overwhelming when appointments begin to stack up.
We've been busy meeting with our lawyer and financial advisor. The advisor said he has clients who meet with him every month and then asked if we wanted to set up regular monthly meetings with him. Oh my, no thank you! We have enough appointments on our schedules already! 🙃

Thank you Hershey. Cammie is worn out from the big party with all of her neighborhood kitty friends. LOL I had a Himalayan cat for 16 yrs before Cammie and she also was white, long haired with blue points and had blue eyes. Cammie is a Ragdolll breed but from the back she looks very much like my previous cat.
I did my grocery shopping today and came home and was not feeling well at all. So after eating lunch I ended up falling asleep for a few hours. I finally decided to give in and take more Tylenol. I really hate to depend on that unless absolutely necessary as I have taken a lot of it over time.
Wow, I don't think I have ever heard of a financial advisor setting up monthly meetings. In our current climate of uncertainty it does make it very difficult to know how to manuever the financials. I just heard on a program tonight that the SSA offices that were going to close got so much push back that they have changed their minds again and are going to stay open. I even saw a short list of them but I couldn't read it fast enough. I am waiting with bated breath to see if my SS deposit comes in on time this month. Then I am going to make some financial decisions.
I have had some phone weird calls. I would say 6 or 7 calls at least coming from what says my pharmacy name on my caller ID. Some numbers are legit and some are from other area codes but they all say this pharmacy. The one time they left a message it was from a pharmacist wondering how I was doing on my meds. I am not taking any new meds so this felt like a red flag for sure. I have not felt like going to this pharmacy to talk with someone but I am pretty certain this is a scam where they have spoofed their phone number.
I am always very careful when recycling pill bottles that I take a permanent marker and cover all the info on the bottle. I know that with the SSA situation with the DOGE team accessing personal data which I understand included medical records I can't help but think maybe there is a connection here. This is my same phone number I had issues with a couple years ago when my local bank number was spoofed and I was getting repeated calls from them. Then shortly after is when one of my online banks was broken into ( figuratively) and they were trying to withdraw a very large sum of money and luckily their fraud dept caught it. When I got my local police involved they later called and said that just know now they have your phone number they will try again to scam you because once they have tried and not succeeded they will sell my number back to the dark web. All very scary stuff.
So anyone reading this beware and stay on guard. I never answer my phone unless I know who it is but in this case I am not answering my phone at all. Luckily I didn't answer the very first time.
I hope you have a good week.
Love,
Nancy

Nancy, our pharmacy (Walgreens) calls quite regularly but always leaves voicemails. Most calls involve vaccinations or a medication to pick up or refill. You are wise to question repeated phone calls that leave no messages. I too would be suspicious if no voicemails were left, especially coming from an alleged business line.
I subscribe to Social Security Matters, . I've found the blog items to be informative, helpful, and up-to-date. When we were shopping for a financial advisor, one person commented, "What is going to happen to Social Security? Nothing!" On the other hand, concern was expressed for our state pension fund. The legislature continues to raid the fund to pay for other programs, and money has never been paid back in full. Also, our advisor is encouraging us to request IRS Identity Protection PINs to prevent someone else from using our SSNs to file federal tax returns.
I am praying that your headache subsides with good sleep and a Tylenol. Take good care.

Teka, your post made me smile!
Hershey, I did have one voicemail and they even said their name who was supossedly the pharmacist. However the message recorded a strange name for the pharmacy. That is the message asking how I was doing on my meds which I have taken for years and no new meds. I know my pharmacy is so over worked I find it hard to believe they have time to send out a personal message just because. I will look into this when I am feeling better. That is good info on both the SS and the pin number. I will definitely look into that as I already know my SS number has been found on the dark web. One of my neighbors who used to be an IT for 3M said everyone's SS number is on the dark web. I don't know if she was being sarcastic or if she really believed that but I wasn't sure how to protect myself. I heard you could put a lock on your SS number but I didn't know if that would prevent you from getting your monthly benefits.
I am still not feeliing well. Today I have had not only the headache coming back but a sore throat and an ear ache. I made it through my Bible Study tonight really not feeling up to it but since it is zoom I knew I could tough it out.
Have a good night dear sisters.
Love,
Nancy

Thank you Hershey. If I had not had an apt with Best Buy I would have gone to urgent care but my bad earache I woke up with is better after Tylenol. I have a Zagg glass shield installed on the front of my cellphone. Recently my phone slid off the arm of my chair and hit a plate I had put down next to my chair and it hit that plate and shattered the glass shield. I could not find any at Best Buy locally or online so I purchased a new one from Amazon. I have a Best Buy membership and talked to them early last week and asked if I needed an apt to have it installed as I was told they will install for free if you have a membership. I had to reschedule twice because of sickness. So today was the day to finally get it finally installed. I thought a phone specialist was going to install it and the older man that took me next was the same guy that has worked on my computers but he doesn't project the air of confidence. He is more like a nice grandpa figure. So when I said they told me a phone specialist would do this he said we are all specialists. I didn't feel really good about it. He took it to the back room and came out and said he broke it. He told me he tried to install it upside down! I have to say most guys would have not admitted that so I gave him a lot of credit for being honest. The only thing he could offer was to contact Zagg and ask for a replacement. I was so disappointed but tried to be as nice as I could. He offered me nothing since I didn't buy it from them. I know he felt bad and I felt bad but I can't believe that this is their policy. I am not the type to have a fit in public over such a thing but if I had it may have been a different outcome especially considering the thousands of dollars I have spent there over the years.
So I just came home and thankfully Amazon had only one left in stock and I got it. Going through the hassle of trying to get it replaced for free was not worth it to me besides the cost of shipping it.
Could I have done anything differently? He did say when you get another one bring it back and he said I'll have someone else put it on. I think that one is a no brainer.
Life's little challenges!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love,
Nancy

Nancy, wow, that is some story! I can't believe he didn't ask for help if he struggled to do it. I think I would have contacted the manager whether you bought it there or not… Not to be mad, but to inform them for future practice.
I just received another month's supply of my former chemo medicine so I am going through hoops to try to give to an organization that will use it. My oncology office sent me to a website but I am not sure that will work in this case because it is an oral chemo, and worth thousands of dollars, (at east $12,000.) I don't want to just take it to any pharmacy. The lady on the phone told me once I receive it the medicine is mine and they don't take it back. Medicare paid for it. I won't do anything illegal, but the next time I am at the oncology office I will take it to the hospital pharmacy and see if they have a place to donate it.

Chris, your story tops mine for sure not that it is a contest!!!! I sure hope Medicare won't give you any hassles regarding paying for the chemo you are supposed to be on. It is just insane the price of these cancer drugs. I am glad Medicare is paying for it.
I just checked my phone and it said Best Buy has canceled your apt. What????????? I tried to call them and tried to do a chat. I gave up. I just didn't want them to think I was irresponsible. I also wanted to know why they thought my apt was canceled. I was there 25 min ahead of my apt because we have had bad storms and I went in between the storms. I guess the guy didn't fill out any paperwork on my apt. What was he going to say???
How are you feeling? It is these types of things that make your life more complicated than it needs to be. I hope you have a good night and can not be too stressed over this.
Love,
Nancy

Nancy, my oncologist office provided a number to contact an organization that takes back these meds. They will send me a label so it won't cost me anything. Also, I have already paid my $2000 medicine deductable for this year so I should be able to receive the rest of my medicine at no cost. It is just going knowing the right hoops to go through.
You surely go through a lot of IT problems. I remember some of them you told us before. I just let my DH handle all IT issues. And by BIL who lives here in town is an expert so I am lucky.
I am actually feeling pretty well all things considered. I have been a hurting all over the last couple of days but that is from my infusion I had done on Monday. It should clear up tomorrow. Hopefully this new medicine continues to be fairly easy and is not cumulative, and that it does its job.

Oh, Nancy. What a disappointment at Best Buy. Only offering to have another technician work on your phone next time is customer NO service. Chris makes a good point about contacting the store manager (or even corporate) regarding your experience.
Chris, the cost of these drugs is just staggering. I'm glad that your doctor's office has a lead to return the medication.

Hershey, yeah it was. I carry my phone in my back pocket because I use an app to count my steps. I tried doing that after the glass was broke that that was a big mistake. So not being able to accurately keep my step count was very frustrating. This tech tried to convince me that Samsung phones are very strong. He even let his drop on the table which was in my opinion a very foolish thing to do. I do feel like my phone is sort of naked without that glass and I did drop my phone which I rarely do but it was on the carpet. This man said ir I could pay for it myself I woule but I can't. I have thought this through several times as my new glass has arrived and I have been hesitant to make another apt there. I would like to talk to a manager but I really don't want to get this worker in trouble because I have a feeling he desperately needs this job. He is good about computers but if he would have just spoken up and said I'll get one of the younger guys to help on this it would probably been fine. I don't know if I could speak to a manager and just say I don't want to get the guy in trouble but….. If I would have had a new model of phone I could have been out around $60 but my phone is maybe 3 yrs old and the glass was much cheaper but I do know that is not the whole point of this fiasco too. So I will deal with it next week. I am using my phone in my back pocket so that is an improvement. Each day I have to decide if I am going to go to urgent care regarding my ear or not. I have managed the last couple of days thinking maybe I will be okay. I am hoping that is the case.
I did hear a politician just recently say his mother's SS check was late this month. I am guessing he was talking about April. UGH I get mine on Wed so I'm waiting with bated breath esp. after taking a blood bath with my retirment savings.
Chris, I hope you are feeling better now. I am praying that you will be able to tolerate this new drug and manage the side effects where you can have a good quality of life!!!!
I hope everyone has a good rest of the weekend.
Love,
Nancy

Nancy, my husband and I listened to an interview on Friday night with an economist. He was asked how long this financial downturn could last. His response was, "Not long." The rationale is that midterms are next year, Trump doesn't want to lose the House, so his team will quickly move to change economic policies. I hope the man's opinion is correct.
My husband is scheduled to receive his first Social Security payment next week, and mine is scheduled for the following week. I must say that I am pleased that SSA will no longer make bank account changes over the phone. When I called SSA to apply for benefits, I was asked a series of questions to confirm my identity. They were very basic questions and not terribly secure or difficult. Any identity thief worth their salt could have easily answered them.
I think it's great that you use an app on your phone to count steps. My husband installed one on his previous phone, and it was quite accurate. Now we just use my Fitbit since we walk together.

Teka, I am doing okay. I have been busy with a new Bible study with a lot of homework again. It is very good but I am not getting some things done in the house that need attending. My ear has not been as bad as it was so I am waiting to see if it is going to stay that way!!! Hope you are enjoying this spring. We had snow yesterday so I don't think that is supposed to show up in April but oh well!!!
Hershey, I was just watching a newcast with a politician who is trying to help her constituents who have not been able to get through to Social Security. She said if things continue like they have been she is planning a lawsuit against the current administration. Apparently the SSA website keeps crashing and many cannot get through to even file.Apparently there was a long line of people waiting to get into a SS office only to have someone come out and say come back after you have an apt. I am supposed to get my deposit tomorrow so we'll see.
I had some hope that maybe tariffs would reverse course today but obviously the minute our leader spoke the market crashed again. I have listened to many points of view on this whole thing. There is some thought that our leader doesn't care about midterms because he is planning on interfering with that election process. In his campaigning I heard him say that you will not have to vote anymore because we have it all taken care of. I have heard today that one political strategist has said that if he thinks he is going down he will pull the whole country down with him. He does respond to pressure and this past Saturday and all the protests should have been enough pressure. I think the protests are planned again soon so we'll see. I asked our Bible Study tonight to pray for our country because I believe we are in a world of hurt. I know God has a plan. He always does even though we many times don't see His hand working until after the fact. We are studying Esther again with a new author and the whole book of Esther never mentions the word God at all but you can see His hand in all of it. I imagine that is what is happening with our country now. Circumstances, very different but God saving His people, very much the same.
We'll see what happens. God is still in control.
Chris, how are you feeling?
Wheatfields, how are you doing?
Have a good night everyone.
Love,
Nancy

Nancy, I don't usually comment about politics but I agree that we are in trouble. My fear is people think it will just all go away, but they aren't looking at history. We can't just close our doors and hide…
I am handling the new meds okay. I still have lots of fatigue and aches and pains among other things, but we are watching things to see if my body will stabilize. The good news is my half-sister is coming for a visit at the end of the month. I am sure I will enjoy it.
I am glad you are feeling better and I pray your ear keeps improving.
Blessings, Chris

Chris I am so happy about your clear MRI results - Praise the Lord! And we are praying that you soon are feeling better with the new meds and enjoy company the end of the month.
Nancy, praying that your ear is better and that you are feeling better too!
Teka and Hershey - praying for you too!
I'm doing pretty well and hope to travel to visit my sister and BIL in early May. My nurse friend is feeling real tired again from not good sleep at night,
Love and prayers,
Wheatfields

Hershey, my SS deposit came very early this morning. I was so relieved after wondering if I was supposed to do something different with my identity proof protocol. Now I am going to decide if I want to contest my amount. They could figure it again and it might come out worse so we'll see. I hope you and your husband gets yours on time too. I never in a million years would have predicted that WEP would be erased so it is really a blessing.
Chris, I never talk politics either but I think we are now in an unprecendented time that no one should be burying their head in the sand. We as Christians need to be praying every day as it seems each days brings more dire concerns. I am glad your half sister is coming for a visit this month. I am praying all the time that your new med will work and give you many more years of good quality life.
Teka, I am glad 2023 is behind you!! Your banner is SO true. I still have some winter gloves in my front seat of my car. When I thought why are they still here then the weather turned back to winter and I knew why.
Wheatfields, I pray for good weather coming up as you travel to visit your sister. Glad you are doing pretty well. I am sorry to hear about your friend. I got to bed early this morning and then couldn't sleep. It is very frustrating so I sympathize with your friend. I have explored many things and what I have been doing has been working most of the time but not always.
Have a good day everyone.
Love,
Nancy

Nancy, I'm so very happy that you received your Social Security check on time. Seeing that deposit arrive must have been such a relief. Like you, I never expected a repeal of WEP and GPO. For many years, our state pension fund cast doubt on any repeal or modification of the provisions. I'm so thankful that after 40 years, both penalties were repealed.
Wheatfields, I will pray for good weather as you travel to and from Arizona. I'm sorry your nurse friend is still dealing with sleep struggles. Slumber is elusive for many people, and I pray that your nurse friend finds restful sleep soon.
Teka, we're expecting an April heatwave this week and next. It may be time to put away our winter gear.
Chris, a visit this month from your half sister sounds lovely. We'll pray for good weather and safe travels.
I had my six-month Prolia injection yesterday. When I arrived at the infusion center, the receptionist told me that a pipe had burst over the weekend and the room was "crowded." Was it ever. Chairs were positioned inches apart, and various medical supplies were stacked floor to ceiling throughout the center. The nurse who administered my injection said that many supplies were damaged or destroyed and needed to be replaced. Thankfully, no patients had to reschedule their chemo or injection appointments (some people were being escorted by aides to other areas of the hospital for treatment). It was sad to learn that medical supplies had to be discarded, but the nurses seemed to be taking everything in stride and were as patient and kind as ever.
I hope everyone is enjoying a good day.

Wow Nancy, glad you were able to still get your Prolia injection. After hearing stories from my nurse daughter I am more appreciative of nurses than ever.
Wheatfields, praying today for your nurse friend too.

Teka, my grandmothers baked hot cross buns at Easter. Both were excellent bakers. Bread, rolls, buns, pies, cakes … name it, and they baked it. Sadly, I did not inherit their baking genes. I'm more the crockpot and casserole kind of gal. Set it, and forget it. Crockpot meatloaf, anyone?! 😉
0 -
HI ladies,
I must be living under a rock because I had to google hotcross buns. Of course I have heard of them, never had any and didn't know exactly what they were. They do sound delicious.
Okay, I give Teka permission to tell me I told you so. I finally went to urgent care on Sunday. I had hopes that it was only fluid on the ear but it was infected. I am on a few things now and I don't feel well but the PA told me I was not contagious when I asked her as I have a really busy week with medical apts and vet app and Good Friday service.
I would appreciate prayers to feel better. I am going to ask you to pray for Adair one of my neighbors. I will go into the whole thing later as I am to pick up a chicken at a certain time today. She fell down her stairs (her house is exactly like mine). Long story short for now……………she broke her neck. I spent the afternoon with her on Thursday at the rehab facility she is now in. She will need to regain feeling in her hands before she will ever be allowed to go back to her home.
I do need to scoot. Check back later.
Love,
Nancy

Nancy, so glad to hear you are getting help with your ear. I will continue to pray you feel better so you can manage and enjoy your busy week. I will also add Adair to my prayer list.

Thank you Chris. How are you feeling?

Nancy, I am doing okay. This new med is a bit easier but I am also no longer getting the Faslodex shots which were always troublesome. I have a little bit of a cold, but it seems mild. I am just very fatigued and light-headed. I am sure it will pass soon. I still have no energy to go out and do anything. I'm waiting on the warmth to come and encourage me to get outside. Thanks for asking.
0 -
Chris, I am glad to hear your new med is a bit easier. That is great that you don't have to have those shots anymore. I hope you can get rid of your cold too. I thought I was going to be able to just jump in with all of my apts this week but when I got home from the grocery store I started to feel very sick with nausea. I was very late eating my typical salad for lunch and after I ate my salad I felt better. I haven't had trouble with antibiotics in quite a long time and I only started taking them yesterday so I am not quite so sure I will be able to handle all my apts.
Thank you for your prayers for Adair. I bought her an orchid today so I am not sure when I will see her next. Her rehab facility is quite a drive with traffic and it is out of town. I told her I wanted to buy her one but I wanted to see her room first to see if an orchid would survive. She told me that she lost all of her orchids and I know they were a great source of pride and joy for her. Then she said you could get me one to start my new collection. I will tell you more about her later. She is a survivor if ever I saw one.
I pray for you all the time and I will pray that you can get rid of your cold and that you won't be so fatigued. Thank you for your prayers for me as well.
Take care dear sister.
Love,
Nancy

Nancy, we will be praying for Adair and also for you as you recover from your ear infection, praying that the nausea you felt has subsided and disappears. Chris, praying that your new meds continue to be easier on you and you soon are over your cold. So thankful you don't need the injections anymore.
Hotcross buns, I've heard of them but don't believe I've ever had one. Wasn't there a poem or rhyme about hot cross buns?
I'm going with my nurse friend to a new primary care doctor tomorrow (her's is retiring) and so praying for some new light on being able to sleep well and feeling better.
Praying for each of you!
Love, Wheatfields
