Jumping back in here after a long hiatus. This time last year I was 144, and as of Wednesday I am 156.5 Months of yoga pants and comfort eating has been my downfall. Rejoined Weight watchers online, I have had success with in person meetings in the past, but even though they have opened back up in our state, I'm still not comfortable doing that yet. So will need extra accountability to stay on track!

I think I have to wait until after the election to get serious about the food. I am too crazy-stressed about everything until then. I do exercise a lot, which is my only saving grace!

Pat that range is almost exactly the same as me. The yoga pants and comfort eating too! I was up on the weekend and ate too much, and even my yoga pants were starting to feel uncomfortable so I have started a really strict 2 week “circuit breaker” diet which I’m now in day 3 of. Amazing I’ve lost 5 lbs in the last 2 days but was up before that so over the week I’m down 3.5lbs. I start to feel better as soon as I restrict my food. I wish I could be sensible, but seem to have a natural all or nothing kind of attitude. I frustrate myself! I was up late watching US election. Managed to stick to diet though

The pitfalls of wearing yoga pants all the time (I'm retired) is that it works both ways - been following weight watchers for 1 week, and was sure I had not lost an ounce by the way my pants were feeling - Haha, got on the scale this morning and lost 3.5 lbs! So now at 153 hoping to head back down to goal weight of 140 (which I have not seen in years, got close last fall (144), but 140 would put me in healthy BMI range). DH is dieting with me and also had good results, so that encourages us to stick with it.

down a pound, probably because this election stuff makes me too nervous to eat (a very rare occurence!).

I have a 2 lb range and am in the middle of that. I'm not trying to lose, just trying to maintain. DH is on his sneaky diet again. He's giving me larger portions than his and eating very very slowly. He'll never say he's on a diet, but I've learned to read the signals.

Mind if I jump in? I like to scroll the posts and see what is the "latest". I think you ladies are the best! I track my weight daily on an Excel spreadsheet. My last scale, which weighed in .5 increments, died a few years ago and I replaced with one that weighs in .2 pound increments. I honestly thought it would drive me nuts, but I actually like it. I have my spreadsheet color coded, like for my all time high, all time low, the day I see my oncologist, etc.

Anyway, I had been able to get my weight down to where I was happy, then Covid and a Staqge IV diagnosis hit, new medications, blah, blah, blah, and I gained about 8 pounds. It goes up and down, but I'm trying to watch what I eat and get my daily steps in. I got an under-desk elliptical machine which helps with my steps. The pain in my hips and spine has reduced my outside walking, but the elliptical does help. I can pedal while watching a Hallmark movie! How great is that?

Anyway, it's been fun to read your posts this morning. Happy Tuesday, everyone!

    Carol

Hi Sunshine great to have you on board with us. I have been on an extreme diet and am down 4lbs this week. It’s getting boring though. I am planning to stay on it until Sunday, but might have a treat on Friday if the weather is nice. There is an amazing ice cream place that serves the best sundaes ever, and if it is nice weather we are planning to take the dog to the beach and we will be temptingly close to this place. I’ll report back next week

Welcome Sunshine! I used to record my weight daily, but it started to drive me nuts with all the up and down. So now I just do once a week (Wednesday), and if I have been bad on the weekend I can try to atone for my sins before weigh in Wednesday! This morning I am 152.5 - down 1 lb since last week. Going in the right direction - I'll take it!

I'm at the top of my allowed bounce range, so back to being much more careful.

Same as last week...after bouncing for a month or more, I have stayed at the high bounce! UGH, TT

I have been avoiding the scale this week and have doubled down on good eating and staying in my calorie goal. I will weigh tomorrow and hope that the scale is kinder to me than it was over the weekend when I last weighed.

I am still stuck, but not going up anyway.

I managed to avoid the ice cream last week, and was very proud that I stuck to my extreme diet for 2 weeks. I too am stuck at exactly the same as last week, after being down 3 on Monday, I gaine back those 3lbs after 1 day of feasting and have now started alternate day fasting so will see what happens next week. I am at the very top of the healthy BMI range, and want to gradually move into the middle of that range.

I am down 3 this week, after ballooning to a high I haven't seen in three years....still a long way to go, but heading in the right direction. Hopefully can make some progress ahead of next week and Thanksgiving. TT

Down 1 this week to 151.5, so 5 lbs down total. Definitely can feel it in my pants. But this week will be tough, old friends visiting for a few days, their daughter lives near us and they haven't seen her in almost a year. Even though most of their time will be spent with her, I'm sure there will be extra eating and drinking at our house when they are not with her. But I'm good with that, and will try to get back on track when they leave Sunday.

Down .5 from last week. I think running out of Halloween candy was helpful. I would still like to lose another pound before Thanksgiving.

Down 2 pounds this week. I have a long way to go but am happy to head in the right direction. A bit worried about Thanksgiving throwing me off but for now taking it a day at a time and building on success.

Good for you cm2020! It's always good to see numbers headed the right way. If Thanksgiving leads you astray, just start right back in the next day.

I learned on another discussion forum that Ruthbru is ill with Covid. Sending wishes for recovery.

Hi, I'm here! Yes, I have Covid... despite the fact that I have been as careful possible....I haven't been in a restaurant since March, I've stayed away from events, gone to church online, not had people over or gone to anyone's house, haven't traveled, gone to the store just once a week in gloves and a mask, carry hand sanitizer everywhere etc. etc. etc. I have ZERO idea how I could have gotten it, but I did. I had a fever, cough, was achy, tired, had no appetite or taste; and so spent 6 days swallowing Tylenol, eating chicken noodle soup, chugging water, and sleeping. Yesterday my fever finally broke and I started feeling better, so hopefully I've rounded the corner. My quarantine ends Sunday but I will hang low for awhile after that for sure. I have lost a couple pounds because food tastes awful, but I wouldn't recommend it as a weight loss program!!!

Oh no, I am up 2lbs despite having fasted for 3 days this week. I am feeling slimmer though, so am going to assume this is a blip. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, and Ruthbru I hope you are well on the way to complete recovery

Down 1 from last week. This is my goal weight. Maybe I won't weigh Friday.

I was sprung from quarantine on Monday. I am feeling pretty good, just a little cough and no taste yet ...actually my tongue tastes like someone poured pepper on it. It makes eating very uninteresting and as a result I have lost 7 of my 10 quarantine pounds (not a diet plan I would recommend!). Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!

Ruth that is very good news (that you are feeling well) and the weight loss just goes to show that every cloud has a silver lining!

Down 2lbs this week, which takes me back to where I was 2 weeks ago. I’m OK with that. I would prefer to lose weight, but if I can’t manage that, not gaining it is a good start!
