191 down just a smidge from previous low back in November. Down 2 lbs from last weeks unhappy bounce. Still have period weight gain even with no period wth?

You made me laugh JV. When the weight started piling on me I remember telling a friend that I was up 8 pounds but maybe it's water weight. She laughed and said "No, 2 or 3 pounds are water weight, 8 pounds are not!" She was right...many many more pounds have piled on.

Cindy - My first chemo treatment put me into instant chemopause and I never had another period. But I swear that for several months after that, I would gain a couple of pounds and feel bloated at about the same time each month, then a few days later I'd drop back down. I figured that even though the body couldn't muster up enough energy to go through a full blown cycle, parts of the body were still "revving up" each month, so to speak. It finally stopped after a year or so.

Up 100 grams. Not as bad as I thought it would be. And after all those cookies. Yay!

Down 1.3 - I haven't weighed in for a few weeks since I had that suture abscess in my ab that totally flared my LE - at one point I gained 5 pounds in just a few weeks, much of it being truncal LE fluid. Had surgery a week ago to remove the suture abcess and have dropped 3.5 pounds since then, so I'm figuring that was most of the LE fluid. I think the rest of it must be all the holiday cookies, so I'll have to work that off myself!

Up 1 lb to 163. Not too bad considering all the christmas occasions and lazy willpower. I will skip weighing next week as the kids will still be home, so my next wednesday weigh in will be after new years. Hope I can at least keep it the same, but I know that probably won't happen. So New Years will bring a renewed effort to shed some pounds (along with the rest of the world) - and I do have a goal, my daughter is getting married in June so I'd like to be a little more svelte for all those pictures!

Waaah! Up 3 from last week. Dumb cookies. But considering that we had family staying here all weekend plus two parties I'm not too shocked. No more special events now....so back to work! I usually fluctuate around 5 lbs during Thanksgiving/Christmas. Bleh.
Target date for some visible improvement is my birthday near the end of January.0 -
Up .4 (notice the decimal point this time), which is good considering all of the parties I've been attending. I have eaten terribly but have kept up with the exercise, which helps.

Down 1.1, which is not bad since I have not weighed in since the end of November (because I knew there would only be gains!) Have been able to keep up with excercising, but the eating has gotten a little out of control!! Still, without the excercising, things would have been much, much worse. I know that I will be able to get back on track in the new year, but am still pretty happy with the small loss in the last month!
Just want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Holiday Season! Will most likely not weigh in again next week, but am planning on staying on track next year!!

OK - I'm the first post-Christmas weigh in and it's not pretty - up 1.8 pounds! Not surprising at all - my b-day was Christmas Eve and we had a feast to celebrate, and repeated the process on Christmas. It would have been worse if I hadn't kept up with exercise, so at least I was good about that. So back to routine now, but it was a glorious couple of days!

Well, for weeks I managed to avoid most of the Christmas parties with groaning tables of sweets, but on Christmas Eve I made some white chocolate-cranberry-toasted almond bark, and on Christmas day, I ate half the pan all by myself!!! Oh, it was SO good!!!!
And not only did I eat half the candy all by myself, I managed to snack all day long, and eat more for dinner than I usually do. And I was glad I did! That was my holiday treat, and now that Christmas is over, I have to go back to my plan. It was nice to have a splurge, but that's what it was.
I've stayed off the scale... I have to go to my Weight Management program tomorrow night for weigh in, so we'll get the news there. It's a holiday Open House, with low-calorie snacks, and games, and a chance to mingle with others in the program - veterans who have graduated and newbies who are just starting.
I've already planned my outfit: my lightest weight top, flimsy leggings, faux-Ugg boots that I'll take off before I get on the scale, and a big white sweater to put on AFTER I weigh in!!!
(Oh, haven't exercised...had planned to go back to the 94 degree therapy pool, but I seem to have a "spitting suture" that has opened up a hole in my four month old incisions.... )

Yeah, well....weight....
Up half a pound. Not bad, considering that I ate a pound and a half of white-chocolate/cranberry/toasted almond bark all by myself in the past three days!!!
But since I'd gone a bit below my goal weight with the last upper respiratory infection I got, I'm still at goal even with the gain.
I'd say I was going back to the therapy pool and work it off, but it seems I have developed two "spitting sutures", and of course, no pool for me. WAAAAA!
Where's the rest of that white chocolate stuff????

Blessings - I had a lot of issues with spitting sutures too. I turns out my body has more problems with the multifilament braided sutures than with monofilament sutures. During my last surgery, the PS used just monifilament sutures, and I had no troubles at all. She said that should I have any future surgeries I should ask the surgeon to use monofilament suturing materials. You may want to ask your surgeon about what kinds of sutures were used and if another kind might be better for you in the future.

NatsFan - how long after your surgery did you develop the "spitting sutures?" I am four months out from my Exchange...needless to say, I was freaked out at holes opening up in my incision lines at this late date! I will definitely ask the PS what kind of sutures he used.... thanks for the heads-up!!!

Unfortunately, I saw that half a pound of white chocolate/cranberry/toasted almond bark sitting there this morning and thought..... "Hmmmmm...weigh-in was last night....I can totally finish this off today and still get back on track before next week!" So I ate it. Thank you for offering, though, dear friend!!!!

ugh ok doing my PT today before work half done with that and took a break. I am sipping a fat free coco put that in my weight watcher tracker to get my head in track mode. Ok gonna plan the days meals and add them now. I did not weigh in this week but going on monday night.
wren I am impressed it's not as easy time to maintain no less actually lose weight. Good for you.
Last night I caved and ate 5 chocolate covered cherries. They were half off at CVS . . . ugh

I spent "the 12 days of Christmas" sitting at Mom's bed side at the hospital here in Rapid and the the hospital in Billings, MT that she was transfered to. Very, very little exercise. But also, not a lot of temptation. I took my cooler full of "healthy stuff", apples, nuts, yogurt, cheese, etc., and lived on that. So...
189.8 tada! Down under x9x for the first time in many years. Loss for the last 3 weeks is about 2 lbs, total since June - 39 lbs. Goal is another 61 lbs to go (althogh the doctor says thats too much he says it's 10-15 lbs too much, so we'll just have to play that by ear when we get closer to it)
I don't recommened the hospital visitors diet, but hey whatever works.

Carrol2 - Is WW still doing the point system? I was so happy when they did that...I remember having Junior Mints and diet root beer for dinner, and still staying under my daily points. (Oh, yeah, the healthy food part.... well, I wasn't exactly following THAT.... ) I have to be so careful around those 50% off or worse, 75% off tables. Candy just seems to leap into my cart when I'm not looking!
Cindyl - so sorry to hear about your mom...how is she doing? Congratulations on the weight loss so far! That is very impressive, and kudos to you for planning ahead and stocking your cooler with healthy snacks.

Thanks Blessings. Mom is doing about as well as could be expected, which is not very well. She's going to need "flap" surgery to repair her pressure sore, then she will need to spend 3 weeks on her sides (no back laying or sitting.) Then assuming she's well enough, she'll start pt to get strong enough to sit up and regain as much use of her hands and arms as she can. But she's a strong woman and we hope she'll come through this.

hi ladies, this post is either early or late depending on your viewpoint.
Just back from vacation in FL visiting with family. This year was so much better than last year, which I spent at the hospital with my mom who was having heart problems (A-fib and CHF). She remembers nothing from last year, not even my post-chemo short hair. Sorry, Cindy, I can relate and it's a crappy way to spend the holiday. Hope your next Christmas is better.
Read a book mom ordered through Prevention magazine - "Lose the Wheat, Lose the Weight" by William Davis, MD. He practices preventive cardiology in Milwaukee WI. After the first few chapters, I drastically reduced the amount of wheat I was eating. Don't know if it's cause & effect but I have finally broken through that plateau! Stepped on the scale when I got home yesterday and was at 169.2 - YAY! Now to keep it up (or down, as the case may be).
Walked at least 45 minutes every day and logged 44.88 km = 27.89 miles during the trip.

WooHOO Badger!!!! Congratulations on breaking through that plateau!
I try to avoid wheat like the plague...ever since I found my fibromyalgia pain went away when I went gluten-free...
But it's EVERYWHERE! So kudos to you for being able to reduce it in your diet.
