Binney - I haven't tried the wearease but I thought I found just the right one (amoena compression)

    http://www.metromedicalonline.com/amoena2863.html

BUT the band at the bottom is too long and it rolls on me Undecided.  Going back to the fitter tomorrow - she said we would try something else. At least I can exchange it there and not be stuck with a bra I can't use.

Also, My LE T found a way to make sure it doesn't cut on the side in the underarm Wink. He helped me make a little pad that actually takes my underarm swelling away.  This is great conversation! keep it coming.

    Gma

It may well be that the O2 sensor just aggravated a your hand as it might have on a  NON LE person ( we cant know!)  Having said that, I would feel exactly the same concern that you do.  How does it look now that some time has passed ?

You asked a Q ...what to do?

MLD!  I would do an MLD session , paying very close attention to that hand.  Focus on the hand.  Then I would put  a glove on.

    That is JMHO!
    Good Luck.

Hi ladies.....they were LE kids, and the LE therapist saw them several times a week....it had to be evening because of homework and school.....no time for adults at night.....we are located near Philly which is a big city, so Philly people who are on the outskirts of the suburban hospital come our way. It's closer, and no huge parking lot fees. If you park in Philly at night it is $15.00 to $20.00. Trust me these people can't afford that, thus our LE rehab has no fee.....

Beatmon - It took me longer to get to sleep but at 1am they said I met the criteria and they got good information... we will put the CPAP on now for the rest of the night. Thank goodness I brought my own mask.. Got to sleep in until 6:15 LOL.. While checking out they told me it would be 2 weeks before I get results and use my CPAP until then.

Purple here are 2 pictures - you tell me how it looks - it is more swollen than it was this morning - Just wondering, being a bruise, and if I remember right, I shouldn't where my glove or sleeve??

Beatmon - they reviewed my video and really couldn't come up with anything that would cause the bruise unless pulling on the cable from the O2 sensor.  Who knows but it isn't a happy camper and this hand, even though it is the bad side, as never been swollen.. I was always so careful.

Sorry GMA- WTH did they have it on your LE side ?  ( Grrrrr!)

    As for :
Just wondering, being a bruise, and if I remember right, I shouldn't where my glove or sleeve??

I hope one of of resident experts will answer because I would have thought acetaminophen, MLD and glove BUT perhao=ps glove and sleeve is wrong. Is there nobody you can call ( LEist ?) to advise ?

I am sure someone here will help.  After seeing your hand, I am not positive. sorry.  First, do no harm.

Purple, My fault - being both sides are compromised and the left just got over the surgery trauma I thought, being the oxygen sensor wasn't a clip one and only taped on it would be ok.. They say that they couldn't see anything on the video that I hit the end table or headboard of the bed.. They have no clue...so that is just an "Oh Well" learned another lesson.  My LEist said I could try glove and sleeve but when I tried it hurt so bad after a while, I decided to take it off and when I did, it swelled even more.(Rebound swelling?)  anyway, he said if they try to do an O2 sensor again for a long period of time, to tell them what happened last time (don't even mention the LE question) and say, "Let's not try that again please". My LEist can't see me anymore because I can't afford him but he chats with me on the phone and takes me in on his lunch to try to help me make pads for my underarms etc.  He is an awesome guy. Just can't make an appointment with him unless there is another "Big" issue.. I'm kinda on my own for the little ones.

GMA, When I did that test I told them I wanted a option and they allowed me to clip it to my toe. When the docs/labs get snottie about using my arms I ask them what would you do if a armless person came in for a test.  It usually works and they use my feet but once the lab refused to do my feet. I was forced to go somewhere else.

I would love to know what a person with not arms and no legs does for needle pokes and bps? Seriously.. please answer me if you know where they draw blood etc

OK, so I think it's safe to say this much -extra water, MLD, arm and hand up, propped on pillows.GENTLY open and close the hand now and then while it is elevated ( ea hr ?)

As for the sleeve/glove - trial and error I'm afraid.  It it hurts, snake it off.  Try again after  MLD and elevation or perhaps even tomorrow. Listen to your body. WELL  Supported elevation may be best right now.

BTW,. an O2 sensor can go on your toe.  They should have known that . Grrrr!

Just a heads-up to everybody here. I stopped at Trader Joe's yesterday and they have a new product, currently on sale at $1.29 a bag. They're freeze dried pea pods, a lot like potato chips only tastier and not as fatty. But the reason you're going to want to go buy one--or a whole case of them--is because of the name: Inner Peas. Something we could all use, no? And you don't even have to do the yoga to get it!CoolLaughing

    Binney, enjoying inner peas

they do sound good but I wish there was a Trader Joe's close by so I could enjoy the inner peas. the closest one is 60+ miles away, I don't think it would be worth a 3 hour drive round trip for a bag of inner peas. I was wondering how much sodium is in them?

Binney can't think of a Corgi joke.... Here's two.

"Why did the corgi bite the woman's ankle?"

"Because he was short and couldn't reach higher!"

"What do you call a corgi out of cash?"

          "A pemBROKE"

Well Binney... this is your first inaguration to the Corgi pack. Cool Enjoy that little dog of yours soon to come.

What?! A Corgi out of cash?!Surprised How can that happen with all those relatives in Buckingham Palace?

And I can't resist one more 3rd-grade pea joke. For all you 3rd graders old enough to remember the bumper stickers from the late 60s: "Visualize whirled peas!"

    Okay, I'll quit!Embarassed
Hope all you New Englanders are warm and cozy and visualizing nothing but a winter wonderland outside your windows. Stay warm!

Too funny, Binney, because when I read your post yesterday, I immediately thought of the 'whirled peas' bumper sticker.

I just spent a few weeks with my daughter and her family. She has a 2 year old and a 5 month old. One evening, as we were preparing peas because the 2-year old loves them, my daughter remarked that in giving them to her little one, she too had discovered that peas are so wonderful, she cannot imagine why on earth we had so many fights over them when she was little. She resisted the little veggies and we declared truce on them when she was in high school.  So she now has achieved inner peas of a different sort.  And I got to dish out a whopper of an 'I told you so.'

Carol......lol....I too had a daughter who hated peas. Me being Mommy Dearest always said to her...."you will sit there till you finish those peas"........today she loves peas, her brother who hated them too always said......"Mom, look I ate all mine"......found out years later at a "guess what I got away with conversation at a family gathering".......he always wore slippers on the night we had peas.......he dropped them in them, and dumped them in the toilet after dinner.......kids......
