I don't see any. Try a different browser & see if they go away.

Meece, have you got some sort of dictionary hooked up or active with your browser? Or are you using as add supported alternative browser? not firefox, explorer or safari? It sounds like the browser is trying to give you definitions or sell you things. I don't see any hyper-links and I'm using an iPad. Don't see them on my Mac using Firefox either. Good luck

Barbe - it was in a good way so not sore or hurt bones here.  Had a great anniversary all day on the 12th then Valentines Day I got Roses!  This is a first. DH has never gotten me roses before, lots of different flowers, but never roses until this year.  I think after 32 years it is about time!

Meece & Ginger - sorry you two have the crud.  I think I am finally over it and it was no fun. I didn't feel like doing or eating much of anything and seems like I slept a lot too.  Sending healing hugs to both of you.

Meece - I never have seen the hyperlinks no matter what browser or computer I am on.  It is probably something to do with a setting on your computer for as a Internet plug-in for your browsers.  May be impossible to figure out unless you are a nerdy geek.  DH thinks I am a nerdy geek as I am always having to fix his computer.  He keep disabling his anti-virus protection and then goes on the Internet and picks up a virus that I have to deal with and get rid of. I have finally taken his administrative privileges away so he cannot disable the anti-virus again.  Oh well another story for later.  Hope you find the hyperlink gremlin.

You took away his admin powers!!! I love it.

I am sitting here watching Martha Pullen shows. I have 37 of them on my DVR and they have special status, no one is to erase them except me.

I forget how much I love certain techniques until I see them again. Pin tucks, entredeaux, trim that you thread ribbon through and many more. Martha shows antique garments at the end of the show and I love seeing those techniques too. One little christening dress had 65 horizontal tucks in the shirt. These were done my hand!  our sisters did amazing work by hand.

When I was in England with myhusband on a business trip we were only in London for one of the days. DH won and we went to the British Museum and the War Museum, I wanted to go to Victoria and Albert Museum and regret that I didn't take a taxi and go off on my own. It is my understananding that there is a wonderful collection of antique needlework there.

We were up in Hitchen staying at the Abby ( I think that was the name) My DH was working until 11 and 12 o'clock at night so I bought myself a plane ticket to Dublin, just $49. US each way and went off to visit a friend in Dublin.  It is strange to me looking back and realizing I had just returned from Haiti and yet was too timid to take the train into London and go off to the V&A museum on my own.   I will try, even at my age, to learn from that.

Wow watching these shows today I am remembering how much I love Heirloom sewing.

I hope you are having some fun yourself today. My cold is giving way.

    Love Ginger

Ginger - Martha Pullen will be here in Raleigh giving a class on Heirloom sewing at one of the shops I think in late March.  It is not really close to me but I think I will make the 45 minute drive anyway.  I did register for the class today, just don't remember the exact date. Guess I better go look it up again and put it on my calendar.

Glad your cold id getting better.  AJ

Melissa you are just breaking the ice there. Be sure to go back next week and you;ll do just fine.  I am awkward at a first class and sometimes even avoid going. I am always better for having gone to a class though!  Have fun and enjoy.

Very interesting. She is having us learn "old-fashioned" way for first class. Cutting templates, adding seam allowances with ruler & hand-piecing. Homework for the week is to cut & hand piece two squares.

Melissa, it is good to learn the basics in quilting and get the process down, then when you learn the shortcuts, you have a strong foundation to build on and it will come easier. Just don't stress out and enjoy the classes.

Some of them were kind of moaning at hand sewing. I think I might actually enjoy having something to sit and work on while I was watching tv or sitting drinking coffee, etc. So far my biggest challenge was threading the needle & getting it knotted:) I am buying a needle threader, I know that much. I probably need new glasses.

Good for you, Melissa!  I like the handwork as well.  I really need to get my 'grandmother's garden" back out since it is the perfect laptop project.

But first, 'baby who' needs his/her quilt.  I have twelve blocks cut out and yesterday I started puting the strips between them.  I have decided that since we do not know the gender, I am going to make the top and machine quilt it to the backing but will wait until baby is born to add the binding.  I figure I will pop one of my machines in the trunk when we go and I can sew the rest there.  DH and I will be caring for Patch as mommy and the new baby are in the hospital.  I will have to make my time during naps and evening strecth for sewing.

Barbe, I did make the remaining blocks with heavier stabilizer and it helped.  Just ironing them helped as well.  I am waiting for more fabric for the borders.  It should arrive today.

Meece, how exciting about the baby.

We're out of little ones in our family. Christmases & Easter aren't nearly as fun. My youngest cousin is now about eleven.

We're just starting up with the Grands.  DH's daughter has a 5 yr old, my eldest has a 20 mo old, and each are expecting this year.  His family won't get together with mine, so we don't have lots of kids around but even one is better then none.

DS2 has a girlfriend (soon to be fiance) who has a 6 yr old and an 8 yr old.  She is in the process of adopting a 6 mo old, so when they are over, it is a wonderful family feel!

This next generation needs to realize how great and wonderful and fulfilling grandchildren are! That if they don't have children, then they wont have grandchildren themselves.   I never press my kids about it but I sure do wish for a couple more. I have 4 children and 4 grandchildren. Don't you think two more would be nice? I do.

    Have fun stitching.

Arghhhhh! Sob...Well I told y'all I just had 1 1/2 hours sleep the night before my class. I was so tired & we covered so much info so fast. Well, took me forever to cut all my pieces for a block this morning because I did not have a fabric marker that worked well on my dark fabrics. Couldn't leave because the city was working on a water leak in the street & I was blocked in. Finally got started. After a few false starts & picking out handstiched seams because I had the wrong parts together I finally finished three squares. I swear I only remember cutting one triangle template & one square. Well, we cut two & I used the big one instead of the small one. I need to take all three apart & try to trim down my pieces then redo all three squares. Ugh!.
