I am packed and ready for the tropical trip. Let's add a stop on Grand Cayman-- you'll love it, I promise!! After a day of snow and having to drive 3 hours to get home (23 miles), I am ready for some fun in the sun!! You ladies to the north must think it's crazy for a big city to shut down with an inch or two of snow, but we just don't have the equipment to deal with it. And it's been so cold that the roads got icy very quickly.Took DS 7 1/2 hrs. to drive home and his office is only 14 mi. away. We both would like to toss all of the snow and ice into the fire, but there's so much, it might put the fire out!
I've always wanted to go to Alaska, but I hate mosquitos! And it will need to warm up a little more! FK, wish I could send this snow to you!!! I'm ready for flip flop weather.

I could not believe 7 1/2 hours to go 14 miles........wow
We are use to the snow, but not this cold weather......snow is nothing for us, but the cold is brutal.....suppose to end this weekend.......can't wait...........
FK's broom is on charge........we will be by soon, she is just going to have to deal with the warm weather, if we are going to freeze our asses off for her.....and we have to she is driving the broom...........lol

Ok FK......went back.......Badger is sick of the cold too, so she is coming with us....we can stop by and get her too...........
Now I know your the driver of the broom Limo, but you have to at least let us have some fun in the sun.........if we're gonna deal with some more cold weather to please you, your gonna do some warm for us.........soooooooooooooo......a little sunscreen, and "bug spray" for FK..........you can handle 80 degrees can't you..........any higher and we will throw your ass in A/C...............

OK, I am confused ... are we heading to Alaska or to some warm tropical beaches????? I need to start packing, just not sure if I need the DEET and sunscreen or the long underwear and gorgeous sweaters ....

Linda bring both...........this is one long trip to warm and cold........FK has a big broom, so we can pack big................pink sandy beaches, and cold beautiful glaciers...........just pack your closet.......lol........
FK said she will stay in the A/C while we enjoy the warmth.......she is so nice...........so pack big..........

Ducky, I usually overpack anyway! End up only using about half the stuff I take with me! Of course, now I have to add all the stupid LE gear and first aid stuff, what a royal pain and waste of good luggage space!

Sooo all we will have to bring is our lovely bodies,and what we have on our back

We have to set a date and that's where the problems will begin
March I have a reunion in LI...gonna get picked up at POA and go by limo...ya who..don't have the date set yet how about April fools day to start this journey????

There is a great B&B at the base of Mount Alyeska that is really nice- can't remember the name of it, but the hosts were great, rooms were great, nice fireplace, etc. Right at the entrance for ski lift, but I am telling you that it looks like ALL trails are black diamond - nearly all vertical from what I saw!!! So maybe a nice hotel in Anchorage, take the train to Fairbanks and maybe catch the Northern Lights .... do some digging for clams if we get fishing licenses .... maybe stay at the inn at the entrance to the Mt. McKinley park .... great wildlife viewing .... not that I am thinking about it, April and May would be a good time to go because it isn't warm enough to breed mosquitoes, but traveling around the state will be easier as the worst of the winter storms should be over .... and who cares if we get delayed in some wonderful artsy village on the Kenai peninsula ..... I truly wanted to move there, have been there 3 times, once in March, once in May, once in July ..... all of them wonderful!!!! So we will have to plan at least 2-3 weeks to do this great state justice to see all the wonderful things it has to offer!

Hollander - I've been to Grand Cayman many times and there just isn't enough to do there unless you like swimming with stingrays which is an awesome experience. Of course, there are the rum cakes in so many flavors.
I will only go to Alaska in the summer time. FK knows how much I hate cold weather. If she goes to the beaches and stays in the AC, guess I could stay in the warm hotel.

FK, we'll put lounge chairs in a walk in cooler for you and the cool weather chicks while we sit on the beach and enjoy the sunshine and tropical drinks. It will feel just like Alaska without the bugs. See you at dinner after the sun goes down and the crazy fun gets going!!! I'm thinking you'll need the RV broom to have room for all of us. I think there's a cabin fever epidemic going on!

Slow...............yea.............jump on the broom..........It belongs to Firecracker, but we have plenty of room for you too.............we are packed , and off to places we only dream of getting too, but we get there just the same.............great friend, good food, good drinks.............and a hell of a lot of fun............
