    Good Morning Goddesses!

Don't worry Joan, I am woefully behind too.  Now that FK is back. I have two things to say......

How many times do I have to tell you ALL, I LOCKED THAT DAMN BASEMENT MONTHS AGO!  I'm not giving up the key and you can't get into the rockin' club past the bouncer without the daily password without doing a goofy trick.

The ATTIC is available for SHORT TERM stays.  The sun still shines there though?

And SECOND.....  Scottie is set to start beaming in 5, 4, 3, 2, ........ SO GRAB YOUR BAGS AND GET YOUR BUTTS ON THE BUS!

I'll take the first tour tomorrow.  Who wants Thursday?

Holy crap Ducky-you had me pissing my pants. I am not packed and ready to go. Thought the group would not hit PA til end this month  or next month. I really am trying to gather pics, links and info.

It is fun to talk to people who know the characters and places where I live.

I actually grew up in a little boro called West View and it had a small amusement park-I'll make that part of my road trip!

Sally, I took care of a woman who worked at Boggs and Buhl as a seamstress. Jenkins Arcade is gone too. My old HS friend's father was one of the people who helped construct PPG plaza, which was such a big deal for the city. It remains a place where I like to sit after football games and have coffee. City life dies down early anymore, but we do have an awesome theater district and art scene. Which surprises many who visit here. Our local PBS station does such a great job showcasing the city. Chris Fennimore showcases the food and regional influences of the many ethnicity in our region and Rick Sebak does the spots on our region. If you ever have a chance to see any of their work, it is super. And I have gone to many of the places as a result of the shows and gathered a lot of recipes from Chris' shows too

FYI-the Hornes building is primarily owned by Highmark now, however they continue the tradition of lighting the tree on the side of the building.

I do remember also that every Easter we got new gloves, dress, hat, patent leather shoes and a little purse. It was as important if not more so than Christmas. I will look for a picture of me and my sissy with our Easter outfits.

    Hey Ducky!

I haven't been hiding, just busy.  You know I'm too hornery to hide from much of anything, except people that want money!  So let's throw them in the fire!

I've just been busy and not posting much anywhere. Trying to keep up though. Glad you dragged FK back up off the steps.  She was missed.  We all got too much daily shit and when you get something personal and sentimental thrown in the mix it causes a tail spin.  Glad you are back up and running Fire!

Now, about this trip......we all sure could use it.  I even have a friend working on a t-shirt design so we could all get one and be a "real tour group"!

So since I am packing for a trip to Vegas where I plan to be WILDLY INAPPROPRIATE  I will give you all a 3 week extension on departure.  NO REFUNDS OR CANCELLATIONS!  Bus WILL leave in MONDAY APRIL 21st!  So you all best get cracking on the homework and packing.  In the meantime PM me with your hometown and other worldly destination you want to visit and let me know if you would want a t-shirt.  That way I can get a price and let everyone know.

Lucky I got a hold of Scotty on time today before half of you were floating around in pieces in the middle of beaming to the bus!

Welcome back, you bad girl,Firekracker! now, you know i AM alright, and practicing being MORE than good, and taking care of myself, i aint gonna die on ya. love you

    Hey Kath!

You can give a tour of how little or how ever much you want too!  I can't give a tour of my house or child services or the "clutter" tv show might show up!  Between breaking my ankle and then everything BC related plus having 4 kids in the house, it didn't stand a chance last year. it is like a boat with a big hole.  I can't bail fast enough to make any progress!

T-shirts!  As soon as he has the design finished I'll post it!

If a V-neck shirt would be an option I will be in! I am so embarrassed. It may look like I am a bit showy, but I honestly wrote that entire post for someone in another thread.

Doncha just hate when you can't keep track of who you are addressing and where?????????!!!!!!!!!

    YEESH!

Although a bit of it was appropriate for this thread too. LOL

Piper!  I was just teasing!!!  and I can't keep track of much either.  Ever send a text to the wrong person.  That can get really embarrasing!!!

    V-neck should be no problem.

Ladies I amthe  "Queen" of sending a text to the wrong person...............only with me it is usually something about the person I misttakenly sent it too...........LOL...........then you have to see how I cover my ass...........oh have done it way too many times...........

One time I wrote a text about my sons wife who had recently left him with 4 kids, it was so sad, and he still was trying to win her back.............one of my daughters sent me a message about whether I thought she was coming back...........

This is how it went "Are you kidding me........she is never coming back......why would she........she is living the life of Riley now, now way she's coming back"..................hit send.............it went to my son, instead of my youngest daughter........................realized it after I hit send.................ever get that "oh shit" feeling...................10 seconds after I hit "send" my phone rang..................Guess Who.......

Had to see me lie my way out of that one..................oh I'm good at sending the message to the wrong person..........................Oh yes, I am the "Queen" of .........OOPs...............

Ducky, that story is so funny.

I'm glad the trip has been postponed a bit though, gives me time to finish up rads and feel better.

I'm grouchy today which doesn't happen too often. I drove an hour to rads only to wait 45 minutes while they took other people that came in long after me. So what did I do? I walked out and drove an hour back home. That'll fix em. Farging iceholes.

Edited to say: Kath, you should show whatever you want on the trip. I can't wait to see your home!

Wow...that is horrible..............and to say the least ridiculous........

So glad my hospital was 10  minutes from my house, if I made every light green......more like 15 to 20 if I got them red........pulled up to the curb, and a valet parked my car, and most times just let it sit out front of the door cause he knew I would not be long...........loved everything about my  experience with having this devil disease..................

Only thing that brought me down........Letrozole.........that pill is the worst, and I am still thinking about quitting it..........taking my chances........hell I am going to be 79 in 23 days............how long so I need to live.............especially feeling like someone beat the shit out of me, every day..........I started it in July 2011, and have not had a pain free day since 3 weeks after starting................and it just got worse over time............oh well shit happens..........

Yeah well, I only hurt myself by leaving. It just ticked me off. Now that I'm getting to the end it feels like they are pushing me to the back of the line!

Ducky, you have to live for a long time - FK would be so irritated!! So you'll just have to suffer the pain with the rest of us!! There's NO other option!! Period - capeesh?

    ha slow...remember the commercial "That's a spicy meat-a-ball!"

My son used to say it all the time and at 3yo mastered the spoon fork spaghetti roll.

    image

My son was a much cuter baby than I was, but the initial likeness is amazing. I was often mistaken for a boy. Now he is mostly the spitting image of his father. However, today, I think my son is way more handsome than his dad.

We do not have streetcars. I believe they went to the wayside in the 60's, but the tracks stuck around a lot longer. There is a trolley service to the South Hills and now in town to the Northside sports venues along with the Clipper Fleet that continues to provide game day rides on the rivers, afternoon cruises and evening dinner cruises as well. We actually have a "Good Ship Lolly Pop"  ;)

There is a popular video series called 'Pittsburgh Dad'.....wildly popular as he has the regional dialect downpat and showcases many of the nuances of our region.

I will include a link....to us they are hilarious videos....I am not sure how well received they are outside of the area unless you are familiar with Pittsbughese and the region.......But funny none the less....At least I think so, but I have friends and family who sdo yinzer speak even better than Pgh Dad........

Watch it to the end so funny......
