Gina I defiantly think stress can cause cancer.  Not that I have anything scientific but I was under alot of stress for a couple of years right before dx and it seems when you talk to people alot of people say they have been under stress.

So who is this wonderful chiropractor you know.

Jo and GMA:sorry that you both have cervical disc problems.  I do as well and have been struggling with them for 3 years now.  I initially was prescribed chiropractic from my top notch neck neurologist (he had given me a 30% chance to need surgery) and so far, so good!  My disc herniations have been under control, but do flare up from time to time.  I just started a new procedure at PT that my headache doctor prescribed:  cranial-sacral therapy.  Have any of you heard of it?  I had my first session yesterday and was completely blown over by everything that the therapist was able to pinpoint by just touching different parts of the spine and allowing for a "release".  It took about 1 1/2 hours, but today I feel so much less tense!  Every nerve problem I had, including my mysterious endometriosis/adhesions that have not been detected on ct or mri, were detected by her.  She started from my sacrum and made her way up to my skull.  I've been having a flare up with my tmj, so she even had to put her hands (gloved) in my mouth to treat there.  I'll be going once a week for at leat the next three weeks, so I am hoping it only gets better.

It's funny...I was talking to one of my good friends the other day about all my doctor/PT/chiropractor visits and she blurted out, "Sue, you just have to quit all doctors."  I responded, "Don't I wish!!"  It seems we are all in the same boat here.  After cancer, EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING gets checked, even those things that we would normally learn to live with.  I have had TMJ, back problems, gall bladder problems etc. etc. for 20 years and I was used to them before, but now, every twinge---zingo----cancer check!!  tired of it all.... let's all move to an island with no doctors.  Just the lack of stress will keep us cancer free forever Cool

I had appt yesterday with my RO - 3 month followup, finished radiation 10/31/11. When I told him I was still experiencing fatigue, he stated he didn't think it was due to the radiation. He said it may be the medication, I'm on Evista. Is anyone else still having fatigue. I also told him I still wake up with alot of pain in my right breast. I've tried the stretching exercises. He didn't seem to have any suggestions for that. ANY ONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?

My BS said it could take several months for the breast pain to disappear. I still have sharp pain at times and weight training for left arm still an issue. Fatigue seems to have gone away. I do the stretching just keep hoping at some point it goes away but probably won't happen.

fhar451:  try some very gentle yoga if you are able...it has helped me so much!  if not,  PT is very helpful...

Fhar451. I still have fatigue and I got done rads last July. I asked my primary care doctor and she thinks it is from a couple of prescriptions that I am taking...

I no longer have fatigue, but still do have the sharp pains in my radiated breast. Yesterday seems like I had pains all day.  My dr's said this could go on for up to a year, maybe 2 or more :(

I can deal with it though.  I just hope and pray that cancer stays away!

KSmatthews  and fhar451: My pain management doc said the same thing and I have nerve damage and am on gabapentin.. He told me he wouldn't suggest me trying to get off it for at least 2 years.. If the pains are bad, PT or pain management are two things I would suggest... I wish I would have started the pain management earlier!

I still have fatigue and I am 7 months post rads.. but I think it gets worse when I add to much to my list to do... I am working 40 hours at home computer job and my hours have shifted to 4am-12:30 pm and then work another job 5.5 hours a week where I can get a emergency insurance to keep the "lapse of insurance" label away. Of course the nutritionist wants me walking at least 40 minutes 4 times a week.... No wonder I'm fatigued.. but you have to do what you have to do...Anyway you might want to keep track of what you are doing all day... I do find even though i'm tired a walk does make me feel better.

fhar451~ tell him to go radiate himself? lol.

I had extreme fatigue, for a long time.  It got better little by very little.  I started to see a chiropractor and I started to take vitamins.  I think the vitamins helped with the energy too.

I had a lumpectomy and extreme pain for a long time too.  My RO even asked me at my three month follow up how bad the pains were.  He said all his BC patients tell him the same thing.  Whether it is nerve damage, nerves repairing themselves, or scar tissue or tissue healing from surgery, doesn't really matter to me, it only seems to matter to the docs, it's still pain no matter what.  The pain severity did wear off. I still get them once in a while.

YOGA DOES HELP!!! I took a few classes when I was going thru radiation and it really helped with the fatigue. The classes are offered by the cancer center at the wellness center of the hospital, but they are held on Thursday mornings and I work full-time. I have ordered a dvd that I can work with that was recommended by the yoga instructor.

    Thanks for your reply.

you're very welcome!  I wish I had started yoga sooner.  I finished rads end of May and had to go through lymphadema in the breast and pain before realizing that all I needed was to get moving.  Yoga is perfect because you don't want to do too much too soon due to all the healing going on and the handicap in the lymphatic system.  Hope it gets better for you. I ordered all of Trudie Styler's videos through Gaiam which are fun and mostly gentle (there are a couple that are too advanced for me right now).

granny I called my accountant and told them to file an extension. I am having surgery on March 26th and while I am home for the month I will work on my income tax and get it to them before I return to work.  Not gonna stress myself out. I have tomorrow off and I am gonna clean my home office and try to get my paperwork in order.  So  understand about drowning in paperwork

Ok Ladies - Pocket party again  - ONC today with the talk about starting AI's yet again... It is a hard decision for me right now.. but finding out my neck issue could have been causing the headache, I am thinking about giving the arimidex another try - the only SE I was having with that was the headache. See ONC at 1:45pm pacific.

Thank you ladies - have some weird news from ONC..... first he said that he wants to give me more time without - he doesn't want to rock the boat since I am getting the nerve pain and neck issues straightened out... gave me another 6 months!!!

He then went on to say that things might be better in a few months anyway - a new shot to kill your estrogen is out there but is only approved for people that still have the cancer in their system, so he can't use it on me.... The way he was talking, I think another med might be coming out that would kill off the estrogen better than the AI's???? Don't want to get anybodies hopes up but this whole chat floored me.
