AmyJo I am so sorry to hear of your fall.Yes,  Thank God there was no fire. That must have been so darn scary!  I hope you heal up quickly. I have removed all the throw rugs from my house. I also stopped wearing my wonderful soft slippers because my foot would just come out of them. I also do not walk our dogs any longer, not even 10 feet since I got pulled over by them. Isn't it amazing the adjustments we have to make.

I go to physical therapy since the car accident in Sept. and they have helped my in a lot of ways. I need to keep going, bad balance and pain is just a big problem. The physical therapists help us all over don't they?

I have also been on Tamoxifen for about 8 months now. I have my full check up next Thursday. I thought it was yesterday and nearly went all the way to Seattle for no reason, so glad my husband dug out my paperwork. I hope your scan is uneventful and your balance and other issues level off soon.

    Love Ginger

Ginger and Barbe, thanks for the kind words and concern.  All you ladies are so wonderful.  My DH said it might be the shoes I was wearing since I fell again yesterday when I started up the stairs and was wearing the same shoes as the other night.  Same leg just would not respond to what my brain was telling it to do.  At least this fall was on carpet and I had hold of the railing so was not nearly so bad as the first one.  So those shoes are going to the back of the closet, (never never land) until I make sure they are or are not the cause.  What is so crazy about yesterday is that I had been walking around just fine before I headed up the stairs.  Have a call into my oncologist  and neurologist to hopefully find out what is going on.

    Love you all, AJ

Oh AJ my lovely!  I am so concerned that you are falling and so close to that fire place as well?  This is not good news and I sincerely hope that your onc and or neurologist have some answers for you. I do wish you had a better result with the AIs and Tamoxifen but I know a few girls on the Xeloda and it is reasonably easy on the SE side of things and seems to be doing good things on the cancer side of things.........sure hope you have a good success with it for yourself.

Chin up my lovely and do take the best care possible of yourself.........know that you are in my prayers.

    Love n hugs.    Chrissy

AJ........ouch.....hope your doing better.......horrible fall.......know what that is like, but I am just plain clumsy.......add dizzy, and bad balance, and that is a disaster.........my husband use to say "you could walk across an empty room, and fall".........so true

Oh my goodness, AJ.  This new year's certainly not being kind to you so far!  I'm so thankful you didn't break anything in the fall, and especially thankful that there was no fire in the fireplace!  And falling again?  Yep, those shoes are banished!  I am truly sorry so much has happened to you.  Have you started the Xeloda yet?  I hope your onco and neurologist have come up with a good plan for you, too.  You're always in my prayers.  I think of Kendall often and hope she's doing well.

Chrissy, love the snowflakes on the blue background!  I can't decide which I like better though, the red or the blue.

It will be interesting to see just how many inches of rain we've had today.  The forecasters said it would be a deluge, and for once they didn't exaggerate.  Hope it washed some allergens out of the air!

Must think about something for dinner.  DH had wanted to go out, but don't think we'll go in this rain.

Hope everyone's having a good weekend.

It is with great sadness that I must tell you of the passing of my father on Friday. I'll be flying to Los Angeles Sunday morning for the funeral and the Shiva (week of mourning). Karen1956 will have my phone number while I'm in the U.S.

May we know no further sorrow.

Leah, I am sorry for the sadness that has come into your life. I hope your trip is safe and uneventful.

elisimo, I hope things turn around for you. I am glad that the falls were no worse. Put those shoes somewhere that they can't be reached! Be thinking of you all day on Tuesday! I have a prayer group in the morning we will lift you up. (hope you don't mind)

Just wanted to let everyone know, the shop is reopening on Tuesday. The new cobbler has gotten the stitchers running so he feels we might as well get it going. I have some more clean up and organizing to do, but we might as well start bringing work in so we can make some cash.

I finally got insurance approval for my new med. I sure hope this helps me to feel better. After I took it yesterday afternoon, I slept until noon today. I think I can finally relax.

Yay Nancy!  Great that the shop in now operational here's hoping it gets back to what it was before BC happened.

Girls it is so hot here!  I know you all have been iced up to the wazoo now we are the total opposite.......totally melting time!.......lol.  My air conditioner has been running non stop since Sunday and will continue to do so for at least another three days........I'm not looking forward to the electricity bill but I will just have to cope with it as I'm afraid I cannot bear being hot.  At least it will be a lot cooler (I hope) for when I return to the city on Monday for the MRI of my neck and shoulder.

Okay, enough of a winge........lol.  Have a good day all!

    Love n hugs.    Chrissy

Chrissy, It's on the news here. That's just unbearably hot. I'm surprised the entire country is not in a swimming pool with a big shade hat on.

Wren even the water in a swimming pool is warm in these temps........the only place that is cool in is air conditioning or the beach and as the beach is too far away I have to put up with air conditioning........lol.

Wren thank yu for being in my pocket. After all the usual, mammo (all okay), blood work, Onc appt, the Onc ordered a Magnetic RI scan and it was difficult. The loudest machine I have ever been in. I had ear covers and more and it still sounded like the worst, head mounted, metal bucket percussion band ever. I tried to think of you in my pocket and the the Tim Gunn show would be on yesterday evening.   I don't have the results yet. They said a DR at the University of WA was going to read it and they would compare it do Dexa scans I have had there in the past two years.   Onc decided to do this because she did not like my Cervical and Thorasic spine symptoms. She said she will just pass it on to the regular DR for followup.  The scheduler found that there was an oping for MRI in 7 minutes and through some crazy alignment of the stars I was in there with in 20 minutes. Please pray for all clear for me. I didnt hear today. The is also a rehab physician at SCCA who I can see and who can treat the vertebra if it needs specific treatment. That would be so wonderful. I really think something needs treatment and if it could make it stop hurting so I can walk again I would be so grateful!!!!!

Ginger here's hoping an answer can be found and treatment given to relieve your symptoms.........waiting for results really are the pits but we are all hanging in there with you.

Finally, our heat wave has broken!  A cool change came through last night.....no rain here but the air is much cooler.  There was rain in some areas but there are also many fires from lightening strikes that are burning fiercely.........lots of property damage and so far one loss of life........2014 is not starting well.

    Take care all!

    Love n hugs.    Chrissy

Great news about your break in weather. I hope some rain will help with the lightening fires.

I am going to post the ink for the contest Cool Breeze is in,Anne. http://www.healthline.com/health/best-health-blogs-contest It ends in just three days. She is in and out of first because a COMPANY is in the contest with their blog. These people have 20,000 likes and sell a ton of things on their website. I hope for these last three days we can boost Anne up and add to her sons college fund. She has had some good reports lately so she is feeling more confident she will be there for his graduation this year. I would just like us to really help her out and I think this is a thread that will do it for her. I vote using my facebook and using twitter, takes me all of 10 seconds once a day.

I hope you will join me in what ever way you wish to,  Hugs Ginger
