Holenone thank you so much for the peanuts cards. 👑 😂 II am sending longer p.m. later.
Queeny - rest up. Sleep is good for your body to heal.
Lovely. - as always I come in here and try to catch up. I always see one of your pictures fairly soon. It akwasys puts a smile on my face
Love all the pics from everyone on here. What a easy to start the day. I especially like... The Santa coming here pics!
SAS.. Yours are a little older than what I would know. Lol I bet Chevy did. Actually I seen at least or more people did too. Lol did anyone take you upon n the tsst of home offer yet ? If so I would love it. Used to get their books every month when I first lived on m own and started cooking
Mags - get well - rest up sleep is best
Jazzy. Seriously, is that all of your snow? I thought you lived in New Mexico. Didn't realize that they had snow there.
As for me, I'm feeling better. Had a rough few days but doing much better. Dh took the tree down from the attic last night and the boys put it together while we watched. and then tonight I guess we're going to get the ornaments and lights and stuff. Plannibg on watchin videos of our past Christmases. It is family tradition but I dot know that I could set thru it and not cry...or the break down and sob. Happy happy times. Gotta keep focusing on the here and now. The PRESENT !!! Worrying can not change the past or future. Gotta feel the right now. And right now : I am focusing on getting tree and lights and such up. Listening to Christmas music ( mostly my peanuts music ds's or gospel ) watching. Videotaping , and writing about happyhow it makes me to see my dss and dh laugh. Open mouth , loud laugh not a chuckle ,talking with friends and appreciative of their support, reminig to pay forward this kindness. , making cookies ( shh OK they are premade just gotta spoon and bake them. Shh). The present is my focus !
Hugs all around and hoping you also are feeling the "present "

Jazzy and Chevy Yay snow. Here I had to put on long pants and a sweatshirt the last few day. Birdwatching was fun. Donnie was interested in learning names. My fav today was the Hooded Merganser.
Loverly, forgot to ask, oe maybe did and forgot the answer. How did Mitsy do from her spell in the kennel?
Patty, okay girl it's yours. I already have your address
We are putting up more lights today too! Yay for the moment

Yay, Patty for the moment and the break(hopefully big) from misery.
Thank you MS. Chevy for the cute video. Showed it to family this morning at breakfast and we all had a good laugh.
It's raining now. On our way to church...

Taking Mitzy along with us. She will be a mess if we leave her. Traffic is slowing down now. Hopefully, we don't have another accident. We had a bad one the other day. FedEx truck hydroplaned, crossed the devider and went into oncoming traffic. One person lost his life. I was stuck in traffic and was 2 hours late for work. Life is short. I need to appreciate the time i have here. BB

Patty- yes, we get snow here in north Central NM. We are considered "high desert" so we get seasons like many other parts of the country. Many folks think our winter weather is like Phoenix, but that is low desert.
I love snow, grew up with it back east and plan to snow shoe this winter!

lover, don't you love all the rain?! Wishing it wasn't so windy. I got the tree all decorated and some presents wrapped. Got to finish that today.
This weather will clear up by 2 pm so that means a really nice morning for DGS to get to the hospital. It would kill him to go out in this kind of weather. Last day to worry about it. Keeping fingers crossed that everything goes well and he won't be in pain hell anymore. It's hard to live with 8-10 levels all the time.

Just wishing you all everything you need, and happiness for today!
So good to hear from you miss Peppermint! Yes, little brat, I KNEW who all those oldsters were.... Ha! I love this song......
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28sqs5H5hao I have to go upstairs and bring our 2 little Christmas trees down.... They stay decorated all the time.... One is red-velvet that I made, and another one has lights and home-made ornaments that I just keep on there.... I cover them both, and use them every year. Some ornaments are pictures of our little grand-sons when they were little, and I cut them out round, glued them together, sealed the edges with glitter, and they really look cute on the tree....
Be careful little Loverly! I'm getting so I don't really like to drive anymore.... at least very far.... I used to LOVE to drive.... but I don't like my "new" car to get dirty, and some of those drivers out there are just plain NUTS! I mean they whip around you like they are in some sort of race to get no-where fast! I'm always doing at LEAST the speed limit.... it's 30, right? JUST kidding! I'm a great driver.... Haven't had a ticket in forever....
"Long pants & sweatshirt"??? You would freeze your aaaars off here! And probably flip-flops, right? The sun is shining today.... It's only 43, and a lot of snow still around.... but at least it isn't windy.
I just made the BEST mix.... that I love.... Dark Chocolate covered Walnuts, sweetened Pineapple tid-bits, Sweetened baked Banana Chips, and those Jordan Almonds. If you eat only a few pieces a day, it is good for you..... !

Yeah, Chevy just a few bits hahahafildiedoo. Must admit I'm very good at a few bits a day. Yep, flip flops. Donnie's on a fixing binge. 2 faucets, a shelf I wanted lowered 2 inches, gutters, lights, tree trimming, lights. I need to put me one the list.
Loverly, sorry about the accident. That poor person that lost their life. No rhyme, no reason. Mitsy's going through the separation anxiety thing again. Next time take a blanket and a couple of tee shirts that you've slept in for a few days to get your sent on. Not perfect, but it can help.
Smarrty will be thinking of you DGS. Tough to go through this.
Susan, have faith that the baby will be near. You've come such a long way from the days you thought time short.

sas, you're right. But I just haven't felt good at all the last few months. And you know how are minds can go crazy with that. And if I don't start feeling better, I won't be able to travel by myself. I have many friends that say they will take turns driving me wherever Claire ends up. Soooooo sweet. Now I need to swallow my pride and say yes and thank you

Susan, definitely start Skype early. DS lives 7,000 miles away. We were on every week when DGS was born. When they came here at Christmas when he was 10 months old, he came right to me when they got through customs. Worked when his sister was born. Neither one has ever been shy around us when they come because they talk and interact with us on Skype. It's the next best thing to being there. You are blessed to have such good friends who want to drive you.
Hi Patty, glad you are starting to feel better. Now rest and let your DH and boys do the work. It should be fun to watch them.
Sas, you are so lucky to have someone who is handy around the house.
Oh I haven't decorated for Christmas for eight years and that's only because DS and family came for a visit. Allergic to real trees (that explained all those "colds" I got during the holidays) and don't really like artificial ones. Since I have to do it all, it isn't worth it. DH always takes the bah humbug attitude so why bother. All but one box sent off to Japan. Waiting for a few deliveries to finish off the last box. Bad timing on my part but at least the grandchildren will get theirs. DDs would prefer cash/gift cards this year. Thank you girls for making it easy this year. First year I've been stymied as to what to get them, not bad after 34 years.
Hi everyone else I've missed.

Kathy, Donnie is a workaholic. Can't sit still for a minute. His work is slow or rather the boss providing a paycheck for the work. I Joked today I should find something and break it. You are so right on Skype, I've missed the niece and nephew's young years b/c I didn't get going on that. A dear friend has four DGGS in England and two adult DGC and her son. They Skype just like you. They were there for everything.
Susan, When's your next checkup? I (we) so get the something going wrong thing. But we are so proactive. Has Claire and DSIL shared where he's trying to Match too? What subspecialty is he interested in? When I was in Paramedics, one time I walked in on the residents making their audio tapes for the residency director on med students that were applying for residency. Audio-on...went through all the boring details of academics and awards etc and their recommendation re:acceptance. Audio off--they discussed what instruments they played and their extracurricular activities. That crew was a hoot. Akron was rockin' while they were there. Roof top concerts. Even played at the Tangiers. They went into practice together as an ER group in Minn-St.Paul area. Wild. The other big thing during that time was mountain climbing. Like Everest.
One resident got to be a buddy with a gal that liked mountain and rock climbing. She helped him train for Everest. He was supposed to marry the gal back home that hated everything sports wise that he loved. We had a chat. He married the buddy. I suppose I was bad. Had him look at the rest of his life. Did he want to do what he loved for the rest of his life? Wouldn't it be better to do it with the one he loved and had a life commitment?

Andrew is med/ pedis. Internal medicine and pediatrics. He wants to do clinical work so he needs bot. He has interviewed, outside of Detroit, Grand Rapids, Cleveland Ohio, Louisville, Omaha Nebraska, Peoria, two places in Wisconsin, Kalamazoo Michigan, he dropped New York and Louisiana, flint Michigan,
I can't remember the rest. He shadowed in Omaha before interview. They loved him and the interview went well. That is the one they are hoping for. You can do clinic work anytime you want there. 100 an hour. Nice extra income if you can fit it in during residency. They both saw the area and both fell in love with Omaha. About 7 hour drive for me.
Don't see doc till end of January. This passed appt he was at a onc conference. Out of town for the next treatment. Got an appt with gi specialist, but they can't get me in till February. The onc nurse said to be pushy and get in earlier. Maybe I will. Un comfy for me to do that.
Hope everyone is well
Unusually warm here

Mags I agree he does get better with age.. what a looker. He made the best James Bond. Anyway I am in the hospital getting tanked up. The cancer has filled up my gut and slowed my intestines. Spoke witha surgeon.. can't really do anything. Trying ice chips.. narrowly ditched the NG tube. Spent the weekend here and will see my onc tomorrow. Never a dull moment. At least I feel better. Giving the bowels a rest. Be well.. I would like to see pictures of folks trees! If you have some sent them.please.

Lovingkindness to all.. (((Hugs)))

Aw, Rose. Darn buggers wreaking havoc! Good you decided to go in. Are you on TPN? Here is mine...

Peace and good rest.

ok Rose, here's mine. No cats in sight. Nobody has tried to knock it down. Yet! I want to get a new one next year, will have to watch for sales. The limbs on this look like they're going to fall off. Ordered it online a couple years ago. Won't do that again, I want to feel it.
Hope you're doing better and get some relief.

Frozen screen syndrome again...

I don't have a picture of her signature "royal" sitting pose. Imagine a pharaoh hound guarding a palace. Something like this

This is the closest I have

She looks more relaxed here

Rosie, what a great idea... We get a peek into everyone's Christmas traditions. The big blow up Santa was a thrifting find last summer.
Hoping you get some relief from the pain & discomfort. Thinking of you.......

Rose, ((((HUGS))). Hope you feel better.
Love everybodies trees.

Rose, so glad they were at least able to make you feel better. I've been thinking of you often. I don't have a tree at my house, but those of you who have multiple trees are making up for my lack of decorating!
0 -
Rose: no tree as such. Just a Christmas Cactus and a sort of frondy tree-y thing. But they're yours to imagine. Along with a smug and snuggly tuxedo cat, smirking by the cactus with a frond in his teeth. I'll take Sean Connery too, though Paul Newman's baby blues are a close second.
0 -
Ok, I'm greedy. I'll take Benedict Cumberbatch, Leonardo DiCapprio, George Clooney, Pierce Bronson AND Sean Connery. Hubba, hubba heart be still.

Our tree is still standing there unlit and undecorated, waiting for all of us to have a good day at the same time. We are all still coughing and hacking, a little better today but not out of the woods yet. All the coughing has flared up my costochondritis so badly that I'm getting muscle spasms every time I move. It's painful and highly annoying because I can't turn my torso even a tiny bit without it seizing up.
Tomorrow I will dig up pictures of Christmas trees past. They are all on my laptop.
Watching It's a Wonderful Life. I can identify with George Bailey.0 -
Rose- don't laugh! I downsized my holiday expectations of myself since I live alone and usually away for Xmas.
All the fun of having a place to hang ornaments without the hassle!

I have problems with Christmas trees too. The newspaper about killed me this morning. Macy's had an entire glossy section of perfume with samples and someone else had a few samples also. I sneezed for about an hour before I got to the perfume and realized what was causing it.

Wren, the perfume counters at the department stores are awful this time of the year. Dillard's is the worst, for some reason they position their makeup counter right inside their mall entrance. It's like they want to keep people out with the smell of Polo, ugh. I don't know how anybody can work there.
